[00:00:00] New at 6 a Marshfield School Board Member is making national news over her effort to ban a Muppet book from kindergarten class.

[00:00:08] The book is titled for every child, a better world.

[00:00:11] Julia Fellow has born a woman who calls that book to graphic for children.

[00:00:16] It's a more than 20-year-old book that illustrates children living in poverty, homelessness, and even war.

[00:00:21] It's on the agenda for Marshfield School District Kindergartners to read starting in February.

[00:00:26] But one school board member is trying to prevent this from happening.

[00:00:29] They're Muppet characters.

[00:00:32] So they use these soft, cutely, friendly figures to really try to get a emotional reaction out of children.

[00:00:44] Mary Cardi tells us she began to speak out this summer after reading the book for herself.

[00:00:49] Most is almost like it's the worst of the words.

[00:00:52] If you actually do get a chance to look at some of the images, I mean, they are disturbing to look at as an adult.

[00:00:57] She believes this book is too graphic for Marshfield Kindergartners to see.

[00:01:01] It includes Muppet children who are homeless.

[00:01:03] It's the rain falling down.

[00:01:05] It's the cardboard over his head.

[00:01:07] The book for every child, a better world, was produced as a fundraiser for the United Nations.

[00:01:12] It starts with a note to the reader.

[00:01:14] Shilling and explained to the gentle voice of Kermit the Frog about the rights of children everywhere.

[00:01:19] Carney is aware of the media attention she's getting over a Muppet book, but believes she's only standing up for what she's elected to do.

[00:01:25] I'd rather see these types of topics discussed from parent to child and not necessarily from teacher to classroom full of 25 30 children at one time.

[00:01:35] Carney tells us that just this afternoon an eight-person committee voted to approve this book in the kindergarten curriculum.

[00:01:42] The next step now is for the superintendent to approve this and then a final vote from the school board, reporting from Marshfield, Julia Fellow, today's TMJ4.

[00:01:51] Thank you, Julia.

[00:01:52] Now we did reach out to the school superintendent but so far we have not heard that.

[00:01:58] From the ashes of the pilot children's books that that woman burned.

[00:02:05] It's crazy.

[00:02:06] Oh, this is the podcast where we watch straight to the new Disney seat.

[00:02:15] Quilts and we talk about them and you know the deal.

[00:02:19] However, this is a different thing.

[00:02:20] We'll get to that.

[00:02:21] I'm Dan and Jimmy's on his phone right now.

[00:02:25] Jimmy, I will take that phone.

[00:02:26] I will take that.

[00:02:27] You're device is a way.

[00:02:27] I know how much you kids love your screens.

[00:02:30] Jimmy's here.

[00:02:31] He's on his phone.

[00:02:31] Just like that.

[00:02:32] It was called TMJ News and Audrey's here.

[00:02:36] Hi.

[00:02:36] I just Googled what TMJ stood for.

[00:02:40] 10-year-old man, Dibular jaw dysfunction.

[00:02:43] This is basically lock jaw.

[00:02:47] Yeah.

[00:02:48] TMJ News.

[00:02:49] That means never mind.

[00:02:50] That's how I feel when I watch most news these days.

[00:02:54] My jaw is up from stress.

[00:02:56] From shock your mouth is constantly a jar dropped.

[00:03:01] Is it what?

[00:03:02] Do you know how expensive it is to get Botox in your jaw muscles?

[00:03:08] Expensive.

[00:03:09] It's very expensive.

[00:03:13] But like do it.

[00:03:15] No, but I totally do it.

[00:03:18] If I could.

[00:03:19] Botox.

[00:03:19] Next time we're together let's get Botox.

[00:03:21] Let's do it.

[00:03:22] Just in time for the T-Groops.

[00:03:24] Yeah.

[00:03:24] Yeah.

[00:03:25] Because I mean they all look younger.

[00:03:28] No.

[00:03:28] I'm sorry, cut you off.

[00:03:29] Go ahead.

[00:03:31] Okay.

[00:03:34] Botox just silence for there.

[00:03:37] No, I don't know.

[00:03:39] I'm not listening.

[00:03:40] I've recreated telepathically and I completely got it.

[00:03:44] So yeah, this is the show we do the things that I told you that we do.

[00:03:48] This is an interesting situation because we in preparation for the Tinkerverse,

[00:03:55] which is going to be our final boss battle.

[00:03:58] Swan song.

[00:03:59] Yeah.

[00:04:00] Possibly.

[00:04:01] Swan song for our sanity.

[00:04:03] We decided that we were going to watch.

[00:04:05] What was it?

[00:04:06] Poo, Tigger.

[00:04:07] That's officially my friend, Tigger.

[00:04:10] My friends, Tigger and Poo, which is TV series.

[00:04:15] This is a special called my friends, Tigger and Poo and a musical too.

[00:04:19] Right.

[00:04:20] The very last non-Tinkerverse straight video Disney sequel.

[00:04:24] So we were going to do that before diving into the bot hole of the Tinkerverse.

[00:04:30] And then we realized we couldn't find it.

[00:04:33] Barkly.

[00:04:35] And fun, fun story.

[00:04:36] I was at lunch yesterday.

[00:04:38] She made something.

[00:04:39] That's it.

[00:04:39] Where do we watch this movie?

[00:04:40] And because I work in the industry that I work, I immediately like, you could just look it up.

[00:04:48] I did.

[00:04:51] And then I looked at that and I'm like, oh, he did.

[00:04:56] Sure did.

[00:04:57] I thought for sure, I had very little time between prep and recording.

[00:05:01] And I just like, oh, here's Disney plus.

[00:05:03] Poo, Poo, Poo, Poo, Poo.

[00:05:05] Wait, did they change the title?

[00:05:07] No.

[00:05:08] Google?

[00:05:09] No.

[00:05:09] My friends, Tinker and Poo and a musical too.

[00:05:13] No where?

[00:05:14] Well, Tinker did use, no, sorry.

[00:05:15] It was out of use the inward a lot in that one.

[00:05:18] Oh, with the hard hard.

[00:05:20] Oh, geez.

[00:05:24] So here's what happened to Anne and Audrey, behind the curtain on this end.

[00:05:28] Couldn't find it.

[00:05:31] And then I'm like, you know, my family and I last night,

[00:05:34] Buzz in Thursday.

[00:05:36] We watched the Muppets hunted mansion.

[00:05:39] Like the 14th time.

[00:05:41] Oh, God.

[00:05:42] So it was on the brain.

[00:05:44] I'm like, hey, how long is coming up?

[00:05:46] Why don't we do Muppets hunted mansion?

[00:05:47] Can you watch this more than once?

[00:05:50] Oh yeah.

[00:05:52] Will I watch the game tonight?

[00:05:53] Possibly.

[00:05:55] Oh, is it never your thing multiple times a year?

[00:05:58] Absolutely.

[00:05:59] I think we need to, this is an intervention.

[00:06:02] We're past intervention.

[00:06:04] Okay.

[00:06:05] Well, this is what it needs to just accept.

[00:06:07] You're an addict.

[00:06:09] And you've chosen this as your addiction and I feel so sorry for you.

[00:06:16] What I find in a vein upsetting and we'll be the most challenging to keep in mind throughout this episode is that

[00:06:24] I fear that the average listener is going to be on your meat side.

[00:06:28] Yeah, yeah, because we're all sane.

[00:06:31] And we love love.

[00:06:32] We love fun.

[00:06:34] We love joy.

[00:06:35] We love we love nods to theme park attractions.

[00:06:39] And we're not dead inside.

[00:06:40] That's what.

[00:06:42] Okay, you're going to turn this around and say, where the ones who are dead inside.

[00:06:48] Well, you're right.

[00:06:49] I think that is possible.

[00:06:52] But I know things that this is one of the cases.

[00:06:57] So so drill quick then.

[00:06:59] You've watched it.

[00:07:00] You've watched it over 10 times.

[00:07:02] Oh, I'm being Jimmy's friend Audrey exactly.

[00:07:06] At least.

[00:07:08] And we watched the Thursday.

[00:07:09] So hey, what a great idea.

[00:07:11] And so for the listener, we haven't had a ton of time to prepare for this.

[00:07:18] And so that being said, I am curious Audrey, what you thought this was going to be about.

[00:07:26] Oh, let's do some history first.

[00:07:29] Oh, okay.

[00:07:30] Let's see that.

[00:07:30] I mean, whatever whatever history we can come up with.

[00:07:33] This is what happened in 2021 for the record.

[00:07:36] Well, this is a salute to the Muppets.

[00:07:40] Uh, social Muppets, but mostly those in the Disney parks on factsonfigment.com.

[00:07:46] Let's see it by the way, this Audrey that's a nod to the Muppet Vision 3D.

[00:07:51] That means you need to like it.

[00:07:53] That's right.

[00:07:54] Yeah.

[00:07:55] I love it.

[00:07:56] I will not be forced to like anything against my will.

[00:08:00] However, however, in in the timeline, this was this did come out around the time that things were correct me if I'm wrong to me.

[00:08:09] But this came out around the time that things were like reopening.

[00:08:13] Well, in California, I mean in California, right?

[00:08:16] Florida opened like two months.

[00:08:18] There's like April of 2020, but this is this is a, this might be the most post-COVID thing I've ever seen.

[00:08:25] Yeah, probably.

[00:08:26] I think the movie was actually produced all within COVID protocols, you know, that it's not a lot of live actors are near each other.

[00:08:33] Right.

[00:08:33] The Muppets all had masks.

[00:08:34] That's right.

[00:08:35] Oh, so that's why it's completely soulless, lifeless, unwatchable.

[00:08:39] I didn't finish it.

[00:08:40] Did I mention I fell asleep at the end?

[00:08:42] I didn't see the end because I fell asleep.

[00:08:45] You didn't.

[00:08:46] That's why you didn't love the movie.

[00:08:48] No, that's not why I hold it.

[00:08:50] All right.

[00:08:51] I pressed the button.

[00:08:52] So now we're stuck.

[00:08:54] Disney Legend, James Murray, Ari Vincent.

[00:08:58] I have read this before.

[00:08:59] Was born at a time and that we had an interview at that.

[00:09:02] Acquisition in 1989, he introduced negotiations with all this unique company to sell his company, Jim Henson's reaction.

[00:09:08] But his characters, excluding those from Sesame Street and his characters, it's good.

[00:09:13] Like I said, I've read this before.

[00:09:14] And his characters, it's good thing those two sessions here.

[00:09:16] Okay, great.

[00:09:17] And then the Muppets arrived to Walt Disney World and it was something called Muppet 3D.

[00:09:24] Muppet 3D, Muppet 3D, Muppet's right.

[00:09:28] Muppet vision 3D, very nice things Jim Henson worked on.

[00:09:32] Yeah, because last thing Jim Henson worked on.

[00:09:34] And then they also had here comes Muppets, which was saying where people would be in Walker on characters as Muppets,

[00:09:41] which is really weird.

[00:09:42] They looked terrifying.

[00:09:44] Then we got, okay, Muppet 3D came actually after that.

[00:09:47] Like I said, I've read this before.

[00:09:49] And then they had Muppets on location, Days of Swine and Rose's.

[00:09:52] Can you guess who was the main star?

[00:09:55] That is huge.

[00:09:56] It's picky.

[00:09:58] Yeah.

[00:10:00] Then they did more Muppets in their life-sized characters.

[00:10:04] Kind of a scary.

[00:10:06] And then they did the Muppet mobile lab and then they, and then a lot of time past.

[00:10:11] And then they did great amount of Muppets in America history.

[00:10:15] And of course, Pizza Rizzo is still there.

[00:10:18] Sand the Eagle.

[00:10:19] And now they just kind of like, it's just sort of a property that like,

[00:10:24] They're like, what do you want us to do?

[00:10:27] Let's try these things out of retirement.

[00:10:31] I guess they're well.

[00:10:33] Right.

[00:10:33] And I'm dancing like I'm up at.

[00:10:37] And I'm going to, I'm celebrating like I'm up at.

[00:10:44] Anyway, the Muppets much like, uh,

[00:10:48] I haven't imagined these properties are both.

[00:10:52] And the eyes of the Walt Disney company very much in my opinion,

[00:10:56] Like that dog's been overbread.

[00:10:59] And yes, that poor dog that you see that's been overbread and like it's all like

[00:11:04] Sacky and weird sound delicious.

[00:11:10] Now I'm starting with you'll sad.

[00:11:12] Me too.

[00:11:14] I've loved it the sadness for a while though.

[00:11:17] Well, yeah.

[00:11:19] So Audrey in that brief period of time between finding out that you were going to have

[00:11:24] to watch this movie, get, sorry.

[00:11:26] Get to watch this movie.

[00:11:28] And watching this movie, what did you think it was going to be about?

[00:11:31] Um, well, I had, I, I told myself to have low expectations.

[00:11:36] But I saw Muppet Treasure Island at an impressionable age.

[00:11:42] And I thought that was one of the coolest movies ever.

[00:11:46] And, uh, that's how it is.

[00:11:48] Yeah, I was kind of hoping for a little bit of that to happen.

[00:11:54] And so if you do it like it, like on some level.

[00:11:59] Yes, I expected to like it on some level because Muppets,

[00:12:03] because the Muppets are extremely likable.

[00:12:06] Um, so I didn't you.

[00:12:10] We now finished yet and we have landed there yet.

[00:12:16] I'll just two on the show.

[00:12:18] Yeah, why didn't you like it, man?

[00:12:20] Wait, I don't know.

[00:12:21] Okay, I'm just, wait, yeah, yeah.

[00:12:24] Audrey, did you see Muppets Christmas Carol?

[00:12:27] Oh, yeah, yeah.

[00:12:29] That's also fantastic.

[00:12:31] Wonderful, beautiful.

[00:12:32] I saw it in the call of Labyrinth.

[00:12:34] That has Muppets in it.

[00:12:35] Labyrinth, we saw that together.

[00:12:37] And that was enjoyable.

[00:12:39] Yeah, yeah.

[00:12:40] So what you're telling me if you didn't like this movie is that you,

[00:12:43] in fact, don't like Muppets.

[00:12:44] In fact, you hate them.

[00:12:45] That's what I heard.

[00:12:46] It's possible.

[00:12:49] Um, all of those movies sort of homages to the original source material.

[00:12:54] Mm-hmm.

[00:12:55] Kind of with them up at flare, a little bit of fourth wall break,

[00:12:58] a little bit of silliness.

[00:13:01] Some gags and some character.

[00:13:03] Some heart.

[00:13:03] Let's do it.

[00:13:04] Yeah, all of that soul.

[00:13:08] Yeah, yeah, all of that soul.

[00:13:10] Yeah, yeah, all of that soul.

[00:13:11] Yeah, well, um,

[00:13:14] No, we'll get to it.

[00:13:16] Hold on.

[00:13:17] Hold on.

[00:13:18] All right.

[00:13:19] Dan, did you have any thoughts about what

[00:13:20] do you thought it was going to be?

[00:13:24] When it first came out,

[00:13:26] I thought,

[00:13:27] I guess I should watch.

[00:13:29] It was always like the rogue one thing,

[00:13:31] where it's like,

[00:13:32] I guess I should watch this

[00:13:35] because it seems like something that I'm supposed to watch.

[00:13:40] But nothing about it interests me.

[00:13:43] And then, and we'll get into this more.

[00:13:45] And then give me you told me,

[00:13:49] you're gonna love it.

[00:13:51] You said to me specifically,

[00:13:52] you will love it.

[00:13:54] It's no, I'm telling you it is made for you.

[00:13:56] And I'm like, I don't think it is.

[00:13:58] I'm just, I mean, I'll give it a try about I really,

[00:14:02] I don't,

[00:14:03] I think that you're seeing in it something that is unique to stuff that you like and it's kind of like that dividing line where it's just like,

[00:14:11] okay, that's your thing.

[00:14:12] That's not my thing.

[00:14:13] But I gave it a try.

[00:14:15] I watch for five minutes and then I yelled at the TV.

[00:14:18] This is like years ago.

[00:14:19] I'm sorry.

[00:14:20] And I said,

[00:14:21] are you going to keep going?

[00:14:23] It's so good.

[00:14:24] No, I was so happy.

[00:14:27] And I remember in our conversation,

[00:14:28] part of it was,

[00:14:29] but you liked the Hanimanshin, right?

[00:14:31] And I'm like, yes,

[00:14:32] I do like the Hanimanshin.

[00:14:34] And he said, but you like them.

[00:14:35] And he said, you like them,

[00:14:36] You're like them.

[00:14:38] But this, I don't think,

[00:14:40] is a chocolate and peanut butter situation.

[00:14:41] I think this is a chocolate and ranch dressing situation.

[00:14:48] And that's fair.

[00:14:50] Sure enough.

[00:14:50] It is a chocolate and ranch dressing situation.

[00:14:53] I'm sorry.

[00:14:54] I feel like,

[00:14:55] I'm sorry.

[00:14:56] I didn't like the movie to be.

[00:14:59] I'm not.

[00:15:00] Don't be sad.

[00:15:00] Don't be disappointed with us.

[00:15:05] We haven't even talked about what it's about.

[00:15:07] You even know if you liked it.

[00:15:08] Tell me about it.

[00:15:10] You're right.

[00:15:11] Please, please install my thought.

[00:15:13] I think I think a pinion.

[00:15:15] And in like it because we told him he was supposed to.

[00:15:17] No, that's not it.

[00:15:18] You didn't like it because you didn't fully understand it.

[00:15:22] So when I explained it all to you,

[00:15:24] you're going to come around and be like,

[00:15:25] You actually enjoyed it.

[00:15:27] What you needed is for someone to explain everything to you in the ranks longer than the actual story itself.

[00:15:34] That's right.

[00:15:34] And then you're right.

[00:15:36] I actually loved every moment of this.

[00:15:39] Yeah.

[00:15:41] Yeah.

[00:15:41] I think for me what?

[00:15:45] Not only it just there are parts to be fair.

[00:15:48] There are parts that I've found amusing,

[00:15:52] which were past the five minute mark.

[00:15:56] And and I.

[00:15:59] A lot of this.

[00:16:02] It hits me in this place where it's just like,

[00:16:05] Okay. Yeah.

[00:16:05] I like the haunted mansion.

[00:16:07] So I want to go on the haunted mansion.

[00:16:09] I don't want this.

[00:16:12] Well,

[00:16:12] I would argue that this movie is going on the haunted mansion through the eyes of the Muppets.

[00:16:20] It's not.

[00:16:21] Well, we'll get into it.

[00:16:23] And I've been on the Audrey mansion twice in my 33 years of life.

[00:16:32] How many times have you guys been on it?

[00:16:35] I can't.

[00:16:36] Because I'm dark and I like Halloween and I like scary things.

[00:16:40] Well, yeah.

[00:16:41] Name five things about the ride that only a true fan would know.

[00:16:47] Mark Davis is a dick.

[00:16:52] That's one.

[00:16:55] Paul Freeze.

[00:16:58] Jamie.

[00:16:59] Okay.

[00:17:02] During well, one of the original ideas was this is going to be the museum of the weird.

[00:17:07] Okay.

[00:17:08] And one of the ideas for the museum of the weird.

[00:17:10] One of the ideas for the museum of the weird was a melting candle man.

[00:17:15] Oh, I've added him to the ride since very close to the building candle man.

[00:17:21] And also hat box ghost is the best thing ever.

[00:17:26] And I just, oh my god, every time I write it,

[00:17:30] he's got me.

[00:17:31] It's going to be the chair in the sand from was the original design for the ride.

[00:17:37] The ride vehicle.

[00:17:39] Wow.

[00:17:40] There you go.

[00:17:41] All right.

[00:17:42] All right guys, so.

[00:17:44] Muppet Hunter Mansion is a 2021 American comedy Halloween special based on the Disney properties,

[00:17:52] the Hottimate Muppets of course and Hottimate.

[00:17:55] It was released October 8, 2021 on Disney plus.

[00:17:59] It is the Muppets first Halloween special.

[00:18:03] The plot stars Gonso and Pepe as they face challenges of staying in a haunted mansion for one night.

[00:18:11] I have a question generally positive reviews from critics.

[00:18:14] Why are they going?

[00:18:17] If it's a Halloween special, why wasn't that nightmare before Christmas because that is clearly a Halloween movie?

[00:18:25] Well, it's a different dark and twisted mind.

[00:18:28] I don't think they'd be able to handle Christmas Halloween and Muppets.

[00:18:32] So they bit made it smaller and easier to chew, which was all the Muppets.

[00:18:38] I'll tell you what you would love.

[00:18:41] Sorry Audrey go ahead and finish it up.

[00:18:44] I don't know.

[00:18:46] Muppets nightmare before Christmas.

[00:18:52] Okay.

[00:18:53] Muppets?

[00:18:54] Who would be ex-gillic?

[00:18:55] Oh god.

[00:18:58] Okay, hold on.

[00:18:59] That would be curbed.

[00:18:59] That was a no-goater.

[00:19:02] And then Miss Piggy would be Sally.

[00:19:08] The mayor would be...

[00:19:10] Fossies?

[00:19:11] Probably Gonso.

[00:19:12] Fossies?

[00:19:13] Fossies good.

[00:19:14] The dog would be Ralph of course.

[00:19:16] Guess he's the hero of the dog.

[00:19:18] Yeah.

[00:19:19] The rats would be the three children.

[00:19:23] Yep.

[00:19:25] Anyway, all right.

[00:19:27] All right.

[00:19:27] So this movie...

[00:19:29] But here's the eggbot.

[00:19:31] They're doing a haunted mansion challenge and they have cell phones.

[00:19:35] So obviously they're trying to go after the Gen Z age or something.

[00:19:40] All right.

[00:19:40] Does that love their screens?

[00:19:41] I guess it's like we're doing the cinnamon challenge.

[00:19:46] Everything's a challenge instead of it's just we're going to a haunted mansion for the night.

[00:19:50] That's scary.

[00:19:50] I don't want it's own.

[00:19:51] Why did you have to get a haunted mansion challenge?

[00:19:54] It just feels like dumb TikTok energy.

[00:19:57] I wouldn't have been from the start.

[00:20:00] I wouldn't have enjoyed this more if they did a tide pod challenge.

[00:20:04] Yeah.

[00:20:06] They make fun of the whole thing.

[00:20:08] The main character outside of Gonso is the Great Maguffin.

[00:20:11] Like, okay hold on.

[00:20:12] What?

[00:20:13] But they don't even do the Maguffin thing.

[00:20:15] Do they?

[00:20:16] At the end?

[00:20:16] Yeah.

[00:20:16] Is the Maguffin.

[00:20:18] Sorry.

[00:20:19] I thought it was the whole of the Great Maguffin.

[00:20:21] They did the Maguffin.

[00:20:23] Okay.

[00:20:23] Yeah.

[00:20:23] That explains this.

[00:20:24] It was projected the whole time.

[00:20:27] What's the real question?

[00:20:29] What are they paratizing about anything?

[00:20:32] What's what is what's the parody aspect?

[00:20:35] Well, does it have to be a parody?

[00:20:37] Like I don't think it is either.

[00:20:38] I think Muppet's on it mansion is Muppet's Christmas Carol.

[00:20:41] It's telling a story through the eyes of the Muppets.

[00:20:45] They're telling the same story.

[00:20:46] But there are still parody elements.

[00:20:48] They are.

[00:20:48] But Christmas story.

[00:20:50] So you're telling me that in the Hanimanship, the right of the Hanimanship, the point is to face your fears.

[00:20:56] No.

[00:20:58] Maybe.

[00:20:58] I mean, for a lot of children, Dan, I think it is.

[00:21:01] Your self included.

[00:21:02] You're trying to hard to like it.

[00:21:04] No.

[00:21:04] Why do you like it?

[00:21:05] I have to try.

[00:21:07] I-but my-so in a-in a-in a good movie, one that's enjoyable and one that you can walk away from

[00:21:15] and go, this movie was about that.

[00:21:18] You can actually say this is what that movie was about.

[00:21:21] And you can say if it's paradiseing something or making fun of it, you can say what

[00:21:25] aspect it's making fun of and how.

[00:21:28] And-and-and-and-it but this is just like, oh, Dumbuggie.

[00:21:34] Dumbuggie!

[00:21:34] I get it!

[00:21:36] Yeah, that's not making fun of it.

[00:21:37] It's the dumbest-it's the lowest common denominator.

[00:21:40] I think it's paying homage.

[00:21:41] I don't think it's parodying.

[00:21:44] I don't think that it's-okay.

[00:21:46] What are they-what are they paradise?

[00:21:48] They're not-that's okay.

[00:21:50] At what point is it homage at what point is it laziness?

[00:21:54] Where's the line?

[00:21:56] There is no line.

[00:21:58] It's just laziness, but just a few with off.

[00:22:01] I think that Disney has all-has-has-has-has-has trying to reconcile two things.

[00:22:05] I think they have this world-famous attraction that everyone loves.

[00:22:11] Dan?

[00:22:11] It is, in fact, something that a lot of children have to get up the courage to ride.

[00:22:17] You're self-included.

[00:22:18] Yeah, I'm still afraid of it.

[00:22:20] So the-the fear of getting on this ride, right?

[00:22:24] Yeah.

[00:22:24] But it is a world-renowned attraction that has been imitated across the world and other sort of theme parks.

[00:22:33] Or let's say Disney did a better job at the haunted house ride.

[00:22:38] And it's everywhere.

[00:22:40] Like even in the eastern part of the world in Asia, where they don't really believe in ghosts

[00:22:48] and that sort of thing, they have found equivalents to this.

[00:22:52] Yeah?

[00:22:52] Everywhere they have one.

[00:22:54] And Disney's never really been able to have property-like Pirates of the Caribbean.

[00:23:01] Okay?

[00:23:02] You know, it was a multi-billion dollar franchise.

[00:23:04] They haven't been able to do that for this ride, that they should be able to do because it's a world-famous ride.

[00:23:10] This is another attempt for them to have some sort of, you know, some sort of answer to this franchise

[00:23:20] of whatever.

[00:23:20] So I think Dan to your point what this movie is trying to do is be Muppets Christmas Carol

[00:23:28] for something that doesn't exist.

[00:23:29] It's just such a cruel idea.

[00:23:32] Maybe.

[00:23:34] But it's Muppets which are fun.

[00:23:36] There's a lot of humor in it.

[00:23:38] I like the psych eggs, I like the characters.

[00:23:40] I really like Pepe.

[00:23:42] I like also kids too.

[00:23:44] All of it.

[00:23:45] Gonzalo's very genuine.

[00:23:47] He's a very genuine character.

[00:23:49] I think the arc is what he finds.

[00:23:52] You know, he's sort of a stoic-ish character.

[00:23:55] He finds at the end that what really matters to him is being with his friends.

[00:24:01] There is family.

[00:24:02] That's really what matters.

[00:24:03] All the rest of it doesn't really matter.

[00:24:05] So I think he does have an arc.

[00:24:06] He doesn't leave the mansion.

[00:24:08] His thing is to meet the great Muguf and who died 100 years ago.

[00:24:12] His goal is to just, I'm not afraid.

[00:24:15] I'm not afraid of anything.

[00:24:16] I can get through this night.

[00:24:18] At the end, he realizes he is afraid of losing his friends and not being with what really matters

[00:24:23] and rather than accomplishing his goal that he set out to do, he risks accomplishing his goal

[00:24:29] by going back to save his friend because that's really what matters in life.

[00:24:32] Is the people you love?

[00:24:34] And so he saves his friend and he still accomplishes his goal.

[00:24:39] I think it's a sweet story.

[00:24:41] That's a sweet story.

[00:24:42] There are parts of it that I don't disagree with you or not.

[00:24:46] Especially the last part, but it would have been better, better movie if it wasn't just

[00:24:54] Gonzalo and Pepe.

[00:24:56] Maybe.

[00:24:58] But it's not.

[00:24:59] Cormots hit it.

[00:25:00] Piggy's in it.

[00:25:01] Rawls is in it.

[00:25:02] I mean, they're all in it.

[00:25:03] No, no, no.

[00:25:04] They're all in it.

[00:25:05] They're all in this movie.

[00:25:08] Right.

[00:25:09] But they're in the ballroom scene.

[00:25:10] They're all in the show.

[00:25:12] They're standing for other characters.

[00:25:15] Well, but they're like, and the great Muguf and who we don't know yet even says,

[00:25:20] oh yeah, you're going to recognize some people.

[00:25:22] Your mind will play tricks on you to make you think that you recognize some people,

[00:25:26] which basically says like that's not permanent.

[00:25:28] But Cormot wasn't Bob Cratchett either, Dan, but he was Bob Cratchett.

[00:25:32] He still doesn't.

[00:25:33] But he says that that's not Cormot.

[00:25:37] That he looks like Cormot, which was standing that Cormot character is a stand in for the great Muguf and

[00:25:44] who takes on the form of Cormot.

[00:25:49] Anyway, my point is that there were other Muppets in it.

[00:25:53] Miss Piggy plays a role.

[00:25:54] Cormot played like those characters.

[00:25:57] This, the puppets play a role in the movie.

[00:26:01] So I get the main characters are Pepe and Gonzo.

[00:26:04] But the rest of them were in it.

[00:26:05] They're in it at the beginning.

[00:26:06] They're in the middle.

[00:26:07] They're in there.

[00:26:10] They play roles.

[00:26:12] I think like, I think your argument has a leg to stand on.

[00:26:17] It's just so poorly made.

[00:26:20] It's just so nasty.

[00:26:22] All of these Gonzo, I've never seen Gonzo looking so stiff.

[00:26:27] And I think that just the quality of puppeteering has declined.

[00:26:34] And I was, this is nitpicky but why did they give him a candleabro with fake candles?

[00:26:42] Why not just give him a real candleabro?

[00:26:44] You couldn't pull that off.

[00:26:45] You have a green screen for literally like the whole movie is green screen.

[00:26:50] And you gave Willarnet a fake candle.

[00:26:53] And it looks, it just looks cheap despite how much they could have had on it.

[00:26:56] Because that looks like in the ride, Audrey.

[00:26:59] No.

[00:26:59] But this would look like in the ride.

[00:27:00] In the ride they create the environment and they have lighting.

[00:27:04] Like if you're holding a candle, it's going to cast light on your face.

[00:27:08] When you're watching Willarnet with his cheap glued-on mustache and he's holding a candleabra,

[00:27:13] there should be light on that side of his face but there isn't.

[00:27:16] This is a problem that's ongoing in Hollywood right now.

[00:27:20] People are just, there's no effort despite how much money they spend on these things.

[00:27:26] And that's why it's so annoying and upsetting because it's like this is a cue concept, right?

[00:27:31] I like my bit Christmas.

[00:27:32] That's fantastic.

[00:27:33] I should like this but I am angry because like the music scene,

[00:27:39] I was like, oh my god.

[00:27:41] This is like a fourth grade, fourth grade or fourth grade or fourth grade song.

[00:27:44] Just the opening number.

[00:27:47] Yeah.

[00:27:47] Like, none of the music is interesting or good.

[00:27:50] Blin Manwell Miranda could have saved this maybe.

[00:27:53] But he's too expensive and he was probably busy writing Milana 6 right?

[00:27:59] My question is, does this problem cross over like Broadway?

[00:28:03] Like other entertainment spheres?

[00:28:06] Do you have Broadway musicals?

[00:28:08] New Broadway musicals coming out with like such kindergarten level songs in them

[00:28:13] and people in the world are like, oh this is problem with this.

[00:28:18] This is totally tangential.

[00:28:19] Audrey, the problem with Broadway now is that there's no original story.

[00:28:24] There are two things on Broadway, three things on Broadway.

[00:28:27] Right?

[00:28:28] Thing number one is it's either an existing property in that it's an existing story.

[00:28:34] It's based on a movie.

[00:28:36] And if it was popular in the 1980s they made a Marrita musical about it, right?

[00:28:39] Got it.

[00:28:40] Number two, or it's an original story with pre-existing songs.

[00:28:47] IE a Duke box musical.

[00:28:49] And three musical.

[00:28:51] Famous people have to be in it.

[00:28:54] That's the only way you're going to get people to Broadway and pay those kind of money.

[00:28:58] Dollars is a built-in story.

[00:29:00] It is the exact same as Hollywood.

[00:29:03] It is an existing IP.

[00:29:05] It's a sequel.

[00:29:06] It's somebody famous.

[00:29:08] It's a way to get people butts and seats that that's how the business works right now.

[00:29:12] Our money system is broken and the Fed.

[00:29:16] Money is meeting list and therefore everything is expensive and ran.

[00:29:22] I have a whole other tangent about capitalism and inflation.

[00:29:26] That's the thing.

[00:29:28] The capitalism we got incredible movies like Muppet Treasure Island.

[00:29:33] That's capitalism.

[00:29:34] I'm saying our money system is bad.

[00:29:36] Listen, I'm going to say that's why I'm on.

[00:29:38] That hasn't nothing to do with this movie.

[00:29:40] It does.

[00:29:41] It does because they paid all of those actors a budget.

[00:29:44] They paid all of those artists back around artists a budget.

[00:29:47] You know, they paid a writer to write music for it.

[00:29:50] They paid him money.

[00:29:52] I'm sure this movie was expensive to make because Disney's making it.

[00:29:56] But I'm saying we should demand better quality for what they are producing.

[00:30:02] With that amount of money.

[00:30:04] I don't disagree.

[00:30:07] You guys are right.

[00:30:08] These can be as rude right there.

[00:30:09] You're so close.

[00:30:10] I just, that's on.

[00:30:11] No.

[00:30:12] All of those.

[00:30:14] And Audrey, all of those things can be so much.

[00:30:16] And you can still enjoy it.

[00:30:18] It's so close.

[00:30:20] I don't want to.

[00:30:21] It's like going to McDonald's for cheeseburger or going to the friendlies in San Diego for a smash burger.

[00:30:28] They're like the same thing.

[00:30:30] They're both cheeseburgers.

[00:30:31] One of them costs seven dollars.

[00:30:34] The other costs $12.

[00:30:35] One of them is absolute slop and it comes from a chain.

[00:30:38] And the other one is slop, but it's the most delicious kind of slop.

[00:30:41] You could tell it's made with heart and love.

[00:30:45] And again, again, you're both so close.

[00:30:49] I'm not going to say anything more.

[00:30:52] So to sort of buttress your point.

[00:30:55] And I'm going to reiterate the fact that all of what you're saying can be true and it can be enjoyable at the same time.

[00:31:03] But this movie came out in October of 2021.

[00:31:07] In May of 2021, the attraction ride this movie was announced in development.

[00:31:14] May of 2021, it's announced in development October of 2021.

[00:31:17] It came out.

[00:31:19] So here's my, my main argument.

[00:31:25] Well, we get to the plot eventually.

[00:31:27] My main thing is it goes back to, but you like the muppets, but you like the on imagine.

[00:31:34] So therefore you will your average person who is like, hey, on a match of toilet paper, I can't wait to buy it because that'll,

[00:31:44] I, that will help me identify myself as the haunted mansion person or like,

[00:31:50] I'm going to buy it because that will like, it's like identifying me as the muppets fan.

[00:31:57] And it takes that and it's like, well, people are going to find ways to like this because they want to like it because they want to like the haunted mansion.

[00:32:09] They're going to like it because we'll, they'll like any haunted mansion slot that we put out there besides the movies.

[00:32:16] Same thing with the muppets, they liked what we did with the muppets with American history.

[00:32:21] What if we just like grafted the muppets lazily onto, let's just see what fits people are going to like it because they're going to feel obligated to.

[00:32:30] They have a lot of emotional investment with both of these properties.

[00:32:35] It's, it's basically a venn diagram that you're going to be like, okay, many people will like this regardless of if it's good or not.

[00:32:44] So they didn't bother making it good.

[00:32:46] I think just as a new question.

[00:32:49] Honestly, like there are some people, yes, that are going to do those mental gymnastics, but then there are some people that are just going to like it and that's.

[00:32:57] And let me ask you the question, so what?

[00:33:00] Right. Yeah.

[00:33:01] So that does, good.

[00:33:03] Well, nobody said it was good.

[00:33:06] Oh, sorry.

[00:33:07] Why can't you, it's bad.

[00:33:08] I like it.

[00:33:09] You like it.

[00:33:09] I mean, listen, muppets inherently are kind of bad. Like that's the whole point of the fact that they're kind of bad.

[00:33:17] Bad with style and heart and but there's intentional half-assidness about the muppets.

[00:33:24] Maybe it's very highly technical in order to make it look like it's half-assidness.

[00:33:28] Is this the same argument for let's keep chest or an hester's parking lot?

[00:33:33] The clean park opens.

[00:33:34] Stop it.

[00:33:34] No, it is. It's the same argument.

[00:33:36] I don't have that argument.

[00:33:38] I know. I know you don't. That's why I'm using it.

[00:33:43] It's what if we, if we say that we made something purposely bad, then we can just phone it in.

[00:33:50] I don't know if it would be saying that about this movie.

[00:33:53] I'm saying that.

[00:33:54] You just kind of said that about the muppets.

[00:33:58] Well, I'm not saying it about Chester and Hester.

[00:33:59] I'm not saying about this.

[00:34:00] What I'm saying about the muppets is that they're sort of, I mean, just by nature,

[00:34:05] the fact that they're puppets, Dan, that they're not meant to be photorealistic.

[00:34:12] They have them.

[00:34:13] Well, that's not the intent.

[00:34:17] And they're, I didn't say that it.

[00:34:19] With good puppetry, a puppet is life-like.

[00:34:25] A puppet, and it's the performance.

[00:34:28] It comes down to performance.

[00:34:29] I don't think any of the puppet performances in this movie are like, like, our life-like enough.

[00:34:35] I just think it's a bad performance.

[00:34:39] Maybe.

[00:34:40] I mean, from announcement to release was like four months.

[00:34:44] But again, that didn't need to be at the case.

[00:34:47] It didn't.

[00:34:47] But I, also, at the time, you know, things were a little bit harder to be made.

[00:34:53] COVID protocols got out of there trying to get content out on this.

[00:34:57] But I feel like that argument is sort of like, your hand, you order something that looks pretty good off the menu.

[00:35:03] Maybe not great, but then they hand you like a pile of diarrhea.

[00:35:07] And they're like, and it's chef's sick. What could you do?

[00:35:09] Right. Just tell me the chef's sick.

[00:35:11] And I'll be like, okay, I'll come back another time.

[00:35:14] Right.

[00:35:14] Yeah. I think if you have an extended period where you're like, what do we do?

[00:35:20] We don't, we can't do this certain thing.

[00:35:22] Well, it's like, maybe that's the time to pivot and try something completely different

[00:35:27] and take your time doing that instead of like, panic.

[00:35:31] Make a movie quick.

[00:35:34] Right? Well, that's the entire fucking show that we've been talking about for two

[00:35:39] thing years. That's what this whole thing is about.

[00:35:42] Now, this is not this movie.

[00:35:44] Not one of these video sequels. My point is, back to your point, I like a McDonald's cheeseburger.

[00:35:49] I like a Taco Bell burrito. I grew up with it.

[00:35:52] I think it tastes great. It's comfort food.

[00:35:55] It doesn't have to be really good in order to enjoy it.

[00:35:58] I don't have to have craftsmanship in my McDonald's cheeseburger in order to enjoy it.

[00:36:02] I don't disagree with you. I just think that that's the first point.

[00:36:06] The sticking point I have is this idea of like, what do you mean you didn't like this

[00:36:11] slop that McDonald's barely applied heat to?

[00:36:17] If you like it, that's fine.

[00:36:18] I mean, there may be a little defensiveness in that, but I mean,

[00:36:23] I like McDonald's too. There's a place for it.

[00:36:25] I, and I like, I like absolutely crap movies.

[00:36:29] But I'm not going to show someone manos the hands of fate and be like, what do you mean you didn't like it?

[00:36:38] Well, I don't know for the record, I didn't.

[00:36:41] If I did say that, I don't know that.

[00:36:44] I part of this episode. There's just me being funny because, you know,

[00:36:47] No, I'm not trying to be critical of you. I'm trying to be critical of you.

[00:36:55] The, the music's not great.

[00:36:58] It's half ass. The whole thing's half assed.

[00:37:01] But back to the McDonald's example, it doesn't mean that I didn't enjoy it.

[00:37:04] I didn't say it was great. I didn't say it was a phenomenal piece of art.

[00:37:08] It just, it, it takes the boxes for what I like about the muppets.

[00:37:12] It takes the box to about what I like about that ride.

[00:37:15] It pokes fun of itself.

[00:37:17] It's got some witty banter. It's got some great humor.

[00:37:20] And it's a good story. It's short. It's sweet. It takes the boxes.

[00:37:23] I enjoyed it. I think that it is many of those things,

[00:37:28] but it stops being a lot of those things when it becomes about the HANA mansion.

[00:37:33] I would have been very, about the specific art,

[00:37:36] the version of the HANA mansion that we have right now.

[00:37:38] I would have been very interested to see them like dig into the deep lore of it.

[00:37:44] Like where's, where's Gracie? Where's, you know, where's,

[00:37:47] where's that stuff? If you're going to make something for the fans,

[00:37:51] then you could have some things in it that are actual,

[00:37:55] like actual conceptual Easter eggs other than just like the fire's green,

[00:38:00] just like the ride and like, I mean,

[00:38:03] I don't know how much more, sorry Audrey really like.

[00:38:06] I don't know how much more lore you can get than Kim Irvine,

[00:38:11] the daughter of the lady who played the lady inside the glass ball.

[00:38:14] That's just like, hey, I know that. Audrey doesn't know what that is.

[00:38:17] No, I know that was. I was like, oh, that's the mademliota person,

[00:38:22] but in real life. That's your daughter.

[00:38:23] And I was distracted by her.

[00:38:25] All right. Well, it's her daughter,

[00:38:26] but I was distracted by her.

[00:38:27] She's a big independent.

[00:38:29] Does it mention air?

[00:38:30] Well, she's an imaginary.

[00:38:31] So, you came here.

[00:38:33] Using your boxes metaphor,

[00:38:36] my boxes, I think, are much smaller than Jimi's.

[00:38:39] So like, yes, there are boxes for, is this a muffin movie?

[00:38:42] Is this a haunted mansion thing?

[00:38:44] Is it funny?

[00:38:45] Is it breaking the fourth wall?

[00:38:47] Like, yes, it ticks those boxes,

[00:38:50] but for me, the boxes are a little more specific

[00:38:52] and I just feel like they weren't saddest.

[00:38:55] They just like, my expectations are higher

[00:38:58] for things with muppets titled on them

[00:39:00] and things with haunted mansion,

[00:39:02] titled on them and things with Disney titled on them.

[00:39:05] Makes sense?

[00:39:06] You know what?

[00:39:07] I think I figured it out.

[00:39:09] You guys hate Patsay Jack?

[00:39:12] Yes, that's actually true.

[00:39:13] Who is Patsay Jack?

[00:39:16] The devil.

[00:39:18] Nighty.

[00:39:19] Patsay Jack is a game show host of the Wheel of Fortune.

[00:39:24] No, yes, Wheel of Fortune.

[00:39:25] Patsay Jack.

[00:39:26] Right? You've seen him.

[00:39:27] You've seen pictures.

[00:39:28] He's in the pussy as one of this singing busts.

[00:39:31] And just for Luther, first of all,

[00:39:34] I want to make a correction.

[00:39:34] I realize that a pile of diarrhea is not physically possible.

[00:39:39] Also, I'm referencing an ongoing joke that I've had in my own life

[00:39:43] that Patsay Jack isn't fact the devil

[00:39:46] because I have always found that funny.

[00:39:48] There we go.

[00:39:50] Or, yes, it fits for sure.

[00:39:52] And you know who the new devil is when Patsay Jack dies?

[00:39:56] He's protected.

[00:39:57] He's protected died.

[00:39:59] Oh, he did not.

[00:40:01] He just retired like a week and a half ago.

[00:40:02] Let's do the same thing.

[00:40:03] He doesn't.

[00:40:05] We'll have fortune.

[00:40:08] All right, you know what?

[00:40:09] You guys.

[00:40:11] Instead of attending the Muppets Annual Halloween Party,

[00:40:15] Ganzo and Pepe are on the way to a fear challenge.

[00:40:19] It's an event in the same on-to-dubansion

[00:40:22] where Ganzo's favorite magician, The Great Maguffin,

[00:40:26] disappeared 100 years ago.

[00:40:30] Upon being dropped off by their hers driver

[00:40:33] event in the cold brown community, et cetera.

[00:40:36] Where was the elevator?

[00:40:39] Well, we hold on.

[00:40:41] We're out there.

[00:40:42] Ganzo and Pepe are in the same way.

[00:40:46] That's true.

[00:40:48] Anyway, Ganzo and Pepe meet the caretaker played by Darren Chris,

[00:40:52] along with several ghosts and...

[00:40:54] Oh, that was Darren Chris.

[00:40:57] I knew that guy looked familiar.

[00:40:59] He's the one from that very potter musical.

[00:41:01] I don't think so.

[00:41:03] Why didn't you like to move me then?

[00:41:04] Yeah, I do.

[00:41:07] All right, a little bit of reference here.

[00:41:11] A couple things to note just a little sidebar.

[00:41:15] The numbers on the haunted mansion, 924.

[00:41:18] There are references to Jim Henson's birthday September 24th.

[00:41:22] Oh, that's coming up.

[00:41:25] Danny Treho.

[00:41:27] Well, and it's either coming up or it's already passed.

[00:41:33] Oh, that's a nothing.

[00:41:36] Danny Treho appears as a prisoner ghost.

[00:41:39] Do you guys know why?

[00:41:41] Because he was a prisoner in Muppet's most wanted.

[00:41:45] And in real life.

[00:41:47] You know what?

[00:41:47] You can take it back because maybe it's amazing.

[00:41:50] Among the celebrities that Pepe hopes to meet at the big Hollywood Halloween party.

[00:41:56] When asking the ghost host about whether there's any famous people at the haunted mansion

[00:42:03] is Ryan Gosling and he, Ryan Gosling was attached to Guillermo del Toro's canceled haunted mansion rebounds.

[00:42:12] You know what?

[00:42:13] Yeah, I take it back.

[00:42:14] Frick an epic.

[00:42:16] The feeling that I felt while watching the movie was in fact wrong.

[00:42:21] This was this is just weight dead.

[00:42:24] Kubrick can go for himself.

[00:42:26] This is the best.

[00:42:27] So what I love, I love Pepe and one of the, here's a, one of the moments I like they meet the ghost host.

[00:42:33] I like Will Arnett.

[00:42:35] I think he's funny.

[00:42:36] I like a great job.

[00:42:38] And you did a good job in this movie.

[00:42:39] Not one of the, one of the gags I liked was he greets Pepe and has a short conversation with him in Spanish.

[00:42:48] And the, Pepe in Spanish is to use to speak Spanish and he says no.

[00:42:52] Just thought that was funny.

[00:42:53] Yes.

[00:42:54] Sure.

[00:42:58] I had been laughing recently, then maybe it would have hit harder.

[00:43:04] Like it hungers the best medicine or I mean hungers the best sauce.

[00:43:09] If I was deprived of comedy, then I would have laughed at that.

[00:43:13] But because I had just finished performing and improv show and stuff or something,

[00:43:19] I was just like, I should be laughing at that line or like that.

[00:43:23] You should have lined that was meant for a laugh.

[00:43:26] You shouldn't be engaging in fun of your thing.

[00:43:28] So what if, what if we did, I feel like this kind of commentary where you're like, look,

[00:43:34] it's, look, it's Ryan Seekrest or Ryan Reynolds.

[00:43:37] Who did you say earlier?

[00:43:39] The other actor?

[00:43:41] The other one.

[00:43:41] Ryan Gosling.

[00:43:42] Ryan Gosling.

[00:43:43] That's the one.

[00:43:44] If you had, if I had been watching that movie with your commentary, then I'd be more interested.

[00:43:49] I'd be like, oh, got it.

[00:43:53] Because yeah, I was not drawn into the world of this movie the way I would have been.

[00:44:00] I would have been good movie would do.

[00:44:02] And if that's the case then I just start asking questions.

[00:44:04] And if I'm not getting like commentary on the side, then I don't find that as stimulating and

[00:44:11] enriching experience at all.

[00:44:12] I just find it like why am I watching this?

[00:44:15] I was interested in a different way, but I wouldn't have enjoyed the movie itself more.

[00:44:22] Like the actual watching experience would have been like, oh, I learned some stuff.

[00:44:26] Yeah, but that's just that's how movies work.

[00:44:29] No, no.

[00:44:30] And just like Andrew Dan.

[00:44:33] And we have a whole of the podcast about this.

[00:44:35] So that you can go on a ride or see, go on a theme park attraction and enjoy it.

[00:44:41] But then when you find out about all the different nuances and all the things we built a podcast empire around this whole thing is like this part is I didn't enjoy it.

[00:44:52] So I don't care.

[00:44:53] Well, perhaps.

[00:44:55] You were just, you decided you weren't going to enjoy it well.

[00:44:57] No, that's not true.

[00:44:58] That is not true at all.

[00:45:00] I do, I look, I understand that people might think that about me but I like blew milk.

[00:45:07] Like that is, like,

[00:45:09] I, that is, I don't know how else to explain.

[00:45:13] You either have to know me or not.

[00:45:15] I completely get the people have this impression on me but I look, I like, I don't know what else to tell you.

[00:45:23] But like, I, my refer, initial reaction to this scene was, well, first of all, the scene in the graveyard.

[00:45:33] And that's where I threw my remote when I watched it years ago.

[00:45:38] And reason being, it's just, let's just, we're going to find this thing and we're going to, like, why don't I, I'm,

[00:45:48] anyone can decide I'm going to make a song based on the items that I see in the pet food aisle.

[00:45:56] And they can just do that.

[00:45:58] And that's what they did with this. It was just, okay, here are some headstone that already exist.

[00:46:05] Let's turn them into a song.

[00:46:07] Let's have a, let's cameo by a celebrity who we can afford.

[00:46:13] It's like my dad, presentation while you're presenting.

[00:46:16] Yeah, it's, in, I, like, I get that it takes some skill to do that but, like, marginal at the, at the most.

[00:46:25] It's, it's, that's, that's, they do better. They're capable of doing better work.

[00:46:32] That, that's really the main thing. I mean, and I can't, I can't ignore that fact,

[00:46:39] especially when the Disney company doesn't use, I think this is the main thing.

[00:46:44] The Disney company hasn't used the mopets as much as they should have.

[00:46:49] So when they do, it should be good. And this isn't.

[00:46:55] The ghost hosts, who's will earn it.

[00:46:57] Tells by the way that he's right.

[00:46:59] That is not a thing in the ride.

[00:47:01] That's a mademoiselle to think.

[00:47:02] Well, our net's not on the ride. I get it.

[00:47:06] Sorry, I'm sorry. I'm really not trying to frustrate here.

[00:47:09] The ghost host tells Gonso that he, in some kind of an engine to see if he can survive one night.

[00:47:14] If he cannot, he and Pepe will be trapped there forever.

[00:47:17] While Gonso claims he fears nothing, spoiler warning.

[00:47:21] Pepe is easily scared by everything he sees in the mansion.

[00:47:25] Okay, a couple things in this opening thing. So this is for you, Audrey,

[00:47:30] that this opening scene is meant to be sort of the lobby of the mansion, which is,

[00:47:34] Yes, why have been on the ride twice?

[00:47:37] So, you know, exactly.

[00:47:37] You know what I'm talking about.

[00:47:39] Well, you went on the, on a mansion holiday version, right?

[00:47:42] Yes, but when I was a kid, I went on the OG.

[00:47:45] Got it.

[00:47:45] All right. So this is the lobby you're supposed to be.

[00:47:48] I don't know what CG you're talking about. I think most of this is practical.

[00:47:53] It's not.

[00:47:53] It's good CG.

[00:47:54] Some of it is very good CG, but it's not.

[00:47:56] This room is practical.

[00:47:58] That candle opera is practical.

[00:48:00] No, look at the flames.

[00:48:02] The flames are digitally added in.

[00:48:07] Well, like how much money they paid a guy to sit there and draw in candles?

[00:48:13] Okay, the only way I can justify this is that they were afraid of lighting them up.

[00:48:17] It's on fire.

[00:48:19] That's not only way.

[00:48:22] It's just like how much money did you spend on.

[00:48:25] You still need to add this low.

[00:48:27] Like a real candle costs what?

[00:48:31] 10 bucks?

[00:48:33] Hmm, a candle opera maybe.

[00:48:34] A candle is not that much.

[00:48:35] I just, it's just, so stupid.

[00:48:38] I agree.

[00:48:39] I'm going to, yes, it happened to what you were saying, which is,

[00:48:42] I do believe that the candle opera itself is physical.

[00:48:45] But the flames are hard to do.

[00:48:48] Yes, that's what I'm trying to say.

[00:48:49] And I think, I think where I'm going with this, what I'm taking from what you're saying,

[00:48:54] what, what I'm picking up from what you're putting down is that if you're going to go in and

[00:48:59] take the time to make the flames, the flames don't look bad.

[00:49:02] But they do look bad if you don't have the glow that the candle emits,

[00:49:07] which is like, I mean, I couldn't do it in an afternoon, but like a special effects person

[00:49:12] that's going in to do that CG work could hardly do it in an afternoon.

[00:49:17] Can I just say, who the f*** cares about the candle?

[00:49:20] I can't hold on you.

[00:49:21] It's not what you watch the movie.

[00:49:22] That's not the thing.

[00:49:23] No, it's so distracting to me.

[00:49:25] Like yes.

[00:49:26] Like you could have spent less money to make this movie look 2% more real.

[00:49:34] And like anyway,

[00:49:36] one of the things that I enjoyed about this scene is,

[00:49:39] you know, there's that whole trope of somebody says something scary,

[00:49:44] thunder strikes and then there's dent, and this is two like skeleton muppets come out.

[00:49:49] Dentont, dentont, dentont, dentont.

[00:49:50] And that's just funny every time we do that.

[00:49:52] He's extra, he made a mistake.

[00:49:55] I thought that was fun.

[00:49:56] Rich actions are inherently funny.

[00:49:57] Exactly.

[00:49:58] And it's a funny, you know, can it be overdone?

[00:50:02] Sure.

[00:50:03] But I thought it was fun.

[00:50:04] It's very muffity.

[00:50:06] That whole thing's very muffity.

[00:50:07] Yes, yes.

[00:50:09] I enjoyed that.

[00:50:13] Alright, so the ghost host tells me, stay for the country.

[00:50:16] I know something that's going to make you feel better.

[00:50:19] And it's this commercial break right now.

[00:50:22] There you go. How do you feel?

[00:50:24] About the same.

[00:50:24] I feel better.

[00:50:26] Well, I feel better.

[00:50:27] Are you feeling something like how I might have felt during the Holland Mansion episode of

[00:50:32] a Supreme Resort?

[00:50:34] Who me?

[00:50:34] I don't know.

[00:50:35] I'm not you.

[00:50:37] I'm not.

[00:50:38] I'm not.

[00:50:39] I'm not.

[00:50:39] But so in my, in my overview here, it's gives a lot of detail in nuance like when

[00:50:44] Pepe sees Disney land,

[00:50:47] phonetic owner of the original Disneyland sign one Mr. John Stamos.

[00:50:53] That's why he was in this video.

[00:50:54] That's why he was in this video.

[00:50:55] Yeah, he's a huge Disney fan.

[00:50:58] That's why.

[00:50:58] So like, Stamos has original dumbbell vehicle.

[00:51:02] He's got the original Disneyland sign that was on Heartable of Art and as Yard.

[00:51:05] He's a huge Disney parks guy.

[00:51:08] There's also in the video for Coco.

[00:51:10] Oh, by the beach boys.

[00:51:11] I see once he played the drums and who are was it filmed?

[00:51:14] The place that you were married.

[00:51:16] And the grandfather at Ian.

[00:51:18] The point is I was married.

[00:51:19] Okay.

[00:51:20] That's a fun little scene with a hate turns out he's a monster.

[00:51:23] It's a scam.

[00:51:24] John's Gary.

[00:51:25] So after meeting Madam Pegoda who resembles Miss Pege.

[00:51:31] Ganzo and Pepe come across a room full of several ghosts resembling various muppets.

[00:51:38] The host soon appears in the form sconso that in order to survive the mansion,

[00:51:42] he must face his fears in room 999.

[00:51:47] I need okay.

[00:51:48] So this,

[00:51:50] the Ken Mervein part made me want to scream and I might have.

[00:51:55] But I understand she has Walt Disney Imagineerings,

[00:51:59] and Megan McCain.

[00:52:00] So we have to include her.

[00:52:03] Second time I was able to tell that joke I'd be waiting years.

[00:52:07] I, and then when Sweden comes in and takes them to the ballroom,

[00:52:14] I thought okay maybe the first 20 or so however long minutes of this movie

[00:52:20] was garbage.

[00:52:23] But oh my goodness is this possibly getting good?

[00:52:26] Are we getting to a possible story?

[00:52:29] Are we introducing new aspects from the right itself that are unexplored?

[00:52:34] Like the idea that there's this throwaway line in the actual ride where they say,

[00:52:42] there's 9009 and happy haunts but it's room 4,000.

[00:52:45] If you want to film like in behind, you may not need to volunteer.

[00:52:49] So super fan there.

[00:52:50] Feel free to tell me that I missed some lines there.

[00:52:53] Have you seen the title he has for that one?

[00:52:58] And then, and then in this part of the movie I'm using that term really loosely was.

[00:53:05] Are they going to, are they're going to actually like,

[00:53:08] or they're going to play with this idea of them wanting you to be the thousandth ghost?

[00:53:16] And what would that mean in a story?

[00:53:18] How would that operate?

[00:53:19] Isn't that interesting?

[00:53:21] How would that function?

[00:53:22] I mean I'm sad just like it's like function by that movie that came out that we talked about last year.

[00:53:26] That's how would that work function?

[00:53:29] But like the muppets are playing with that and yeah I'm sad that we don't actually have,

[00:53:35] I would have loved to have it be like a Scooby-Doo mystery with the muppets.

[00:53:39] I would have loved for them to like maybe not go to the HANA mansion but A HANA mansion with HANA mansion elements.

[00:53:47] But we got to this point and I'm like oh maybe I just maybe this is going to be okay.

[00:53:52] Maybe I'll make it and then it gets bad again.

[00:53:55] So then the ballroom scene, this is song life here after.

[00:54:01] There are five, five nods, five nods to the song B.R. Gast from B.R. in the Beast and this part of the movie.

[00:54:08] First of all also, secondly this is a, this is a made for TV movie meant to be shown on the Disney channel with commercial breaks.

[00:54:16] It's 49 minutes long with credits like it's meant to be.

[00:54:19] But your average muppet show episode is better than this.

[00:54:23] Perhaps.

[00:54:25] All right, so the Ghost House introduction to Ghanzo and Pepe's funerals is strikingly similar to Lumiere's opening lines of the start of the song.

[00:54:34] After the host sings about flying candle lobera, Rizzo sings the lines but he ain't French in a can't crune.

[00:54:42] Clearly referencing Lumiere, Yolanda and the host, then sing last.

[00:54:47] We did that in a beastly cartoon she was a beauty.

[00:54:53] Take it back to seen a terrible one of the lyrics we tell jokes I do tricks with my deadly candlesticks obviously aligned that we tell jokes I do tricks.

[00:55:02] We got the Ghost host line you're all alone but don't be scared.

[00:55:08] We've got your wake all prepared is a nod to your alone and you're scared but the bank was all prepared.

[00:55:15] A near the lyric corpse by corpse and one by one till you shout my life is done.

[00:55:22] That it would have been funnier if they just use the be my guest music and then rewrote the lyrics.

[00:55:29] Yeah, maybe.

[00:55:31] We're gonna get better song.

[00:55:32] If it's a mupp if they're gonna go there if they're already taking one property and like make it muppets.

[00:55:38] Why not muppets?

[00:55:39] By the way, the other thing.

[00:55:41] Listen, if you're hearing the pills that I'm taking currently it is just normal like medication and.

[00:55:48] I ask my currently but if you want to pretend that I'm trying to overdose on pills because of this.

[00:55:54] That's so dark.

[00:55:57] Maybe that's a problem with the thousands the ghost thing like you have to spend a whole movie convincing someone to give up their life.

[00:56:05] To be a ghost in the heart man.

[00:56:06] And like that's dark.

[00:56:09] That's like suicide.

[00:56:11] You can't put that in a Disney movie.

[00:56:13] Yeah, there was a whole movie about it.

[00:56:15] They just released it.

[00:56:16] We had a whole podcast with Eric about that.

[00:56:17] That's what that movie was.

[00:56:18] You didn't like that either.

[00:56:19] I don't think that would be better.

[00:56:21] She's like that.

[00:56:22] I'm not saying that.

[00:56:22] I was just saying that.

[00:56:24] Yeah, I'm saying that Disney is making they're trying so hard to make the haunted mansion into a story.

[00:56:33] But like.

[00:56:34] I want to bring you back to that imagery of the overbread dog.

[00:56:39] And how it.

[00:56:41] Yeah.

[00:56:42] One of the ending shots from life here after song references one of the closing shots from the Muppet shows opening theme.

[00:56:48] That part was cool.

[00:56:49] It was cute.

[00:56:50] That's fun.

[00:56:51] That's a fun little.

[00:56:52] It was a little trivia bit.

[00:56:54] I could have used more of that.

[00:56:55] Honestly, I could have used more Muppets in less haunted mansion I think.

[00:56:58] I think that's what it comes down to.

[00:57:00] Okay.

[00:57:00] Yeah.

[00:57:01] Because it's not it's I feel like they were and there's another part of this that I wish

[00:57:09] that this doesn't exist and it didn't impact my consumption of this, but I think there's some

[00:57:16] of this in there.

[00:57:18] When this came out everything had just reopened in the parks or for the most the parks it reopened.

[00:57:23] Some things were still not open and a hot imagine opened and it was like so cool.

[00:57:31] It's been so long.

[00:57:32] It's been well, year or so but like things have been sat and then and I feel like oh I

[00:57:38] remiss the pirates the care band and I missed on a mansion right afterwards.

[00:57:43] And then it occurred to me that oh they're going to close on a mansion and they're going to

[00:57:49] make a hot imagine holiday.

[00:57:50] And that upset me and then they came out with this and I was like wait a minute.

[00:57:57] You're acknowledging that people love the haunted mansion.

[00:58:00] Why can't we just love the haunted mansion?

[00:58:03] Why can't we like just have it be the thing?

[00:58:06] And I get that that's not a reason.

[00:58:08] It's not the reason that I dislike this movie by a long shot, but it's it's just in there

[00:58:13] and it goes back to that like the overbread dog.

[00:58:17] It's like sat and sat and sat and it's like this is a thing that people love but do they love it or do they love loving it?

[00:58:29] And it's like there's that haunted mansion person.

[00:58:32] I guarantee if you go to one of the parks with like more for or more people at some point,

[00:58:37] one of them will be like I love the haunted mansion so much because I'm dark and I'm like scary things

[00:58:44] and I like dark things.

[00:58:45] And then you try to engage with them and it's just like,

[00:58:48] I just like the man Leo to earrings or whatever.

[00:58:51] It's like it's there's no there's such a little depth of understanding.

[00:58:59] When people engage in that level of fandom where it's just like, okay, you just like the aesthetics of it.

[00:59:04] That's fine and this movie is a lot of that for me.

[00:59:07] It's just like there's again, where's the Gracie?

[00:59:11] Where's all the where's all the deep cut stuff instead it's just like, well, it's not that it's on the mansion.

[00:59:16] You're gonna like it's stupid so there you go enjoy your slot.

[00:59:22] As Gonzo's lit into room.

[00:59:26] Pipe a pepe, pepe, pepe, pepe better.

[00:59:28] His name's pepe now.

[00:59:30] Pepe meets and becomes entranced by the ghost of Constance Hatcherway.

[00:59:36] Teragee, pe answered.

[00:59:37] Pepe, pepe, pepe, pepe.

[00:59:40] Pepe, pepe.

[00:59:41] Bidry, so I would just kind of to Dan's point.

[00:59:46] Okay this ride comes out in 1966.

[00:59:52] 67.

[00:59:55] And it's just a ride.

[00:59:57] Yeah, it's a ride.

[01:00:03] Okay.

[01:00:04] Dan, that wasn't hard.

[01:00:06] That's a...

[01:00:08] It's so odd, it's a ride, right?

[01:00:11] Like many things at Disney, it's an idea.

[01:00:15] It was a museum of the weird.

[01:00:17] It was gonna be a walk through.

[01:00:18] It's gonna be a scary ride.

[01:00:19] No, it's gonna be a funny ride.

[01:00:21] No, it's gonna be a Epcotts and other example.

[01:00:24] Epcot was two different theme parks.

[01:00:26] Here's this future world idea.

[01:00:27] Here's this world like forever world's fair idea.

[01:00:32] Let's just put them together.

[01:00:33] This ride is a little different.

[01:00:35] It's a conglomerate of ideas, okay?

[01:00:40] Over the years, get fans have created a story.

[01:00:46] Like, well this is really what it's about

[01:00:48] And there's this person that does this and there's this...

[01:00:51] There's this lore that was created by the fandom.

[01:00:55] And there's multiple different versions.

[01:00:56] To add to that, that was kind of the idea when

[01:01:00] When the imaginers were talking about, is it gonna be this?

[01:01:03] This is gonna be that.

[01:01:04] And they were like, well what if we just had the whispers of all of that?

[01:01:08] And then people can kind of take what they're going to take from it.

[01:01:11] Which was so a great idea.

[01:01:14] So when Dan's talking about where's this, where's that?

[01:01:17] I don't know that was ultimately the original intention.

[01:01:22] And so you take from what you want to take from it.

[01:01:25] Right.

[01:01:26] I'm just saying that it wouldn't have been the people that it's made for

[01:01:31] That would have that all that like it or inclined to like it.

[01:01:35] Wouldn't like it less if it had more depth of understanding of what this property was.

[01:01:42] And sure, and more people, assholes like me,

[01:01:46] would probably be more inclined to at least not be repulsed by it.

[01:01:50] But this movie was not made for you.

[01:01:53] No, very clearly not.

[01:01:55] But it could have worked.

[01:01:56] But there are things that they could have done to make it.

[01:02:00] And I argue that they did.

[01:02:02] I argue that they didn't put in one sentence that only people who were true fans would appreciate.

[01:02:10] But like,

[01:02:12] And I know it's Kim Irvine is a dumb example, but it's an example.

[01:02:16] 90% of the people watching that have no idea what that means and why it's there.

[01:02:21] But it's not to people who know.

[01:02:24] But it's a cheap knot is why it's sure to you.

[01:02:28] Yeah, I mean, it would have taken.

[01:02:31] But Audrey didn't know she didn't know with that.

[01:02:33] I knew that she was important.

[01:02:36] She was an important cameo.

[01:02:37] I didn't know because she was a bad actor.

[01:02:40] Yes, that's why.

[01:02:41] If she was a good actress, you would not understand it.

[01:02:47] I think maybe but at least then I'd have a good actor.

[01:02:53] Like it wouldn't be enough.

[01:02:55] I get that they're putting nods in, but if the knot is not going to be good, then maybe try something different.

[01:03:04] All right.

[01:03:04] We'll get into some more nods in a little bit.

[01:03:06] Alright, so Torresbee Henson plans to marry and kill a P.P.

[01:03:11] No, it was about the time I was starting to nod off.

[01:03:17] So as he meets the ghosts of her past husbands, she cut all their heads off.

[01:03:23] Gonzales trapped in room 999 with room number sign turning upside down.

[01:03:28] What is that 999 upside down?

[01:03:29] That will remember I'm like a six.

[01:03:32] Six and starts to turn old as reflection tons him.

[01:03:36] Recallion conversation with Kermit, he had earlier.

[01:03:39] Gonzale realizes he is indeed afraid of something that no one will like him if he does not do dangerous stunts.

[01:03:46] That's what he thought.

[01:03:47] He then remembers the host advice of facing his fears being the key to escaping the room.

[01:03:54] After fearing he will be trapped in the mansion forever.

[01:03:57] Gonzale ultimately realizes he is afraid of never seeing his friends again and the room de-aages and releases him.

[01:04:04] I did appreciate that this was a nod to the aging portrait in the Florida version of La Matchon.

[01:04:14] I didn't dislike this part much.

[01:04:18] It seemed a little bit too easy to be solved but whatever it's fine.

[01:04:23] It was a thing.

[01:04:23] You had to finish it in the time.

[01:04:24] I also appreciated the mirror quote unquote two different puppets in the puppeteers trying to mimic the movement that could like that.

[01:04:32] The host congratulates Gonzale for facing his fears and tells him that he is free to go as long as he makes it out by sunrise.

[01:04:38] After realizing that Pepe is in trouble, Gonzale refuses to leave without him.

[01:04:43] With the help of the host, Candelabra without real flames.

[01:04:48] Gonzale is able to find peepy and stop the wedding.

[01:04:51] The pair jump out of the window and make it out of the mansion just as the sun rises.

[01:04:55] Final paragraph.

[01:04:57] The host meets them at the gate revealing himself to be the great Maguffin who is impressed that Gonzale was willing to do what he could

[01:05:07] not face his fears.

[01:05:10] That's what Maguffin couldn't do with faces.

[01:05:12] He was stuck in the mansion forever.

[01:05:18] The host driver picks them up and Cermit, the video calls asking the pair to meet him and the other

[01:05:24] Muppets for breakfast.

[01:05:25] He then comments that Gonzale and Pepe, Pepe, should bring their friends along leading the two to turn and see the hitchhiking goes behind there.

[01:05:35] Oh, that's what you call.

[01:05:41] Okay.

[01:05:43] So there's an article from ScreenRant about the top 10 Disney attraction Muppets could visit or the thing the book.

[01:05:53] All right, so they're the 10.

[01:05:54] The busts.

[01:05:56] One of the most unnerving moments of the attraction comes as guests exit the stretching room.

[01:06:02] Make their way towards the ride vehicles.

[01:06:04] This is at Disneyland.

[01:06:06] At Disney World, it's on the ride.

[01:06:08] At the end of a long hallway are a series of busts that appear to follow guests with their eyes no matter where they walk.

[01:06:14] I'm getting chills now.

[01:06:17] The special, this special uses the memorable gag as an opportunity for Dr. Bunsen, Honeydew and Beaker.

[01:06:24] Hey, look, characters from Muppets that are in it.

[01:06:27] To make humorous, cameo in Muppets on a mansion.

[01:06:31] Honeydew even comments that he helped.

[01:06:33] He hoped for a bigger appearance.

[01:06:36] But he was relegated to this because budget constraints.

[01:06:41] Hmm.

[01:06:43] Providing a funny moment and a great tribute to the fan favorite aspect of the ride.

[01:06:47] It's like it's like making the movie was a force of nature that they had no choice.

[01:06:52] Like they were like, we're going to shut down your company if you don't make this movie.

[01:06:57] That's not what happened.

[01:06:58] They could have taken a couple more films.

[01:07:00] I felt like they did it at gunpoint.

[01:07:02] Is what you're saying?

[01:07:03] Well, that but also like it.

[01:07:08] It doesn't.

[01:07:09] I get that like.

[01:07:12] What you're offering in terms of like the budget and the time constraints and all that.

[01:07:17] That's a reason for it to be bad, but it's not an excuse for it to be bad.

[01:07:24] Okay.

[01:07:25] So hey, Chuck and Ghosts.

[01:07:26] We talked about it's at the end of the ride.

[01:07:28] Also at the end of the movie.

[01:07:30] The Doombuggies, the ride vehicle, one of the most recognizable elements of the

[01:07:34] Honda Mansion traction is the ride vehicle known as Doombuggie.

[01:07:38] Doombuggie's operate with an omnimover system that leads above of a.

[01:07:41] In the movie, perpetual hecklers statin are involved or show up in a Doombuggie.

[01:07:48] During Fanzi stand-up comedy routine, considering that the characters usually appear in a theater.

[01:07:52] It is a clever way to incorporate the ride vehicle.

[01:07:57] The signature announcement also plays during the segment adding another fun and not fun, not to the ride.

[01:08:03] Oh yeah.

[01:08:05] The ride breaking down.

[01:08:07] Yeah.

[01:08:08] When I saw the new button.

[01:08:09] I can't say.

[01:08:11] When I saw the Doombuggie with satin on all doors, that was when that moment of.

[01:08:18] Is it possible this movie is getting better?

[01:08:20] That's when it ended.

[01:08:23] And on top of that, when the dueling portraits were not.

[01:08:30] When they came to life, I was like, oh, it's going to be statin and wall door.

[01:08:32] If that's a really cool way to use them.

[01:08:35] And it wasn't.

[01:08:36] And then they did the right breakdown thing.

[01:08:38] And I was just like, okay, I hate this movie again.

[01:08:41] This is awful.

[01:08:42] Okay.

[01:08:43] Customs hatchaway is the villain.

[01:08:47] She's obviously in the ride.

[01:08:49] In the attic, especially when the guests can see evidence of constant.

[01:08:53] Sashway multiple weddings and subsequent murders over husbands.

[01:08:57] The caretaker in the graveyard of in the ride following the attic guests on the attraction

[01:09:02] that then wished away to the graveyard where they can see the groundskeeper in his dog looking terrified as the ghost rise up from the grave

[01:09:09] and break out at the song.

[01:09:13] Hands and eyes inside.

[01:09:15] The stretchings in the stretching room, which is my favorite part.

[01:09:20] Before guests even get on the actual ride, the Honda Manchin's cue offers plenty of memorable moments.

[01:09:25] None more iconic than the stretching room.

[01:09:27] As the walls expand, the seemingly normal portraits extend to reveal dark images.

[01:09:32] The room without windows or doors builds to a shocking e-grip moment as the ghost host offers a solution on how to get out.

[01:09:40] That was like true to the ride.

[01:09:44] Are the singing bars, Pat Sagex, one of them?

[01:09:47] I wouldn't have enjoyed this more if it was just straight up the Muppet Show from the actual Honda Manchin.

[01:09:53] Yeah.

[01:09:54] It's supposed to kind of was.

[01:09:57] Grimina goes the busts.

[01:09:59] It's interesting idea.

[01:10:02] They double as celebrity cameos and they're played by Sky Jackson.

[01:10:07] Jeff Knight.

[01:10:09] Pat Sagex, justina Makato and Craig Robinson goes to the singing busts.

[01:10:15] The hat box goes to course played by Fasi,

[01:10:19] Madame Leota is played by Miss Piggy.

[01:10:23] The ghost host monologue.

[01:10:25] We hear a lot of that from old, what's his name?

[01:10:29] Will Arnett.

[01:10:30] Those are some fun things.

[01:10:31] I think that's about it.

[01:10:33] There's obviously more, but those are the main nods to the ride.

[01:10:39] Grim-Gunning ghost plays throughout, which is the song.

[01:10:47] The special closing shot is an homage to the title credits for the Muppet movie.

[01:10:55] Yeah, I think that's it.

[01:10:57] Madame Leota should be my favorite movie.

[01:10:59] I'm not gonna argue about that.

[01:11:03] But that's all I'm saying.

[01:11:04] It's terrible.

[01:11:06] I wasn't my favorite.

[01:11:08] There's no, there's no, the character's nothing there's.

[01:11:13] It's just a double down so hard on your thinker birth.

[01:11:17] It's just a soul action of things.

[01:11:20] Yeah, chin up, damn that.

[01:11:22] Look at that ticker verse.

[01:11:24] It's brighter days ahead.

[01:11:29] Real quick.

[01:11:30] Here's what we're gonna drink while we watch this movie and I will be watching it again.

[01:11:35] And again, for years to come because crap it might be.

[01:11:38] I like it.

[01:11:39] It takes all the boxes for me.

[01:11:40] It's a joy in that fun.

[01:11:41] That's fun.

[01:11:42] That is fine.

[01:11:43] That is absolutely fine.

[01:11:44] By the way, I think we have a weird lag between all three of us.

[01:11:47] And we are not going to sit in that waiting room again.

[01:11:51] So let's just deal with that.

[01:11:53] We're power through.

[01:11:54] Yeah.

[01:11:55] Okay, so the booby trap brewing company in England.

[01:11:59] You said it.

[01:12:01] Thank booby.

[01:12:03] Boobie.

[01:12:03] There this beer we're going to drink while watching it is called Muppetry.

[01:12:10] Who's our infet?

[01:12:12] Oh my God.

[01:12:13] That's not what you do.

[01:12:14] Dan, that's a red card.

[01:12:16] That's.

[01:12:18] Muppetry is our inaugural brew from booby trap brewing company.

[01:12:23] Launching our new brewery based in Westcott.

[01:12:26] That's in England with smooth caramel notes, citrus and pine aromas and a dry clean finish.

[01:12:31] Absolutely no muppets were harmed during the making of this beer.

[01:12:36] Also Westcott that's interesting that their brewery is located in an alternative.

[01:12:42] Alternative.

[01:12:42] You're a universe.

[01:12:44] This is an American pale ale with APV or ABV is 5.6%.

[01:12:48] And it pairs well.

[01:12:50] You're going to like this with pork.

[01:12:53] Mmm, yum.

[01:12:56] Also pairs well with sea bass, ceviche, chocolate and cherry getto.

[01:13:01] Oh, I'm hungry.

[01:13:02] My mouth is watering.

[01:13:04] Yeah.

[01:13:04] What do we need besides pork and cherry getto?

[01:13:07] We're having tofu for dinner with gravy,

[01:13:11] scented with the smell of hair spray because I feel like you need a lot of hair spray

[01:13:16] to make muppets look good on camera and tofu for ghee because of course.

[01:13:22] Because you're not having live flames nearby, I'm Audrey.

[01:13:26] Oh god.

[01:13:28] If I'm not, I know I'm not crazy about this listeners.

[01:13:32] Tell me, leave a review.

[01:13:34] Tell me I'm wrong or don't.

[01:13:38] How many start right now?

[01:13:39] Real candles matter.

[01:13:41] Ah, tree.

[01:13:42] You're out there.

[01:13:44] One, two, five stars.

[01:13:46] Five stars for us.

[01:13:47] Right the bad stuff.

[01:13:48] Yeah.

[01:13:48] And listen if you want to write the bad stuff, give us five stars for us.

[01:13:51] Compliment question compliment.

[01:13:54] Yes.

[01:13:55] Um, so what we're going to be listening to?

[01:14:00] I have a few examples because I just, there's so much to get into here.

[01:14:06] I found, so I did a search for worst parody songs ever.

[01:14:12] And I found a YouTube channel called Hold On.

[01:14:19] The Holderness Family Music.

[01:14:24] Jimmy, you're familiar with them?

[01:14:27] Very.

[01:14:27] You love them.

[01:14:29] You see where I'm going with this.

[01:14:32] So back.

[01:14:34] It's the idea of, you come up with the thing like the,

[01:14:39] Oh, this rhymes with that.

[01:14:42] Wouldn't it be funny if we did an entire song with a music video about that?

[01:14:47] Hey, Daddy Holderness, you're so funny.

[01:14:50] You could totally come up with a, a whole ass song about these things because you're

[01:14:59] so funny.

[01:15:00] This is something called Baby Got Class.

[01:15:03] And my God, look at that bus.

[01:15:06] The sunart was so long.

[01:15:09] All day long.

[01:15:10] Give me a snack.

[01:15:11] Give me a snack.

[01:15:12] Give me a snack.

[01:15:14] I can't believe school is five.

[01:15:16] I like big buses.

[01:15:18] I cannot lie.

[01:15:19] It's like big buses.

[01:15:19] It's like big buses.

[01:15:20] But when I big yellow one comes around the bin and picks up our children.

[01:15:24] We get strong because vacation we didn't get anything done.

[01:15:28] Because usually you're in what's front.

[01:15:29] We're with a baby.

[01:15:34] He's unintentionally saying it's the bus driver.

[01:15:37] It's like, oh, summertime, nice kayaks and waters.

[01:15:42] Because we need to always comment.

[01:15:46] Because human brain has no choice but to start filling in.

[01:15:51] The massive gap between us.

[01:15:55] Oh yeah.

[01:15:57] Here's another thing.

[01:15:58] It's called Elton John Nareye's housework.

[01:16:01] Jimmy, you knew this was going.

[01:16:05] This one is based on the very clever idea that sanding runs just standing.

[01:16:16] I'm going to take the ther isn't skill to this.

[01:16:20] It's just crap.

[01:16:22] Yeah, probably she uses stud, but now I got to use a little drive on my head.

[01:16:27] And then the drive is moving out.

[01:16:29] But the pepper on their website.

[01:16:33] On the baby HD is awesome.

[01:16:35] I'm still standing.

[01:16:37] We're up at 200 grit.

[01:16:40] Probably up here.

[01:16:42] The punchline is there are different grades of sanding.

[01:16:50] And just like in this movie, there are moments where it's kind of...

[01:16:57] Kind of clever, but you're not really sure if it's just because you've been beaten in this submission.

[01:17:02] If you had one spot in your house, this is about...

[01:17:08] ...hello, the phrases on the others.

[01:17:11] Some call a chaos.

[01:17:12] We call it family.

[01:17:14] Your friendship is so steady like a blessing to me.

[01:17:17] And I'll give it to them.

[01:17:18] This is kind of the as a concept.

[01:17:20] This is kind of fascinating.

[01:17:21] But do we need a whole fine?

[01:17:23] No.

[01:17:23] We're lots of fun.

[01:17:24] We're lots of fun.

[01:17:25] We're lots of fun.

[01:17:26] We're lots of fun.

[01:17:26] We're lots of fun.

[01:17:26] We're lots of fun.

[01:17:27] We're lots of fun.

[01:17:27] We're...

[01:17:28] You should call me all day.

[01:17:30] Your my cell phone.

[01:17:31] I think it's a good idea.

[01:17:34] There's another good analogy.

[01:17:36] I don't know.

[01:17:36] Audrey, are you familiar with the general...

[01:17:39] ...character is welcome on YouTube?

[01:17:41] Yes.

[01:17:42] In which someone will present a character that they've created.

[01:17:46] And then all of their improv's runs.

[01:17:47] Laugh way too loud at every moment of it.

[01:17:49] Yes.

[01:17:52] Because they want to like it, because they feel like they should,

[01:17:55] because they like the person performing and they like the idea.

[01:17:58] I find that I'm trying to show it.

[01:18:01] Ever seen.

[01:18:03] Audrey will.

[01:18:04] All right.

[01:18:05] With the personal attacks,

[01:18:08] I, that's it.

[01:18:09] I quit.

[01:18:09] I'm out of this show.

[01:18:11] You guys can have a recording.

[01:18:13] Your fun little Disney podcast without me.

[01:18:16] Wait, wait, Audrey, if you leave,

[01:18:18] hold on.

[01:18:19] Audrey, you leave.

[01:18:20] If you leave, it's a contractual obligation for Jeremy to replace you.

[01:18:23] So please say.

[01:18:25] I'm staying.

[01:18:26] How dare you?

[01:18:29] Yeah, characters welcome.

[01:18:30] So I, I remember seeing one character that was like,

[01:18:35] a gumbee kid goes to summer camp and also his mouth is full of pennies or something.

[01:18:41] It was a really strange.

[01:18:43] There are some that are,

[01:18:44] they're funny.

[01:18:45] Like there's one,

[01:18:46] some are better than others.

[01:18:47] Yeah, it's I think it's two,

[01:18:49] one there's one that's like two toddlers in a man suit.

[01:18:52] That's the one.

[01:18:53] And that's funny.

[01:18:55] That's funny.

[01:18:55] But then like every time every time I watch one of these,

[01:18:58] I just, and I think it's because I know what,

[01:19:03] I know how sad it can be to be an improv person.

[01:19:06] I don't mean that it is an attack at all.

[01:19:08] But like that thing where it's just like,

[01:19:10] I'm going to really laugh because I know how hard this person is working.

[01:19:14] Yeah, I'll tell you about that.

[01:19:16] Yeah, but and so this is boomer parent tells a funny story.

[01:19:23] And you can tell that this is filled with this person's friends.

[01:19:38] You know what?

[01:19:39] This is a really funny story.

[01:19:40] Okay, so one time when we could get,

[01:19:42] look, you get another story.

[01:19:50] Oh, so many got to know about the ramp up.

[01:19:52] It's as much as you love.

[01:19:55] It's like,

[01:19:56] I love the key love in the case.

[01:19:59] But you hate it us.

[01:20:02] Oh my god, I hate it.

[01:20:03] I hate it.

[01:20:04] I hate it because the most,

[01:20:04] the little list, the night was a girl and I had,

[01:20:07] what do you put a speech in heaven?

[01:20:09] Back then,

[01:20:10] it was so good.

[01:20:12] I don't know why you two aren't laughing.

[01:20:14] Can you hear the others?

[01:20:15] I don't know her.

[01:20:16] It's been a long time.

[01:20:17] I'm so startled.

[01:20:19] So, anyway,

[01:20:20] not like seeing a dream or something.

[01:20:22] But still.

[01:20:24] That's right.

[01:20:25] One night comes home and he is

[01:20:28] roaring,

[01:20:29] and he used to come home like that all the time.

[01:20:31] Right.

[01:20:34] But it's painful.

[01:20:35] Oh, not honey.

[01:20:36] Grandpa wasn't an alcoholic.

[01:20:38] I can't believe he had an inferior there.

[01:20:40] That's you.

[01:20:41] I can't believe he had an alcoholic.

[01:20:44] I can't believe he had an alcoholic.

[01:20:44] I'm in granted if she had the candle light glow on her face,

[01:20:50] it would have been a lot better.

[01:20:50] Higher quality.

[01:20:52] But yeah.

[01:20:52] And if I understood the nuance of what she was talking about,

[01:20:55] if I knew her uncle,

[01:20:57] if you knew her person would have been

[01:20:58] wronged before.

[01:20:59] Yeah, if you

[01:21:00] graduated from level two and three improv class,

[01:21:05] and through this person,

[01:21:06] you would probably appreciate the effort that's being put in.

[01:21:11] All right.

[01:21:12] My name is Jimmy,

[01:21:15] Audrey and Dan.

[01:21:16] Feel free to leave a review, remember we liked it.

[01:21:22] Hey, I just booked a trip, by the way.

[01:21:23] Concey years,

[01:21:24] say, Disney Vacations Matter.

[01:21:27] We can play in your trip to Disney Parks.

[01:21:28] You can ride a haunted mansion.

[01:21:30] You could ride a haunted mansion holiday.

[01:21:33] You could ride Phantom Manor at Disneyland Paris.

[01:21:37] You could ride a haunted mansion in Japan,

[01:21:40] which is in fantasy land, by the way.

[01:21:42] In Japan, Audrey, you'd appreciate that.

[01:21:46] You could ride this movie better.

[01:21:48] You could ride what's the one mystic manor in Hong Kong?

[01:21:53] We could help you book all those.

[01:21:55] I booked a trip to Disneyland for the Yuribay family

[01:21:58] from Mexico City.

[01:22:00] They are listeners, they're fans,

[01:22:03] and they are going in October.

[01:22:05] During Halloween time, just what you can do at Disneyland.

[01:22:08] You could ride the most Halloween ride ever on the mansion holiday.

[01:22:13] Because Halloween is a haunted house.

[01:22:14] Anyway, Yuribay family, thank you for booking, have a great time.

[01:22:18] That's eight, five, six hour years.

[01:22:21] And there's other shows on the network

[01:22:22] and I know you started, but I'm talking.

[01:22:25] So there's years up, there's a bin depth,

[01:22:26] a bath in the podcast about Star Wars.

[01:22:29] There's the podcast about the Marvel,

[01:22:32] which is the marvelous podcast.

[01:22:37] There it is.

[01:22:40] It is puny pod, it's the name of that one.

[01:22:43] And they talk about Marvel movies in order for least.

[01:22:47] And there's this one, and there's this supreme resort.

[01:22:49] We're going to talk about the resorts.

[01:22:52] We're going to talk about resort hotels,

[01:22:54] which is better.

[01:22:55] Disneyland resort hotels.

[01:22:57] There's 58 of those if you think about good neighborhood

[01:23:00] hotels or it is new world.

[01:23:02] We're going to explore those by category,

[01:23:05] coming up in the multiple next episodes.

[01:23:08] Scripting the vault, we're going to see you again this fall

[01:23:11] with the Tinkerverse.

[01:23:13] We're going to figure out how to tackle that.

[01:23:16] And probably some listener of the host favorites.

[01:23:19] Another delightful Christmas film that I'll pick out.

[01:23:23] I'm, I guess maybe not.

[01:23:24] I don't know after I picked up the Halloween episode,

[01:23:26] I'm not sure.

[01:23:28] But I'm getting more suggestions.

[01:23:31] And that's it everybody.

[01:23:34] Oh man.

[01:23:34] Well, until next time.

[01:23:35] Until next time.

[01:23:37] Recony.

[01:23:39] And everyone.

[01:23:41] Re-wast.

[01:24:07] Oh, what's up?

[01:24:07] What's up?

[01:24:08] What's up?

[01:24:09] What's up?

[01:24:10] What's up?

[01:24:20] What's up?

[01:24:46] Hi, I was there.

[01:24:48] Welcome.

[01:24:49] Oh, no, keep going.

[01:24:51] Do you want to add one lesson?

[01:24:53] Well, welcome to the Easter egg.

[01:24:57] I thought we were doing hope and hunt.

[01:24:59] I don't know what that was in the episode.

[01:25:05] But if you would like to take a moment to sit back, relax.

[01:25:12] Think about atmospheric things, like clouds.

[01:25:18] Little bunny.

[01:25:22] And think about how interesting.

[01:25:28] For some reason ethnic groups, relax everybody.

[01:25:35] And everything wrong with that.

[01:25:39] It just means everything happened over the experience.

[01:25:47] And everything is the matter.

[01:25:57] And everything is the matter.

[01:25:57] That's a great thing.

[01:25:59] And that was the biggest one.

[01:26:04] Bates not know.

[01:26:06] Bates stop.

[01:26:07] Oh, sorry.

[01:26:08] I didn't realize anything else.

[01:26:10] It's like I don't mind this.

[01:26:12] It's sleeping.

[01:26:14] Oh, that's a job.

[01:26:15] I think the dogs will make that.

[01:26:17] I don't know how.

[01:26:18] We got to put them in the bed.

[01:26:20] I can't do it.

[01:26:21] I don't need it.

[01:26:24] I can't even grab it.

[01:26:26] I'm gonna be like, you might be.

[01:26:31] She's like, that's secret jelly, but more than you made earlier.

[01:26:34] It's like...

[01:26:37] What planet are we on right now?

[01:26:39] I don't know.

[01:26:43] Alright.

[01:26:46] And that was the next trick.

[01:26:47] Thank you for listening.

[01:26:48] Goodbye.
