[00:00:00] Welcome to Puny Pod, the podcast who is so screwed now! Welcome to Puny Pod, everyone. We are the Marvel Fandom Podcast where we rewatch the MCU in release order and over on our monthly Bugle episodes, we cover Marvel news. My name is Ryan and my co-host, who is a man, a handsome, muscular man, is David. David, how are we doing this morning?

[00:00:50] I wasn't ready for that quote, but I'm doing pretty well. Thank you. By the way, I appreciate that. I've been working out. I got a both ways.

[00:00:57] Clarence had a baby with an angel.

[00:01:00] Exactly. I know, you throw around weights, you decide to go to the Anaheim Convention Center one week too late.

[00:01:07] Yeah, it would have been a Zoom the week before, but yes.

[00:01:11] You went to D24, okay.

[00:01:12] I am doing pretty well. How are you?

[00:01:15] I am doing pretty well. And if you guys didn't pick it up, there is a third voice.

[00:01:21] We have a third voice. We have a guest.

[00:01:23] Although, he's less of a guest, more of a long-term, titan-killing booty call.

[00:01:29] We have Eric!

[00:01:30] Wow. I like that.

[00:01:33] Just breaking protocol left and right.

[00:01:35] Yes.

[00:01:36] Not introduced. Still talking.

[00:01:39] Yes. You all probably know Eric from one of the six dozen podcasts that he does.

[00:01:47] Eric, do you want to reintroduce yourself to our listeners for those who didn't catch our other Avengers episodes that you were totally on?

[00:01:54] I was only on the one, thank you.

[00:01:57] Only on the one.

[00:02:00] Just saying. Wasn't invited to the second one. It's okay. It's okay.

[00:02:03] In our hearts, though, the whole time.

[00:02:05] Yeah. I listened to that episode and I wept. I had to pull over my car.

[00:02:10] I know. It's a pretty crappy movie, but I'm with you.

[00:02:15] Eric, how are you?

[00:02:15] No, it wasn't. You could have heard that from me, that I liked it.

[00:02:19] We could go back and record it. We've got all the notes.

[00:02:22] Great. Let's do it.

[00:02:24] Eric, how are you?

[00:02:25] Yeah, I'm Eric. I do podcasting and I do The Hub Crawl, which is a roundtable Disney podcast on a completely different network.

[00:02:36] It's a lot of fun.

[00:02:38] We invite guests, including these two gentlemen.

[00:02:40] They've been on the show.

[00:02:43] So we have a lot of fun.

[00:02:45] And I do The Supreme Resort, which is a show that compares coast-to-coast Disney parks, Walt Disney World and Disneyland.

[00:02:55] We try to leave the international parks out of it because they'd obviously win.

[00:03:01] And, you know, I'm on that Ears Up thing, which is the name that is on the network.

[00:03:05] It's not the main show.

[00:03:06] It's not.

[00:03:07] This is the main show.

[00:03:09] I'm on that one, too.

[00:03:11] And I do a little show called Bowie-splaining with a guy who knows about Bowie because I don't.

[00:03:18] So check out Bowie-splaining if you want to hear me not knowing what's going on and someone telling me what's going on.

[00:03:26] It's a unique experience for me.

[00:03:28] And all about pink monkey lizards.

[00:03:31] Yeah.

[00:03:34] Well, thank monkey bird.

[00:03:36] Pink monkey bird.

[00:03:37] That's right.

[00:03:38] That's right.

[00:03:38] Monkey lizards is a different thing.

[00:03:41] Yes.

[00:03:43] Monkey lizards is our Bantha boys.

[00:03:48] But awesome.

[00:03:49] Well, thank you, Eric, for joining us here.

[00:03:52] For those who haven't listened to our Avengers episode, I think on air we promised that Eric was going to be in every Avengers episode.

[00:04:00] Yeah.

[00:04:01] And then I genuinely forgot to invite him to Age of Ultron.

[00:04:07] Sounds familiar.

[00:04:09] Yeah.

[00:04:09] Hey, while I'm correcting you on things, last episodes, I don't know what you can say about a three-part episode that took me many hours to listen to.

[00:04:21] Extravaganza.

[00:04:22] Yeah.

[00:04:24] There was some discussion about, this is Black Panther for those of you who just joined us today.

[00:04:33] There was some discussion about the motivation of the team.

[00:04:37] Oh, gosh.

[00:04:37] Why did I open my mouth?

[00:04:39] Now I'm forgetting my point that I had prepared for this.

[00:04:42] Is this a live past show correction?

[00:04:44] It's a live past show correction.

[00:04:47] You were discussing the motivation of the...

[00:04:50] Oh, yeah.

[00:04:51] Here we go.

[00:04:51] Of the...

[00:04:53] Of the...

[00:04:54] You know, why was Eric left behind and...

[00:04:58] Oh, yes.

[00:04:59] To hide the secret, basically.

[00:05:01] And you were discussing the motivations of everything.

[00:05:04] I think, really, I would imagine they left the body of his father there, right?

[00:05:13] Like, so he was killed in maybe a gang thing is what they were going for, and his kid had to be left, because if they took everybody, then it would just be a, where did this whole family go?

[00:05:26] Yeah.

[00:05:27] It would raise too many questions.

[00:05:28] That's my interpretation of the situation.

[00:05:31] That's fair.

[00:05:31] Kind of leaving the crime scene...

[00:05:34] I mean, somehow an Oakland gang got a hold of Panther Claus, but...

[00:05:39] Right.

[00:05:40] Yeah, they stabbed him in the chest with a lot of things.

[00:05:43] As an Oakland resident and a gang member, I will say that the Panther Claus is our primary weapon.

[00:05:51] Oh, wow.

[00:05:52] Yeah, we're not using guns.

[00:05:53] It's just like a tribute to the Black Panther organization.

[00:05:57] You were inspired by the movie.

[00:05:58] This is a new gang.

[00:06:00] Exactly.

[00:06:01] Yeah.

[00:06:01] Okay.

[00:06:02] Well, we appreciate that, because we pride ourselves on accuracy.

[00:06:07] So, we definitely appreciate that.

[00:06:10] And listeners, if you have any past show corrections, send them in, because we do want to be accurate.

[00:06:17] We do want to make sure that we're correct with what we say.

[00:06:22] So, feel free.

[00:06:23] Let us know about those past show corrections.

[00:06:26] Maybe we'll put, like, saga corrections in the saga episode we're going to do next February or whatever.

[00:06:34] But, yeah.

[00:06:35] Reach out to us.

[00:06:36] It's punypod at earsup-podcast.com is our email.

[00:06:40] Or you can find us.

[00:06:42] We're in the Ears Up Discord as well, if you have anything where you're listening and you're screaming at your radio because we're wrong.

[00:06:49] I know I do that to half the podcasts I listen to.

[00:06:52] It's fun to publicly assault them.

[00:06:55] Yes.

[00:06:55] Yeah.

[00:06:55] Yeah.

[00:06:56] Yeah.

[00:06:56] So, because all these episodes are going to the Library of Congress, it sounds like we should probably re-record the whole thing for accuracy.

[00:07:03] Got it.

[00:07:05] Yeah.

[00:07:05] All 12 hours.

[00:07:09] I love you, Brian, but I'm not doing four hours of Black Panther again.

[00:07:15] Oh, man.

[00:07:16] Edit that baby in.

[00:07:18] All right.

[00:07:19] Well, we are not here to talk about Black Panther for four hours.

[00:07:23] Instead, we are here to talk about Avengers Infinity War for four hours.

[00:07:28] No, hopefully.

[00:07:29] Not for four hours.

[00:07:31] Hopefully this one goes a little faster.

[00:07:33] There is a lot to this movie.

[00:07:35] Obviously, this is the culmination of ten years of Marvel.

[00:07:40] And so, there's a lot.

[00:07:41] You know most of these characters, right?

[00:07:44] There's a lot here.

[00:07:45] We've spent so much time with these characters.

[00:07:49] And, David, I'm going to pass it over to you to give us our production details.

[00:07:56] Absolutely.

[00:07:58] The movie Avengers Infinity War came out April 27, 2018.

[00:08:04] It is technically the third film in the Avengers series.

[00:08:08] Many people feel like it's unofficial fourth after Civil War.

[00:08:13] And represents a milestone celebration.

[00:08:16] I think, as you mentioned, it's the culmination of the past ten years of stories.

[00:08:21] And so, the Marvel logo at the beginning of the film shows a ten instead of an I.O. in the word studios.

[00:08:27] It was originally set to be released May 2018.

[00:08:31] But they bumped it up to a week to coincide with the international release.

[00:08:35] Which makes sense.

[00:08:35] So, there's nothing to get spoiled.

[00:08:37] 2018 is the 55th anniversary of the first appearance of Iron Man, Doctor Strange, and the Avengers team as a whole.

[00:08:44] And it's the 10th anniversary of the first appearance of the modern Guardians of the Galaxy in the comic books.

[00:08:50] Phase 3.

[00:08:51] Seventh installment.

[00:08:52] We are on movie number 19.

[00:08:55] Runtime.

[00:08:56] Two hours.

[00:08:57] Twenty-nine minutes.

[00:09:00] So, in October 2014, four years before, after Guardians, Marvel Studios announced a two-part sequel to Avengers Age of Ultron titled Avengers Infinity War 4 Part 1.

[00:09:11] Which was scheduled for May 2018.

[00:09:14] And Part 2, May 3rd, 2019.

[00:09:17] In April 2015, before the Avengers Age of Ultron came out, the Russos, Anthony and Joe Russo, were hired as directors for the film.

[00:09:26] And a month later, Marcus and McFeely signed on to write the screenplays for both parts of the film.

[00:09:32] Their plan was to film both parts of Infinity War back-to-back.

[00:09:36] Kevin Feige said that they were titled as two parts of a single film because of the shared elements.

[00:09:41] But then he felt that they were two distinct projects entirely.

[00:09:45] So, not one story split across two films.

[00:09:49] So, they decided to retitle them into two separate films.

[00:09:52] And they simply shorted this title to Avengers Infinity War.

[00:09:56] Principal photography began January 23, 2017 and concluded on July 14th.

[00:10:03] As we talked about before, it actually coincided with filming and production that was going on simultaneously for Thor Ragnarok and Black Panther.

[00:10:12] One of the fun things about this film is none of the cast members were allowed to read the entire script.

[00:10:18] So, as to avoid accidental spoilers, as Tom Holland and Mark Ruffalo often do.

[00:10:23] And so, when you see the movie, you can kind of tell.

[00:10:27] So, like Tom Holland, it was completely kept in the dark who his opponent was during the first fight scene on the Q ship.

[00:10:36] And he said he looks genuinely confused a lot of times because he didn't tell him what was happening in order to get a genuine reaction.

[00:10:43] Don Cheadle claimed not to know what the plot was.

[00:10:46] Elizabeth Olsen claimed that the cast that was filming the Battle of Wakanda where she's watching over Vision,

[00:10:54] she said that they were only told what was the ending on the van ride over to the shoot the scene.

[00:10:59] And she said there's a shot of her looking out on Wakanda as the battle's going on.

[00:11:04] And she dislikes it so much because her reaction, she didn't know what was happening.

[00:11:08] And so, the reaction of Thanos' army tunneling in and killing people, she would have reacted with a bunch of different reactions.

[00:11:16] She's just that kind of stone face.

[00:11:19] Chadwick Boseman didn't realize his character died at the end of the movie.

[00:11:22] Benedict Cumberbatch was one of the only cast members allowed to read the entire script.

[00:11:27] So, financials for the movie, production budget $321 million, opening weekend $258 million.

[00:11:37] True.

[00:11:38] Domestic gross, $679 million.

[00:11:41] Worldwide gross, $2.05 billion with a B.

[00:11:46] Worldwide gross, it was number one in 2018, right ahead of Black Panther and Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom,

[00:11:52] Incredibles 2 and Aquaman.

[00:11:54] Somehow I made it in there.

[00:11:56] And it ranks the number two movie of all time behind Endgame and ahead of Spider-Man No Way Home.

[00:12:03] It is the first MCU and superhero movie to gross over $2 million.

[00:12:07] And when I wrote these notes, it was number six all-time worldwide gross behind Star Wars Episode 7 and ahead of Spider-Man No Way Home.

[00:12:18] Critics loved it.

[00:12:19] Audience loved it.

[00:12:20] 85% critics rating.

[00:12:22] 92% audience rating.

[00:12:25] There were a few dissenters, including from Amazon reviewer, writing guy, who wrote, quote,

[00:12:31] Crap storytelling augmented by immense special effects.

[00:12:35] A giant turd.

[00:12:37] Now I need a time stone to get those two hours of my life back.

[00:12:41] Two and a half, please, sir.

[00:12:43] Come on, writing guy.

[00:12:44] Get your facts together.

[00:12:46] Directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo.

[00:12:49] They also did The Winter Soldier and Civil War.

[00:12:54] They also, as mentioned before, they produced and directed Arrested Development and Community.

[00:12:59] And the Russos were announced to be directing Avengers Doomsday and Avengers Secret War.

[00:13:07] Screenplay, Christopher Marcus, Stephen McFeely.

[00:13:10] They wrote all three Captain America films, Thor Dark World, and also wrote Chronicles of Narnia franchise.

[00:13:18] And they are the highest grossing screenwriters of all time in terms of worldwide gross, having written movies which have totaled $95.8 billion.

[00:13:28] They will also be writing Avengers Doomsday and Avengers Secret War.

[00:13:34] The cast.

[00:13:35] So Infinity War has 143 actors credited in its cast.

[00:13:43] So in alphabetical order, Marisha Abney as Dormilaje.

[00:13:49] G. Alexander as Kingsguard.

[00:13:50] I'm just kidding.

[00:13:51] I'm just kidding.

[00:13:53] I'm just kidding.

[00:13:54] It's the principal same set of characters we've seen from the beginning.

[00:14:02] You know, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Ben Cumberbatch.

[00:14:06] The two many to name.

[00:14:09] The five.

[00:14:12] There are a handful of new actors.

[00:14:14] Principally the actors who did the voice acting in some, in case, the motion cap for The Black Order.

[00:14:21] So you have Tom Vaughn Lawler as Ebony Maw.

[00:14:24] Carrie Coon as Proxima Midnight.

[00:14:26] Terry Notary as Call Obsidian.

[00:14:28] And Michael James Shaw as Corvus Glaive.

[00:14:30] You also have Peter Dinklage as Etri the Dwarf.

[00:14:35] And then you have a recast.

[00:14:37] You have Ross Marquand voicing the Red Skull slash the Stonekeeper.

[00:14:43] But otherwise, it's this same group.

[00:14:45] Same principal cast.

[00:14:48] The Russos did think about bringing in Captain Marvel.

[00:14:52] But deferred her for her movie.

[00:14:54] Get a little hint at the end.

[00:14:55] But the cast includes five Academy Award winners.

[00:15:01] Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Benicio Del Toro, William Hurt, who I always forget about, Kenneth Branagh.

[00:15:08] And then a bunch of other nominees.

[00:15:10] And three Academy Award winners who were not in the film.

[00:15:13] Brie Larson, Daniel Kaluuya, and Lupita Nyong'o.

[00:15:17] So a pretty stellar cast.

[00:15:22] And we'll kind of get into the ending of the movie.

[00:15:25] But one of the things we wanted to talk about were the stones.

[00:15:32] Usually we do have a segment where we could talk about the comics.

[00:15:36] Thought that because the Infinity Stones are so important to the movie.

[00:15:43] They're essentially characters.

[00:15:44] Yeah.

[00:15:46] I mean, I would say that the reality stone has more screen time than like Wong, to be honest.

[00:15:54] So we're going to talk real quick about the stones.

[00:15:56] We're not going to spend too much time on it.

[00:15:58] But just to kind of recap where we are.

[00:15:59] So the very first stone we see in any of the Avengers movie is the space stone.

[00:16:05] The blue space stone.

[00:16:06] So in the first Avenger, Captain America 1942, the Red Skull obtains the Tesseract, which holds the space stone in order to develop weapons of mass destruction.

[00:16:16] During the fight between Cap and Red Skull, the machine that houses the Tesseract was damaged.

[00:16:22] If you remember, Schmidt tries to pick it up.

[00:16:25] That doesn't go well.

[00:16:26] Opens a wormhole into space.

[00:16:27] He gets sucked into it.

[00:16:28] Drops the cube.

[00:16:29] Goes to the floor.

[00:16:31] Ends up falling into the ocean.

[00:16:33] And Howard Stark finds it and recovers it from the ocean floor for the U.S. government.

[00:16:38] In 95, in Captain Marvel, which we'll see, it's being researched by Project Pegasus.

[00:16:44] In 2012, Loki steals the Tesseract from S.H.I.E.L.D. to open a portal for the Chitauri army to invade Earth, but is defeated by the Avengers.

[00:16:55] Thor takes the Tesseract to Asgard.

[00:16:56] Then in Thor Ragnarok, Thor sends Loki to open the vault to summon the fire demon Surtur.

[00:17:02] While there, Loki takes the opportunity to steal the Tesseract.

[00:17:06] And so when this movie begins, the Infinity Stone is still in Loki's possession.

[00:17:14] Yeah, and just to jump in with some kind of comic book background, I'm going to kind of do this for each of the stones.

[00:17:21] So the Space Stone was first introduced in Avengers Annual No. 7, August 1977, written and drawn by Jim Starlin.

[00:17:34] It was actually green in the comic books at that time.

[00:17:36] Now, all of these stones have changed in the modern MCU.

[00:17:40] Actually, the stones got really weird in the modern MCU.

[00:17:44] They became sentient and they became people and all kinds of stuff.

[00:17:47] But they have changed their color coding to match the MCU.

[00:17:52] So their original appearances, which is what I'll talk about here, were different than the colors that they used in the MCU.

[00:18:01] So in the comics, Space Stone's Green.

[00:18:05] At one point, it was hidden in Area 51 by Tony Stark.

[00:18:11] It gives the user powers of teleportation, speed, gravity manipulation, black hole creation.

[00:18:19] Basically, the ability to manipulate all.

[00:18:23] To manipulate space in any sort of way, including being in multiple places all at the same time.

[00:18:32] Now, I do want to note the container for the Space Stone that we got in the MCU.

[00:18:37] The Tesseract, as we call it in the MCU, is based on a cosmic cube, which was introduced in Tales of Suspense, number 79, April 1966.

[00:18:50] Stan Lee, Jack Kirby.

[00:18:57] And in the comics, cosmic cubes are more like wish boxes, right?

[00:19:02] They can kind of grant wishes.

[00:19:05] They alter reality to match whatever the bearer's wishes are.

[00:19:11] So a little bit different, not quite just a container for a teleportation stone or anything like that.

[00:19:19] But kind of a little different thing.

[00:19:23] The next stone, which appears also in the Avengers in 2012, is the Mind Stone.

[00:19:28] It's yellow.

[00:19:30] Thanos gives Loki a scepter bearing the Mind Stone, which he uses to control the minds of Dr. Eric Selvig and Hawkeye.

[00:19:37] And after he is defeated in the Battle of New York, S.H.I.E.L.D. takes possession of the scepter.

[00:19:43] Next shows up Avengers Age of Ultron 2015.

[00:19:49] The scepter belonging to the Mind Stone is in the possession of Baron Wolfgang von Strucker, a Hydra operative,

[00:19:55] who's also been using the energy from the Mind Stone to power advanced weaponry.

[00:20:00] I'm seeing a theme here.

[00:20:01] After the Avengers fight with Hydra and the Enhanced Twins, we'll not call them mutants,

[00:20:07] Tony recovers a scepter and studies it with Banner Jarvis.

[00:20:09] You can do that now that they own Fox.

[00:20:10] Okay, never mind.

[00:20:11] Okay, so it's Hydra and the mutants.

[00:20:14] Recover the scepter.

[00:20:16] Ultron then steals the scepter, embeds the Mind Stone in the humanoid body, which Ultron intends to use.

[00:20:22] They steal the body, upload the Jarvis AI, and boom, we have Vision.

[00:20:26] And so at the start of this movie, the Mind Stone is embedded in Vision's forehead and is located on Earth.

[00:20:35] Yes.

[00:20:36] And in the comics, the Mind Stone was introduced in Captain Marvel number 41, August of 1975.

[00:20:46] Steve Englehart wrote that one.

[00:20:48] Al Milgram drew it.

[00:20:51] And then it was red, actually, in its original appearance in the comics.

[00:20:56] Largely, the Mind Stone is tied in with the Kree.

[00:20:59] It spends a lot of time with the Kree, particularly with their, like, supreme intelligence, their big AI.

[00:21:07] Later in the comics, it would actually come to Earth and be closely tied with Professor X.

[00:21:12] He would be its kind of guardian.

[00:21:17] It gives its owner telepathy, telekinesis, and it augments any mental powers they already have.

[00:21:25] At its absolute peak, it can link all minds in the universe when it's used in conjunction with the other stones.

[00:21:34] So the other stones kind of empower it, and it can actually link up every mind in the universe to, you know, broadcast a message or, you know, have a hive mind thought.

[00:21:46] Again, first appears in the 70s.

[00:21:49] A lot of really good drugs in the 70s.

[00:21:51] Anyway, the reality stone, the red reality stone, we first see it in Thor Dark World, 2013.

[00:21:58] So the dark elf, Malekith, wants to return the universe back to darkness and uses a strange weapon known as the Aether.

[00:22:06] Odin back then said, quote, while the other relics appear as stones, the Aether is fluid and ever-changing.

[00:22:13] Thor defeats Malekith and then decides to give the Aether slash reality stone to the collector on nowhere for safekeeping, thinking it's better not to have two in the same spot.

[00:22:24] So, because they already had the space stone.

[00:22:28] And so at the beginning of this film, it is safely held by the collector on nowhere.

[00:22:37] Or will be for a little while.

[00:22:40] Over in the comics, the reality stone also started off in Avengers Annual No. 7, August of 1977, Jim Starlin.

[00:22:52] It wasn't called the Reality Gem until 1990.

[00:22:56] But we, a lot of, you know, comic history is kind of like that where it doesn't get its name until later on.

[00:23:05] It was orange in the comics, so we actually stayed fairly close.

[00:23:10] But it, yeah.

[00:23:13] Just a little bit more yellow mixed into its color way.

[00:23:19] It does give the user the ability to alter reality, which means that user can break the laws of logic or laws of physics.

[00:23:29] It's been used to resurrect the dead.

[00:23:32] It can also be used to create alternate realities.

[00:23:35] At its peak, it can also tap into the multiverse and allow the user to communicate with other holders of the Reality Stone in other universes.

[00:23:50] As well as peer into other universes.

[00:23:53] I should also note here that the Aether is actually a creation of the MCU.

[00:23:58] It's not, it's not, the Reality Stone is not the Aether as such in the comic books.

[00:24:09] And there really isn't an Aether in the comic books.

[00:24:12] So, that was kind of a, I think this is something that we like to put really nice rose-colored glasses on and think that there was Feige's master plan this whole time.

[00:24:29] But I think this is one of those places where, yeah, maybe we just took something we saw and we decided to make it something else.

[00:24:37] Where do we get a Reality Stone and a Space Stone?

[00:24:39] Oh, wait, there are glowy things in other movies.

[00:24:42] Exactly. There's this other thing over here.

[00:24:44] Yeah, that's it.

[00:24:45] We don't need to make another movie. We did it.

[00:24:46] Yeah, we did it.

[00:24:47] By the way, Ryan, it just occurred to me that we need to start our own podcast that explains Infinity Stones one by one.

[00:24:54] And we're going to call it Glowy Splaining.

[00:24:56] Anyway, next up.

[00:24:58] The purple power stone we see in Guardians of the Galaxy 2014.

[00:25:05] Star-Lord locates an orb which contains the power stone of Morag.

[00:25:09] Tries to sell it.

[00:25:10] Nebula retrieves the power stone after destroying Gamora's ship.

[00:25:14] After defeating Ronin, who was powered by the power stone temporarily for a little bit, the power stone was turned over to the Nova Corps, who kept it locked up in a vault on Xandar.

[00:25:25] And at the beginning of the movie, it is, again, safeguarded by the Nova Corps on Xandar.

[00:26:01] Sure.

[00:26:02] The power stone was yellow in the comics.

[00:26:06] So, again, big change here.

[00:26:10] The story beat that I noted down for it here is it was once mistaken as a jelly bean by Drax, and he just swallowed it.

[00:26:20] He just ate the power stone.

[00:26:24] It does give the wielder access to all power and energy that has ever existed or will ever exist.

[00:26:35] So, basically, all power can be channeled through this stone.

[00:26:39] And it also empowers the other stones, right?

[00:26:42] So, the power stone really largely kind of acts as kind of that auxiliary player.

[00:26:51] Yeah.

[00:26:52] Okay.

[00:26:53] I like to think that there are comic nerds who are watching the movie and just screaming at the screen the whole time.

[00:27:01] You're supposed to be yellow.

[00:27:02] What are you doing?

[00:27:03] Like, just freaking out.

[00:27:05] Like, those are the wrong colors.

[00:27:07] Anyway, Drax is supposed to be green, too.

[00:27:10] You're ruining my childhood.

[00:27:12] I dived into the depths of Reddit, and they exist.

[00:27:15] Bill Matlow is rolling over in his grave.

[00:27:19] Anyway, Time Stone, green.

[00:27:21] Doctor Strange in 2017, we see it.

[00:27:23] He takes custody of the Eye of Agamotto, which is a time-shifting pendant, which contains the green Mind Stone in it.

[00:27:32] He uses it to reverse the destruction of the Hong Kong Sanctum and prevents the dark dimension from assimilating on Earth.

[00:27:38] So, at the beginning of Infinity War, it is around his neck in the Eye of Agamotto, which contains the time stone, and he is on Earth.

[00:27:51] And for its first appearance, Marvel team up number 55 December 1976.

[00:27:57] Same issue as the aforementioned Power Stone.

[00:28:04] It was blue, so the time stone was blue in the comics.

[00:28:09] It never really spent that much time with Doctor Strange in the comics, which is really interesting.

[00:28:14] I think Doctor Strange was assigned to it when the Illuminati were trying to protect the stones and separate the stones.

[00:28:21] But, you know, it's not so intrinsically tied with Doctor Strange like it is here in the movies.

[00:28:30] It does give the wielder the power of time manipulation, stop, rewind, alter age, create loops, that sort of stuff.

[00:28:39] Basically what we see in the movies.

[00:28:41] At its peak, when it's empowered by all the other stones, it actually allows the user to exist in all points in time simultaneously.

[00:28:50] Both past, present, and future.

[00:28:52] Just, they are, they can be everywhere.

[00:28:56] Which I kind of missed actually on the Space Stone.

[00:28:58] Space Stone does something similar with space, right?

[00:29:00] So, basically, once you have all the stones, you can be everywhere at all times.

[00:29:06] All at once.

[00:29:08] The last stone is the Soul Stone.

[00:29:12] We do not see it until this movie.

[00:29:13] It is orange in the movie.

[00:29:15] I'm sure Ryan will ruin it by telling us it's a different color in the comic books.

[00:29:20] But in Avengers Infinity War 2018, Soul Stone is located on Vormir.

[00:29:26] Secret that's only known to Gamora, which she discloses to Thanos in this movie.

[00:29:31] So, it is safeguarded by the Stone Keeper slash Red Skull on Vormir at the beginning of this film.

[00:29:41] Yeah.

[00:29:42] And in the comic books, this is actually, the Soul Stone is actually the very first Infinity Stone we get.

[00:29:48] And actually, all of the Infinity Stones were known as Soul Gems originally.

[00:29:53] They were all kind of, their backs, the generally accepted backstory is a very old being in the very original universe, committed suicide, and his soul split up into these six stones.

[00:30:09] Dark.

[00:30:10] Yeah.

[00:30:11] Yeah.

[00:30:11] Real dark and real, real violent.

[00:30:14] But, this is Marvel premiere number one, November 1971.

[00:30:19] Roy Thomas and Gil Kane teamed up to get this one made.

[00:30:25] Again, first Infinity Stone to appear in the comics was the Soul Stone.

[00:30:30] It was purple.

[00:30:31] You're right, David.

[00:30:32] I crushed your hopes and dreams of an orange Soul Stone.

[00:30:35] I'm sorry.

[00:30:37] The Soul Stone was given to Adam Warlock by the High Evolutionary.

[00:30:42] For those who are caught up on modern day MCU, those names might sound familiar.

[00:30:47] It's very, very, very tied in with Adam Warlock.

[00:30:51] He's tied into Infinity stuff in general, but especially to the Soul Stone.

[00:30:58] The Soul Stone is sentient, and it desires to collect souls.

[00:31:03] It holds within it the soul world, where it traps the souls that it takes, which we actually get to see a little bit of this in the movie.

[00:31:13] There's a lot of, it's not really ever confirmed, but it's heavily alluded to that that's where, like, Gamora, baby Gamora is, in that kind of orange-hued world where she talks with Thanos.

[00:31:28] The wielder of the Soul Stone can peer into souls to get, like, ultimate truths from people.

[00:31:35] It can cause planet-wide death or life, so it can bring back a whole planet from death, or it can kill a whole planet.

[00:31:44] It can revert beings to their natural state.

[00:31:47] That's actually how Adam Warlock originally used it, was to remove curses from a race of people.

[00:31:55] It can control any and all life, and it protects its user from all soul-based attacks.

[00:32:04] So, think, like, in Doctor Strange, when they're on the astral plane and they're fighting, their souls are fighting, you know, if he had the Soul Stone, he'd be impervious to that kind of attack.

[00:32:18] I'm not gonna lie.

[00:32:20] Of all the gems, that seems like the lamest one.

[00:32:23] That's the one I would want at least.

[00:32:24] Like, capturing souls.

[00:32:26] Like, give me the time stone, so if I'm, like, late to a Zoom call, I can just rewind it a bit.

[00:32:30] But, like, Soul Stone, like, what?

[00:32:33] Yeah, Soul Stone, it also, I mean, it's interesting because I think it's probably the most developed stone in the comics, I would say.

[00:32:42] It also, it has, like, properties, like, it can hold multiverses within the soul world and all kinds of weird stuff like that.

[00:32:50] But, yeah, it's definitely interesting, and I think it's, because it was the first and everything else was named after it,

[00:32:59] it kind of picks up some properties from other people as it kind of developed.

[00:33:04] If you're telling me it's a storage device and I can, like, get my garage together and I can, like, put a bunch of junk in it, then great.

[00:33:10] But if not, then, like, eh, I don't need that.

[00:33:13] Yeah, that would come in handy.

[00:33:14] That'd be so handy.

[00:33:15] Right?

[00:33:15] With the storage stone.

[00:33:17] Come on now.

[00:33:17] Like, just put a bunch of stuff in there.

[00:33:19] Yeah, it's kind of the space stone, isn't it?

[00:33:21] Just, you know.

[00:33:22] Yeah.

[00:33:22] Yeah, yeah.

[00:33:23] Yeah.

[00:33:23] Create a pocket, a little pocket space, yeah.

[00:33:26] And then in the last, not really stone, but it's the Infinity Gauntlet, obviously appears in this movie.

[00:33:33] We had seen it in prior movies.

[00:33:35] We'd seen one in Thor Ragnarok.

[00:33:38] We had seen one at the end of, was it where he, where Thanos says, I'll do it myself.

[00:33:46] And so, when we start the movie, it is, he has one on, he has a version on his hand.

[00:33:51] I don't think it's the only version, but he has one on his hand.

[00:33:54] Yeah.

[00:33:55] Yeah, and that was one thing that was interesting in researching this movie is there is a lot of theories as to what this Infinity Gauntlet is that Thanos has at this point.

[00:34:07] Whether it's the one that he put on himself after Guardians, which has some timeline holes in it, or maybe it's, you know, obviously Hela knocked over the fake that was in the vault that we also saw as a background Easter egg in Thor and all kinds of stuff.

[00:34:24] So, in the comics, the Infinity Gauntlet was introduced in Silver Surfer Volume 3, number 44, October of 1990.

[00:34:37] Thanos was actually the first to use all six gems in the gauntlet and use it empowered to make his comic book snap, which we'll talk about in the breakdown a little bit more.

[00:34:48] But, yeah, so it is, I believe was created by an Infinity Stone, if I remember right.

[00:35:01] I don't remember which Infinity Stone it was.

[00:35:04] The Gauntlet Stone.

[00:35:06] What's that?

[00:35:06] It's the Gauntlet Stone, it's gray.

[00:35:08] Oh, that's right.

[00:35:10] Yeah.

[00:35:10] That's right.

[00:35:10] Yeah.

[00:35:11] You missed that one.

[00:35:12] Yep.

[00:35:13] I'm pretty sure.

[00:35:14] Yep, I did.

[00:35:18] Yep.

[00:35:19] But, yeah, so that is the Infinity Stones, where they are before this movie, and it kind of sets us up narratively for the rest of this movie.

[00:35:33] So, before we go into the actual breakdown itself, let's talk a little bit about where we were before this movie and what we were thinking.

[00:35:45] So, first viewing, kind of going into the release, I'm going to pass it over, I'm going to let our guests do the honors.

[00:35:54] Eric, what do you remember about, you know, kind of going into the release of this movie, or maybe the first time that you saw it?

[00:36:01] What do you remember about, you know, how you were feeling and what you did?

[00:36:04] Yeah, I can remember us going to the LMO Draft House here, and I was really looking forward to it because, obviously, I've been into these movies since they started out.

[00:36:20] I was a pretty big comic book nerd.

[00:36:24] I worked at a comic shop for several years, and I know I had read the Infinity Gauntlet.

[00:36:34] I had read a trade of really all three of the Infinity Saga segments, and I was really looking forward to how they were going to approach this.

[00:36:48] And really, from the first moment that we saw Thanos turning around at the end of Avengers, I'm like, oh, this is what we're doing?

[00:36:56] Okay, let's go.

[00:36:57] Let's do it.

[00:36:59] So this was the culmination.

[00:37:01] My wife, I had gotten into these things as well, and I, knowing going into it that there were going to be two, I was fairly certain that Thanos was going to win for a little while.

[00:37:15] Didn't know how it was going to happen, didn't know how they were going to take this thing, but that was what I imagined going into this movie.

[00:37:23] And, like, what does that feel like as a viewer to come in and spend two and a half hours of your life and then find out that the bad guy won at the end?

[00:37:39] Yeah.

[00:37:42] Yeah, it was, I was really looking forward to that.

[00:37:46] I remember a woman sobbing several seats down at the theater because she had seen it the night before and she came back.

[00:37:56] Oh.

[00:37:56] We didn't go to a midnight show and we went, like, the next day.

[00:37:59] And this woman had come back and she wanted to see it again, and she's just sobbing at the end of the movie.

[00:38:06] I'm like, oh, no.

[00:38:07] Oh, no.

[00:38:07] Poor people.

[00:38:09] You know, and you think about it, like, what do kids think?

[00:38:12] Yeah.

[00:38:13] When they go to a movie and all of their heroes die at the end or half of their heroes die, what does that mean to them?

[00:38:22] What do you have to do as a parent to say, it'll probably be okay, I think?

[00:38:28] Yeah.

[00:38:29] There's another movie coming out next year?

[00:38:31] It's a year from now.

[00:38:33] You know how long a year is, right?

[00:38:37] Yeah.

[00:38:37] Just remember that Kevin Feige said that Spider-Man's got another movie coming out.

[00:38:42] You'll be fine.

[00:38:43] Right, right.

[00:38:44] Gosh, yeah.

[00:38:45] Like, how do you handle all of that?

[00:38:48] And I kept thinking about that going into it.

[00:38:50] Like, yeah.

[00:38:52] Yeah.

[00:38:52] It was beyond it being this massive undertaking, bringing all of these stories together into one.

[00:38:59] It was something that you don't see.

[00:39:03] You don't see the villain winning, and then you don't get a resolution for another year and three and a half hours.

[00:39:12] Yeah.

[00:39:15] Yeah.

[00:39:16] that was a culmination for me where I

[00:39:18] grew up watching

[00:39:20] cartoons. I grew up watching Ninja Turtles

[00:39:22] and every once in a while I'm like,

[00:39:24] can Shredder just win once in a while?

[00:39:26] Can he get away with something?

[00:39:28] This is getting boring, guys.

[00:39:30] You're too good at this.

[00:39:32] Why does he keep trying

[00:39:34] if he never wins? And that was

[00:39:36] the idea. I don't want to see Elmer Fudd

[00:39:38] take out Bugs Bunny.

[00:39:40] But it was interesting.

[00:39:42] But deep down you're like, eh, it's one time.

[00:39:44] Yeah, just one time.

[00:39:46] You know, he can...

[00:39:48] Yeah. I don't know.

[00:39:50] That whole lead-up

[00:39:52] was amazing and then the movie really did

[00:39:54] pay off. It was very satisfying.

[00:39:56] The Russos brought in

[00:39:58] so much.

[00:40:00] They carried on the humor

[00:40:02] in some segments and we'll get there

[00:40:04] I'm sure when we talk about the Guardians

[00:40:06] and Thor together. Perfect match-up.

[00:40:09] This whole

[00:40:10] thing was arranged so well

[00:40:12] and paced so well and the end

[00:40:14] of the movie was just back and forth

[00:40:16] between these things

[00:40:17] and, oh, will Thor save the day?

[00:40:21] All of this.

[00:40:22] You know, you didn't really know

[00:40:24] how things were going to come out

[00:40:25] and

[00:40:26] I thought it was phenomenal.

[00:40:29] so, yeah.

[00:40:30] I had a lot of fun

[00:40:32] watching this one

[00:40:33] and

[00:40:35] having the satisfaction

[00:40:36] of just

[00:40:37] like this big grin on my face

[00:40:39] at the end of the movie.

[00:40:40] My wife's like,

[00:40:41] that's it?

[00:40:43] That's it?

[00:40:44] What?

[00:40:44] That's it?

[00:40:45] That is it.

[00:40:46] Like, there's another one.

[00:40:47] Don't worry about it.

[00:40:48] Unlike Eric,

[00:40:50] I had not read the comics

[00:40:51] and so I remember going to go see it

[00:40:53] early morning.

[00:40:55] It wasn't as sold out

[00:40:57] as Black Panther was here

[00:40:58] in the Bay Area

[00:40:59] but it was

[00:41:00] it was definitely busy

[00:41:01] and so

[00:41:02] my son and I went to

[00:41:03] like an early morning watch

[00:41:06] and

[00:41:07] obviously looking forward to it

[00:41:08] like every, you know,

[00:41:10] every Marvel movie.

[00:41:11] I love the Avengers

[00:41:11] and was very

[00:41:12] enjoyed the stuff

[00:41:14] that the Russos had done before

[00:41:15] and then I remember exiting

[00:41:17] and I remember just feeling numb

[00:41:20] like

[00:41:23] realizing like the,

[00:41:24] you know,

[00:41:25] characters will come back.

[00:41:26] I mean,

[00:41:27] I know subconsciously

[00:41:28] I know that

[00:41:28] but just feeling

[00:41:29] just like

[00:41:30] the fact that they

[00:41:31] kind of ramped up

[00:41:32] that emotion for me

[00:41:33] or like the woman in the theater

[00:41:34] who was crying

[00:41:35] or

[00:41:36] Eric who was laughing

[00:41:37] at the end.

[00:41:39] Hooray!

[00:41:40] Hooray!

[00:41:42] Take that, everybody.

[00:41:44] Take that,

[00:41:44] Winter Soldier.

[00:41:46] The

[00:41:48] but I was

[00:41:49] I was like

[00:41:50] numb

[00:41:50] and I

[00:41:51] and both my son and I

[00:41:52] were kind of like

[00:41:53] walking back to the car

[00:41:54] we're just like

[00:41:54] what did we just see

[00:41:55] and when you talk about

[00:41:57] the cliffhanger

[00:41:57] the only movie that I can

[00:41:59] compare it to

[00:42:01] that had a similar feel

[00:42:02] was for me

[00:42:03] like in my youth

[00:42:04] was Empire Strikes Back

[00:42:05] and so

[00:42:06] there the bad guy

[00:42:07] had kind of won

[00:42:08] Han Sullivan

[00:42:09] you know,

[00:42:10] not to spoil

[00:42:10] Empire Strikes Back

[00:42:11] but

[00:42:12] and then you had to wait

[00:42:13] three years

[00:42:14] for the next one

[00:42:15] and that just

[00:42:16] oh man

[00:42:17] you're just waiting

[00:42:18] and waiting

[00:42:18] and waiting

[00:42:18] this one at least

[00:42:19] was only a year

[00:42:21] and listeners

[00:42:21] you only have to wait

[00:42:22] three months

[00:42:23] and then you can

[00:42:24] watch it again

[00:42:27] how about you Ryan?

[00:42:30] so

[00:42:30] midnight showing

[00:42:31] with the comic book shop

[00:42:32] I actually recently

[00:42:34] found my button

[00:42:35] that was the

[00:42:37] ticket

[00:42:38] to this one

[00:42:39] so I did see

[00:42:39] this one in Cheyenne

[00:42:40] at the time

[00:42:42] the comic book

[00:42:44] shop had changed

[00:42:45] their name

[00:42:45] to Olympus Games

[00:42:46] and Comics

[00:42:46] it's the first

[00:42:48] button that I have

[00:42:49] that actually

[00:42:49] has that moniker

[00:42:51] on it

[00:42:51] so

[00:42:51] what colors

[00:42:52] the button

[00:42:52] and does it

[00:42:53] align with the comics?

[00:42:57] I will have to find

[00:42:59] that button

[00:42:59] I'll post it on our

[00:43:00] social so you guys

[00:43:01] can check it out

[00:43:01] but yeah

[00:43:03] so

[00:43:03] saw it with the

[00:43:05] comic book nerds

[00:43:06] I

[00:43:07] definitely

[00:43:09] was aware

[00:43:10] of the

[00:43:11] Infinity comics

[00:43:12] I had not

[00:43:12] read them

[00:43:13] but I was aware

[00:43:14] of the snap

[00:43:15] right

[00:43:15] and I was aware

[00:43:16] that that was

[00:43:17] the potential

[00:43:18] of this

[00:43:19] I will also

[00:43:20] say I was

[00:43:22] I was

[00:43:25] through the

[00:43:26] roof

[00:43:26] excited

[00:43:27] for this

[00:43:29] movie

[00:43:30] um

[00:43:31] I have been

[00:43:33] obviously

[00:43:34] I have a podcast

[00:43:35] about it

[00:43:36] I've been a

[00:43:37] Marvel guy

[00:43:37] since

[00:43:38] the beginning

[00:43:39] right

[00:43:40] I was

[00:43:40] into the comics

[00:43:41] I then

[00:43:42] got very

[00:43:43] invested in

[00:43:44] the movies

[00:43:44] midnight

[00:43:45] showings of

[00:43:46] pretty much

[00:43:46] everything

[00:43:47] from Thor

[00:43:48] on

[00:43:49] I don't think

[00:43:49] I saw

[00:43:50] Iron Man

[00:43:51] at midnight

[00:43:51] but um

[00:43:53] you know

[00:43:54] midnight showings

[00:43:55] of it all

[00:43:55] very invested

[00:43:57] it's how my

[00:43:58] social circle

[00:43:59] formed right

[00:44:00] through these

[00:44:01] these comic book

[00:44:02] shop showings

[00:44:03] of these movies

[00:44:04] is how a lot

[00:44:05] of my social

[00:44:06] circle formed

[00:44:07] in my

[00:44:07] in in those

[00:44:08] years

[00:44:08] and so

[00:44:11] this

[00:44:11] this was

[00:44:12] like

[00:44:13] an event

[00:44:14] for me

[00:44:14] it was a

[00:44:15] pretty big

[00:44:15] deal

[00:44:16] um

[00:44:16] to to see

[00:44:17] this all

[00:44:18] come to

[00:44:18] fruition

[00:44:19] and um

[00:44:21] very very

[00:44:22] very very

[00:44:23] very excited

[00:44:24] for this

[00:44:25] one

[00:44:26] I

[00:44:28] I

[00:44:29] yeah

[00:44:30] I was

[00:44:30] so so

[00:44:31] so so

[00:44:32] stoked

[00:44:32] I'm pretty

[00:44:32] sure I was

[00:44:33] in Iron

[00:44:34] Ram armor

[00:44:34] for this

[00:44:35] one

[00:44:35] I think

[00:44:37] I got

[00:44:38] myself into

[00:44:38] my spandex

[00:44:39] for this

[00:44:39] one

[00:44:40] but not

[00:44:41] for this

[00:44:42] episode

[00:44:43] it's

[00:44:44] disappointing

[00:44:44] only the

[00:44:45] t-shirt

[00:44:46] only the

[00:44:46] CSU

[00:44:47] t-shirt

[00:44:47] today

[00:44:47] it's

[00:44:48] fine

[00:44:49] um

[00:44:50] I think

[00:44:51] actually

[00:44:54] I'm trying

[00:44:54] to remember

[00:44:55] I know

[00:44:55] I won

[00:44:56] trivia

[00:44:56] I don't

[00:44:57] remember

[00:44:57] the question

[00:44:58] now

[00:44:58] I mean

[00:44:59] we're

[00:44:59] five

[00:45:00] six

[00:45:01] years

[00:45:01] on

[00:45:02] but

[00:45:03] uh

[00:45:03] I

[00:45:03] they did

[00:45:04] trivia

[00:45:05] at those

[00:45:06] comic book

[00:45:06] showings

[00:45:06] and I

[00:45:07] won

[00:45:07] I won

[00:45:08] a gift

[00:45:08] card

[00:45:08] through

[00:45:08] the

[00:45:09] trivia

[00:45:09] uh

[00:45:10] at this

[00:45:11] showing

[00:45:11] but

[00:45:12] yeah

[00:45:13] I'll talk

[00:45:14] a little

[00:45:14] bit more

[00:45:14] about like

[00:45:15] the experience

[00:45:16] during the

[00:45:16] snap scene

[00:45:17] and that sort

[00:45:17] of stuff

[00:45:17] when we get

[00:45:18] there in the

[00:45:18] breakdown

[00:45:19] but

[00:45:20] it was

[00:45:21] it was

[00:45:22] the energy

[00:45:23] in that

[00:45:24] theater was

[00:45:24] electric

[00:45:25] it was just

[00:45:26] so cool

[00:45:28] being there

[00:45:29] with a lot

[00:45:30] of other

[00:45:30] people who

[00:45:31] had similarly

[00:45:32] like spent

[00:45:33] time with

[00:45:34] this this

[00:45:35] series right

[00:45:35] it wasn't

[00:45:37] really

[00:45:37] you know

[00:45:38] the the

[00:45:39] experience

[00:45:39] of those

[00:45:40] comic book

[00:45:40] showings

[00:45:41] and I

[00:45:41] think this

[00:45:42] may be

[00:45:42] one of

[00:45:42] the last

[00:45:43] ones we

[00:45:43] did

[00:45:43] because

[00:45:45] it

[00:45:45] it fell

[00:45:46] off at

[00:45:47] a certain

[00:45:47] point

[00:45:48] um

[00:45:48] pre-covid

[00:45:49] but

[00:45:51] um

[00:45:52] it was just

[00:45:53] such a

[00:45:55] it was such

[00:45:56] a unique

[00:45:56] experience

[00:45:57] because

[00:45:57] you didn't

[00:45:58] have any

[00:45:59] normies

[00:46:00] mixed in

[00:46:00] right

[00:46:00] maybe

[00:46:01] somebody's

[00:46:01] partner

[00:46:02] or something

[00:46:03] like that

[00:46:03] but

[00:46:04] these

[00:46:05] all of

[00:46:05] these

[00:46:06] people

[00:46:06] went to

[00:46:06] a comic

[00:46:07] book store

[00:46:07] to buy

[00:46:10] into

[00:46:11] going to

[00:46:12] these

[00:46:13] showings

[00:46:14] which

[00:46:15] kind of

[00:46:15] self-selects

[00:46:16] in and of

[00:46:17] itself

[00:46:17] a really

[00:46:18] captive

[00:46:19] really really

[00:46:20] focused audience

[00:46:21] which

[00:46:22] is just

[00:46:24] so neat

[00:46:25] to be in

[00:46:26] a whole

[00:46:26] room of

[00:46:27] people who

[00:46:27] are very

[00:46:28] invested

[00:46:28] you know

[00:46:29] it's

[00:46:30] it's not

[00:46:30] the dads

[00:46:31] brads

[00:46:31] and chads

[00:46:32] who are

[00:46:32] taking their

[00:46:32] three-year-old

[00:46:33] to go see

[00:46:34] Deadpool

[00:46:34] like I

[00:46:35] experienced

[00:46:36] a couple

[00:46:36] weeks ago

[00:46:38] it's

[00:46:39] it's

[00:46:40] people

[00:46:40] largely

[00:46:41] who had

[00:46:41] read the

[00:46:42] comics

[00:46:42] I was

[00:46:43] probably

[00:46:43] among

[00:46:44] the least

[00:46:44] knowledgeable

[00:46:46] honestly

[00:46:47] which

[00:46:48] which

[00:46:48] is

[00:46:49] is a

[00:46:50] really

[00:46:51] cool

[00:46:51] place

[00:46:52] to be

[00:46:52] I think

[00:46:53] so

[00:46:55] so yeah

[00:46:56] it was

[00:46:56] it was

[00:46:57] really fun

[00:46:57] and

[00:46:58] and like

[00:46:58] I say

[00:46:58] very much

[00:46:59] I think

[00:47:00] I saw

[00:47:00] this one

[00:47:00] three or

[00:47:01] four times

[00:47:01] in the

[00:47:01] theaters

[00:47:02] oh gosh

[00:47:02] because I

[00:47:03] was so

[00:47:03] excited

[00:47:03] about it

[00:47:06] um

[00:47:07] let's see

[00:47:08] here so

[00:47:08] next question

[00:47:10] coming back

[00:47:11] to it

[00:47:11] this month

[00:47:13] right

[00:47:13] we we

[00:47:14] all rewatched

[00:47:15] it um

[00:47:17] three times

[00:47:18] once every

[00:47:19] week

[00:47:20] yeah

[00:47:20] including this

[00:47:21] morning

[00:47:21] nice

[00:47:22] at 5am

[00:47:23] nice

[00:47:24] well each

[00:47:25] time that

[00:47:26] you watched

[00:47:26] it what

[00:47:27] were your

[00:47:27] thoughts

[00:47:27] before no

[00:47:28] I'm just

[00:47:28] kidding

[00:47:28] what were

[00:47:29] what were

[00:47:30] your thoughts

[00:47:30] kind of

[00:47:31] going into

[00:47:31] the project

[00:47:32] of watching

[00:47:33] it for

[00:47:33] this and

[00:47:34] wanting to

[00:47:35] revisit it

[00:47:35] this month

[00:47:36] I mean at

[00:47:37] this point

[00:47:37] I've seen

[00:47:38] the movie

[00:47:38] so many

[00:47:39] times

[00:47:40] it's

[00:47:41] it's more

[00:47:41] of a

[00:47:42] like what

[00:47:43] what can

[00:47:43] I pick

[00:47:43] up that

[00:47:44] I might

[00:47:44] not have

[00:47:44] seen before

[00:47:45] because I

[00:47:46] watch a lot

[00:47:47] of these

[00:47:47] movies just as

[00:47:48] background

[00:47:49] at this

[00:47:50] point

[00:47:50] it's

[00:47:51] it's

[00:47:51] something

[00:47:51] that I

[00:47:52] have on

[00:47:52] while I'm

[00:47:53] ironing

[00:47:54] clothes

[00:47:55] or doing

[00:47:56] stuff in

[00:47:57] the kitchen

[00:47:57] it's just

[00:47:58] on

[00:47:58] and I

[00:47:59] look over

[00:48:00] and I

[00:48:00] watch my

[00:48:01] favorite

[00:48:01] parts

[00:48:02] and I

[00:48:02] found myself

[00:48:03] watching

[00:48:04] really closely

[00:48:05] especially this

[00:48:05] morning

[00:48:06] even though I

[00:48:07] was supposed

[00:48:07] to be writing

[00:48:08] a script

[00:48:08] for something

[00:48:10] for an ad

[00:48:10] spot

[00:48:11] and I

[00:48:12] it took me

[00:48:13] the entire

[00:48:14] two and a

[00:48:14] half hours

[00:48:15] and I still

[00:48:15] didn't finish

[00:48:16] that script

[00:48:16] because I

[00:48:17] was paying

[00:48:17] close attention

[00:48:18] I like

[00:48:20] it's an

[00:48:20] opportunity

[00:48:21] to go

[00:48:21] back

[00:48:22] and really

[00:48:24] absorb

[00:48:25] something

[00:48:25] and try

[00:48:26] to get

[00:48:26] some of

[00:48:26] that

[00:48:27] emotion

[00:48:28] back

[00:48:29] while

[00:48:29] watching

[00:48:29] it

[00:48:30] and you

[00:48:31] know

[00:48:31] it was

[00:48:32] just

[00:48:32] it's

[00:48:33] just

[00:48:33] entertaining

[00:48:34] I don't

[00:48:35] know that

[00:48:35] I got

[00:48:36] any

[00:48:36] I'm sure

[00:48:37] you two

[00:48:38] always do

[00:48:39] but I'm

[00:48:39] sure you'll

[00:48:39] find some

[00:48:40] Easter eggs

[00:48:41] that I've

[00:48:41] never

[00:48:41] noticed

[00:48:42] or heard

[00:48:43] of

[00:48:44] and

[00:48:45] that's

[00:48:46] that's

[00:48:46] cool

[00:48:46] but I

[00:48:48] think

[00:48:48] today

[00:48:48] was just

[00:48:49] about

[00:48:49] like

[00:48:49] getting

[00:48:50] the

[00:48:50] feel

[00:48:51] of the

[00:48:51] movie

[00:48:52] and it's

[00:48:52] just

[00:48:52] entertaining

[00:48:53] it has

[00:48:54] a very

[00:48:55] it's

[00:48:56] like I said

[00:48:56] earlier

[00:48:57] it's so

[00:48:57] well

[00:48:58] paced

[00:48:58] it's

[00:48:59] so

[00:48:59] well

[00:49:00] designed

[00:49:01] the team

[00:49:02] ups

[00:49:02] are perfect

[00:49:03] I

[00:49:04] never knew

[00:49:05] that

[00:49:06] half the

[00:49:07] actors

[00:49:07] had never

[00:49:08] read the

[00:49:08] entire

[00:49:08] script

[00:49:08] it makes

[00:49:09] total

[00:49:09] sense

[00:49:10] that

[00:49:11] Cumberbatch

[00:49:12] had read

[00:49:13] the entire

[00:49:13] thing

[00:49:13] because his

[00:49:14] character needs

[00:49:15] to know

[00:49:15] everything

[00:49:15] exactly

[00:49:17] and

[00:49:18] everybody

[00:49:19] else

[00:49:19] like you

[00:49:20] can tell

[00:49:20] that a lot

[00:49:21] of them

[00:49:22] don't know

[00:49:22] what's going

[00:49:22] on

[00:49:23] some of

[00:49:23] these

[00:49:23] things

[00:49:24] like my

[00:49:24] favorite

[00:49:25] parts

[00:49:25] my

[00:49:26] like

[00:49:26] new

[00:49:27] favorite

[00:49:27] lines

[00:49:28] watching

[00:49:28] are like

[00:49:28] there's

[00:49:30] hey kid

[00:49:32] there are

[00:49:33] people from

[00:49:34] space

[00:49:34] they're

[00:49:34] attacking

[00:49:35] a wizard

[00:49:35] like

[00:49:36] they want

[00:49:37] to get

[00:49:37] a necklace

[00:49:38] from a

[00:49:38] wizard

[00:49:38] that's

[00:49:39] what it

[00:49:39] was

[00:49:39] yeah

[00:49:40] and

[00:49:42] spider-man

[00:49:42] is like

[00:49:43] okay

[00:49:43] let's

[00:49:43] go

[00:49:45] have

[00:49:46] you

[00:49:46] seen

[00:49:46] that

[00:49:46] ancient

[00:49:46] this

[00:49:47] really

[00:49:47] old

[00:49:47] movie

[00:49:47] called

[00:49:48] aliens

[00:49:48] oh

[00:49:49] gosh

[00:49:49] I

[00:50:07] genuinely

[00:50:08] look

[00:50:08] perplexed

[00:50:09] in a

[00:50:09] lot

[00:50:09] of

[00:50:09] scenes

[00:50:09] and

[00:50:10] I

[00:50:10] don't

[00:50:10] think

[00:50:10] it's

[00:50:10] acting

[00:50:10] right

[00:50:11] like

[00:50:12] it's

[00:50:12] so

[00:50:12] great

[00:50:12] and

[00:50:13] it

[00:50:13] works

[00:50:13] out

[00:50:13] so

[00:50:14] well

[00:50:14] this

[00:50:14] is

[00:50:14] a

[00:50:14] kid

[00:50:15] who has

[00:50:15] no

[00:50:15] right

[00:50:15] being

[00:50:16] in

[00:50:16] space

[00:50:17] yeah

[00:50:18] and

[00:50:19] it

[00:50:19] all

[00:50:19] comes

[00:50:20] together

[00:50:20] so

[00:50:20] well

[00:50:21] and

[00:50:21] you

[00:50:21] see

[00:50:22] these

[00:50:22] clashes

[00:50:23] between

[00:50:23] characters

[00:50:24] and you

[00:50:24] get

[00:50:24] the

[00:50:25] I

[00:50:25] mean

[00:50:25] this

[00:50:25] is

[00:50:26] a

[00:50:26] common

[00:50:27] trope

[00:50:27] in

[00:50:27] comic

[00:50:28] books

[00:50:28] is

[00:50:28] the

[00:50:29] heroes

[00:50:30] meet

[00:50:30] for

[00:50:30] the

[00:50:30] first

[00:50:30] time

[00:50:31] and

[00:50:31] they

[00:50:31] fight

[00:50:31] why

[00:50:32] do

[00:50:32] they

[00:50:32] fight

[00:50:32] because

[00:50:33] that's

[00:50:33] all

[00:50:33] they

[00:50:33] do

[00:50:34] they

[00:50:34] fight

[00:50:34] constantly

[00:50:35] that's

[00:50:35] just

[00:50:35] what

[00:50:35] they

[00:50:36] know

[00:50:36] right

[00:50:36] and

[00:50:37] after

[00:50:37] they

[00:50:37] fight

[00:50:37] for

[00:50:37] a few

[00:50:38] minutes

[00:50:38] to

[00:50:38] go

[00:50:38] oh

[00:50:38] wait

[00:50:39] we're

[00:50:39] all

[00:50:39] good

[00:50:39] cool

[00:50:40] all right

[00:50:41] where's

[00:50:41] the

[00:50:41] bad

[00:50:41] guy

[00:50:41] we

[00:50:42] want

[00:50:42] to

[00:50:42] fight

[00:50:42] somebody

[00:50:43] and

[00:50:44] it

[00:50:44] like

[00:50:44] they

[00:50:44] they

[00:50:45] fulfill

[00:50:45] so

[00:50:46] many

[00:50:46] comic

[00:50:48] uh

[00:50:49] comic

[00:50:50] book

[00:50:50] tropes

[00:50:51] they

[00:50:51] fulfill

[00:50:51] so

[00:50:52] many

[00:50:52] like

[00:50:53] the

[00:50:53] movie

[00:50:53] is

[00:50:53] vastly

[00:50:54] different

[00:50:54] from

[00:50:55] the

[00:50:55] infinity

[00:50:56] gauntlet

[00:50:56] comic

[00:50:57] book

[00:50:57] yeah

[00:50:58] but

[00:50:58] it

[00:50:59] does

[00:51:00] it

[00:51:01] reach

[00:51:01] like

[00:51:01] that

[00:51:01] that

[00:51:02] was

[00:51:02] such

[00:51:02] a

[00:51:02] seminal

[00:51:04] series

[00:51:04] and

[00:51:05] they

[00:51:06] they

[00:51:06] accomplish

[00:51:06] what

[00:51:07] that

[00:51:07] series

[00:51:07] did

[00:51:08] in

[00:51:09] their

[00:51:09] own

[00:51:10] way

[00:51:10] based

[00:51:10] on

[00:51:11] the

[00:51:11] movies

[00:51:11] that

[00:51:11] they

[00:51:11] have

[00:51:11] been

[00:51:12] setting

[00:51:12] up

[00:51:12] for

[00:51:12] years

[00:51:12] even

[00:51:13] though

[00:51:13] early

[00:51:13] on

[00:51:14] it

[00:51:14] was

[00:51:14] just

[00:51:14] hey

[00:51:15] let's

[00:51:15] make

[00:51:16] a movie

[00:51:16] with

[00:51:16] Iron

[00:51:16] Man

[00:51:17] like

[00:51:17] they

[00:51:17] managed

[00:51:18] to bring

[00:51:18] all this

[00:51:19] stuff

[00:51:19] together

[00:51:19] and

[00:51:19] that's

[00:51:20] that's

[00:51:20] a

[00:51:20] testament

[00:51:21] to

[00:51:21] Feige

[00:51:21] to say

[00:51:22] here

[00:51:23] are

[00:51:23] the

[00:51:23] pieces

[00:51:23] I've

[00:51:23] got

[00:51:23] I

[00:51:24] want

[00:51:24] to

[00:51:24] do

[00:51:24] something

[00:51:24] bigger

[00:51:25] and

[00:51:26] it

[00:51:26] paid

[00:51:27] off

[00:51:28] it's

[00:51:29] incredible

[00:51:30] that it

[00:51:31] did that

[00:51:32] and

[00:51:32] I think

[00:51:33] this time

[00:51:34] watching

[00:51:35] it was

[00:51:36] just

[00:51:37] another

[00:51:37] one

[00:51:37] of

[00:51:37] those

[00:51:37] moments

[00:51:38] to go

[00:51:38] this

[00:51:38] is

[00:51:39] incredible

[00:51:41] in my

[00:51:42] lifetime

[00:51:42] to see

[00:51:44] this

[00:51:44] happen

[00:51:45] after

[00:51:45] nearly

[00:51:46] 20

[00:51:46] movies

[00:51:49] who

[00:51:49] does

[00:51:50] that

[00:51:50] this

[00:51:51] series

[00:51:52] redefined

[00:51:54] cinema

[00:51:55] and

[00:51:56] no one

[00:51:56] else

[00:51:57] has been

[00:51:57] able to

[00:51:57] pull it

[00:51:58] off

[00:51:58] yeah

[00:51:59] everybody

[00:51:59] tries

[00:52:00] nobody

[00:52:00] can do

[00:52:01] it

[00:52:01] because

[00:52:02] Marvel

[00:52:03] did it

[00:52:03] best

[00:52:04] and

[00:52:05] that's

[00:52:06] that's

[00:52:06] it

[00:52:06] and

[00:52:07] it

[00:52:07] continues

[00:52:08] from there

[00:52:08] because

[00:52:09] endgame

[00:52:09] is even

[00:52:09] better

[00:52:11] so

[00:52:12] is it

[00:52:15] yeah

[00:52:17] listen in

[00:52:18] three months

[00:52:18] and you'll

[00:52:18] find out

[00:52:19] but

[00:52:21] to your

[00:52:21] point

[00:52:22] like

[00:52:22] going

[00:52:23] back

[00:52:23] and revisiting

[00:52:24] it

[00:52:24] we've

[00:52:25] all

[00:52:25] seen

[00:52:25] it

[00:52:25] a bunch

[00:52:26] of

[00:52:26] times

[00:52:28] and

[00:52:28] first time

[00:52:29] is very

[00:52:29] emotional

[00:52:29] and over

[00:52:30] time

[00:52:30] you see

[00:52:31] it over

[00:52:32] and over

[00:52:32] and you

[00:52:32] try to

[00:52:32] pick up

[00:52:33] things

[00:52:33] you see

[00:52:34] little

[00:52:34] easter eggs

[00:52:34] you see

[00:52:35] payoffs

[00:52:35] from prior

[00:52:36] movies

[00:52:36] there's a lot

[00:52:37] of stuff

[00:52:37] which

[00:52:39] were hinted

[00:52:39] to or

[00:52:40] alluded to

[00:52:41] that we've

[00:52:41] seen

[00:52:41] that were

[00:52:42] previewed

[00:52:43] other

[00:52:43] movies

[00:52:43] that

[00:52:43] pay off

[00:52:44] here

[00:52:44] and

[00:52:45] I

[00:52:45] on

[00:52:46] rewatch

[00:52:46] I just

[00:52:47] wanted

[00:52:47] to

[00:52:48] just

[00:52:49] kind of

[00:52:49] like

[00:52:50] as you

[00:52:50] said

[00:52:50] just

[00:52:50] sit

[00:52:51] back

[00:52:51] and

[00:52:51] enjoy

[00:52:52] it

[00:52:52] because

[00:52:52] it

[00:52:52] is

[00:52:53] fantastic

[00:52:54] the

[00:52:55] thinking

[00:52:56] that you

[00:52:56] could

[00:52:56] set

[00:52:57] this

[00:52:57] up

[00:52:57] in

[00:52:59] two and

[00:52:59] a half

[00:52:59] hours

[00:53:00] and it

[00:53:00] doesn't

[00:53:00] drag

[00:53:00] at all

[00:53:01] it is

[00:53:01] it is

[00:53:02] tidy

[00:53:02] it is

[00:53:03] funny

[00:53:04] the scenes

[00:53:05] are tight

[00:53:05] the

[00:53:06] story

[00:53:07] I mean

[00:53:08] it's packed

[00:53:08] with characters

[00:53:09] but you don't

[00:53:09] feel like

[00:53:10] characters

[00:53:11] are just

[00:53:11] like thrown

[00:53:12] in there

[00:53:12] just for

[00:53:13] for you

[00:53:13] know

[00:53:14] fan

[00:53:14] yeah

[00:53:15] totally

[00:53:16] and

[00:53:17] I just

[00:53:18] wanted to

[00:53:18] see if

[00:53:18] it continues

[00:53:19] to hold

[00:53:19] up

[00:53:20] it is

[00:53:20] it is

[00:53:21] I mean

[00:53:21] that's

[00:53:21] both

[00:53:21] things

[00:53:22] it's

[00:53:22] probably

[00:53:23] in my

[00:53:23] top

[00:53:24] three

[00:53:24] and I

[00:53:25] wanted

[00:53:25] to see

[00:53:26] on rewatch

[00:53:26] if it

[00:53:27] still

[00:53:27] feels like

[00:53:28] it's

[00:53:28] that good

[00:53:29] and it

[00:53:29] is still

[00:53:30] that good

[00:53:30] yeah

[00:53:31] I

[00:53:32] definitely

[00:53:33] agree

[00:53:33] I think

[00:53:34] one thing

[00:53:35] I noticed

[00:53:35] about halfway

[00:53:36] through

[00:53:36] rewatching

[00:53:37] it this

[00:53:37] month

[00:53:39] was

[00:53:40] every

[00:53:41] time

[00:53:41] between

[00:53:41] the

[00:53:42] first

[00:53:42] time

[00:53:42] I saw

[00:53:42] it

[00:53:43] and

[00:53:43] this

[00:53:44] time

[00:53:44] watching

[00:53:45] it

[00:53:45] I

[00:53:46] have

[00:53:46] spent

[00:53:46] the

[00:53:47] first

[00:53:47] half

[00:53:47] of the

[00:53:48] movie

[00:53:48] waiting

[00:53:48] for

[00:53:49] the

[00:53:49] second

[00:53:49] half

[00:53:51] just

[00:53:51] because

[00:53:52] of the

[00:53:52] way

[00:53:52] I

[00:53:52] watched

[00:53:53] the

[00:53:53] movie

[00:53:53] and

[00:53:53] just

[00:53:53] how

[00:53:54] I

[00:53:54] enjoy

[00:53:54] it

[00:53:54] and

[00:53:55] whatever

[00:53:55] I

[00:53:56] realized

[00:53:56] I

[00:53:57] never

[00:53:57] really

[00:53:57] paid

[00:53:58] attention

[00:53:58] to

[00:53:58] much

[00:53:59] of

[00:53:59] the

[00:53:59] actual

[00:54:00] movie

[00:54:01] up

[00:54:01] until

[00:54:02] the

[00:54:02] fight

[00:54:02] like

[00:54:02] that

[00:54:03] just

[00:54:03] in

[00:54:19] watching

[00:54:19] watching

[00:54:19] watching

[00:54:19] was

[00:54:21] having

[00:54:22] watched

[00:54:23] all

[00:54:23] the

[00:54:23] movies

[00:54:24] and

[00:54:24] that

[00:54:24] that's

[00:54:24] principally

[00:54:25] part

[00:54:26] of

[00:54:26] the

[00:54:26] theory

[00:54:27] behind

[00:54:28] this

[00:54:28] podcast

[00:54:29] itself

[00:54:30] the

[00:54:30] reason

[00:54:32] why

[00:54:32] I

[00:54:32] wanted

[00:54:32] to do

[00:54:33] it

[00:54:33] the way

[00:54:33] I

[00:54:33] did

[00:54:33] is

[00:54:34] watching

[00:54:34] them

[00:54:34] in

[00:54:35] release

[00:54:35] order

[00:54:35] to

[00:54:36] give

[00:54:37] that

[00:54:37] to

[00:54:38] kind

[00:54:38] of

[00:54:38] give

[00:54:39] back

[00:54:40] some

[00:54:40] of

[00:54:40] that

[00:54:41] feel

[00:54:41] of

[00:54:42] like

[00:54:42] oh

[00:54:42] this

[00:54:43] is

[00:54:43] what

[00:54:49] it

[00:54:50] was

[00:54:50] really

[00:54:50] interesting

[00:54:51] in

[00:54:52] the

[00:54:52] light

[00:54:52] of

[00:54:53] the

[00:54:53] last

[00:54:53] two

[00:54:53] years

[00:54:54] spending

[00:54:54] the

[00:54:54] last

[00:54:55] two

[00:54:55] years

[00:54:55] with

[00:54:55] a

[00:54:56] movie

[00:54:56] a

[00:54:56] month

[00:54:57] from

[00:54:57] this

[00:54:58] franchise

[00:55:00] getting

[00:55:01] back

[00:55:01] to

[00:55:02] where

[00:55:03] we

[00:55:03] are

[00:55:03] now

[00:55:03] and

[00:55:04] just

[00:55:05] actually

[00:55:05] seeing

[00:55:06] the

[00:55:06] payoffs

[00:55:07] in

[00:55:07] that

[00:55:07] condensed

[00:55:08] amount

[00:55:08] of

[00:55:08] time

[00:55:09] rather

[00:55:09] than

[00:55:09] those

[00:55:09] 10

[00:55:10] years

[00:55:10] where

[00:55:10] you

[00:55:11] forget

[00:55:11] some

[00:55:11] of

[00:55:11] the

[00:55:12] things

[00:55:12] that

[00:55:12] might

[00:55:12] pay

[00:55:12] off

[00:55:13] or

[00:55:13] whatever

[00:55:13] and

[00:55:13] you

[00:55:14] have

[00:55:14] to

[00:55:14] go

[00:55:14] to

[00:55:14] somewhere

[00:55:15] like

[00:55:15] new

[00:55:15] rock

[00:55:15] stars

[00:55:16] to

[00:55:16] have

[00:55:17] them

[00:55:17] tell

[00:55:17] you

[00:55:18] what's

[00:55:18] paying

[00:55:18] off

[00:55:20] now

[00:55:21] I've

[00:55:21] spent

[00:55:22] the

[00:55:22] last

[00:55:22] two

[00:55:22] years

[00:55:22] watching

[00:55:23] these

[00:55:23] movies

[00:55:23] in a

[00:55:23] very

[00:55:24] condensed

[00:55:24] fashion

[00:55:25] which

[00:55:26] means

[00:55:26] now

[00:55:27] I get

[00:55:27] to

[00:55:28] see

[00:55:28] all

[00:55:28] the

[00:55:28] payoffs

[00:55:29] that

[00:55:29] maybe

[00:55:29] I

[00:55:29] didn't

[00:55:29] even

[00:55:30] notice

[00:55:30] before

[00:55:30] which

[00:55:31] was

[00:55:31] really

[00:55:32] cool

[00:55:33] and

[00:55:33] I

[00:55:36] was

[00:55:36] really

[00:55:36] looking

[00:55:37] forward

[00:55:37] to

[00:55:37] going

[00:55:38] forward

[00:55:39] to

[00:55:40] with

[00:55:40] keeping

[00:55:41] finding

[00:55:41] these

[00:55:42] where

[00:55:42] we're

[00:55:43] finding

[00:55:44] new

[00:55:44] I'm

[00:55:45] even

[00:55:45] finding

[00:55:46] new

[00:55:46] Easter

[00:55:46] eggs

[00:55:47] that

[00:55:47] I

[00:55:47] didn't

[00:55:47] realize

[00:55:48] before

[00:55:48] just

[00:55:48] because

[00:55:49] of

[00:55:50] how

[00:55:51] quickly

[00:55:51] we're

[00:55:51] watching

[00:55:52] these

[00:55:52] movies

[00:55:52] and

[00:55:52] that

[00:55:52] sort

[00:55:53] of

[00:55:53] thing

[00:55:53] it's

[00:55:54] really

[00:55:55] neat

[00:55:55] in

[00:55:55] that

[00:55:55] way

[00:55:57] I

[00:55:57] described

[00:55:57] it

[00:56:00] this

[00:56:00] was

[00:56:01] no

[00:56:01] small

[00:56:02] task

[00:56:02] you

[00:56:02] think

[00:56:03] about

[00:56:03] having

[00:56:04] 100

[00:56:04] plus

[00:56:05] actors

[00:56:06] and

[00:56:07] were

[00:56:08] setting

[00:56:08] up

[00:56:08] this

[00:56:08] second

[00:56:09] part

[00:56:09] of

[00:56:09] the

[00:56:09] film

[00:56:09] and

[00:56:11] it's

[00:56:12] I'm

[00:56:13] not

[00:56:13] going to

[00:56:13] say

[00:56:13] it's

[00:56:13] perfect

[00:56:13] but

[00:56:14] it

[00:56:14] is

[00:56:14] it's

[00:56:15] an

[00:56:15] excellent

[00:56:16] movie

[00:56:16] that

[00:56:17] I

[00:56:17] have

[00:56:17] no

[00:56:18] complaints

[00:56:18] critiques

[00:56:19] there's

[00:56:19] nothing

[00:56:20] I can

[00:56:20] think of

[00:56:20] that they

[00:56:21] could

[00:56:21] improve

[00:56:21] upon

[00:56:22] I'm

[00:56:22] sure

[00:56:22] there

[00:56:22] probably

[00:56:22] is

[00:56:23] and

[00:56:23] I'm

[00:56:23] sure

[00:56:44] the

[00:56:47] Black

[00:56:48] Panther

[00:56:49] the

[00:56:51] one

[00:56:51] who

[00:56:51] said

[00:56:51] he'd

[00:56:52] rather

[00:56:52] watch

[00:56:53] Falcon

[00:56:54] movie

[00:56:55] yeah

[00:56:55] exactly

[00:56:56] if you

[00:56:57] have

[00:56:57] to put

[00:56:57] a

[00:56:57] black

[00:56:58] guy

[00:56:58] in

[00:56:58] a

[00:56:58] movie

[00:56:58] make

[00:56:59] it

[00:57:00] one

[00:57:00] I

[00:57:00] want

[00:57:00] to

[00:57:01] watch

[00:57:01] exactly

[00:57:02] oh

[00:57:03] I'm

[00:57:03] not

[00:57:04] gonna

[00:57:04] oh

[00:57:05] internet

[00:57:05] oh

[00:57:06] the

[00:57:06] internet

[00:57:07] oh

[00:57:07] internet

[00:57:07] uh

[00:57:09] oh

[00:57:09] Ike

[00:57:10] Perlmutter

[00:57:13] poor

[00:57:14] Ike

[00:57:14] he doesn't

[00:57:14] even own

[00:57:15] any

[00:57:15] Disney

[00:57:15] stock

[00:57:16] anymore

[00:57:17] how's

[00:57:18] that

[00:57:18] poor

[00:57:18] guy

[00:57:18] gonna

[00:57:18] survive

[00:57:19] right

[00:57:19] poor

[00:57:19] is

[00:57:20] not

[00:57:20] a

[00:57:20] good

[00:57:20] word

[00:57:20] to

[00:57:31] let's

[00:57:32] break

[00:57:32] down

[00:57:32] this

[00:57:33] movie

[00:57:33] we're

[00:57:34] gonna

[00:57:34] go

[00:57:34] top

[00:57:34] to

[00:57:34] bottom

[00:57:35] front

[00:57:35] to

[00:57:35] back

[00:57:36] get

[00:57:36] through

[00:57:37] it

[00:57:37] um

[00:57:38] and

[00:57:38] uh

[00:57:39] yeah

[00:57:39] so

[00:57:40] let's

[00:57:41] get

[00:57:41] started
