Finally, we address the restaurants in Fantasyland. Which is better? Red Rose Tavern, the new kid on the block, or the Pinocchio Village Haus? We debate. We come to a conclusion. This is kind of how things go here.

[00:00:05] and it's making me feel joy and sadness and anger. Definitely some disgust. Rose! And I think a little fear.
[00:00:12] Really? But I'm also feeling these new emotions like anxiety, embarrassment, envy and ennui.
[00:00:19] It's what you call the boredom. Okay that one was weird. It's going to be the feel everything
[00:00:24] of the summer. Disney and Pixar's Inside Out 2, only in theaters June 14th. Get tickets now.
[00:00:46] Welcome to the Supreme Resort Land V World, a podcast about Disneyland and Walt Disney World
[00:00:51] and which is The Supreme Resort? Each episode we will discuss and explore each resort ride by
[00:01:01] land by land, park by park, house by tavern to determine which is better.
[00:01:09] House! If you're a hysteric. And joining me on this quest to help the greater good of humanity
[00:01:15] answer this long elusive question. Oh thank you for joining me. I missed a few words there. Thank
[00:01:20] you listeners for joining us. Which is better Disneyland or Walt Disney World? I nailed that
[00:01:28] one. Hey it's Dan. Hi. There he is. And that's Jimmy. Hi Christmas, Christmas time is here. Time
[00:01:38] for joy, time for cheer. We've been good but we can't last. Hurry Christmas, hurry fast.
[00:01:44] It's a preview for the next Grape in the Vault. Jimmy will speak in a fabulous rhyme.
[00:01:49] Did you record that again? It's true. I do. Recording rhyme.
[00:01:55] We have not. Not just now but every time. Great. No we have yet to hit record.
[00:02:07] But sooner or later, you will be bored. Perfect. Nailed it. Yes well thank you gentlemen for
[00:02:18] joining me this particular Saturday. Is it a Saturday? It is a Saturday. I haven't thought
[00:02:24] of a Sunday. I haven't thought of a house in several days because that's why I was wondering
[00:02:27] if you were going to be a church. But who goes to church on a Saturday? Lots of people. Okay.
[00:02:34] Yeah. By the way listener, you're allowed to listen to this any day of the week. Oh. Mm-hmm.
[00:02:40] Yep. Yep. It's not prohibited in any sort of way, shape or form. You can listen to this
[00:02:48] on Tuesday. Is that one of the days they can listen to it on? Definitely check it like your local
[00:02:54] and state laws. Oh okay. Because they change from place to place but currently as far as I understand
[00:03:01] it, you can in fact listen to any podcast any day of the week. Okay. Except for the WTF podcast
[00:03:09] which you can only listen to Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Because it's WTF.
[00:03:15] Yeah. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Oh, now I get it. I've always wondered.
[00:03:19] Why is there a question mark? Why indeed? I think it's asking which day will you pick?
[00:03:27] Oh, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Okay. Okay. Okay. Hey, Dan's been to Disneyland.
[00:03:34] A couple times. Yes. I have. It's really cool. The castle's tiny. It's embarrassing.
[00:03:40] Oh, I've heard. Oh man. Code V. He just turned beat red when you walked in. You're like, oh no.
[00:03:49] Oh, what is that? What is this? A literature golf course? Yeah. Right. So I think Eric,
[00:03:56] what you were getting at is since we last recorded and released an episode, Dan has been
[00:04:00] to Disneyland. Yes. And Dan, do you want to save the treehouse for a
[00:04:07] re-litigated episode or do you want to? It certainly deserves a re-litigated episode.
[00:04:13] I will tell anyone, I mean, let's face it, if you're listening to this podcast and you go
[00:04:19] to Disneyland, you're not going to look at the re-open treehouse and go like,
[00:04:23] eh, I'm not going to. No, thank you. Yeah. I will share just from my own experience
[00:04:32] waiting in line for Pirates of the Caribbean, which was of course my first attraction I visited on
[00:04:39] the ground. Yes. It was oddly touching to see the tree back and not behind a giant,
[00:04:51] scrim other tree or scrim with the music playing and all that stuff. I forgot how much I missed that.
[00:04:58] Yeah. Expect to spend some time with it is all I'll say because if you're listening to this,
[00:05:07] you will go to it and just, you know, it's, I guess the short version is
[00:05:17] they could have easily done a lot worse and they did not.
[00:05:22] Hmm. Okay. High praise.
[00:05:25] High praise. That is high praise. Yeah, that's true. It's a good point.
[00:05:29] And you also visited the Red Rose Tavern while you were there.
[00:05:32] I did. Convenient.
[00:05:36] Well, I mean, I'm not going to. I will get it. Yeah. I initially,
[00:05:43] I went in just to like take some pictures and be like, hey, what's that?
[00:05:46] And I saw a wood carving. Yeah, there's wood carvings in there. And I thought,
[00:05:54] I wonder if this is hand carved probably is and I turned to some cast members there and I said,
[00:05:59] hey, can I ask you a really nerdy question? And they looked at me like,
[00:06:04] and then they said, sure, go ahead.
[00:06:08] You know, what is the important news of what?
[00:06:11] Huh? And I said, are these hand carved? They said, yeah, I think so.
[00:06:17] And then they said, hey, so and so a guy who's been here longer than two weeks
[00:06:23] are, do you know if those are hand carved? And they looked at each other and
[00:06:27] the guy looked at another person that he was working with and they said,
[00:06:30] you know, who knows the answer to this question is David.
[00:06:34] And I was like, okay, is David available? They said, yes. I said, would David mind?
[00:06:40] Talking to me about this and possibly any other things about this place? Can I kind of explain
[00:06:46] what was going on and what the show is? And they gave each other and myself a look
[00:06:51] like, oh yeah, he will talk your ear off. Like as though it's a problem for them.
[00:06:58] But I was like, yeah, that's what I want. And we'll get into more of what David talked to
[00:07:03] me about in a little bit later in the show. After the break.
[00:07:08] We might have a scoop. I don't know.
[00:07:11] Scoop? Scoop-a-doop.
[00:07:14] Not of ice cream.
[00:07:15] Not of ice cream. No, no ice cream. Just a different scoop. So disappointing
[00:07:23] tool with no ice cream in it. Right?
[00:07:26] Great.
[00:07:27] I don't know. Sure. Hey, let's start the show.
[00:07:30] So, as you may have guessed, we are talking this episode about the Red Rose Tavern at Disneyland
[00:07:40] and the Pinocchio Village House at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.
[00:07:45] House.
[00:07:46] House. And there are-
[00:07:49] House.
[00:07:51] House.
[00:07:52] There you go.
[00:07:54] Just keep saying house.
[00:07:55] A lot.
[00:07:56] Get in the house.
[00:07:57] House.
[00:07:58] Now, if you're unfamiliar with what we do here, we talk nonsense and then eventually
[00:08:05] we get to a point. And the point that we get to has a sound associated with it.
[00:08:11] So, if I like something that Jimmy says as he's talking about his house-
[00:08:16] House.
[00:08:20] He will hear this sound.
[00:08:26] Yeah.
[00:08:26] All right. And if Dan says something that I particularly enjoy, you will hear this sound.
[00:08:36] Yep.
[00:08:36] Oh, okay. That one requires a little more explanation.
[00:08:40] For more explanation on what that is and where it came from, listen to Bowie's planning
[00:08:47] and wait for our hero's episode, which should happen in-
[00:08:51] Where can I listen to Bowie's planning?
[00:08:52] Roughly 10 months.
[00:08:54] Oh, great.
[00:08:56] So, if you're listening to this 10 months from now, just tune in now.
[00:09:01] No, this is entirely-
[00:09:03] This is an inside joke just for Eric.
[00:09:06] Okay.
[00:09:07] It's great.
[00:09:08] It's how you appeal.
[00:09:09] I won't get for a year.
[00:09:11] Well, and any Bowie fans listening to it-
[00:09:16] Listening to this, and I mean like actual, like they've listened to all the albums with Bowie
[00:09:20] fans, they know exactly what that is and why I chose it.
[00:09:24] You're welcome.
[00:09:24] Okay.
[00:09:26] Great.
[00:09:26] Mine, of course, is because you can see it's a small world from Pinocchio Village House.
[00:09:32] You sure can.
[00:09:34] I bet we'll talk about that at some point.
[00:09:35] Yes, please.
[00:09:36] I have a feeling it's going to go up quite a bit.
[00:09:40] Gosh.
[00:09:41] Okay. Well, apparently we're starting with Pinocchio because it existed earlier.
[00:09:49] It opened in 1971 with the park.
[00:09:53] Excellent.
[00:09:53] Well, kick us off, Jimmy.
[00:09:55] What are we doing here?
[00:09:57] All right.
[00:09:58] I'm going to give you an overview of the restaurant.
[00:10:01] Okay.
[00:10:01] And then we will do history.
[00:10:04] We'll do the dining area, the theming, etc.
[00:10:09] And then we will do the menu.
[00:10:12] Okay.
[00:10:12] And then perhaps the land impact.
[00:10:15] Okay.
[00:10:16] Okay.
[00:10:17] Actually before you get started, I'm thinking this episode might-
[00:10:21] It sounds like it might not go terribly long, so we could possibly get to Tiki rooms.
[00:10:28] I hadn't even thought about that.
[00:10:29] Okay.
[00:10:30] Okay.
[00:10:30] Let me pull out my notes here real quick.
[00:10:32] I got to dust off my notes too.
[00:10:34] Okay.
[00:10:34] All right.
[00:10:35] Okay.
[00:10:35] Okay.
[00:10:36] Overview.
[00:10:37] Pinocchio Village House restaurant is a counter-service restaurant located in Fancy
[00:10:43] Land at Magic Kingdom.
[00:10:44] Also, Disneyland Park in Paris is Au Chalet de la Marionette.
[00:10:50] And at Shanghai, it is Pinocchio Village Kitchen.
[00:10:53] It is decorated-
[00:10:55] Yeah.
[00:10:56] Not halls.
[00:10:57] Not the halls.
[00:10:57] China.
[00:10:59] In decor-
[00:10:59] It's decorated murals and images depicting characters from the 1940 animated feature film,
[00:11:04] Pinocchio.
[00:11:06] Its menu includes flatbread pizza, pasta, and chicken.
[00:11:12] Great.
[00:11:12] Good opening statement.
[00:11:12] I also have a very prepared opening statement.
[00:11:17] Great.
[00:11:20] This is a red rose tavern.
[00:11:25] Try the great stuff.
[00:11:25] It's delicious.
[00:11:28] And you would think that by now, I would always be paired with an overview.
[00:11:35] Did you try the pizza like our nuts friends?
[00:11:39] I was going to try the pizza but I don't really-
[00:11:43] I'm not a huge pizza fan and I'm not-
[00:11:46] I wanted to eat something that I wanted to eat.
[00:11:49] Let's see.
[00:11:52] Overview.
[00:11:53] It is a-
[00:11:54] It's kind of-
[00:11:55] Okay, it's very similar in a lot of ways.
[00:11:58] It used to be Pinocchio Village House.
[00:12:00] Yes, so the Pinocchio Village House.
[00:12:05] And so there's going to be a lot of this one too and then there's also going to be a
[00:12:10] lot of but it's different in this way relating to the change from the original.
[00:12:17] It was the Village House.
[00:12:19] Okay, let me start over.
[00:12:20] This used to be-
[00:12:22] Okay, Fantasyland.
[00:12:23] Well, you go to Disneyland.
[00:12:25] There's a castle.
[00:12:26] It's very small.
[00:12:27] All right, let's move on.
[00:12:34] All right, let me tell you the history for that.
[00:12:38] For Disneyland's small castle?
[00:12:40] A pretty good one for the very tiny castle that you can barely see
[00:12:44] when you're standing right in front of it.
[00:12:45] That's right.
[00:12:47] Let me share, regale you the history of Pinocchio Village House.
[00:12:52] It opened with the Magic Kingdom in 1971.
[00:12:57] Despite the Italian setting of the film,
[00:13:00] the restaurant would end up taking on a much more of a Bavarian Swiss architectural style,
[00:13:06] hence, hauls.
[00:13:07] Now, I'd like to give credit to Jack Spence for the following.
[00:13:12] Before I discuss the Pinocchio Village House,
[00:13:15] the counter service restaurant found in the Magic Kingdom,
[00:13:18] let me give you a little background about the Mammarianette, this eatery honors.
[00:13:22] I was fascinated by this, which is why I'm going to read it for you.
[00:13:25] Hmm.
[00:13:25] The original story of Pinocchio was written by Carlo Collori of India-
[00:13:31] India, Italy.
[00:13:32] His story tells of a woodcarver named Gioia.
[00:13:36] Gioia, who carves a marionette and dreams that someday his creation will become a real boy.
[00:13:42] The name Pinocchio means pine eye in Italian.
[00:13:47] Oh, the first half of Collori's story was written as a serial during the years of 1881-1882.
[00:13:57] Objection, you're not allowed to say his last name with the hard accent
[00:14:02] and then not say story with the exact same accent.
[00:14:06] Collori's story.
[00:14:07] Thank you.
[00:14:08] Thank you.
[00:14:09] It was a serial, like a series of stories from 81 to 82, 1881 to 1882.
[00:14:14] It was later expanded and completed as a children's book in February of 1883 called
[00:14:20] The Adventures of Pinocchio.
[00:14:22] Initially, Collori did not see children as the primary audience for his story
[00:14:27] as it dealt with more mature themes such as food, shelter, and the hardships of daily life.
[00:14:32] In fact, the tale takes on a very adult perspective at the end of the 15th chapter,
[00:14:37] the last of the serialized version of the story when Pinocchio is gruesomely hanged for his many
[00:14:42] faults.
[00:14:43] It was Collori's publisher.
[00:14:46] They hanged it.
[00:14:47] They hanged it?
[00:14:48] Yeah.
[00:14:49] Well, he's not a puppet after all.
[00:14:51] Well, anyway, Collori's publisher that requested the story be continued
[00:14:57] and Pinocchio be brought back to life and redeemed.
[00:15:00] See a theme here.
[00:15:02] Collori agreed and introduced the fairy with Turquoise hair to perform this magic.
[00:15:09] It's in the second half of the book that the tale begins to lean more towards children's
[00:15:14] literature.
[00:15:15] The Adventures of Pinocchio was brought to Walt's attention in 1937
[00:15:19] during the making of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
[00:15:22] Walt read the book and immediately knew he wanted to animate the story.
[00:15:26] Bambi was to be the studio's second animated movie, but the book was proving
[00:15:31] difficult to adapt to film and would require more time than expected.
[00:15:35] The project was put on temporary hold.
[00:15:38] This opened up a spot for Pinocchio.
[00:15:41] In the beginning, the Disney script writers used many of Collori's characters
[00:15:45] and plot points as described in his book.
[00:15:47] But this wasn't working as the original tale was much too harsh.
[00:15:53] After Walt read some of the early drafts, he became unhappy with the direction the project
[00:15:57] was taking and put a halt to production until the story and characters could be rethought.
[00:16:02] One of the first changes came to Pinocchio himself.
[00:16:06] Collori's character was a wisecracking sarcastic individual.
[00:16:12] He was tall and lanky.
[00:16:14] He had a pointy nose and wore a dunce cap.
[00:16:17] Walt realized that audiences would not be sympathetic to such a persona
[00:16:21] and would probably cheer his hanging.
[00:16:26] Walt realized the audience would not be sympathetic and would probably cheer his hanging.
[00:16:30] Okay, so Walt asked lead animator Mitt Call,
[00:16:33] Milt Call, excuse me, to redesign his protagonist.
[00:16:36] The revised character looked much more like a real boy.
[00:16:39] First, Pinocchio went from a tall adult-like stature to a shorter child-like height.
[00:16:45] The dunce cap became a Tyrolean hat.
[00:16:50] Tyrolean, Tyrolean.
[00:16:52] Oh, Tyrolean.
[00:16:53] Saying that right.
[00:16:55] What is a Tyrolean hat?
[00:16:57] It's the one he wears.
[00:16:57] Tyrian Lannister is from the...
[00:17:00] Oh, oh yes.
[00:17:01] That's right.
[00:17:01] It's the one, if you picture Pinocchio from, that's what a Tyrolean hat is.
[00:17:04] His long thin nose was transformed into a much smaller and charming feature
[00:17:08] and he went from five skinny fingers to four pudgy ones.
[00:17:12] Of course we all know a typical cartoon character.
[00:17:14] That's right.
[00:17:15] An extra adaptation with four fingers saves money.
[00:17:17] That's right, because he only has four fingers.
[00:17:20] Only his arms and legs retained a puppet-like appearance
[00:17:23] and with angular dimensions and joints at the elbows and the knees.
[00:17:27] His personality also went under the knife, so to speak,
[00:17:31] and Pinocchio emerged as an innocent, naive, and caring individual.
[00:17:36] Jiminy Cricket.
[00:17:37] Can I tell you about Tyrolean hats?
[00:17:39] Yes, please.
[00:17:40] Okay.
[00:17:41] The Tyrolean hat in German, it's...
[00:17:44] Tirolerhut.
[00:17:45] And in Italian, it's cappello alpino.
[00:17:49] So, Tirolerhut brings that German kind of thing that this restaurant kind of took on.
[00:17:55] Yeah, it's something that...
[00:17:58] It's a felt hat and it's Pinocchio's hat.
[00:18:01] Yeah.
[00:18:01] There you go.
[00:18:01] That's it.
[00:18:02] Like you said.
[00:18:03] Thank you.
[00:18:04] Jiminy Cricket also went through a transformation.
[00:18:06] Get this.
[00:18:06] In Cullodi's version, Jiminy was a minor character
[00:18:09] and fall more cricket-like in appearance.
[00:18:11] He was known only as the talking cricket
[00:18:14] and was killed accidentally when Pinocchio threw a hammer at him.
[00:18:18] Such a great story.
[00:18:20] Ward Kimball altered Jiminy's appearance to resemble a small dapper man minus ears.
[00:18:25] Ward would say, the only thing that makes him a cricket is because we call him one.
[00:18:31] Okay.
[00:18:31] There you go.
[00:18:32] Fair.
[00:18:32] Yeah.
[00:18:33] Almost done.
[00:18:34] Pinocchio was released on February 7th, 1940 and received generally positive reviews.
[00:18:38] However, the movie did not make as much money as its predecessor Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.
[00:18:43] A large part of the movie's financial failure was due to the outbreak of World War II,
[00:18:47] which cut off European and Asian markets to American films.
[00:18:50] When You Wish Upon a Star became a major hit and won an Academy Award for Best Original Score
[00:18:56] or Song, the melody has since become the representative song of the Walt Disney Company.
[00:19:02] Disney offers copious amounts of information when it comes to detailing their rides and
[00:19:07] attractions. Books have been written on this subject, but when it comes to their restaurants
[00:19:11] and shops, facts are difficult to come by.
[00:19:14] This isn't a...
[00:19:15] Jim, before you move on, I have a little bit of something about...
[00:19:18] Turrolean hats?
[00:19:21] Yeah.
[00:19:21] No, about how the decor looks vaguely German.
[00:19:26] It is actually Bavarian and it is inspired, and this applies to both.
[00:19:31] It's inspired by the village in Pinocchio, and the reason why the village in Pinocchio looks
[00:19:39] so Bavarian is because that's the sort of architecture that they had researched the most
[00:19:48] for Snow White.
[00:19:50] There you go.
[00:19:51] So, they were...
[00:19:52] And part of the Alps are in Italy, so why not?
[00:19:58] Yeah, if you look...
[00:19:59] I'll get into this a little bit more, but if you look at a map of where Bavaria is and
[00:20:08] from what I've seen, from what I've been able to tell, Pinocchio, the story supposedly took
[00:20:14] place in Northern Italy, which is close to the Alps, and Bavaria is close to the Alps.
[00:20:20] It just happens that France is close to the Alps too.
[00:20:22] There's a connection.
[00:20:24] And it's in the Alps, the Matterhorn.
[00:20:30] Yes, I do have more about that in the restaurant theming.
[00:20:33] The only last thing I had to say is that a figure of Figaro was added to the exterior
[00:20:37] balcony in late January 2022.
[00:20:40] Oh, that's funny.
[00:20:42] Is it a painting or was it again?
[00:20:45] It's a figure.
[00:20:46] It's a figure.
[00:20:47] Okay, that's fun.
[00:20:48] That's interesting because...
[00:20:49] It's a Figaro.
[00:20:50] ...the thing that I have.
[00:20:52] All right, that's the history of Village Haus.
[00:20:56] All right.
[00:20:57] Excellent.
[00:20:58] Well, in seven minutes, jobs are going to open up that I need to look for.
[00:21:02] So be ready to talk amongst yourselves.
[00:21:04] Until then, history of Disneyland, Fantasyland restaurants, again, it's all behind a tiny castle.
[00:21:13] You can see everything behind the tiny castle from Main Street because the castle is so tiny.
[00:21:19] There used to be a little thing called the Chicken of the Sea Pirate Chip.
[00:21:22] And I'm just giving you some placeholder stuff.
[00:21:26] That was where Dumbo is now, but where Dumbo used to be is kind of right where this thing is.
[00:21:35] This thing being the former Village House, now Red Rose Tavern,
[00:21:40] knee with an E. There's an E.
[00:21:43] There was also a Welch's Grape Juice Bar.
[00:21:46] And as soon as I saw that, I was like, ah, that's what it used to be.
[00:21:49] Nope.
[00:21:50] The Welch's Grape Juice Bar was in between the Snow White Ride and the Fantasyland Theater.
[00:21:58] So you could go watch your friends at the Fantasyland Theater with the Grape Juice
[00:22:02] all over your lips just like Asher.
[00:22:04] And then, so they've been, they were talking about this theater thing kind of needs to go.
[00:22:10] What if we put a ride in there?
[00:22:11] What if we put Pinocchio in there?
[00:22:14] And along comes the time for New Fanty to be built in 1983.
[00:22:20] Let's see if I have more on history.
[00:22:24] 1983 comes around, they're like, hey, this is a wonderful opportunity.
[00:22:28] What if we re-themed the entirety of Fantasyland, all the architecture,
[00:22:32] to this Bavarian style from Pinocchio?
[00:22:35] You know where we kind of did that is in Disney World.
[00:22:39] So what if we, oh, hey, look, there's a Village House over there.
[00:22:43] So what if we have one of those?
[00:22:46] And hey, we can also do that Pinocchio ride that we know and love so much.
[00:22:50] And so they did.
[00:22:52] They opened up Pinocchio Ride.
[00:22:53] It's there.
[00:22:54] It's awesome.
[00:22:55] And the Village House opened its doors.
[00:22:59] Now, let's see a lot of these, a lot of the Red Roast Tavern.
[00:23:07] I don't want to underplay the things that they did do,
[00:23:11] but they didn't do a whole lot in terms of changing.
[00:23:14] They used to be a Jopettos Workshop sort of theme.
[00:23:19] That's not true.
[00:23:20] What is actually true is the Jopettos Workshop was next door.
[00:23:24] It was kind of a toy shop and there was wood stuff.
[00:23:29] It was the shop with two P's and an E.
[00:23:31] What?
[00:23:32] Was the shop with two P's and an E?
[00:23:34] If it's not, then it should be.
[00:23:36] Agreed.
[00:23:37] Very fancy.
[00:23:39] It used to have little things like burgers.
[00:23:42] They got a bacon cheeseburger, red cheeseburger,
[00:23:44] cheese, regular cheeseburger, pepperoni pizza, cheese pizza,
[00:23:48] all sorts of salads, turkey salad,
[00:23:50] to Turkey Club sandwich, chef's salad.
[00:23:53] I really turned the chef into a salad, fruit salad, side salad.
[00:23:57] And they eventually expanded the menu a bit
[00:24:00] to the more refined Gelford de Bellet.
[00:24:04] They added a pastrami cheeseburger.
[00:24:06] They had a chicken sausage on pretzel roll.
[00:24:09] What else do I have here?
[00:24:10] They started introducing flat bread pizza,
[00:24:15] not flat bed pizza.
[00:24:16] That's a truck.
[00:24:18] There was also, they introduced a grilled chicken sandwich.
[00:24:22] This was about the time that Disneyland decided,
[00:24:25] hey, what if our food was actually good?
[00:24:27] And they started adding more of those things.
[00:24:30] Disney World has yet to make that distinction
[00:24:33] from what I understand.
[00:24:35] There were murals depicting events and characters from Pinocchio.
[00:24:40] Many of them were made to look like tapestries.
[00:24:42] And this was sort of piggybacking onto a lot of the things
[00:24:47] they did with fake texture in Epcot Center,
[00:24:52] with that looks like a thing that it's not.
[00:24:57] So you got that.
[00:24:58] I think there's a lot of the details there
[00:25:02] Jimmy's gonna get into because it was all kind
[00:25:04] of the same stuff laid out differently.
[00:25:06] One interesting thing is that the signage was hand carved
[00:25:13] by a person who did a lot of hand carving for the Walt Disney Company.
[00:25:18] Probably did the same things in both places,
[00:25:20] so I'm not gonna try to grab points for that.
[00:25:23] One interesting thing is when you mention Figaro,
[00:25:28] is that's my alarm to check with them.
[00:25:32] Do you want to check your thing while I give a fun fact?
[00:25:34] Give a fun fact.
[00:25:35] For those of you behind the scenes cast member only spotlight.
[00:25:43] If you're staring at the Red Rose Tavern, to the right is a restaurant.
[00:25:48] To the right of that is two very large doors.
[00:25:53] This is a cast member entrance, also a way to convey things to backstage from backstage.
[00:26:00] If you were to go through the left door,
[00:26:03] you're walking towards Frontierland and go through the left door.
[00:26:06] That is a cast member alleyway.
[00:26:09] And to the left is a cast member window where you can order food from this restaurant
[00:26:14] as a cast member without being on stage.
[00:26:17] Oh, like a back so little back side.
[00:26:20] Yeah, same food, better price.
[00:26:22] And I assume it's still there because why wouldn't it be?
[00:26:26] Did you order from there frequently?
[00:26:29] I did, I sure did.
[00:26:30] I really like the Village House.
[00:26:31] Dan and I would go every time and of course call it Village House
[00:26:36] because it's H-A-U-S going with the Bavarian theme.
[00:26:40] I can add this because it doesn't take looking at notes.
[00:26:45] Their fries used to be the most wonderful fries to dip mayonnaise in
[00:26:51] or dip into mayonnaise.
[00:26:52] You know what I mean?
[00:26:53] Yeah, mayonnaise.
[00:26:54] And you're Belgian.
[00:26:55] And you can add a little ketchup and you've got what they call in Utah fry sauce.
[00:27:02] Of course, it's just more seasonings and whatnot.
[00:27:04] And add Tapatio and you have Manateo.
[00:27:08] Yeah.
[00:27:10] I still have a minute before checking.
[00:27:13] I did this kind of...
[00:27:16] Well, are you grasping at historical straws?
[00:27:19] Should I go back?
[00:27:20] Should I go to the actual tiny?
[00:27:22] Okay, if I'm being really honest, I have one really cool thing
[00:27:25] involving Figueroa.
[00:27:26] Noon, hold on.
[00:27:28] Okay.
[00:27:28] By the way, listener, if this is still in, you can also listen to this podcast at any time of day.
[00:27:34] And then it doesn't have to be noon.
[00:27:35] It doesn't have to be noon on a Saturday.
[00:27:37] Any day of the week, any time of day.
[00:27:40] What a great service we offer.
[00:27:43] I mean, this is the flexibility that we offer to you.
[00:27:47] Okay.
[00:27:47] So, speaking of Figueroa, there was an interesting thing that happened.
[00:27:52] They built two doors right next to each other.
[00:27:57] So, they make like an arch, like two arches, right?
[00:28:01] You've seen McDonald's, you know what that is, except make it wood, make it brown,
[00:28:06] and make them doors.
[00:28:07] So, they had an exit sign that they had to put because of state law.
[00:28:13] They put the exit sign above those two doors.
[00:28:17] Now, where would you imagine they would put that exit sign between those two doors?
[00:28:23] Would it be if your answer is heavily towards the right-hand door?
[00:28:32] That is correct because when you have two arches right next to each other
[00:28:37] and you want to put any sort of signage in between them, the proper placement is
[00:28:43] to the right.
[00:28:43] Off center.
[00:28:44] Not in the middle.
[00:28:46] So, that's weird.
[00:28:47] Yeah.
[00:28:48] People noticed it and it got really weird and they're like, okay, we need to fix this.
[00:28:53] So, instead of rebuilding the entire structure, they made a painting of Figueroa
[00:28:59] pulling the exit sign.
[00:29:01] It's still where it is, but Figueroa has pulled it to the right from the center.
[00:29:07] What's that?
[00:29:08] It looks like Figueroa has pulled it from the center where it should be to the right.
[00:29:11] No, Figueroa is, I'm looking at a picture of it right now,
[00:29:14] Figueroa is trying to pull the exit sign to the center and he's looking at us and winking.
[00:29:21] Is Figueroa here or is she?
[00:29:24] It's a good question.
[00:29:25] Figueroa is looking at us, winking like, yeah, I know.
[00:29:29] To this day, despite the re-theme.
[00:29:33] Oh, to this day, so now it has been replaced with
[00:29:39] What are you doing in history?
[00:29:39] Stupid little dog's name.
[00:29:42] Max?
[00:29:42] No, that's no more.
[00:29:43] Ottoman.
[00:29:45] Sultan.
[00:29:48] So now it's Sultan doing it.
[00:29:54] So, if Sultan could talk, he would of course say, oh no, try to please stop, it's too easy.
[00:30:04] There it is.
[00:30:08] Yeah, so then the history is getting into more interesting things.
[00:30:13] It was the Village House and then in February of 2017, they made a temporary switch to celebrate
[00:30:18] the release of the live action film, which is entirely live action.
[00:30:23] There's no animation in it.
[00:30:27] And it was the first time that we got the gray stuff on the West Coast and apparently it is delicious.
[00:30:33] You did not try it when you dined there this week?
[00:30:35] What?
[00:30:36] You didn't try it this week when you dined there?
[00:30:38] No, I don't.
[00:30:39] Okay.
[00:30:40] I don't do my dining options based on what we're doing.
[00:30:45] I'm hungry.
[00:30:47] I wanted what I wanted.
[00:30:51] He just wanted to talk with all the cast members.
[00:30:53] Yeah, I felt like that's plenty.
[00:30:56] The menu was also expanded to include French-inspired food.
[00:31:02] They had poutine that's not there anymore, sadly,
[00:31:05] and other things that you would think I would put on the list, but I was depressed.
[00:31:12] And then in 2018, any reference to it being temporary was removed and the Red Rose Tavern
[00:31:20] found its new home in Fantasyland behind the smallest castle ever built.
[00:31:28] Delightful.
[00:31:29] Well, great histories both of you.
[00:31:32] Yes, indeed.
[00:31:33] Thank you.
[00:31:34] We generally don't award points for histories.
[00:31:37] That's correct.
[00:31:38] So let's continue then.
[00:31:41] All right, I figure a good point.
[00:31:44] If I were judged, yeah.
[00:31:46] The Figaro, I mean, that is awfully clever and it still exists.
[00:31:55] There we go.
[00:31:56] Let's get the rest of three of the whole show.
[00:31:59] Okay, we'll hear it again.
[00:32:02] You will.
[00:32:03] Yeah.
[00:32:04] Okay, so the dining room, dining area, general decor of the village house.
[00:32:10] Now, Village House can be found in the back of Fantasyland, the Magic Kingdom's food
[00:32:15] facility feeds thousands of people a day.
[00:32:18] The original story of Pinocchio, which we talked about before, was set in the Tuscan region of Italy.
[00:32:24] So it's always been really interesting that the Imagineers chose Bavarian architecture
[00:32:28] to house the restaurant.
[00:32:29] Dan touched on it a little bit.
[00:32:31] Perhaps it was Pinocchio's newly acquired Tyrolean hat that inspired the Disney film
[00:32:38] storytellers to move the film's action north in Italy and the Alps.
[00:32:43] The images from the movie Pinocchio, the architecture hint set an Alpine village.
[00:32:48] However, the actual buildings of Fantasyland have a much stronger German feel than Italian.
[00:32:55] In addition, the Italian influence of the story is also downplayed at the Magic Kingdom
[00:32:59] with the inclusion of the German word Haus in the restaurant's name.
[00:33:04] Despite the fact that Imagineers used questionable architecture for the Pinocchio Village House,
[00:33:10] it helps to understand their overall intent when designing Fantasyland.
[00:33:14] Fantasyland is a make-believe place, obviously.
[00:33:17] It's supposed to represent a quaint European village
[00:33:20] that encompasses a number of different regions all protected by the walls of Cinderella Castle,
[00:33:25] which is massive and overwhelming.
[00:33:29] Gotty, to be honest.
[00:33:31] For example.
[00:33:32] All these castles are terrible.
[00:33:34] Nobody likes these things anymore.
[00:33:36] I've decided to Goldilocks the castle.
[00:33:41] What is it? Just right?
[00:33:43] For example, Mickey's Philharmagic, Peter Pan, and It's a Small World feature a medieval
[00:33:49] tournament look, while Castle Couture, Sir Mickey's, and Seven Dwarves' Mine exhibit
[00:33:54] the attributes of English Tudor.
[00:33:58] It takes a very large building to house a counter-service restaurant.
[00:34:01] However, a structure of this size would not have been found in medieval Europe,
[00:34:05] so Imagineers designed the exterior to look like several buildings.
[00:34:10] This can be seen in subtle changes in architecture from one building,
[00:34:14] to the next, and the different colored roofing tiles and shingles.
[00:34:19] Upon closer examination, it would appear that some of these structures were designed as
[00:34:22] places of business while others' dwellings.
[00:34:26] Of course, during this era, most business owners lived above their shops.
[00:34:30] The numerous weather veins atop the roofs would represent the various families living below.
[00:34:35] The word village in the restaurant's name also helps convey that these are numerous
[00:34:39] small structures not one large building.
[00:34:42] And I have more on this.
[00:34:44] Outside of these shops, quote unquote, which is the restaurant facade
[00:34:48] and homes, is the village square.
[00:34:51] This is marked by a fountain slash well.
[00:34:53] Wells were often found in the middle of town and would be the place for the local
[00:34:57] citizenry to gather, gossip, trade, and obtain fresh water.
[00:35:00] There are also numerous tables and chairs in this area for outdoor dining.
[00:35:04] So this is one of the areas you can dine outdoors in the delightful Florida sun.
[00:35:10] By the way, just for the sake of brevity,
[00:35:14] basically everything Jimmy is saying in terms of structures and in terms of the decor,
[00:35:20] right?
[00:35:20] It was tavern, essentially the same smaller beauty in the beast.
[00:35:25] Yeah, and outside is much more pleasant.
[00:35:29] Also nearby is a bell tower.
[00:35:31] And this is this Disney version contains an actual real carillon.
[00:35:36] In days of old, bells were used to sound the hour and announce special events.
[00:35:40] The carillon at the Pinocchio Village house can be heard every quarter hour.
[00:35:46] Isn't that fun?
[00:35:47] Making it feel like a village.
[00:35:49] I don't know that I've ever...
[00:35:52] You haven't heard the carillon?
[00:35:54] I mean, I've been there so many times.
[00:35:56] I just don't think I ever realized that's a real bell.
[00:36:00] Yep, it's an actual working carillon bell.
[00:36:02] Is it possibly because you were paying more attention to the giant
[00:36:10] clock in a small world that was also going on every quarter hour?
[00:36:14] Can't see it unless you walk through there.
[00:36:15] No, probably not.
[00:36:18] I just didn't ever realized it was a real bell.
[00:36:21] Yes, it's a real...
[00:36:22] And not to be mistaken, not to be confused with the beauty in the beast.
[00:36:26] It's a different bell.
[00:36:28] A different bell and not to be confused with the Liberty Bell
[00:36:32] in Liberty Square nearby around the corner.
[00:36:37] The Pinocchio Village house has entrances on all sides of the building.
[00:36:41] In most cases, these are used for both in and out access.
[00:36:45] However, during busy times, cast members will man these doors for better crowd control.
[00:36:50] The main entrance will be used as the only entrance while the side doors for exit only.
[00:36:56] In addition, people will not be allowed into the dining rooms until they have their food in hand.
[00:37:03] This may seem rather strange, but it actually helps keep more tables available.
[00:37:07] If guests are allowed to hold tables while waiting for others in their group to order meals,
[00:37:12] the table is out of service, quote unquote, yet not being used for food consumption.
[00:37:17] Believe it or not, this isn't your best interest.
[00:37:20] Spoilers for future people want to grab specific tables.
[00:37:26] Okay, so the ordering area, right?
[00:37:27] This is the main room we're going to talk about at the first room.
[00:37:30] The ordering area was designed to resemble a large open-air courtyard,
[00:37:34] while although it's completely indoors, Florida, the lighted ceiling represents the sky and it is
[00:37:40] lined with tiled and shingled roofs so it feels like you're in an open courtyard.
[00:37:45] Timbered walls, stained glass windows, and ever-blooming flower boxes complete the appearance
[00:37:50] of a village square. A stringless Pinocchio looks down from above with food and drink in hand,
[00:37:56] so you know it's a restaurant.
[00:37:58] What food and drink does he have?
[00:38:02] Why would you ask me that question, Eric?
[00:38:04] I'm curious.
[00:38:05] How dare you?
[00:38:08] Dan's going to look it up.
[00:38:09] Does he have a big beer like he does?
[00:38:10] He does, a pleasure.
[00:38:11] There are Steins in this restaurant which we'll get to.
[00:38:14] While Dan looks that up, the Pinocchio Village house has a number of dining rooms
[00:38:20] each named for an, excuse me, named for and themed after a particular character.
[00:38:27] The largest of these, what's the largest you ask?
[00:38:30] It is the Stromboli room.
[00:38:32] Looks like a stone and a slice of cake.
[00:38:38] A slice of cake.
[00:38:43] I like it.
[00:38:44] Now there are two different accounts pertaining to the function of the Stromboli room,
[00:38:49] given that it exists in a real alpine village.
[00:38:52] First, it could be a tavern.
[00:38:54] This can be deduced by the rooms decor with the chandeliers and the mugs
[00:38:58] and the beer steins found in the overhead shelving.
[00:39:01] The other account states in an outdoor puppet theater and this could be reasoned.
[00:39:05] This just in, this just in.
[00:39:07] Apparently the slice of cake is being replaced with an apple.
[00:39:11] Nice.
[00:39:14] Another point for that.
[00:39:15] Very healthy.
[00:39:16] So healthy.
[00:39:16] Very healthy.
[00:39:17] Well doesn't he carry an apple in the movie to his teacher?
[00:39:19] A very healthy boy he does.
[00:39:21] Well yeah, but that just shows,
[00:39:23] goes to show you that he's eating his teacher's apple
[00:39:25] after he probably killed the teacher.
[00:39:28] Boy the original for sure.
[00:39:29] He's a fake child and a liar.
[00:39:33] So I can't wait until we hang him.
[00:39:35] That's right.
[00:39:39] So the other theory is it's an outdoor puppet theater,
[00:39:41] which can be reasoned by the several,
[00:39:43] there are several aspects in the room.
[00:39:44] So there's large stained glass windows that separate the Stromboli room
[00:39:48] from the ordering counters and they feature marionettes in various poses.
[00:39:52] In the balcony on the other side of the room would be the puppeteer's catwalk,
[00:39:57] the area where he would control the marionettes.
[00:40:00] And finally a large fresco on the wall which reads,
[00:40:03] Stromboli presents Pinocchio the Stringless Puppet.
[00:40:07] Since I don't have access to the Imagineers thoughts on the subject,
[00:40:10] I have no idea which if either account is correct,
[00:40:12] but in the grand scheme of things it really doesn't matter.
[00:40:17] The atmosphere is fun and lively in this room.
[00:40:19] Nice.
[00:40:19] Others, go ahead.
[00:40:21] I said nice that's all.
[00:40:23] Other smaller dining rooms flank both sides of the ordering area.
[00:40:26] Each of these rooms pay homage to a different Pinocchio character with colorful frescoes.
[00:40:31] These rooms include the Blue Fairy,
[00:40:34] Gepetto, Clio, Figuero, Jiminy Cricket and Monstro.
[00:40:39] If you ever dine in this restaurant,
[00:40:41] take a look at some of the charming frescoes found throughout the restaurant.
[00:40:45] They tell the story of Pinocchio and if you take the time to look at them all like I did.
[00:40:50] I think I will give you a point for telling the story of the movie
[00:40:54] that the restaurant is kind of based on.
[00:40:58] Figuero is a cat.
[00:41:00] Yes, we're not sure if Figuero is male or female though.
[00:41:04] We haven't gotten that.
[00:41:04] Now Clio is definitely female.
[00:41:08] The sexy fish?
[00:41:09] The sexy fish.
[00:41:12] She's got eyelashes.
[00:41:14] And big lips.
[00:41:15] Big, juicy lips.
[00:41:17] Weirdly seductive that fish.
[00:41:19] Sexy fish.
[00:41:20] Oh my god.
[00:41:21] All right.
[00:41:22] So instead of...
[00:41:23] It really is.
[00:41:24] Like it's very clear the animators made the fish sexy,
[00:41:29] which I think is a bold move.
[00:41:30] That was a great choice for the 30s.
[00:41:35] Yes, indeed.
[00:41:38] Well, instead of frescoes in the sexy fish room,
[00:41:44] it features stained glass.
[00:41:45] This is really cool.
[00:41:46] It's a feature stained glass to give her a watery atmosphere.
[00:41:49] So it feels like you're looking through glass.
[00:41:50] How many old curved like servicemen like...
[00:41:53] Look at that fish.
[00:41:54] Yeah, yeah.
[00:41:56] I don't want to eat it.
[00:41:57] Maybe it won't eat.
[00:41:59] Never mind.
[00:42:00] Like they're in the war and they're like,
[00:42:02] I got my picture of the fish.
[00:42:05] It wasn't during World War II.
[00:42:10] Right in home to their best gal,
[00:42:12] the fish from the no deal.
[00:42:15] Deer.
[00:42:15] Sexy fish.
[00:42:17] My, my dearest Delilah.
[00:42:20] I cannot wait until I'm in your arms once again.
[00:42:25] In the meantime, I've become a Civil War veteran and I have this picture of this sexy fish
[00:42:34] that reminds me of you.
[00:42:37] I've lived to the picture of the fish out to many of the servicemen
[00:42:41] I serve with here in the Civil War times.
[00:42:48] When I return, would you be so kind to cut gills into your neck?
[00:42:53] Whoa.
[00:42:54] Wow.
[00:42:55] Well, anyway, but so did I leave the stove on?
[00:43:03] Check this or no and return the letter to me.
[00:43:07] Thank you.
[00:43:08] Goodbye.
[00:43:10] Oh, plastic surgery.
[00:43:11] I'm sure you can make you look more like a sexy fish.
[00:43:13] That's right.
[00:43:14] Didn't Liberace do that to his, to his boy, one of his boy.
[00:43:17] I think it's the one thing he didn't do surgery was.
[00:43:20] Not well, not the gills, but he didn't he make him do plastic surgery?
[00:43:24] Oh yeah, to look like him.
[00:43:26] Oh yes, that's right.
[00:43:27] The sexy fish.
[00:43:30] Liberace wanted his boyfriend to look like Liberace.
[00:43:34] I'd like you to look more like a sexy fish.
[00:43:37] Anyway, in the Cleo room, there's stained glass to make you feel like you're in a fish bowl.
[00:43:43] Also, the room has a number of cuckoo clocks, which is something Jebedo enjoyed making.
[00:43:49] Don't forget about J. Worthington Fowlfellow or Honest John and Gideon.
[00:43:55] They've not been forgotten and they can be seen in a beautiful wood carving.
[00:44:00] Perhaps the most sought after dining area can be found in the Monstro room.
[00:44:07] This is because seven of the tables in this section of the restaurant sit beside windows
[00:44:13] that overlook it's a small world loading area and boat launch.
[00:44:19] All right, here's your point.
[00:44:21] Well, well, well, hold on, hold on.
[00:44:23] Before you go there, I know that you're very happy with your seven tables that can see
[00:44:31] a part of an attraction.
[00:44:33] But may I remind you?
[00:44:34] A line leading up to the attraction.
[00:44:36] Don't forget about the line, Dan.
[00:44:38] But may I remind you?
[00:44:39] And you also get to hear that song over and over again.
[00:44:44] No, you can't hear it.
[00:44:46] Oh, well, that's good.
[00:44:47] They're closed in windows.
[00:44:50] So when I went to research the Red Rose Tavern, I knew that this was going to be
[00:44:56] a major part of the argument.
[00:44:59] And I'm standing around and I'm looking over that way.
[00:45:04] There's Casey Jr.
[00:45:06] And you can see the entire, you can see many parts of the ride.
[00:45:11] Hey, over that way.
[00:45:12] Is that your turn?
[00:45:12] Oh, look, there's Dumbo.
[00:45:14] It's not over there.
[00:45:16] What?
[00:45:16] It's not your turn.
[00:45:18] I'm just saying, before we award points for this one,
[00:45:23] okay, this one very cute aspect of this restaurant.
[00:45:27] Can I finish my point?
[00:45:28] Can I finish my point before you get to yours?
[00:45:30] Let me finish.
[00:45:31] Okay.
[00:45:32] It's very popular.
[00:45:33] You can see it's a small world.
[00:45:34] All right, that's fine.
[00:45:36] You don't have to award points yet, but I want to finish my point.
[00:45:39] There are signs made by the cast members that give directions for the people in the boats.
[00:45:46] So you can hold up a sign that says like, do YMCA and the people in the boats do the YMCA.
[00:45:52] So you can interact with the guests in the ride itself, the end.
[00:45:57] Right.
[00:45:58] So if you happen to sit at one of those seven tables,
[00:46:01] you can hold up, you can grab those dirty, dirty signs while you were eating the food with your hands
[00:46:08] and you can irritate people on the boat.
[00:46:13] While at Disneyland, if you sit outside, you have more than seven, at least, I would say at least 14.
[00:46:24] But probably more.
[00:46:25] Let me fact check you on this.
[00:46:26] The tables where you could look over there and you could say, oh, look, there's Casey Jr.
[00:46:32] Oh, look, there's Dumbo.
[00:46:34] Oh, look, there's the carousel.
[00:46:35] There's a bathroom.
[00:46:36] And by the, yeah, it has a bathroom.
[00:46:40] All right.
[00:46:41] And by the way, if you look outside at Walt Disney World, can you also see other things?
[00:46:46] Exactly.
[00:46:47] You can see other attractions, Mickey's Philharmonic.
[00:46:50] You can see.
[00:46:51] Which is inside.
[00:46:52] Peter Pan.
[00:46:53] Which is inside.
[00:46:54] This is a flight.
[00:46:56] You can see the carousel.
[00:46:57] Which is not inside.
[00:46:59] You can see the back of a glorious, magnificent castle.
[00:47:03] That's the perfect size.
[00:47:05] I'm not, yeah, and your jaw will be open the whole time intimidated.
[00:47:08] You'll never, you'll never be able to chew your food in your show.
[00:47:11] Your flatbread falls right out of your mouth.
[00:47:13] You'll have to bow a constrictor your food.
[00:47:16] No, I think, so I'm not trying to, I'm not trying to grab points for my restaurant.
[00:47:22] I'm just pointing out that, like, if it's, if we're going to make such a big deal out of,
[00:47:27] like, ooh, you can see part of it's a small world.
[00:47:29] It's like, well, yeah, you can see characters.
[00:47:33] Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, you can see.
[00:47:35] You can see the entrance of it.
[00:47:36] Belt.
[00:47:37] You can see the ride.
[00:47:38] Okay.
[00:47:40] The point is, you can see things from other things every week.
[00:47:42] That walls in the way, never mind.
[00:47:44] But there are bathrooms at Village House too, by the way.
[00:47:46] Okay.
[00:47:47] So you bet one thing that you can see at Disneyland that is unique
[00:47:52] to Disneyland is you can see, oh, the Pertley Band riding the carousel.
[00:47:57] You can see other characters riding the carousel.
[00:47:59] You can see characters interacting with all the joyous children throughout all of Fancyland
[00:48:05] because you are in the middle of Fancyland because.
[00:48:07] Jimmy, are there joyous children at the Magic Kingdom?
[00:48:10] No, no, they're not allowed.
[00:48:12] No.
[00:48:13] But I'm sure there are any number of organs playing at any given time, right?
[00:48:20] What's the organ thing you talk about?
[00:48:22] Oh, band organ.
[00:48:25] The band organ.
[00:48:26] There's multiple band organs playing at once.
[00:48:30] I'm just saying we're talking about seven.
[00:48:34] It's cute.
[00:48:35] Seven tables out of like 300 tables.
[00:48:40] And on top of that, you're going to be elbowing all sorts of cairns to get there.
[00:48:44] That's also true.
[00:48:46] Unless it's busy, in which case it's the cast members control the flow of who sits where,
[00:48:52] like we talked about before.
[00:48:53] So if it's not busy, you can just jump in.
[00:48:55] If it is busy, then it's wherever they put you.
[00:48:58] There's also, Eric, there's also an upstairs dining area and upstairs balcony.
[00:49:05] In addition to the downstairs patio, you know, village square thing with the
[00:49:09] Waterfall Fountain thing.
[00:49:10] And one last thing about the dining room.
[00:49:14] If you dine in the Village House, make sure to look for the wish book in the dining area.
[00:49:19] This book is located in the back left side of the restaurant.
[00:49:23] And there so that you can write your wishes inside.
[00:49:28] You can write a little wish book in there.
[00:49:29] Dan, can you write wishes at...
[00:49:32] Can you write a wish that you wish you were watching the movie Wish at your restaurant?
[00:49:38] I mean, they have napkins and I'm sure if you ask nicely,
[00:49:41] the cast member will give you a pen to write with.
[00:49:46] Where can I leave my wish?
[00:49:50] Could you please drop this and it's a small world vote for me.
[00:49:54] You know what I learned recently is that the main character Asha from Wish
[00:50:00] is Ariana DeBose, Academy Award-winning actress who won the award for playing Anita in West Side Story.
[00:50:08] She's a delight.
[00:50:09] She is.
[00:50:10] Yes.
[00:50:11] So I'm not trying to say that the small world viewing thing is not a thing.
[00:50:16] I just think that it doesn't need to be as big a thing.
[00:50:21] To be fair, you've made a bigger deal out of it than I was going to.
[00:50:24] No, I know.
[00:50:26] That's what I do.
[00:50:26] I enjoy your argument.
[00:50:28] I actually don't think I want to give it a point now because of the lack of seating right there.
[00:50:36] Yeah, and Seven's probably generous.
[00:50:39] Yeah, that feels like a lot.
[00:50:42] I counted in the question video.
[00:50:44] It's been like a year since I was in that place.
[00:50:47] I have a video or I have a picture that I'm going to try to find unless Dan tells me otherwise.
[00:50:52] One of the great things about Disney, these counter service restaurants, and this is true
[00:50:56] for most if not all of them, are the copious amounts of condiments that you can get.
[00:51:02] I have a picture of Dan at one of these seven tables with it's a small world
[00:51:10] in the background because Dan insisted that we sit at one of these tables because you can look at
[00:51:16] it's a small world with a shitted ingrin on his face with a mountain of condiments.
[00:51:22] And I will try to find this picture for the show notes because it does exist.
[00:51:27] I do love condiments.
[00:51:29] So while you're listening to Dan's argument about how insignificant this view is, I want to look
[00:51:34] at the picture on the look on his face and how proud of himself he is of the condiments.
[00:51:41] The dining area not the condiments.
[00:51:45] I think the view is hilarious.
[00:51:47] I think the view is like it's to me it's clearly an afterthought.
[00:51:54] It works.
[00:51:56] One of those things where it's just like, you know, if we break down this wall and
[00:51:59] put some windows in, you could just see it's a small world.
[00:52:03] So I was like, all right, let's do it.
[00:52:05] I think it's cute.
[00:52:08] I think the people make and Jimmy, I'm not saying that you are doing this.
[00:52:13] I think a lot of people make way too big of a deal out of it.
[00:52:18] I agree.
[00:52:19] The only time I've ever eaten at this place quite a bit,
[00:52:22] the only time I've ever sat there was with you.
[00:52:24] Yeah.
[00:52:25] Because it's just like, meh.
[00:52:26] Yeah.
[00:52:27] I can't remember.
[00:52:28] I've sat close to those tables where you can see the wind.
[00:52:34] I mean, I've sat in a place where you can actually see the windows, but
[00:52:38] yeah, I've never really set up on the edge there.
[00:52:40] And it's really not the grandest view.
[00:52:43] I think what I find or found immune, I'm trying to think back to why
[00:52:48] I would have wanted to do that.
[00:52:50] I think what amuses me so much about that is you are at a restaurant that is,
[00:53:00] I mean, I'm not saying this as an argument really in this argument.
[00:53:04] It's just it's not the best food.
[00:53:06] I mean, by definition, right?
[00:53:08] It's kind of just like your standard theme park-y kind of, you know, beige.
[00:53:14] It's true since we were there before.
[00:53:15] Right.
[00:53:16] But I mean still at its heart, it's like,
[00:53:18] I'm going to have a mountain of beige with a touch of green.
[00:53:21] That's like kind of what both of these places are doing, right?
[00:53:26] And then you get to watch people go on a ride that a lot of people hate
[00:53:33] and like refuse to do.
[00:53:35] And I think it goes back to my like, I love watching dads being miserable at Disney parks.
[00:53:42] And it's just so it's I love the idea that you get to watch,
[00:53:48] you get to watch people's faces as because there's no ambiguity in terms of like people
[00:53:54] riding that ride.
[00:53:54] There's, there's very, it's people have very strong opinions about it's a small world.
[00:54:01] There is a middle where people are like, take it or leave it.
[00:54:04] But then you have people who are way into it and you have people who are like,
[00:54:09] I'm all right, I'll go on this.
[00:54:11] But then we got to, you know, you got to go, we're going to go do shots afterwards or something like
[00:54:16] like like shots before that dynamic.
[00:54:19] I love watching families and disarray.
[00:54:24] I like it's the Tiki Room Dad thing.
[00:54:27] I love that.
[00:54:28] Sounds like you're selling the idea of this viewing spot.
[00:54:30] Yeah.
[00:54:30] Well, there's only seven.
[00:54:31] You're bringing me back around here.
[00:54:33] But there's only that's the thing.
[00:54:34] If this if there was, if that's what this restaurant was like it's all window seats,
[00:54:41] I would be totally into it.
[00:54:42] But it's such an ordeal.
[00:54:44] It's such a like it's it's it's another thing to plan and battle.
[00:54:51] I would, I would however argue that The Wishbook is point worthy.
[00:54:58] Oh yeah.
[00:54:58] Yeah, for sure.
[00:54:59] Did I already give a point for The Wishbook?
[00:55:01] No, I did not.
[00:55:02] Okay.
[00:55:02] Well, here's here's what I'm going to do because seeing into a ride is fun.
[00:55:09] It's not the best view of the ride.
[00:55:10] It's not like the garden rail where you can see into living with the land.
[00:55:16] Well then and also another thing like is that the humidity of it like makes it so that the
[00:55:22] window is always kind of like gross and wet.
[00:55:26] And let's see.
[00:55:30] Second floor is cool, although I don't want it to be like a hey, it's bigger.
[00:55:36] No, it's not always open either.
[00:55:38] Right.
[00:55:38] But just that there is a second floor and they've put so much into it.
[00:55:42] I've already kind of given a point for a lot of the theme going on here.
[00:55:47] And Dan you've you've got some you eventually need to talk about your restaurant.
[00:55:54] But that the wish the wish book in particular pushes it over the edge.
[00:56:03] Because what like what is that?
[00:56:04] I've I haven't noticed that before and yeah, that's that's cool.
[00:56:09] Yeah, it's kind of like that one with the storybook land canabos if you're one of the first
[00:56:13] you can sign the guest book.
[00:56:17] Yeah.
[00:56:19] It's my little touch at my go intern the Magic Kingdom where you don't expect fun little touches.
[00:56:26] That's true.
[00:56:28] To rephrase that, yeah, maybe.
[00:56:34] Nope.
[00:56:38] I don't know what you're talking about over overruled.
[00:56:46] So something that I'm curious about and this isn't this is sort of a segue I think is
[00:56:53] is if you're going to make why make that a really themed building and have the rest just be like
[00:57:00] Renfair car cardboard cut out kind of crap at Disney World.
[00:57:06] I don't know it's just a thought.
[00:57:07] Oh, you mean the the other buildings that are
[00:57:10] yeah, the old tent style.
[00:57:13] I think the point is that this is the if you look at a map or look at the thing is this
[00:57:17] is kind of the center it's the village square.
[00:57:20] Yeah.
[00:57:21] With the little fountain and everything else around this whole Bavarian sort of medieval
[00:57:26] fair sort of feel.
[00:57:28] No, I get it.
[00:57:28] I think I just I continue to be perplexed by and this is entirely because of the park
[00:57:34] that I grew up with.
[00:57:36] I continue to be perplexed by the like weird
[00:57:41] uneven effort in fancy land at the Magic Kingdom.
[00:57:49] But I mean that's not that's not in the interest of this argument or or not.
[00:57:54] I'm just it's just a thought.
[00:57:57] So right, a lot of things apply like I said except to make it smaller and there's not
[00:58:04] a fountain but there is like a well with plants in it.
[00:58:09] It's you know, it's very they're they're extremely similar.
[00:58:13] But where some of the differences lie is at the Red Roast Havarn.
[00:58:19] There's again a hand carved sign saying be our guest with Cogsworth and
[00:58:28] the mayor and all of your friends welcome you welcome you into the lobby.
[00:58:33] There's stained glass in so many places with the rose motif.
[00:58:37] You can also see the rose on display and the main ordering area which is also again that open air
[00:58:46] sort of feel they made it a little bit darker with the switch to Red Roast Havarn.
[00:58:54] But in doing that they just made like the cloth that hangs over a little bit darker.
[00:59:03] Now once you get your delicious food items which we will get into what they are later
[00:59:10] you have a choice of sitting on the Gaston side or the Bell side
[00:59:17] like a wedding in these two characters famously did not get married but whatever.
[00:59:26] On the Gaston side things are very dark there's lots of wood
[00:59:29] and here's where we get into a few things that
[00:59:33] objection your honor David. Yes, it's not Gaston.
[00:59:37] Huh? It's Gaston. Gaston. Gaston.
[00:59:40] He can pronounce whatever way he likes. I don't know what he went for me.
[00:59:45] Hauls. Gaston.
[00:59:47] We have been very specific about pronunciation on this.
[00:59:50] Gaston. Gaston. I don't know. I don't have the energy to pay attention to that to be honest.
[00:59:56] The Gaston side is very dark there's lots of wood there's a fireplace and around his area
[01:00:07] you will see multiple types of antlers. Now why does he have multiple types of antlers?
[01:00:16] Because he was a hunter and there's also a portrait of him
[01:00:21] and there are many antlers around that portrait.
[01:00:25] Now why are there so many different types of antlers you might be asking yourself?
[01:00:30] Each one represents a region of France. Oh. Point please.
[01:00:39] How do they represent different regions of France?
[01:00:42] Because the the animals that they come from apparently are hunted in these regions.
[01:00:50] Can you tell me one of those animals?
[01:00:53] Uh, jackalope.
[01:01:01] Moose. I don't know. Sorry.
[01:01:08] All right so they're different animals from France.
[01:01:11] Okay. Different animals from France. Different.
[01:01:15] Yeah you know like horned. Right like bears and let's see.
[01:01:21] Bear horns. Horsies.
[01:01:27] Squirrels with antlers. No I mean things with antlers.
[01:01:34] He's very pleased with himself. I'm very pleased with myself yes.
[01:01:37] You know like deer and like. Oh that's a real one.
[01:01:42] Animals with animals with horns the devil.
[01:01:44] So far you've so far you've named two actual animals that have horns.
[01:01:58] Right there's different types of deer and the devil.
[01:02:04] Look there's different they're okay there are different types of antlers from different
[01:02:08] animals that have different kinds of horns. They're like I don't know let's say they're
[01:02:11] all deer but they all live in different French neighborhoods. I don't know.
[01:02:15] I'm trying to understand this concept and you've made it significantly worse.
[01:02:21] That's what I do that's why I'm on the show.
[01:02:24] All right what else about the guest on room?
[01:02:31] Right so there's that and then again there's there's a there's a lot of wood sometimes
[01:02:36] guests on will come through and say hello to everybody he'll get into arguments with the
[01:02:42] employees because you know it's Disneyland so they have the free roaming characters that kind
[01:02:48] of just do what they want which understandably Disney World doesn't have that because if you were to
[01:02:54] have guests on come in all of a sudden there'd be a line out the door. So I understand why that
[01:02:59] thing that element doesn't exist there but still it doesn't exist there.
[01:03:06] It is it is one of the the things that I really appreciate about Disneyland.
[01:03:11] Right so you can kind of get like I mean you can kind of get like unofficial character
[01:03:19] dining just by going to some of these places which you know again it's
[01:03:26] it's almost unfair for me to bring it up but I still am because I'm trying to win something.
[01:03:30] Yeah and I'm curious if I'm going to give you a point for it because
[01:03:34] Yeah is the devil one of these characters that watch for him?
[01:03:37] Is he wearing a red red dress? Does he come out from the Mr. Toad's ride and start walking around?
[01:03:47] No he comes out from the kitchen because that's where all the hot stuff is.
[01:03:56] All right okay so then you have on the other side you have the bell side and again
[01:04:05] you have you know the various decor stuff that is that we're we're talked about with
[01:04:11] the Pinocchio Village House at Disney World but it's you know it's it's Beauty and the Beast stuff
[01:04:18] now right. And then on the bell side they have newly opened up the library which used to be
[01:04:28] Gepetto's shoppy and you can eat your beige food in there surrounded by Belle's books.
[01:04:38] I don't know why I had that first on my notes that's very confusing.
[01:04:41] Also on the bell side there are cabinets and shelves with serving wear and books because
[01:04:46] you know she's a lady and she reads.
[01:04:49] Who's woke now? And the devil also there still.
[01:05:00] Well yeah the devil the devil is I you know what an argument could be made that in some
[01:05:05] ways thematically the devil is in fact there because we're associating Belle
[01:05:11] with these stereotypical items.
[01:05:14] So and here's where we get to some fun stuff they learned from my friend David my new friend David.
[01:05:22] Have you seen the movie Beauty and the Beast the movie the live action movie?
[01:05:29] Yes. Have you seen The Mrs. Potts in the movie?
[01:05:35] Yes. You can also see The Mrs. Potts and the Chip from the actual movie at
[01:05:41] The Red Rose Davion. Are they are they real props?
[01:05:46] They are real props from the real movie in which there is fake animation.
[01:05:52] That is pretty great. You can also see Cogsworth you can also see Lumiere.
[01:05:58] You only get the one. I know I'm just going for the one.
[01:06:01] So if you are going there or when you go there rather you can find these items they are
[01:06:07] if you if you look for the picture frames so for example there is a picture there's a cabinet
[01:06:15] that has all sorts of serving ware you know because of those reasons and on top of it there's a
[01:06:23] picture frame and right in front of that picture frame is Mrs. Potts and Chip right next to her
[01:06:30] and the reason for the picture frames is because when you've been in the movies and you're a movie star
[01:06:36] you like people to notice you. Oh so that's for people to notice that they are there and I got
[01:06:44] confirmation from David these are actually physical objects that were used in the movie.
[01:06:49] Again I understand just one point I'm just for the clarifying.
[01:06:53] No that's cool. That's very cool. It is cool. I agree it's very cool.
[01:06:57] Well this one should win and you also in the order. He's making an argument for his thing.
[01:07:03] That's weird. Yeah now if you step outside and you look up on the tippy top of the building.
[01:07:07] But Dan if you step outside then you can't see Mrs. Potts and Chip anymore.
[01:07:11] Well you take them with you and you do a smoke bomb to averted tension.
[01:07:18] You're like you come with me.
[01:07:22] I should have mentioned this again at the beginning.
[01:07:25] On the top of the building you will see a weather vane and that weather vane is a rooster.
[01:07:32] Why is it a rooster do you think?
[01:07:35] Because of France?
[01:07:36] Well how would you describe Gaston's personality?
[01:07:41] Oh that's a stretch.
[01:07:43] It's just a stretch.
[01:07:45] That is exactly what was pointed out to me.
[01:07:48] So David pointed this out to you?
[01:07:53] Yes.
[01:07:53] I would only believe him if he was related to some Hollywood celebrity.
[01:07:57] Well he's not so.
[01:07:59] No but he again I'm not trying to pull a point out of that it's just something I forgot to mention.
[01:08:05] Jimmy how many weather veins are on the Pinocchio Village house?
[01:08:09] How many are there on the Pinocchio Village house?
[01:08:12] Jimmy how many weather veins are on the Pinocchio Village house?
[01:08:16] Have you noticed the weather veins in Fantasyland?
[01:08:19] Have you noticed each weather vane matches what it's sitting upon?
[01:08:22] This is a magic kingdom.
[01:08:24] It does.
[01:08:24] If you look at the vein on top of Pinocchio's Village house you see gestures on the veins
[01:08:29] because of the theme of the area is that a royal fare.
[01:08:32] Right.
[01:08:33] If you look at the weather vein on top of Peter Pan's flight you'll see the croc.
[01:08:36] Same here.
[01:08:38] There you go.
[01:08:39] I'm just pointing out a thing.
[01:08:40] There's a lot to learn about weather veins.
[01:08:42] Yeah it's the same thing here.
[01:08:44] It's just here because it's Tavern weirdly operated by Bell and not Sebastian, I guess, Vaughn.
[01:08:53] Bell and an unrelated character.
[01:08:57] No Bell and Sebastian is a band.
[01:09:00] I'm just pointing out that they have a rooster on top and that's it.
[01:09:07] You can also see in the ordering area there's a nod to Geppetto
[01:09:15] in the form of the menus which are, it's the same menus that are at the other park and that have
[01:09:21] always been there and they're hand carved clocks.
[01:09:26] You can also see, and this is probably the case at Disney World, over 100 hidden mickeys
[01:09:31] David offered to point out several to me.
[01:09:34] I said please don't.
[01:09:37] I said no thank you.
[01:09:39] No, I am not that person.
[01:09:41] Thank you very much.
[01:09:41] You threw down the smoke bomb and ran away again.
[01:09:46] So yeah that's kind of the decor and I realize it's kind of vague but it's essentially the same
[01:09:56] building but switch out the characters with characters from Beauty and the Beast
[01:10:02] and you kind of have the same idea.
[01:10:04] And yeah there's paintings, there's murals.
[01:10:06] I mean it's the same but Beauty and the Beast.
[01:10:09] Yeah I very much enjoy that there are hand carved things and some of the touches are very nice.
[01:10:17] Both are very nicely themed.
[01:10:23] Yeah apparently Disneyland is winning at this point but it's anybody's game I think.
[01:10:30] Eric this is not a game.
[01:10:32] I'm sorry it's anybody's very serious art.
[01:10:36] Rigorous court battle.
[01:10:39] So speaking of hidden mickeys one of the stained glass windows in Fantasyland's Village
[01:10:43] Haas restaurant has a dancing Pinocchio and the decorative pattern on his shorts are hidden
[01:10:48] mickeys not looking for points just pointing it out.
[01:10:52] Okay if you look above you in the hoarding area you can see three onions and that's a
[01:11:00] hidden mickey and three loaves of bread and that's a hidden mickey.
[01:11:06] And if you look at the stained glass which is made out of circles there's a spot where it's
[01:11:10] especially a hidden mickey.
[01:11:12] Buy the book.
[01:11:14] Hey everybody's got hidden mickeys.
[01:11:16] Buy the book.
[01:11:21] We have a by the way listeners we have a

[01:12:11] It's a 50 page book with nothing inside
[01:12:15] Are there some concentric circles made by spills on the ground?
[01:12:19] Hidden Mickey
[01:12:21] It's what it is is they just
[01:12:24] Jimmy and Eric
[01:12:26] Got me drunk one night and they said hey, let's turn on the text to speech to text on our phones and
[01:12:34] Dan tell us all about how you feel about Hidden Mickey's and most importantly how you feel about people who?
[01:12:41] obsessively hoard the experience of seeing them and
[01:12:46] I just talked and it
[01:12:50] 250 pages
[01:12:53] In store now may as well be at your story we should do it
[01:13:04] Is your coffee table book
[01:13:07] Just there are no pictures
[01:13:09] No multiple volumes of things. I am irrationally angry about
[01:13:14] Maybe it's just a picture of Dan with all those condiments
[01:13:17] All right, so should we talk about the the food food? Let's talk about that beige food Jimmy. What's on your breakfast menu?
[01:13:28] There is no breakfast menu. Oh, hey, that's all 11am. Oh
[01:13:35] Huh mine happens to have a breakfast
[01:13:39] This is what I turned into the worst version of myself
[01:13:44] Okay
[01:13:45] So this is a snapshot in time right because the menus these places change all the time
[01:13:51] So I'm gonna leave the holiday exclusive out
[01:13:55] desserts. Let's start at the back
[01:13:57] Key lime pie tart and non-fact Greek
[01:14:00] Greek yogurt grogu on
[01:14:04] trays
[01:14:05] Which means to enter?
[01:14:08] So those are in France entrees are actually appetizers, but that's the point
[01:14:14] This is not France. Okay, so we have an all-meat flat bread a buffalo chicken flat bread
[01:14:19] Gourmet cheese flat bread pepperoni flat bread Caesar salad Caesar salad with chicken and chicken strips
[01:14:26] And you can get plant-based you can get a plant-based cheese pizza
[01:14:30] sides breadsticks French fries Caesar salad and tomato basil soup is there a gluten free option?
[01:14:36] Well, hold on oh
[01:14:38] There are kids Disney check meals you get ham and cheese kids pack and a turkey sandwich kids pack kids meals pepperoni flat bread and chicken strips
[01:14:46] There of course assorted beverages which I will not get it to now. We have the gluten-free
[01:14:52] wheat allergy friendly
[01:14:54] Menu, which is larger than the other menu and you have an egg allergy friendly menu
[01:15:00] A lot of frat bit for flat breads basically the main the same
[01:15:06] Menu, but just allergy free egg free then there's a fish and shellfish allergy friendly menu and
[01:15:14] Then there's a milk allergy friendly menu including all meat pizzas etc. Etc.
[01:15:19] Don't forget that allergy friendly menu Jimmy
[01:15:22] Don't forget that if you order from the allergy meant menu one of the naughty children from
[01:15:29] Pleasure Island Island. Thank you. We'll come and make fun of you
[01:15:33] That's that's fine. I accept it, but I just think it's so you've got you've got
[01:15:38] the main menu kids meals and then gluten wheat allergy one
[01:15:44] egg allergy to fish shellfish allergy three
[01:15:48] milk allergy for peanut tree nut allergy five sesame allergy
[01:15:54] six soy allergies have there eight menus
[01:15:58] To accommodate virtually everyone in the world
[01:16:02] I'm sure that's true in California as well. I just thought it was interesting that was all there is there's a there's a lot of
[01:16:08] you know, we do the
[01:16:11] Grasping at straws thing on the show they are definitely grasping at straws in terms of like we also have this you're like
[01:16:17] It's the same bit you call it. It's the same thing. It's still chicken strips. You can call it gluten all you want
[01:16:22] It's still the same thing on the main menu, but it doesn't have fish in it
[01:16:26] So you're good the gluten-free flat bread was pretty good though
[01:16:30] I bet it was as far as gluten-free crusts are so basically it's a flatbread chicken strip salad restaurant at the end
[01:16:37] Does that meet any particular theme?
[01:16:42] other than flatbreads kind of like pizza and
[01:16:46] Pinocchio set in Italy. That's all I got great damn
[01:16:51] Well, would you like to hear about the breakfast menu first? Oh, yes, please
[01:16:57] By the way, the breakfast
[01:17:00] By the way, yes
[01:17:05] It's not it's not Disney World's fault
[01:17:08] Oh wait. No, that's the opposite of the normal argument. It is the 100% Disney World's fault
[01:17:13] They don't have breakfast. They don't have enough breakfast at the Magic Kingdom in general. They really don't yeah
[01:17:19] Don't do a good job with that. I
[01:17:22] Guess the thinking is you're gonna be eating at your hotel, but it's still a bad
[01:17:27] Yeah, there are a lot of breakfast options at hotels so they're taking away that revenue from the hotel and moving it to the park
[01:17:34] I don't know. Yeah, it's silly
[01:17:35] I guess it in some ways it fits what they're trying to get the resort to be but I mean why not just offer some breakfast food?
[01:17:43] Again, I'm gonna ignore the seasonal offerings. I'm gonna ignore the Magic Key holder offerings unless Eric would like for me to go over them
[01:17:51] You have for breakfast which exists you have the gourmet breakfast sandwich
[01:17:56] That is an herb blend and creme fraiche egg maple butter spread
[01:18:02] Munster and crispy bacon on a
[01:18:05] Pronounce that word again creme fraiche
[01:18:10] Thanks you're welcome
[01:18:15] I've trained myself to not be able to say it normally
[01:18:19] On a brioche style bun served with taverni potato bites
[01:18:24] I'm gonna be honest. It's not as delicious as it sounds, but it exists
[01:18:32] I'm assuming it's not taverni. That's like oh, it's taverni potatoes. It's tavern with an e with an e. Yes
[01:18:37] Yeah, I got it
[01:18:39] These potatoes taste very taverni to me
[01:18:43] You also have the bourgeois breakfast that's bonjour with the exclamation point
[01:18:47] Just like Jeff
[01:18:49] That comes with scrambled eggs
[01:18:51] Taverni potato bites choice of hickory smoked bacon or sausage and served with a petite question
[01:19:00] You got the Royal chifon very French so French the most French movie French
[01:19:06] You have the Royal chiffon pancake served with guava strawberry sauce and choice of bacon or sausage
[01:19:12] And we have our plant-based options, which is the little town harvestable. It comes it has
[01:19:19] Queen oi quinoa
[01:19:22] roasted mushrooms and cauliflower a regula tomato taverni potato bites and spicy lime aioli
[01:19:29] With an oom lot. I didn't know that was in there
[01:19:32] You could also just get some taverni potato bites on the side. It's and so many of them beverages
[01:19:37] You've been to a quick service restaurant, you know how that works
[01:19:41] then
[01:19:43] Also, I don't know the exact times but I believe from my memory
[01:19:47] This is just this is a point grab. This is just for the listener who cares
[01:19:52] I
[01:19:53] Believe that this location serves breakfast later than any other location. Oh
[01:19:59] possibly as late as
[01:20:03] 11 I know as late as 1045
[01:20:06] Whereas the galactic grill I think stops at 1030 which is
[01:20:11] You know, it's ordained by God breakfast shall not happen after 1030
[01:20:16] Um
[01:20:17] For lunch and dinner we have again ignoring seasonal and magic key holder offerings
[01:20:23] We have these size of a barge potato bites. These are taverni potato bites topped with cheese sauce
[01:20:30] Ground beef caramelized onions special sauce
[01:20:36] Okay, it's just in tons and fresh served from 8 30 a.m. To 11 a.m. There we go
[01:20:43] Um
[01:20:44] The we also have the chicken cordon blue sandwich that is a fried chicken filet
[01:20:50] Crispy prosciutto
[01:20:53] prosciutto
[01:20:54] Sure Swiss cheese spinach and Dijon mayo on a toasted bun served with cuties mandarin oranges or taverni potato bites
[01:21:03] We also have the prevent
[01:21:05] Jimmy does anything on your menu have a Pinocchio e name
[01:21:09] No, unfortunately it does not there's no themed Pinocchio entree items. Oh
[01:21:18] Wow, but much of the is is the same color as wood so that's kind of a theme
[01:21:23] I mean all these flatbreads are very colorful you mean
[01:21:27] I know I'm not I'm making fun of both of our restaurants here
[01:21:30] Nothing on my menu tastes taverni
[01:21:34] Okay, that's fair
[01:21:35] We have the provincial cheeseburger
[01:21:38] That's a third-pound angus beef but the beef patty with cheese pickles house made signature sauce on a brioche style bun
[01:21:45] Start with cuties mandarin oranges or taverni potato bites. There's also they les tenders de poley
[01:21:54] That's also known as chicken tenders. I know Jimmy loves it when I speak French
[01:21:59] The chicken tenders with taverni potato bites and choice of dipping sauce
[01:22:03] Here we go. There's the pit
[01:22:06] Petal petal is a pepperoni flatbread
[01:22:11] Ptozes
[01:22:13] This one's for real. I don't know how to say that
[01:22:19] It's a pepperoni flatbread, okay
[01:22:21] But they put a French thing on I mean
[01:22:24] I appreciate the point Eric that you gave Dan because mine don't have anything but this menu just seems like
[01:22:31] Did you ever see the movie better off dead?
[01:22:35] Franch yeah, just because it's got French dressing
[01:22:41] Peru hey, just it's like made an effort somebody had chicken cord on blue is not French
[01:22:46] Well, maybe it is well hold on you pick the most
[01:22:50] Right the most French of all of the things hold on. We'll get there. We'll get there
[01:22:55] You also have the pizza our fromage, which is a cheese flatbread and
[01:23:01] For people who just compared this
[01:23:04] Restaurant to better off dead, which is a great movie by the way. You have the spiced lamb sausage flatbread that is house made
[01:23:12] merguez
[01:23:13] merguez sausage flatbread topped with fresh basil pistou
[01:23:19] That's how you say it mozzarella honey lemon ricotta and
[01:23:24] grilled pearl onions
[01:23:27] Plant-based we got okay, okay
[01:23:30] salad
[01:23:31] do
[01:23:33] Jardin
[01:23:35] That it's a kale mix shredded carrots have to go through every ingredient cuz I didn't do that on mine
[01:23:40] Yeah, I think I think we're good. I think we get it
[01:23:43] They Disneyland tried harder with their menu. You also have the candelabras flaming burger
[01:23:48] That's they tried harder with the words. They tried harder with the foods were good better
[01:23:53] Also purchase a reusable cutlery set. He's still going
[01:23:58] What are the colors he said? Oh, it doesn't say
[01:24:03] On the fork it is $9.99
[01:24:08] There's also
[01:24:10] You can get a Mickey Mouse shaped glow cube for your beverage for six dollars
[01:24:15] Are you sure it's not just three circles that happen to be near each other?
[01:24:19] Three ice cubes that happen to be chips dishes. This is these are the kids
[01:24:23] This is the kids menu is chicken tenders. They didn't
[01:24:30] Whatever you kids deal with it and then
[01:24:34] Chips dishes, that's fun. Yes. That's nice and chip is himself a dish which is fun
[01:24:39] Oh boy not like this the fish
[01:24:43] No, not that kind of a dish
[01:24:45] He's he's a piece of serving where which is why he spells friend
[01:24:50] For other reasons we've talked about before
[01:24:54] Okay, and we good you got your point
[01:24:58] What what else you want to talk about?
[01:25:02] Well, just I guess the last thing is the land impact area impact
[01:25:05] So yeah, but my argument is that as I discussed earlier
[01:25:10] Fantasyland this is the new Fanti in Orlando
[01:25:15] It consists of sort of two areas you've got the castle which is ideal size and
[01:25:21] a castle courtyard
[01:25:24] Inside the courtyard. You have the medieval fair. You've got Peter Pan
[01:25:29] Philharmagic
[01:25:31] the carousel
[01:25:33] Small world and the village house, which is house, which is the village center
[01:25:39] It's like town square and it's themed appropriately to town scare once you exit the castle courtyard
[01:25:46] You get into other fantasy land which has those other architectural styles
[01:25:49] We talked about seven doors mind train Winnie the Pooh that kind of thing
[01:25:53] So as it relates to this part of the land
[01:25:56] It is in fact the centerpiece of this land first thing you I mean beyond the carousel obviously
[01:26:02] But it's it's the thing you see from all vantage points of entry from coming from Liberty Square
[01:26:09] You see the village house right away coming from the other fantasy land to see village house right away coming from Main Street
[01:26:14] Beyond the carousel you see village house. So it's kind of visible from all of fantasy land
[01:26:19] So I think it has a bigger impact because of that and it's also the main bathroom in the area
[01:26:23] I also have a bathroom
[01:26:30] Land impact for Red Rose Tavern gets interesting because
[01:26:37] As we all know the fantasy land at Disneyland is themed to a
[01:26:43] Alp
[01:26:45] Basically around the idea of the Swiss Alps and the related areas. I did a little I did several searches to see
[01:26:53] for example where
[01:26:55] Snow White was where historians have
[01:26:59] Decided that snow white was at where the story supposedly took place. I know it's not your story, but you know
[01:27:06] And also same thing with Pinocchio where that supposedly took place according to clues in the text
[01:27:13] Same thing with Beauty and the Beast where that took place according to the clues in the text and
[01:27:20] they all kind of take place in
[01:27:23] In a sure if you were to draw a map of
[01:27:26] oh
[01:27:28] and and also I looked up Bavaria because
[01:27:31] Of the the theming is Bavarian if you look up all these things you could make you can make a
[01:27:38] You can make it. There's like a circle
[01:27:41] That either it can be drawn and right in the middle of that circle is the matter one Venn diagram Venn diagram
[01:27:46] Well, no, I mean like if you were to take the route
[01:27:50] I don't know how to explain it. It's a visual thing
[01:27:53] basically if
[01:27:56] What I'm trying to get to is that
[01:27:58] Red Rose Tavern adds
[01:28:01] a French area which was in which is
[01:28:06] in the same
[01:28:08] geographical region as
[01:28:11] Snow White Peter Pan like different countries, but in terms of like
[01:28:16] The actual physical geography of the space
[01:28:20] If you add the Matterhorn in there
[01:28:22] We're talking about a region that you could drive
[01:28:25] The entire region you could drive from one place to the other to the other to the other and then back to the Matterhorn in a day
[01:28:34] I'd like to object
[01:28:36] Famously England is an island so you can't drive
[01:28:41] From Peter Pan
[01:28:43] Channel Matterhorn. Well, I suppose but that's a train. Okay. Well, here's this is all there's a
[01:28:50] There's the channel tunnel that you can drive there a drive you one. Yeah, fine fine
[01:28:53] I'm driving one in the middle of it
[01:28:55] You have to immediately switch sides of the road and then move your steering wheel to the other side of your car
[01:29:01] That's right famous. I take your point but geographically
[01:29:05] Where is Peter Pan in relation to these things that I just connected Peter Pan's in London? No, I mean in the park
[01:29:13] Depends on which would be east
[01:29:16] Across what?
[01:29:20] Across the courtyard right stroller parking lot
[01:29:24] Yes
[01:29:26] So I'm just saying that these these things being connected
[01:29:31] adds a stronger
[01:29:33] it
[01:29:37] You're trying to you're it sounds like you're already winning
[01:29:41] That
[01:29:42] That the land impact is we needed a French part. That's what I'm trying to say. Thank you
[01:29:49] That is actually that is exactly and it fits and all that and I take the point about Peter Pan and
[01:29:55] Mr. Toad, but that is across the courtyard, right?
[01:29:59] Again, this is all this is all stuff that I've just kind of put together
[01:30:02] however stuff that I was told by David which
[01:30:07] This is more in the interest of me talking about a bunch of really cool things that he told me that it is about
[01:30:13] The restaurant itself. However, it it will connect. I will get to the connection
[01:30:19] Eventually, you just have to bear with me. So again, I'm not saying all of this as a way to further humiliate
[01:30:28] Pinocchio that dirty naughty lying child
[01:30:33] Who I think deserved to be hung at the end of the at the end of the story just saying
[01:30:40] That's how Wow. He's a delightful child
[01:30:43] So I was talking to David and he
[01:30:46] He
[01:30:47] Told me about something. It's a concept. They've been working on since well for a while
[01:30:53] but then the
[01:30:55] Pandemic and the shutdown happened so they kind of put a pause on it but starting in about March of this year
[01:31:00] they started in earnest
[01:31:02] to think about this concept called Aurora's fair and
[01:31:08] The idea is that
[01:31:11] They introduced immersive play at galaxies edge, right and
[01:31:16] That really worked not as well as some people hoped but it worked in terms of like what?
[01:31:21] the the company wanted to see and then
[01:31:25] shortly after the
[01:31:27] Play app and the well the idea that thing the idea that you are in a place and
[01:31:33] Like everyone that works works there is a part of it. Okay. Oh, yeah, so like
[01:31:39] You know when you go to galaxies edge
[01:31:41] You go to but to and everyone there is whether they want to or whatever on whatever level they are all a
[01:31:48] part of that
[01:31:50] Environment and you are visiting them, right?
[01:31:53] so
[01:31:55] apparently what they talked about was
[01:31:57] This is something that works and we really like it and we want to eventually introduce this
[01:32:03] immersive play idea
[01:32:05] To all the lands and that's partially why they shut down to town
[01:32:09] I mean mainly they needed to shut down to and down to make the changes that they wanted to make but within that they
[01:32:15] introduced more ideas of immersive play
[01:32:19] And I mean that lends itself really well to to town because you can shut it down
[01:32:23] Nobody really cares because it's like outside the berm
[01:32:27] And when you reopen it you have again
[01:32:30] The the people who worked at you work there they live in to town. They're not obnoxious about it
[01:32:34] It's just sort of this mythology that exists if you want to engage with it
[01:32:39] So they decided at some point this is all according to David
[01:32:45] Who is not just some random dude he's like in charge of implementing this stuff
[01:32:51] Apparently they said okay, this is going well
[01:32:54] So what if we again apply this to every land? Let's start with fantasy land because
[01:33:02] We can't really shut it down. I mean they can but you can't
[01:33:08] And
[01:33:09] so if we can make it work in fantasy land that we know we can make it work anywhere else because fantasy land is
[01:33:17] Potentially the most just disjointed most difficult again
[01:33:20] You can't shut it down. You can just kind of make changes around it
[01:33:26] so they came up with this idea of
[01:33:29] It's a Rora's Fair and
[01:33:31] you are visiting this village and
[01:33:34] The villagers and everything in it have just woken up after a hundred years of slumber because sleep beauty
[01:33:42] What's that Jimmy's what oh you looked at David
[01:33:47] That's him
[01:33:51] Um
[01:33:53] So
[01:33:54] Let's see the villagers are all celebrating a Rora's awakening after a hundred years. Everything was asleep
[01:33:59] Rora is not a queen yet and in this reality
[01:34:02] She never will be because it's all kind of frozen in this moment that you were in
[01:34:09] So they thought this through a little bit more and they decided so she's commissioned as fair King Arthur and Merlin have brought
[01:34:18] their
[01:34:20] Carousel to celebrate
[01:34:22] Merlin brought the sword and the stone is like a hey, let's see if you can do this wacky thing
[01:34:27] The circus also visited that's the circus is also visiting. That's why we have
[01:34:33] Casey Jr. And Dumbo
[01:34:36] Casey Jr. Brought Dumbo to the fair and this also establishes why these flat rides
[01:34:42] Exist as flat rides because they're temporary in the world of Rora's Fair now that you're probably wondering
[01:34:49] What about the tea cups? That's an excellent question because the tea cups and
[01:34:55] Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter shop are all in the Tolji wood
[01:35:00] Which is part of the village or it's just outside the village rather and the Mad Hatter is
[01:35:06] Having his tea party all the time
[01:35:08] He built his Mad Hatter shop because he's a Hatter and he built this ride in tribute to his friend Alice
[01:35:16] You now you're also probably wondering what about it's a small world. We'll get there
[01:35:23] It's a small world is the international port where people come and go and
[01:35:28] All the children of the world
[01:35:30] Welcome you and they all saying it's an international part
[01:35:33] That fits storybook land is actually a part of the town. It's just a smaller part
[01:35:41] Get it you also have the Alpine village which is represented by
[01:35:48] the Matterhorn
[01:35:50] A alvice snacks and whatever else is over there
[01:35:53] And we're getting back to Red Rose Tavern
[01:35:57] The Red Rose Tavern is where everybody eats. It is the village center. It is
[01:36:04] The tavern where they welcome you and you can sample all of the wares all the food items from all the people that
[01:36:13] Live there does wow did David smell like weed
[01:36:20] Because it's like we man knew like it's all connected man like no, I was like the poor
[01:36:27] Here's the thing. Here's the thing
[01:36:29] I get what you're saying
[01:36:30] And I was feeling a little bit of that and the whole time I was giving him this look like
[01:36:35] Okay
[01:36:36] Have I seen you on QAnon post before?
[01:36:40] And I just asked him I'm like, okay, so is this cannon is this like a thing he's like
[01:36:48] Okay, hold on if you think I'm just making this stuff up
[01:36:50] He grabbed some random worker and he said hey tell me about a roar's fair and
[01:36:57] the the cast member was like oh
[01:37:00] Oh, okay, so hold on I remember it's that thing where I'm a villager and
[01:37:07] sleeping beauty just woke up and
[01:37:10] At that point David stepped in just like yeah, we're kind of just we're still kind of working on the training for it
[01:37:15] But yeah, you you got enough for where you're at. It's still very new
[01:37:18] And the idea isn't that you're supposed to like walk into fantasyland be like I get it
[01:37:23] It's all a connect connected thing
[01:37:25] but again
[01:37:26] it's adding that little like extra layer of depth to the
[01:37:30] The inner interactive play thing to where the people that work in fantasyland
[01:37:35] They're all the villagers and they say has ought to you or they will as the training continues and they implement this
[01:37:41] And there's also I didn't check I didn't check but apparently David said that there's a hidden spinning wheel
[01:37:48] In the bibbidi-bobby boutique which is like hidden way way way way up because if the king ever find found it
[01:37:55] He would have had it destroyed
[01:37:58] Now
[01:37:59] Granted I have looked I have scoured the internet for anything involving a roar is fair. There's nothing
[01:38:06] so they if they're really implementing this they really haven't
[01:38:12] It has not slipped out at all it is in its super infancy stages, but David he assured me
[01:38:19] He's just like it's something that we haven't like it's not a secret
[01:38:22] We just haven't really publicized that we haven't really talked about it
[01:38:25] But it's something I'm totally allowed to talk to you about there's just most people aren't doing a re doing research
[01:38:32] On whether or not this sign was hand-carved. You know
[01:38:36] He's like you're the first podcaster to come in here right and ask me questions about this restaurant
[01:38:43] so I
[01:38:44] realize how
[01:38:46] ridiculous it sounds and
[01:38:47] You know in a year or so if none of it is implemented
[01:38:51] I will accept the possibility that David was just playing an elaborate
[01:38:56] joke on me involving
[01:38:58] The employees that he's supposed to be supervising and that was that employee was not random
[01:39:03] Right, there's another one of these youtubers out here. No, but it's mess of them
[01:39:08] But again if you it's I'm not trying to say that like
[01:39:12] It makes perfect sense and it fits perfectly
[01:39:15] But they're doing that thing where they like they stretch they're stretching this thread
[01:39:21] Almost to breaking point and it's kind of with a wink in an odd of like, yeah
[01:39:26] It's a yeah, how do we explain the flat rides? Well King Arthur brought it because this is carousel and they're all celebrating Aurora
[01:39:33] being
[01:39:34] Awake finally after a hundred years. So again, I'm not trying to offer all of that as
[01:39:40] multiple points for
[01:39:44] Red Rose Tavern
[01:39:46] but
[01:39:47] The way it fits into what is becoming or will become the greater mythology of fantasy land is that it is the
[01:39:56] Basically, it's the the tavern in town
[01:40:00] Like it's not just the Red Rose Tavern like it is a tavern in town all the villagers come
[01:40:05] they are there happily serving you their wares and
[01:40:08] You eat them
[01:40:11] Not the villagers the food
[01:40:14] so for me if
[01:40:16] You know and then that's right up my alley. I assume true for Eric to if this is actually true and it becomes a thing
[01:40:23] That's right up our alley. Oh, yeah
[01:40:25] I have no what's ironic here is that I'm the one who is naturally least inclined to be interested in this and
[01:40:32] Yeah, I
[01:40:35] Asked enough questions and I got enough confirmation that at the very least
[01:40:40] this person
[01:40:43] Definitely believes that it is true and it is agreed upon by like as far up as Kim Irvine
[01:40:51] And or just insane
[01:40:54] Yeah, could be or both
[01:40:57] For me
[01:40:58] If they're gonna go all in if this is true and they're gonna go all in if they changed the land to Aurora's fair
[01:41:06] That would be that I'd have so much more buy-in. You know what I mean, right?
[01:41:10] I could they galaxies edges back to this is Aurora's fair tomorrow land is now Buzz Lightyear's
[01:41:16] Whatever they end up doing you know, let's do that because then you're not limiting yourself to theme like they do now
[01:41:21] Right, I think that's the idea
[01:41:23] Yeah, and that would be wonderful if they changed the names of the lands to meet the theme that'd be wonderful
[01:41:28] Well, I don't know that they need to necessarily change the name because it's going to be fantasy land
[01:41:32] But it could be like fantasy land with a colon or Aurora's fair, you know
[01:41:37] Or Aurora's colon or our colon
[01:41:41] Ford slash fantasy land anyway Eric. Let's bring it home buddy
[01:41:45] We've had some great conversations really not gonna have time for Tiki from now
[01:41:50] Come on
[01:41:52] You should have cut them off
[01:41:55] In here. Yeah, well no I wanted to hear about the thing. No, thank you. I think
[01:42:01] That's really interesting Dan and I'm glad that you you made that random connection with a cool guy who
[01:42:08] Hopefully listens to our show now. So we it's just to be clear to listen
[01:42:12] I'm I'm very aware that we either have a scoop on our hands or an
[01:42:18] elaborate trick has been played on me
[01:42:21] Yes, and David if you are listening, thank you for taking the time and Dan
[01:42:24] Yes, thank you for actually investing this not that's not in your nature to
[01:42:29] Strike up those kind of conversations with people. So thank you for the sake of the show. Thank you for that
[01:42:36] Excellent well, I think where I've arrived as far as land impact is
[01:42:42] Both are doing the same thing
[01:42:44] It Dan you have you have argued that this is the town center and this is where
[01:42:50] Everybody hangs out and eats food and Jimmy you argued the same exact thing
[01:42:54] But that's true. The difference is mine is currently that Dan's is the future state of that
[01:43:00] It might be that
[01:43:08] Okay
[01:43:10] This is tough. I
[01:43:12] Just clicked my tongue which is something I have to edit out. Okay, let's yeah
[01:43:18] Should we talk about how close the bathrooms are same say have to walk out of the building turn here there, okay?
[01:43:27] Yeah, that's that's pretty fair
[01:43:32] The the village house is definitely more central
[01:43:37] Red Rose tavern is is in a fairly central location, but it is I mean the edge of frontier land. Yeah, it's
[01:43:45] Hold on. Oh
[01:43:47] It's still yeah, it's like it is a gateway to yeah, like the literal gates to fantasy or
[01:43:55] Frontier lander right there. You're right. It is on the edge
[01:43:57] It's it means that you can order weird
[01:44:01] Which means that you can order from the Red Rose tavern on your mobile app and not have to deal with fantasy land at all
[01:44:09] That is the worst
[01:44:11] part of
[01:44:12] fantasy land in my opinion
[01:44:14] That that air dealing with it. Yes. Yes dealing dealing with it. Oh, it's lovely
[01:44:20] But but yes heading through that's that's like the worst way to go through
[01:44:23] Yeah, if you by the way again if you're rope dropping within the first like two hours of the day
[01:44:29] Check out fancy line. It is lovely when it's not Chuck E. Chase. Yeah
[01:44:35] Mm-hmm
[01:44:36] Eric yeah, so I mean and what's the point? What's the point tally right now?
[01:44:41] The the point tally is Disneyland wins
[01:44:44] Yeah, exactly. So it's the
[01:44:47] It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. Yeah
[01:44:50] Both I think as far as the land impact is concerned. I do I would give you know, I will give
[01:44:59] A point to Pinocchio Village house for its location house house
[01:45:06] But yeah, I think I think red rose might be winning
[01:45:10] No, it is winning but not to argue not to not to argue the point
[01:45:14] But I'm curious why that location works better for you because it's it to me. It's in the middle of the chaos
[01:45:20] It is in the middle of the chaos as opposed to the edge of the chaos, but
[01:45:25] But yeah, it
[01:45:27] Thematically it fits so well
[01:45:28] You've got way the way it really is part of the courtyard. You've got the that kind of wall off to the side
[01:45:35] Yeah, so you're going for actual land impact rather than convenience, which is what I was trying to argue
[01:45:43] Right that makes sense. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean the the reality instead of time impact
[01:45:49] Yeah, the reality of red rose tavern is that you could slip in
[01:45:54] from the back and
[01:45:57] Hop in there. I I don't know that that's necessarily point worthy
[01:46:01] Yeah, Dan's really excited about that but you're already one. Yeah, you already won you already want it
[01:46:08] Okay
[01:46:09] Yeah, so
[01:46:11] As always going in
[01:46:13] Sorry Eric. I'm gonna use sirp for a minute
[01:46:16] Always going into these things with really being indifferent
[01:46:19] I was excited about Village house
[01:46:21] I was excited about discovering the you know the story of Pinocchio and how that story
[01:46:26] Evolved and then how it's reflected into the into the restaurant
[01:46:30] So I really like those aspects of it in the theming
[01:46:33] You know the small world thing is a thing right? It's not the reason you go there
[01:46:38] But you have some of the nuances with Cleo the sexy fish and how her
[01:46:43] Things are our stained glass to make you feel like you're in a fishbowl and this room is that so but I think again
[01:46:49] It's reflected the same at Disneyland. So thematically. They're doing the same thing, right for me
[01:46:54] What really is the difference is the level of attention to detail and quality of the food
[01:47:01] Which is the reason we go right?
[01:47:03] So yeah for that point for that reason alone
[01:47:06] I think Red Rose Tavern would win just because it's more thematically
[01:47:10] Appropriate you have this Bavarian Italian whatever and you got flatbread
[01:47:16] Caesar salad like I mean come on. It's decent flatbread. Give me a pretzel for God's sake. You know
[01:47:21] Yeah, that's fair. Yeah, they're it
[01:47:23] I mean really if we're just talking about theming, you're right. I think both have so much in common
[01:47:29] or normally I would think Pinocchio Village House would win because
[01:47:35] Just the multiple multiple rooms with different themes
[01:47:38] But but really Red Rose Tavern is doing the same thing, right?
[01:47:41] It's doing the same exact thing and there are their clever details there too
[01:47:46] So yeah, it's a better restaurant Red Rose. There you go
[01:47:51] Supreme fantasy land the supreme fantasy land new fantasy
[01:47:57] Restaurant thanks for dropping the new Fenty there Dan
[01:48:00] Haven't heard that one in a while. We haven't been in
[01:48:02] Yeah, it's the only
[01:48:05] It's the only no, it's not the only counter service restaurant in fantasy land because you've got Gaston's
[01:48:11] That's not really I mean it's you got my nose nook
[01:48:16] Is that a counter service? I well now
[01:48:19] That's more like a ice cream shop or what at Disneyland you have fries there and stuff
[01:48:24] You have troubadour tap is it troubadour? I think it's troubadour. I
[01:48:30] Get the counter service. I get I get
[01:48:32] Anyway, I'm just trying to figure out for the title of the episode
[01:48:36] But I'll let you sort that out. Okay
[01:48:40] All right. Well, yeah, so we go
[01:48:42] Just real quick a little plug for concierge
