If you listen to the Walt Disney Company, the Treasure of Matecumbe is about one child's search for buried treasure in the Florida everglades. The actual film, however, was more of a "how-to-scam-folks-in-1860's-Kentucky" tutorial, with very little treasure hunting involved. Yet, in a testament to production standards, Disney was still able to create an entertaining and at times witty little movie that we enjoyed watching! ----------------
