[00:00:03] Welcome to Puny Pod's Monthly Bugle 4 September 2024, my name is Ryan and my co-host.
[00:00:10] As always is David, David, how are we doing this evening?
[00:00:14] I'm doing great, man.
[00:00:16] I've got to watch an episode of Half of Agatha and looking forward to talking about the buddy
[00:00:24] about some MCU content.
[00:00:26] How are you?
[00:00:26] Heck yeah, I'm doing pretty good.
[00:00:29] Recovered from our marathons of our last couple of main show episodes and you know excited excited to get to hang out.
[00:00:39] We hung out last week and we recorded Super Secret Spoiler show.
[00:00:42] You guys can check that out on the ears of Patreon.
[00:00:45] That should be coming out here soon as soon as I get around to editing it.
[00:00:50] But yeah, I am excited to be here and talking about MCU news.
[00:00:56] Something other than just Deadpool for the first time in like three months here on the monthly bugle.
[00:01:04] Not that Deadpool is a problem but we've talked.
[00:01:07] We talked a lot about a lot of Deadpool so very excited to get back in the flow with how we're running with monthly bugle here.
[00:01:18] Do we want to go back to the Hollywood strikes? I can go back.
[00:01:21] Go back.
[00:01:22] Pull that.
[00:01:24] I'm good.
[00:01:24] Yeah, I'm good.
[00:01:28] So yeah David, you mentioned it a little bit.
[00:01:30] We are here.
[00:01:31] We're recording actually on the 18th of September.
[00:01:39] And that means we are recording on the release night of Agatha.
[00:01:43] Now I did not get a chance to watch it.
[00:01:46] I don't know if you can watch any of it yet.
[00:01:48] Unfortunately with a two-year-old child who is very impressionable,
[00:01:57] I made the fatherly decision to wait and wait till after bedtime to watch it.
[00:02:05] So having got to watch it yet, but you said you did watch an episode in a half.
[00:02:10] I'm reminded that stupid little fair character.
[00:02:14] Let the boy watch.
[00:02:18] Anyway, I did watch kind of quickly watched episode half just to get my feet wet.
[00:02:28] I feet not big and caught myself there.
[00:02:34] For some reason I thought this, the interesting thing,
[00:02:38] just I won't tell you about the release timing.
[00:02:43] Eca was all released at once.
[00:02:45] I feel like the last thing that was on Disney Plus.
[00:02:47] And I can't remember what it was.
[00:02:49] I felt like it was coming out at Quickle midnight on Tuesday nights.
[00:02:54] The first thing I wanted to see morning, but I could watch it on Tuesday.
[00:02:57] So I like a rub, log in Disney Plus last night.
[00:03:01] Okay, watch the trailer.
[00:03:03] Keep hitting refresh refresh.
[00:03:06] Okay, this is not happening.
[00:03:08] So I'm like, you know what?
[00:03:09] It's coming out tomorrow.
[00:03:10] It's fine.
[00:03:11] Get a burly early morning, get up.
[00:03:14] 6 PM.
[00:03:16] Really?
[00:03:18] Yeah, they're trying to get that water cooler talk, right?
[00:03:21] Make that appointment, television kind of thing and.
[00:03:26] They've done it with a couple shows.
[00:03:28] I don't remember how low key season 2 came out.
[00:03:30] I think low key didn't say anything except there was on a different day.
[00:03:33] But it was definitely like.
[00:03:36] It's coming out at a time.
[00:03:39] Yeah, and I mean, I do like it.
[00:03:41] It does, it does increase the hype right?
[00:03:44] And, and I talked about it a little bit when I was.
[00:03:51] Substitute hosting over on Bantha Milk way back when they when andor was coming out.
[00:03:58] And I talked a little bit about it over there because they they also do the same thing with the Star Wars shows.
[00:04:04] And it is kind of fun.
[00:04:08] With the right project you can kind of go, hey, you watch it.
[00:04:12] I know with like house of the dragon on HBO, like all I have friends who I text like that night and I'm like, hey, you watch it.
[00:04:21] Which is kind of it is kind of cool and it does capture.
[00:04:25] I think something that the the networks miss a little bit from from linear television where everybody is sitting in front of their TV at once and it creates this kind of hype.
[00:04:37] That you just don't get when you do the big, you know binge releases or midnight releases, that sort of thing.
[00:04:44] Yeah, I think HBO's the last that they're like the last bastion of premiere.
[00:04:49] Hey, it's Sunday night.
[00:04:51] Let's you know, let's watch a bunch of like pixelated dragons and stuff.
[00:04:57] But I know that I know that I know that I know Disney and other streamers have tried different models, you know, kind of all at once the kind of trips, crabs.
[00:05:08] They'll figure out what works I think.
[00:05:10] I kind of liked the hey we're all watching it at the same time that part's kind of fun.
[00:05:17] And I didn't love the hey we're going to release it at midnight locally.
[00:05:24] And so there's always the, I know, pressure, desperation like I want to see it on the list in a right away and I want to like.
[00:05:31] And then you're up to like one o'clock in the morning like, oh, why did I step to one the morning to watch?
[00:05:35] You know, you know, this, this, you know, Disney plus content but I will say this.
[00:05:44] I watched, I'm also watching to just get a sense for like the vibe.
[00:05:49] Sure. Kind of like the look feel and I'd say the first episode and we'll not spoil anything for anyone.
[00:05:56] Half the episode felt very kind of true detective.
[00:06:01] And there were some kind of, there was kind of funny little nods here.
[00:06:06] There was a funnel wizard of Oz joke in there.
[00:06:08] And you're not real sure what's going on.
[00:06:10] So I like that perspective of like trying to figure out where are we starting from this.
[00:06:17] And then you see some flashback characters that part's kind of fun.
[00:06:22] And it gets, you know, starts to get progressively more witchy.
[00:06:26] It is, um, I think it'll be a little, it'll be a deflebel darker.
[00:06:33] There are, I think, you know, there's some representations show that some people might, you know, fear of perspective being a necessary love.
[00:06:40] But I, you know, so far I've really enjoyed the new members of the cast.
[00:06:47] And I think it'll be good. Like I co-going in, I think I was of the perspective of like, oh, hey, here's the sequel that, here's the, you know, add on show that no one wanted.
[00:06:58] Right, if I were to ask you to go back to wand division.
[00:07:02] Well, like what character would you want to see a show about? You'd be like, oh, Monica Rambo, let's see a photon.
[00:07:08] Nope, not gonna do that. How about Agent Lou? Nope, not gonna do that.
[00:07:13] And he goes through the roll of the actors, like, and he gets to the point where like, oh, it's a coin toss between white vision and Agatha and you're just like, you know what?
[00:07:23] You don't have to work because they both get in a show.
[00:07:27] But, but I like, I, Catherine Han, I think is a delight. I think she's funny. She seems to play a bunch of different characters.
[00:07:37] And so so far, she's look definitely, you know, filling the space and not, pauses great.
[00:07:45] You know, they, you see the merley on and get him won't spoil anything, but it's really a chemistry, it's fun.
[00:07:52] So nice. Yeah, nice. Yeah, they, um, I'm really looking forward to it. I think I was listening to the official Marvel podcast this morning and it was all about Agatha.
[00:08:09] And Catherine Han was talking about how much that cast the chemistry just clicked so well. So I'm really excited for that.
[00:08:17] Yeah. I'm, I'm very, very excited for that for sure. If you haven't seen yet, it may not necessarily hurt to go back or watch one vision again. I don't think you need to.
[00:08:28] But early on, there was like, oh, I remember that person. It's good to see them again. I haven't seen them in four years since pandemic. This is fun.
[00:08:36] That's fair. That's fair. Yeah. And hopefully this sets us up for kind of what I think is going to replace the multiverse.
[00:08:47] And it's kind of stuff which will get to a little bit later in the news, but I think we're probably going to get like mythic supernatural as as the replacement to that side of the MCU.
[00:08:59] And so hopefully this, this kind of lets us dip our toes there and get towards that, which will be kind of exciting. Yeah, great. I think I'm looking forward to it should be early results of far we're good. Nice.
[00:09:13] So you've watched the episode in a half. I've watched nothing. I want to take a minute to speculate wildly. So a couple of things that, you know, we could talk about a little bit and we can we can postulate on first and first is, you know, how much is this going to actually impact the MCU right are we going to see impacts from this reverberate through
[00:09:42] the next few movies is this going to be something that is, you know, maybe cheeky referenced in an Avengers movie somewhere, you know, agatha shows up in the background.
[00:09:54] You know, how how tied into the MCU do you think David, do you think this this show will be?
[00:10:04] It's a good question. I don't think it's going to be some sort of like standalone property. I don't think any of these days very much is other than maybe like what if perhaps.
[00:10:18] So I think it'll tie in.
[00:10:21] It'll be interesting to see the depths that they try to tie it in.
[00:10:26] Like do we see you know, obviously it's very kind of closely tied to one to get white vision in the show will we see a return of either one of those.
[00:10:38] But I definitely think we will see this character beyond this show whether it'll be like a season two.
[00:10:47] I'm not saying maybe not because we haven't seen a lot of sequel series, but I definitely think we'll see her again. What do you think?
[00:10:54] Yeah, I know that there was like some discussion about kind of putting TV in a little bit of a corner like moving moving towards a place where like the TV projects don't impact the movies super heavily.
[00:11:10] And I think to some degree that's needed because dear God having to watch even if you just look at the multiverse saga you're having to watch like half a dozen movies plus another five seasons of TV or something like that.
[00:11:30] Just to catch up to get to where you can watch doomsday, you know, Avengers doomsday here in a couple years.
[00:11:37] And so I think I think that gets to be a lot and I and I so I do think maybe they take kind of the agents of shield approach where the movies impact the show, but the show doesn't impact the movies.
[00:11:57] I thought you're going to say the movies impact the show and then the show is entirely decannionized by Martha.
[00:12:06] I'm with you.
[00:12:07] The show is one of the most we need to get to a point where we could do agents of shield because I every single time I do research on agents of shield.
[00:12:18] I am just reminded of how good it was and I just we we got to get there someday.
[00:12:25] Well, we're turning moves in so we're going to have some free time the thing I will say this.
[00:12:31] The I agree with you.
[00:12:34] I think it's fine to have TV shows that are that are the do not impact the larger MCO they just stand on their own.
[00:12:44] It's like common for crime right it's just yeah.
[00:12:46] Hey, this is a fun come from the last eight issues and that's it there's no other impacts because realistically that's where the animation is now all the animation projects are with the exception of eyes of Wakanda all the animation projects are.
[00:13:00] Essentially not in the MCO right right so I'm will see I think let me ask you this the.
[00:13:10] I do think that it is I do think that Catherine on will show up again I'm sure.
[00:13:16] Without knowing what happens to the rest of the cast that some folks will show up at another show who do you if you're to kind of speculate.
[00:13:26] Like a character that you think will show up in the show what do you think and there are no spoilers yet it's not like yeah you know oh hey it's Hawkeye just showed up.
[00:13:39] Who do you think my show up?
[00:13:42] Yeah I think well I mean the the easy bet is going to be that that scarly which shows up in some capacity.
[00:13:51] Whether it's a ghost of Scarlett which or they resurrect I mean that would be a big swing if they if they resurrect if they officially quote unquote resurrect.
[00:14:03] Scarlett which through this show that would be the antithesis of what I was talking about as far as like.
[00:14:10] Show not impacting the movies right because at this point in the MCU Scarlett which is dead Scarlett which died in multiverse awareness quote unquote never saw body but she died haven't seen it but thank you for that's up.
[00:14:23] You're welcome so so you know I think.
[00:14:31] Yeah I think that would be a big swing if they if they did go for the resurrection there.
[00:14:38] I the actual guests I would have though would be.
[00:14:45] Um Baron Mordo let's let's act okay.
[00:14:48] He deals in the mystic arts he's close enough.
[00:14:54] Okay do you think I'd be down for some Baron Mordo he's been missing for a minute he's he's definitely on the.
[00:15:00] MCU forgot in all stars right.
[00:15:02] Yeah.
[00:15:03] Oh for God in the Sony picture up.
[00:15:05] Sean she always yeah totally.
[00:15:09] I think Scarlett which will almost certainly appear in some way shape or form.
[00:15:16] She could be flashback she could be a spirit she could be.
[00:15:23] Whatever right.
[00:15:26] The one that I that strikes me as.
[00:15:32] Not very likely but I think would be kind of fun.
[00:15:36] Would first one be me fisto.
[00:15:38] Oh sure yeah just because there's so much speculation two reasons one there is so much fanfare speculation so this will be a fun little like.
[00:15:46] Oh yeah we brought me fisto and then too I think.
[00:15:51] Marvel could use like a couple good bad guys.
[00:15:54] So you don't all have to be this galactic you know,
[00:15:59] Kang Dr. Doom kind of like up here.
[00:16:05] Level threat and it can be something above like a king pin.
[00:16:10] So I thought that my fisto would be kind of because you're like,
[00:16:12] Lucette like yeah the street level stuff that's going on.
[00:16:15] You've got the kind of galactic you know universe stuff.
[00:16:18] You've got the mystical stuff which is a little bit more straight level than it is you know.
[00:16:27] Multiverse is that was the first one I thought of.
[00:16:33] And then I don't know maybe we jumped the majors as an upcoming.
[00:16:39] I'm not sure if I thought about that's what I have.
[00:16:41] And you know the job major so being it I think.
[00:16:47] I'm the fisto be my best guess if I had a guess like someone active in the MCU.
[00:16:55] Yeah maybe a monocoranbo could show up.
[00:16:58] Yeah.
[00:17:01] Darcy Darcy somehow.
[00:17:03] God bless Darcy bring her back why not what you doing these days.
[00:17:10] Well it's fair that's fair.
[00:17:12] So yeah that that's agatha definitely check it out it's on Disney plus.
[00:17:18] So go check that out we'll be talking about it in next month I think by the time we record next month.
[00:17:25] It should be completed so we should be able to review the season as a whole.
[00:17:31] We'll see we'll see how recording timelines work out and all that kind of stuff but yeah we should be able to.
[00:17:37] And we'll see if we can get a review at least a good chunk of it if not the whole thing.
[00:17:40] Next month so come back next month for for a more in depth review.
[00:17:45] But for now let's move over in.
[00:17:47] I was I was just gonna say in listener if you don't have Disney plus if you email me or Ryan who will give you our log and credentials.
[00:17:56] I think they're locking that down David.
[00:18:00] Okay alright well that's what can't have nice things never mind to strike that.
[00:18:03] If you if you want to be able to go to court against Disney don't sign up for Disney plus don't go to parks and.
[00:18:14] Read those days and see carefully.
[00:18:16] Oh my god don't just leave God bless anyway.
[00:18:20] Let's get into some Marvel news so first I want to talk about kind of future state of the MC right things that are going to be upcoming.
[00:18:29] We did a lot of talking about all the San Diego Comic Con all the D23 stuff last month on the monthly bugle so if you missed that go check out.
[00:18:43] That episode there is a ton of stuff from those conferences those were the big announcements for the next few years so.
[00:18:52] That's all there but there's been more news they didn't just stop with their big conferences which is kind of cool.
[00:19:02] So earlier this month I believe it was this month I don't think it landed in September maybe end of boggist the MCU or the Marvel did announce that they have signed a director as well as two writers to.
[00:19:19] Spider-Man 4 so Spider-Man 4 got its most substantial update that it's had pretty much period I know that that in this conversation.
[00:20:02] But when I looked him up nothing really stood out to me and then Eric Summers who has written on all the Spider-Man movies so far in the MCU so homecoming no way home far from home.
[00:20:20] He also wrote on and in the wasp which is our next main show movie and he wrote on Lego Batman so definitely has kind of a good background in that like comedic superhero realm.
[00:20:34] And then the director is actually a very interesting pick and and I think there's more here than what's on the surface so on the surface it's destined annual credit and I believe that's how you pronounce his name.
[00:20:51] It is Daniel.
[00:20:52] Oh thank you.
[00:20:54] Daniel.
[00:21:01] Who directed Shanchi in the legend of the 10 rings he is going to be directing Spider-Man 4.
[00:21:10] Now why say there's more here than what's on the surface is because you guys might remember that there's a idea for
[00:21:22] Shanchi to out there right and originally he had actually made a deal to direct to write indirect Shanchi to as well as working on Wonder Man with Marvel.
[00:21:38] So is he he's inked in and see because last week he was like speculated so he's in he's.
[00:21:45] I read I mean so so I read it from the Hollywood Reporter who had it pretty well to fit or pretty definitive now this is early days things could change right and I want to say that right like we're going off the words of decent tablets we're not like going off of you know some crappy.
[00:22:06] I mean he really heavy rumor mag type place you know we are going off decent sources here.
[00:22:17] But yeah so so the interesting thing here is is like I say it he whether he signed or he's.
[00:22:29] He's done look for keys in.
[00:22:32] Yeah it does it does put.
[00:22:37] Shanchi to an interesting place.
[00:22:40] So Shanchi to is not on the slate right now it's nowhere to be seen on like it's not anything that they announced at San Diego Comic Con it's not anything they announced at D23 and they did announce.
[00:22:57] Twoish movies per year for the next I think three years.
[00:23:04] Which could be their full slate for each of those movies or for each of those years.
[00:23:11] That would place probably spider man for sometime in like 20 28.
[00:23:22] I don't it then shanchi to.
[00:23:28] 29.
[00:23:30] No no way.
[00:23:34] I mean and maybe spider man for fits it maybe spider man for ends up in the slate right if spider man for could feasibly.
[00:23:45] The squirrel it's way in like as an in between doomsday and secret or type of movie or something like that like I I could see spider man for being in the that's lot.
[00:23:57] Shanchi to picking up a slot like that though might be a little weird.
[00:24:01] Well we'll say the having looked back I will say that the marvel MC release calendar is very fluid.
[00:24:13] The most they'll do the most of the pump out three movies in the year that's the absolute most they'll do one of my things to do in July and then do one of them the year.
[00:24:21] They might try to slide it in somewhere I don't think they'll make a TV show out of shanchi but.
[00:24:28] It like the rich people kind of forget that you know the original shanchi which came out twenty one so during the middle of the pandemic.
[00:24:37] Made for an thirty million dollars worldwide was the first like Asian lead superhero film.
[00:24:44] I would be surprised if they completely let that they completely fumbled back there like.
[00:24:51] And because at one point in time if you remember the the next era of like the Avengers the the forefront of them see was going to be.
[00:25:01] Captain Marvel Black Panther, Shanchi right that was the that was the traffic that one point on obviously we tragic loss.
[00:25:10] Captain, Boseman.
[00:25:12] You know, shanchi had his one film.
[00:25:15] Captain Marvel had a couple films one was very well received well it's not very well received and those plans have kind of fizzled but.
[00:25:23] I did I'd be surprised if they entirely ponte that'd be a mess like twenty twenty nine.
[00:25:29] Like in and so you know to to keep in mind release late and that's sort of thing right so so right now for twenty twenty five you have.
[00:25:43] Captain America in February.
[00:25:45] You have Thunderbolt's asterisk in May don't say don't say have.
[00:25:53] Fantastic for in July.
[00:25:56] And so I'm not going to say.
[00:25:58] Blades not come out.
[00:26:00] Blades not going to come out we'll talk about blade in a second.
[00:26:03] We'll talk about blade in a second but.
[00:26:07] So so rumored to be in per in like not production but in.
[00:26:14] The works.
[00:26:16] You have a spider man for that we're talking about right now obviously spiderman for.
[00:26:22] Could fit in there somewhere they do only have one movie they have doomsday announced for twenty twenty six and then only one movie.
[00:26:32] In secret wars announced for twenty twenty seven so you have effectively four more slots.
[00:26:40] They might get bold and try and do four movies in a year I don't.
[00:26:45] Spider man would be the one wild card that I would say.
[00:26:47] They might try and do as four because it's got the Sony aspect to it.
[00:26:56] But but yeah I think you know you essentially have four movies that are going to come out in between or like.
[00:27:06] In twenty twenty six and twenty twenty seven.
[00:27:11] Is one of those Sean Cheeto I hope so but I don't know I just.
[00:27:19] Yeah the kind of recent most recent.
[00:27:24] Dip of the Marvel movies cause I could draw in the Jonathan majors issues and the kind of shift.
[00:27:33] In content has really put like a monkey wrench like monkey works anyway monkey answer the works up whatever the expression is and.
[00:27:41] So they're they're zagging as we're talking and they're just trying to like lay the groundwork.
[00:27:45] Okay we're going to fantastic four film out.
[00:27:48] We're going to get these two vendors sell them out.
[00:27:49] We're back up the truck.
[00:27:51] Give Robert and Junior in the Russo's just a ton of money.
[00:27:56] To you know to bring home a couple winners.
[00:28:00] I I think they'll do something with Sean Cheeto I would help that would I think you know it'd be kind of a mess if they did.
[00:28:06] Yeah so and I and I do think.
[00:28:10] You know so one that one that have been rumored but is dead in the water at this point is e-turnals to.
[00:28:20] It has been wiped from the slate.
[00:28:23] I think Kevin fight he talked about it during one of his dead pool pressers.
[00:28:28] So e-turnals to.
[00:28:31] Does that mean to send you to watch the turnals one?
[00:28:34] Yes we still have to watch turnals one because it's it's big giant man is the giant man in the ocean is supposed to be coming back.
[00:28:43] I think he's going to be the source of Adam anti-M or something.
[00:28:50] But yeah I I think you know it's turnals two is off the table.
[00:28:55] Turnals will probably show if somewhere in secret wars or something like that.
[00:29:00] Right.
[00:29:04] On ensemble.
[00:29:06] Effect or the ensemble formula from endgame where they just dump everybody except for you know the Netflix guys and the people from ABC.
[00:29:17] They dump you know everybody else into it.
[00:29:19] I got a wager for you actually what's that just thought of it.
[00:29:24] What comes out first?
[00:29:26] Sean Cheeto or Blade.
[00:29:31] Pick one I'll take.
[00:29:34] Oh man.
[00:29:36] I'm gonna have laid both have committed actors.
[00:29:40] Both I don't think either one has a director has no script.
[00:29:44] Blad at least has a slot.
[00:29:47] Right.
[00:29:48] Is armor wars in that running to now.
[00:29:52] Oh man okay now we need to know what's out here saying what's armor wars.
[00:29:58] I would I would just like to point out that Blade was supposed to be phase six it was supposed to come in February next year and I'm telling you right now like it's not coming up next year.
[00:30:09] It's not gonna happen.
[00:30:11] It's not gonna happen.
[00:30:12] Yeah.
[00:30:17] Well it's speaking of Blade that actually doubles.
[00:30:20] Yeah.
[00:30:21] I think that's really nice.
[00:30:23] I was going to talk a little bit about Blade so.
[00:30:28] During the dead pool pressers Kevin Fige did say Blade is a tough one to crack he try he kind of blocked that question a little bit he did say it will likely be our rate it if it comes out.
[00:30:44] The last rumored release date we had was was November 7th, 2025 I.
[00:30:50] It did not come up at San Diego, come a con it did not come up at.
[00:31:00] D23 23 and and in dead pool, Blade said there will only be one blade so.
[00:31:08] Wow it's entirely come to do it's been like yeah.
[00:31:13] I think I want to say it was like 2019 when he was first attached to the project and while I love Marshalee he's now 50 and now I don't.
[00:31:26] True saw was his knife as a 60 something I'm guessing.
[00:31:31] Lip seront is Blade in the Deadpool movie spoiler from was nothing Deadpool yet but I know man like at some point in time you're just okay this is now it's going to be like.
[00:31:46] It's it's sad to cause I think that like it could have been really good i don't think it's that hard to do i don't think it's like a humongous budget.
[00:31:53] It sounds like the prior project was very problematic in terms of like,
[00:32:00] lots of ideas for scripts, lots of, you know.
[00:32:06] And for whatever reason, Blades just seemed to be this kind of weird franchise.
[00:32:12] Like the first ones were very well received and then it seems to me from a content perspective.
[00:32:18] Stop them, you know, you don't have to have like a huge cast.
[00:32:23] You can do it pretty inexpensively and make a bowload of money.
[00:32:27] It could be violin as hell.
[00:32:30] It will earn the arraiding people will watch it one day.
[00:32:34] Yeah.
[00:32:35] Yeah.
[00:32:35] And that's what bowdomayo who,
[00:32:41] Boyle Boy has he had a time on the website formerly known as Twitter.
[00:32:49] But one of the things he brought up,
[00:32:51] I was reading through that was like some of his pitches for Blades.
[00:32:57] And that you know, the,
[00:33:00] The, the budget could be pretty low, right?
[00:33:04] You do it on like, I think he called it like a John Wick budget, right?
[00:33:08] John Wick costs about 40 million to make.
[00:33:11] Toss another 10 million in for some VFX because it's marble.
[00:33:15] You got a 50 million dollar movie that you make, you know,
[00:33:21] and people go and eat up.
[00:33:23] It'd be great.
[00:33:24] And I think it'd be a winner.
[00:33:25] And I think that's,
[00:33:27] I just don't know why marble doesn't take that kind of super low risk.
[00:33:33] That's like no risk.
[00:33:34] You're not, you're not spending a hundred million dollars on,
[00:33:40] you know,
[00:33:41] I don't even remember what the budget was for like something like the marbles,
[00:33:45] which I love.
[00:33:46] I love the marbles,
[00:33:47] but you know, theoretically it was a flop.
[00:33:51] The, um, just, I haven't handy.
[00:33:54] The budget was 274.8 million dollars.
[00:33:59] Yeah, that's why they,
[00:34:01] I think,
[00:34:02] I think that's what's so exciting.
[00:34:03] Like we talked about Agatha introducing the magic side and the,
[00:34:07] magical mystical side of the MCU.
[00:34:10] And I think the supernatural side of that can be pretty low budget
[00:34:15] and can do some pretty cool things.
[00:34:17] We saw that with,
[00:34:19] ah, we're old by night, right?
[00:34:22] I can't imagine the we're old by night had a massive budget.
[00:34:27] and so like do do stuff like that have have some fun with like those sort of projects.
[00:34:33] And do that with blade,
[00:34:36] you've played that kind of treatment.
[00:34:39] you could even do that with,
[00:34:41] you could do something with like,
[00:34:46] Luke Cage,
[00:34:49] um,
[00:34:50] which is that's not magical,
[00:34:51] but, um,
[00:34:52] you know, same sort of idea.
[00:34:55] Even even some of the times where
[00:34:57] where Daredevil gets a little bit more mystical and deals with like the literal devil and stuff.
[00:35:03] You know, that those sort of things bringing those to screen are going to,
[00:35:07] you're going to get people to watch it.
[00:35:09] And I do wish that they would go that direction more frequently.
[00:35:13] Uh, a couple things one,
[00:35:15] completely agree like,
[00:35:18] Marvel comic comics themselves just go in weird directions.
[00:35:22] And you could have some movies that are like,
[00:35:25] big budget, big blockbusters,
[00:35:27] not every MCU movie has to be
[00:35:30] a game in front of the world.
[00:35:34] And the other thing,
[00:35:36] I got distracted and I was looking at the most expensive Marvel movies ever.
[00:35:39] It's number four,
[00:35:40] Marvel's was number four.
[00:35:43] now those,
[00:35:43] it's not account for it.
[00:35:44] We can't count it for like inflation or anything,
[00:35:48] but,
[00:35:48] uh,
[00:35:49] cost like $50 million for the Avengers.
[00:35:52] The Avengers made like,
[00:35:54] billion and half.
[00:35:55] Anyway,
[00:35:56] I had it,
[00:35:56] so I do hope they make a blade.
[00:35:59] It's not that hot.
[00:36:00] It don't think the performance at difficult.
[00:36:02] Just out.
[00:36:05] Um,
[00:36:06] did you want to talk any more about a boat of miles,
[00:36:08] other tweets or anything like that?
[00:36:10] I mean really quick.
[00:36:11] So,
[00:36:12] boat of miles was the creative.
[00:36:13] He was one of the lead writer for X-Men 97.
[00:36:19] He was fired towards,
[00:36:21] during I think the release of it.
[00:36:24] Had his writing credits stripped,
[00:36:25] if I remember correctly from X-Men 97,
[00:36:27] then season two,
[00:36:30] you know what awards was.
[00:36:31] It mentioned and it's been this big.
[00:36:33] I think there's been a pretty big dispute.
[00:36:36] He feels like he was wrongfully terminated.
[00:36:38] I think for,
[00:36:39] he asserts he was fired for,
[00:36:42] posing,
[00:36:47] like gay-related tweets during like Pride Month.
[00:36:49] Marvel says no,
[00:36:51] you actually fired February,
[00:36:52] that was well before Pride Month.
[00:36:54] And so,
[00:36:54] it's been this back and forth.
[00:36:55] Both of my eyes not.
[00:36:58] So all,
[00:37:00] Marvel,
[00:37:01] talent,
[00:37:02] writers, directors,
[00:37:04] actors, etc.
[00:37:05] They all sign NDAs, right?
[00:37:07] And that's supposed to announce anything.
[00:37:09] And Lishardame is top-hallened.
[00:37:11] You don't disclose anything.
[00:37:12] You just shut your mouth, right?
[00:37:14] You just, you know,
[00:37:16] let's stuff right out.
[00:37:17] But he's been very vocal.
[00:37:19] He's,
[00:37:19] as you mentioned,
[00:37:20] just a minute ago,
[00:37:20] he talked about like his,
[00:37:22] you know,
[00:37:22] pitch concepts for Blade.
[00:37:24] He's talked about like,
[00:37:26] other concepts that were kicked around
[00:37:28] for other movies.
[00:37:29] I just saw something today where he was talking about.
[00:37:31] I can't remember what it was for.
[00:37:32] I'd been for Love and Thunder.
[00:37:35] And he was like,
[00:37:35] oh yeah,
[00:37:36] there's a script idea.
[00:37:36] It was considered for this.
[00:37:38] And so,
[00:37:40] the question is why?
[00:37:42] Why keep talking?
[00:37:46] I,
[00:37:47] the only thing which makes sense to me,
[00:37:51] is being,
[00:37:53] that him being kind of,
[00:37:55] first of all,
[00:37:56] he's never going to work for Marvel again.
[00:37:58] And, and that,
[00:38:01] that bridge has,
[00:38:02] that should have shailed.
[00:38:05] I get the sense it's this weird.
[00:38:08] I am just going to,
[00:38:10] you know,
[00:38:11] out Marvel secrets until you give me enough money to shut up.
[00:38:14] That's the only thing which makes sense to me.
[00:38:17] I would not,
[00:38:19] if I said anyone to do it this way,
[00:38:21] because Marvel's got a lot of money.
[00:38:23] And you have to work at some point in time in the future.
[00:38:26] I think he's really talented,
[00:38:28] but like,
[00:38:28] you just don't want to get,
[00:38:30] you know,
[00:38:33] you just don't want to get marked in Hollywood
[00:38:35] as being like difficult to work with, right?
[00:38:38] It's not great.
[00:38:38] I was hit as folks.
[00:38:40] Everything about suing your current employer
[00:38:42] doesn't look great for your future employers.
[00:38:46] I don't know.
[00:38:49] It's been messy.
[00:38:50] Also that.
[00:38:51] It has been messy.
[00:38:53] Some of his secrets that he's supposedly out
[00:38:58] at are things like,
[00:39:01] blade being dead in the water.
[00:39:04] There was another specific project that he mentioned
[00:39:07] that I don't remember what it was
[00:39:09] that he claims to know it's dead in the water.
[00:39:13] Yeah, he's just running a smile.
[00:39:15] Right?
[00:39:17] And again, I don't know the guy.
[00:39:18] I don't know Marvel.
[00:39:19] Like, I'm not saying either one is like,
[00:39:21] could guy or bad person or right?
[00:39:23] I just, he's been very,
[00:39:26] very, very vocal.
[00:39:29] Yeah.
[00:39:30] For sure.
[00:39:32] Just a couple of scraps that we missed last month
[00:39:35] because we were too busy talking about D23
[00:39:38] and talking about San Diego Comic-Con and Deadpool.
[00:39:43] A couple of things that came out during the Deadpool press
[00:39:47] junkets that I just wanted to note here shortly.
[00:39:51] One is that Nova,
[00:39:53] so there's a TV show that is in the works
[00:39:58] for the character Nova.
[00:40:00] Specifically Richard Reiter is his name.
[00:40:07] I actually want,
[00:40:07] happened to watch this presser when Kevin Feige talked about that.
[00:40:12] You know, the guy from ComicBook.com
[00:40:17] was really excited about Nova
[00:40:19] and Feige's like, yes, we're doing it.
[00:40:23] Don't you worry, like it's three to four years out.
[00:40:27] Nova is kind of the,
[00:40:30] he's a member of the Nova core.
[00:40:32] He can wield Nova Force,
[00:40:34] which is this, you know,
[00:40:36] big powerful, all-powerful type of force.
[00:40:38] So kind of a superhuman cool kind of character.
[00:40:42] So excited for that one.
[00:40:46] They also mentioned during a,
[00:40:49] during prior to the junket
[00:40:51] that there will be a,
[00:40:53] they're actively working on a special,
[00:40:58] new special presentation,
[00:41:00] which, that's like,
[00:41:05] the Guardians Christmas Special and where we'll find
[00:41:07] those are the special presentations.
[00:41:10] Not quite a movie, not quite a TV show,
[00:41:11] but something in between.
[00:41:14] They're working on something like that
[00:41:17] for sometime in 2026.
[00:41:23] Maybe that's where we got our song,
[00:41:24] Chey.
[00:41:26] Yeah,
[00:41:26] Sean Chey Halloween, right?
[00:41:28] Good.
[00:41:30] Goodness.
[00:41:31] If you funny if they kept doing it with holidays,
[00:41:33] like, what's left?
[00:41:34] Like a summer vacation flick or something.
[00:41:39] If you're talking about holiday,
[00:41:40] yeah, you do,
[00:41:42] I mean,
[00:41:42] I know I'm just envisioning like John Hughes films
[00:41:45] envisioned,
[00:41:46] but with like MCU characters.
[00:41:49] I'm thinking of holiday vacation.
[00:41:51] I'm just like,
[00:41:52] oh man,
[00:41:53] it's fit to feed,
[00:41:54] nothing we proud of for us.
[00:41:56] It's fit.
[00:41:59] Yeah,
[00:41:59] because they've done a Christmas,
[00:42:01] they've done Halloween.
[00:42:02] So what other holidays and what characters
[00:42:05] are going to do it?
[00:42:08] Valentine's Day might be hard to pull off.
[00:42:11] I'm just going to be envisioning and wanting us.
[00:42:15] Let's see,
[00:42:16] start meeting New Year's Eve,
[00:42:17] you have New Year's,
[00:42:18] you've got President's Day,
[00:42:21] you've got MLK Day,
[00:42:24] you've got,
[00:42:25] actually,
[00:42:27] New Year's with Lunar New Year's,
[00:42:30] oh,
[00:42:31] oh,
[00:42:31] you've got New Year's,
[00:42:31] yeah,
[00:42:31] they've got regular New Year's with the Fantastic Four in the 60's.
[00:42:35] Like that?
[00:42:36] Sure.
[00:42:36] I'd be fun, right?
[00:42:38] I will say this.
[00:42:39] I read Nova comic books years ago and enjoy the character.
[00:42:44] I will say that
[00:42:48] if the MCU produces a Nova TV series before an X-Men movie,
[00:42:54] I might have to resign from the podcast.
[00:42:57] I'm just saying,
[00:42:58] let's get a part together.
[00:43:01] sure, Nova,
[00:43:02] it's fine,
[00:43:03] whatever,
[00:43:04] wide vision,
[00:43:05] bringing on.
[00:43:07] Can we get
[00:43:08] it's an X-Men anyway?
[00:43:10] Well,
[00:43:11] we might be getting some X-Men,
[00:43:12] which that actually,
[00:43:14] I'm jumping around a little bit in the notes here,
[00:43:16] David,
[00:43:16] I apologize,
[00:43:17] but I'm pulling a little bit of an audible here.
[00:43:21] So,
[00:43:21] the,
[00:43:23] speaking of X-Men that makes me,
[00:43:25] I think about kind of the saga that we have heard about.
[00:43:29] And something that was announced during the pressers of,
[00:43:34] for Deadpool,
[00:43:35] and then has been backed up further as we have continued past Deadpool,
[00:43:40] is the introduction of the mutant saga,
[00:43:42] which will be our next saga.
[00:43:45] So earlier,
[00:43:46] I think it was earlier this month in September,
[00:43:49] there was,
[00:43:50] you know,
[00:43:51] further press that said,
[00:43:52] okay,
[00:43:54] secret wars will be the end of this,
[00:43:56] the multiverse saga.
[00:43:57] Surprising,
[00:43:58] absolutely no one.
[00:44:01] Disappointing me,
[00:44:02] but surprising no one.
[00:44:04] So,
[00:44:05] you know,
[00:44:06] the multiverse is going to
[00:44:07] close up in secret wars.
[00:44:10] I've already talked about how I think that's going to happen.
[00:44:13] I think everything's going to collapse,
[00:44:14] and they're going to follow actually the comic books of secret wars pretty closely.
[00:44:21] But then when we come back from secret wars,
[00:44:23] we will be in the mutant saga,
[00:44:26] which is kind of exciting.
[00:44:29] Now,
[00:44:30] Fiky did go and say like Deadpool and Wolverine kick off the mutant saga,
[00:44:35] and then Sean Levy was like,
[00:44:37] no,
[00:44:37] I just wanted to make a Marvel movie,
[00:44:39] but I didn't want to be part of like a saga,
[00:44:42] so piss off.
[00:44:47] But,
[00:44:48] in short,
[00:44:49] you know,
[00:44:51] essentially the way it's looking like it's going to come out is we're going to get through secret wars
[00:44:55] and then we're going to come back to mutants,
[00:44:57] which is exciting.
[00:44:58] Mutants have a lot of facets, right?
[00:45:00] You can do X-Men stuff,
[00:45:02] you can do runaway stuff,
[00:45:04] you can do some of the more supernatural stuff that we keep harping on,
[00:45:10] There's a lot of mutants that have tie-ins with the supernatural,
[00:45:14] and so you can do stuff there.
[00:45:17] Stuff in space,
[00:45:19] like yeah,
[00:45:21] totally.
[00:45:22] Stuff in Antarctica,
[00:45:23] in the savage land,
[00:45:25] dinosaurs and stuff.
[00:45:26] I'd love that run.
[00:45:28] It was great.
[00:45:29] I actually hope that they do,
[00:45:31] like,
[00:45:34] I think that's like,
[00:45:37] could be a really cool untapped resource for Marvel right now,
[00:45:41] and it's like doing stuff in the savage land, right?
[00:45:44] And doing stuff with dinosaurs and a little bit more primal pieces for,
[00:45:52] the MCU.
[00:45:54] So you're thinking like X-Men dress park,
[00:45:57] where you've started Lord already,
[00:45:59] right? Just kind of put on the cargo.
[00:46:01] Yeah, I mean,
[00:46:02] although he's not,
[00:46:04] now it's black widow in Jurassic Park.
[00:46:08] Wait, what?
[00:46:08] Yeah, they're reboot.
[00:46:13] They're resetting the,
[00:46:14] like cast of Jurassic Park again.
[00:46:18] It's Scarlett Johansson is one of the leads in it.
[00:46:21] Oh no.
[00:46:22] And that's like it.
[00:46:25] Oh universal, you're doing silly things.
[00:46:28] Oh Scarlett.
[00:46:31] But what are you doing?
[00:46:33] But yeah, so yeah,
[00:46:35] we get the mutant saga,
[00:46:36] which I'm excited for, I think it is weird.
[00:46:40] I don't love like
[00:46:42] these 10 movies are gonna be about mutants and then what?
[00:46:46] You're gonna house of Emmett and
[00:46:50] for those who don't know the house of Emm series ends with Scarlett,
[00:46:55] which saying no more mutants and all the mutants,
[00:46:59] ceasing to be mutants,
[00:47:01] they all go revert to being humans.
[00:47:06] I don't love doing mutants that way.
[00:47:10] I don't think they will.
[00:47:11] They're not going to do that.
[00:47:12] They're not,
[00:47:12] they spent way too much money.
[00:47:15] Right, they're gonna,
[00:47:15] they're gonna do,
[00:47:18] which 20 century fox did.
[00:47:20] And then, or actually,
[00:47:21] I think Sony might be a better example.
[00:47:24] I mean, they're ringing every character.
[00:47:26] They can't out of,
[00:47:28] it's about, no I'm serious, like they're,
[00:47:29] Oh yeah, no.
[00:47:30] Did Venom, they're doing Craven,
[00:47:31] like I'm sure they've got a Doc Ock stand-alone moving planned,
[00:47:37] right? Like my,
[00:47:38] make as many as possible.
[00:47:40] And you could do so much,
[00:47:43] so I mean,
[00:47:44] I mean, I thought you went there.
[00:47:45] I'm so happy to be just X men films,
[00:47:46] but there's a lot of content you do there.
[00:47:48] I don't,
[00:47:48] they're gonna do house and thing.
[00:47:49] I'd be really surprised that did that.
[00:47:52] But we'll say,
[00:47:53] and for those who haven't read comics,
[00:47:56] the way the comics kind of play out,
[00:47:58] pretty frequently is you could almost read
[00:48:01] as two separate universes.
[00:48:02] You could read like essentially an X men universe.
[00:48:06] There's a ton of different, you know,
[00:48:07] solo books,
[00:48:09] plus team books and multiple team books,
[00:48:12] and all kinds of stuff that you could almost just read X men stuff,
[00:48:18] or you could read Avengers stuff, right?
[00:48:20] And you could,
[00:48:21] you could have a full slate of reading
[00:48:23] in either of those worlds
[00:48:25] and a full understanding of what's going on
[00:48:29] and they're almost their own universes.
[00:48:31] And so,
[00:48:31] yeah,
[00:48:32] it is,
[00:48:34] I do hope that like
[00:48:36] the saga after the mutant saga is the mixed saga,
[00:48:41] or something like that?
[00:48:42] I don't know what they're gonna call it.
[00:48:44] But I,
[00:48:46] I would hate to see
[00:48:49] mutants be
[00:48:51] kept to just
[00:48:53] three phases and then they're done,
[00:48:55] which that also,
[00:48:57] you know,
[00:48:57] I should also say
[00:48:59] as big of a nerd as we are.
[00:49:02] I do recognize
[00:49:03] we are talking about
[00:49:05] movies that will be coming out in like
[00:49:09] thirty years from now.
[00:49:12] I don't even know what you're saying.
[00:49:13] I know,
[00:49:15] but, you know,
[00:49:22] ten year saga of mutants stuff,
[00:49:26] and then,
[00:49:27] we get on to whatever.
[00:49:28] But I,
[00:49:29] you know,
[00:49:30] I do want to mention that like
[00:49:31] I get more speculating way out.
[00:49:33] And there may not even be
[00:49:35] an MCU at that point.
[00:49:36] Do you know how much,
[00:49:37] do you know how much Marl paid for
[00:49:41] the Fox Probs,
[00:49:43] obviously more than just,
[00:49:45] you know,
[00:49:46] the Marvel,
[00:49:47] the, you know,
[00:49:47] the Blison stuff,
[00:49:49] but for all the Fox properties together?
[00:49:52] I was like a Billy.
[00:49:55] 71 billion.
[00:49:56] Oh, man.
[00:49:57] Yeah.
[00:49:58] They are going to milk that cow.
[00:50:01] Like I guarantee you.
[00:50:04] who saw beasts at the end of the marbles?
[00:50:07] They will bring them in.
[00:50:09] I think they will be TV shows.
[00:50:10] You appearance when they'll be.
[00:50:14] They'll be.
[00:50:15] They'll be in a lot of stuff.
[00:50:17] I don't think they're going to kill them off any time soon.
[00:50:19] I think the challenge will be,
[00:50:21] they're, they're such a love for like you Jackman is Wolverine
[00:50:26] as round stead pool.
[00:50:28] The Deadpool's not really,
[00:50:29] you don't really know X men,
[00:50:31] but like,
[00:50:32] how you go about recasting the characters
[00:50:35] and then like how quickly can you crank out content?
[00:50:40] Like you can't,
[00:50:42] you,
[00:50:42] it's great that you Jackman's in it.
[00:50:44] But like he's going to have to give up the men to someone else
[00:50:46] in the past and they have to just leave their soul.
[00:50:51] That's a stupid,
[00:50:52] I will say.
[00:50:53] I'm excited for it, so.
[00:50:55] Yeah.
[00:50:56] People are certainly loving Deadpool and Wolverine.
[00:51:01] what is it at right now?
[00:51:03] What's it?
[00:51:04] It's current world wide gross?
[00:51:06] So it came out July from the macroe,
[00:51:10] recording this one two months later,
[00:51:14] It is made $1.3 billion.
[00:51:21] It is right behind Black Panther, which made a little bit like 30 billion more and ahead
[00:51:29] of Iron Man 3, which made 1.2 billion.
[00:51:33] It is the number 7 MC film of all time.
[00:51:36] So when you look at how the marbles did and how desperate they were like, you know what?
[00:51:41] We are going to push this baby to the front of the slate.
[00:51:45] And Sean Levy, not yourself out, do whatever you want.
[00:51:49] Hey, you make this, you can make the next two of Andrews movies.
[00:51:52] Well, maybe not so much.
[00:51:53] We'll bring the burrosos.
[00:51:54] But that may not twice so crappy about introduced mutants.
[00:51:58] It will be arriving at Disney+.
[00:52:01] In two weeks, October 1.
[00:52:05] Now let me ask you this.
[00:52:06] Can you have a given you the number 6 film, Black Panther?
[00:52:10] Can you name the top five money earners in the MCU all time?
[00:52:20] Oh, let's see.
[00:52:23] So end game number 1, 2.8 billion.
[00:52:27] Infinity War number 2, 2 basically 2 billion.
[00:52:37] Ah...
[00:52:38] No way home.
[00:52:40] Number 3, 1.9 billion.
[00:52:43] Wow.
[00:52:43] I did not think I was going to be that, uh...
[00:52:47] That order to about it.
[00:52:50] Um...
[00:52:53] Let's see...
[00:52:55] A vendor...
[00:52:56] Marbles the Avengers.
[00:52:58] Number 4, 1.5 billion dollars.
[00:53:06] Uh... this is where it gets hard.
[00:53:08] Uh... Civil War?
[00:53:10] Nope.
[00:53:10] That was number 8.
[00:53:12] Number 6, Black Panther number 7.
[00:53:16] Well, number 8 now is Iron Man.
[00:53:17] Number 9, Civil War.
[00:53:24] Huh...
[00:53:25] Uh...
[00:53:25] What are the...
[00:53:26] There are...
[00:53:27] They're the common theme of the top.
[00:53:31] Three movies of all time.
[00:53:32] Is it Ultron?
[00:53:33] Yeah.
[00:53:35] Number 5, 1.4 billion.
[00:53:39] And then number 6...
[00:53:41] Black Panther?
[00:53:42] Oh yeah, you said.
[00:53:43] Black Panther then...
[00:53:45] Dent pool, brain, then...
[00:53:47] Iron Man 3.
[00:53:50] So...
[00:53:50] Now you know why they want to make a bunch of
[00:53:52] adventure movies.
[00:53:54] All right, I think we're just like...
[00:53:55] Put Avengers anything.
[00:53:58] You feel like hey.
[00:53:59] Let's come in head next year.
[00:54:01] Avengers, Skibdi, Twilight, like yes.
[00:54:05] Billion dollars.
[00:54:07] Oh yeah.
[00:54:08] Let's make this.
[00:54:09] That's for you.
[00:54:10] That's for you down.
[00:54:10] Hopefully they make it for you.
[00:54:12] You're welcome, Dan.
[00:54:13] I know you don't listen but you're welcome.
[00:54:15] Um...
[00:54:16] So yeah, so it'll be um...
[00:54:19] Yeah and so...
[00:54:19] You want to quick update based on the live update of how much money it's made
[00:54:26] on how much you need venom and craving to each make?
[00:54:31] Sure.
[00:54:34] So uh...
[00:54:35] For those who don't know, David and I have a yearly wager.
[00:54:40] And I'm debating on how...
[00:54:43] How we want to do this next year.
[00:54:45] But we'll figure that out.
[00:54:47] Maybe next year I don't give you the easy choice and like stick to Apple wall
[00:54:51] take care of it.
[00:54:51] To get another crappy Martin movies that are coming out in
[00:54:54] Twins anyway.
[00:54:55] To be fair, to be fair, I thought I was giving you
[00:54:59] Into the Spider-Verse which...
[00:55:02] By the way for those who missed the Into the Spider-Verse drama this last
[00:55:06] couple weeks, uh there was like a rumor site that posted
[00:55:09] that it was going to be delayed in 2017.
[00:55:12] That's wild!
[00:55:14] And then uh the writer came out um...
[00:55:18] Chris Miller came out and was like no, it's not delayed.
[00:55:22] I'm working on it.
[00:55:23] It should be out uh I think he he didn't give a date but he said
[00:55:28] 27 is not right.
[00:55:30] It's not 27.
[00:55:32] So so okay okay again that's a to uh
[00:55:35] Devert too much here but like you
[00:55:40] My understanding is you had two movies kind of back to back.
[00:55:44] I don't want to say ready to go but like
[00:55:47] You're at the part A
[00:55:49] Here's part B now unless you're pulling like a George R. Martin and you're just sleeping
[00:55:54] like I'm too I'm too busy going to Comic-Con still like right the rest of the
[00:55:59] you know the the Game of Thrones books um
[00:56:02] I don't I don't I don't I don't get why it's that long.
[00:56:05] That's me as a wild.
[00:56:07] Yeah it's it's pretty crazy I I don't know
[00:56:10] What Lord and Miller are working on but they're working on something
[00:56:16] so but for those who who did see the first part of that news where the uh it was a
[00:56:22] pretty reputable rumor site that tends to have pretty good news information
[00:56:27] They did they said 2027 and they said it was because the whole thing had been scrapped and they were
[00:56:33] going back to square one and all this stuff and Miller basically came out was like no I
[00:56:39] I'm working on this don't square one square one right you're you square oneing a part two come on
[00:56:49] um yeah so so our bet here is that we put out at the beginning of the year was
[00:56:56] basically it originated as David gets the two best Sony projects two best Sony Marvel projects
[00:57:07] if they added together to make more than Deadpool
[00:57:13] David we get to pick a movie that we watch after the saga break
[00:57:21] if
[00:57:24] if I won if Deadpool made more money I would get to pick a movie that we watched after the saga break
[00:57:33] as the year has gone on
[00:57:35] we've made some modifications to this deal so I did give after Madame Webb made a whopping $100
[00:57:43] million and David punished himself by watching it I gave him all three
[00:57:54] Sony Marvel projects so he'll get Madame Webb with its stellar turnout he'll get
[00:58:02] venom last dance which actually had a pretty good trailer this last week pretty good you know
[00:58:08] null is gonna be in it which is really exciting for a lot of our venom heads out there
[00:58:14] it actually looks pretty good the thumbnail they chose for was awful it looks like a video game
[00:58:19] CGI but she's its christ here we are and then Craven the Hunter which is you know our return of
[00:58:32] quicksover Aaron Taylor Johnson playing Craven the Hunter and that's actually funny I didn't
[00:58:41] even think about that because I think it's Russell Crowe's playing his dad
[00:58:45] yep it's Kurt so it'll be uh...
[00:58:49] Zeus and
[00:58:53] and uh... quicksover this people are cheap
[00:58:56] yeah but but yeah so Craven the Hunter should come out later this year I think it comes out
[00:59:02] into summers alright it comes out i think like first or second week of December uh i remember
[00:59:09] there was a denim to our trade which was in the event that Craven the Hunter does not stick around
[00:59:17] it like if it doesn't finish its season at twenty twenty five
[00:59:21] I would get that this was like an option to refer to the get to i've read the language is
[00:59:26] very complex but basically i get inside out too
[00:59:30] and then that's owned but those rights only refer in the unlikely circumstance where Craven does
[00:59:37] not make one point six billion dollars anyway so but yeah so so and then because David actually
[00:59:45] was better than me at guessing what was going to happen in Deadpool he also got the top grossing
[00:59:51] Sony project of the year which right now is bad boys writer die four hundred and three
[00:59:56] billion dollars uh that could change throughout the year there there may be more or there may
[01:00:02] be higher grossing Sony projects will see um it's this is a man who's gonna be wiped
[01:00:08] wiped out with all that being said to top the 1.3 billion that Deadpool and Wolverine have
[01:00:16] you need on average venom and Craven to each make four hundred million dollars okay yeah 400 million
[01:00:25] okay i would i would also like to look at the fun rules next time because I thought i didn't
[01:00:30] know that we were doing like popular vote wins that that we're doing like an electoral college
[01:00:36] like anyway it's fine and i will say you ask a question on our social media so if you guys want
[01:00:42] to heads up on some of these things go check out our social media but David asked a good question
[01:00:47] of hey what you know Craven comes out in the last month of year what's going on?
[01:00:53] what i want to propose to you and i can do this through Excel don't you worry about the math
[01:00:57] is i want to give you the same i want to assume for the same
[01:01:03] like rate of decay as that doesn't don't that's your self man like it's not just like
[01:01:10] i don't think we week by week however whatever percentage of the opening venom makes each week
[01:01:16] i'll give you the same thing for Craven so it's something you say to say hey December 31st
[01:01:21] there's a winner and we'll do like some sort of pro-rata thing i think in fairness i think
[01:01:27] if Craven isn't a steamy turd the fact it's coming out of Christmas time during the holiday
[01:01:34] time i think gives it an unnatural bump so that might skew things a bit but we can you know
[01:01:40] you know we'll do we'll bring in our accounts we'll let them find that's fine yeah you know
[01:01:45] and honestly this all comes down to who gets to pick a movie and if we have if we feel like
[01:01:52] you know the the rate of decay doesn't make sense or whatever we can we can even put it off
[01:01:58] we can figure it out you know in February when we're getting past the end of the saga where we're
[01:02:04] actually going to have to pick are we going to watch Tokyo Drifter are we going to watch last
[01:02:07] crusade i didn't say really last crusade i'm not being a movie i'm not talking to a
[01:02:22] watch something yeah so yeah yeah you gotta you gotta hope for them to be i would say they're
[01:02:30] going to have to punch above their white class to get to 400 million if you don't look
[01:02:33] it's going to happen but fingers crossed so we don't do we don't have any trailers we don't
[01:02:41] we've got agatha out i think we've seen a couple trailers for the new Captain America film
[01:02:49] that yeah and there is a pretty cool like 85 years of marvel video that they released a few
[01:02:57] a few weeks ago it's got some of the comicon and d23 footage like that they only showed in the room so
[01:03:04] it's like a split second so 2.25, 0.25 guy probably 2.25 guys we're all over it
[01:03:12] it's all I should but yeah but there is something kind of cool and i think David you got to see
[01:03:21] some of this right you got to see some of the stuff in the park with Deadpool i did i did when we
[01:03:30] when i was last in the park they had the i've been actually pretty lucky the couple times i've
[01:03:37] got to see Rogers the musical which was awesome and then i got to see the Deadpool and Wolverine
[01:03:46] story time both in the same area kind of the dead area of the park that's in like Hollywood
[01:03:50] area Hollywood lounge not what's called Hollywood land yeah it's on Hollywood students that's
[01:03:57] a death cot or that's Florida but it was fun it was entertaining somebody i saw a video of
[01:04:07] you know and it's very interactive it's very kind of little tongue and cheek you know
[01:04:13] not just for little kids pretty funny i enjoyed it there are a ton of videos you can see them go
[01:04:20] to the whole thing so that was good time yeah Deadpool so Deadpool's in in Disney California
[01:04:27] adventure and he does he does that story time and then he also does he joins into the dance off
[01:04:34] with the Guardians of the Galaxy just kind of fun i've seen a few videos of that and i know he also
[01:04:40] does the like main fight show up on the um the like Avengers facade area where is that it's like
[01:04:53] the beat oh the top yeah yeah on the big the the the the the the the current the i never
[01:05:02] time with the Avengers one eventually behind it will be the eater at eatic it yep i never
[01:05:07] thought about yeah that's the one that features a lot of dead Avengers i got it yeah yeah yeah well
[01:05:15] David i think we've covered the news is there any other news anything else you wanted to
[01:05:21] get out there to the good people no just a September we will wish a happy birthday to uh
[01:05:29] Hongshi we talked about earlier it was released September 23 2021 i think that might have been
[01:05:37] i had to go back a look was that the only movie there was released in 2021 um i think it lack of
[01:05:44] widow um it was oh spider-man know it helm December yeah that movie did pretty well it's pandemic whenever
[01:06:01] we need the mask um oh it turn-olds November 2021 blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
[01:06:10] yeah so that's it for that year so and we're actually getting pretty close to that that section of
[01:06:16] the MCU as well so uh on our next main show we will be covering Antman in the wasp we're kind of in
[01:06:23] Avengers armpit right now and we are between Avengers Infinity War so we just did Avengers
[01:06:31] Infinity War go listen to those episodes they were great they were with Eric go listen to those and then
[01:06:38] coming out next month in the first Tuesday in October you will get Antman in the wasp
[01:06:46] and then first Tuesday in November you're gonna get uh Captain Marvel and first Tuesday in December
