[00:00:00] What's up David? How are we doing this evening? I'm doing pretty well, man. Like it's been a minute. There's been some... There was evidently I've heard there's a Marvel movie coming out pretty soon.

[00:00:18] I realized I forgot to say be part that's really important for any podcast where people realize what podcast they're listening to. Welcome to Puny Pod's Monthly Bugle for July 2024. My name is Ryan and the guy who I already referred to is David.

[00:00:35] We're all out of sorts. It's the week we have seven sleeps before Deadpool. Seven sleeps. By the way, I don't know, like the heat wave has passed here as it's still a thousand degrees where you are.

[00:00:47] It's pretty warm still. It's cool and off a little bit. It's not quite up in the hundreds, but we're still... We're still riding in the 90s during the day, which is... Yeah. We'll blend that temporary blip on heat dementia.

[00:01:05] There we go. I don't think it's the same, but I made it up. Anyway. Yeah. Just like space dementia. Space Matt. You have space madness. Yeah. Folks, so you are tuned into Puny Pod's Monthly Bugle. This is our news show.

[00:01:23] In our main show we cover Marvel movies from years ago. Here we cover the news of today and the current content. There's no current content for us this week. Next week we'll have Deadpool to go off of, but not this week. We're... We're...

[00:01:43] No, I don't want to say in a content drought. Like we just came off of some good stuff and we're really excited about Deadpool. That's actually probably going to be the majority of what we talk about tonight.

[00:01:58] But yeah. I guess just to break into a little bit of news before we get to Deadpool stuff. There has been... So Marvel has started releasing a podcast. And they may listen to this show David. They...

[00:02:21] In their first episode, they were like, hey, Iron Man came out such and such years ago on this date. What was your first viewing of that movie? Like... And I was like, these corporate shills. These exclusive, totally different.

[00:02:39] So that's still the idea that probably we've heard from somewhere else. No, I'm surprised it took them quite frankly to now to have a podcast.

[00:02:52] I am... While personally, I'm happy to listen to a tidy podcast where you get like actual producers and creatives on talking about things that are kind of in the works. I've listened to a couple of them. They're pretty clean well done.

[00:03:09] I'm a little bummed because I know we were just outside the top 10 podcasts. And I think this might bump us down just a little bit. Just a little bit, just a little bit. Yeah. So the cool thing is...

[00:03:23] So they... Marvel has put out a few podcasts over the years. They have a couple of narrative ones that they've done which are really cool. I highly suggest those to anybody who is a podcast listener. Go check out Marvel's narrative podcasts. I think they did a Hawkeye one.

[00:03:38] I think they did a Wolverine one as well. And I listened through those really cool audio narrative type of stories. Go give those a listen if you have it. If you kind of like Marvel content, it's a cool different way to experience it.

[00:03:54] They've also done a lot on the comic side. There's been various comic things. The most recent that I can recall is called This Week in Marvel, which tried to do kind of all of Marvel, right? They tried to cover Marvel video games and Marvel comics and Marvel movies,

[00:04:14] which we also endeavor to do. But they tried to do it like one on a corporate level and two on a really in depth level and cover everything and everything. That's everything. Yeah. That's wild. Okay.

[00:04:28] Just got to be overwhelming at some point in agent M who might Ryan Panagos, who hosted that. He's a great like Marvel source. I love reading his stuff, but it just was tough. I will say the official Marvel podcast right now.

[00:04:44] They obviously they're getting folks like Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbom and Sean Levy to do the show. And that's really cool. The second half of their show where they do discussions is a little bit. It's a basic in my for my taste. It's a little bit.

[00:05:02] It's definitely written for the people. For those imaginary listeners we talk about that have never heard of Marvel before. That's what the second half of their podcast is. And you know what? I'm sure it's got a great audience. I listened to the first half and it's really great.

[00:05:17] And then I usually kind of skip through the end. But like I mentioned, they did have a couple of of things. They did announce something. So there are four episodes in now, if I remember right. And the first two episodes had some pretty big news.

[00:05:34] And so I wanted to kind of bring it here to our audience. And I wanted to react to it too because I think there's this is a pretty cool stuff. So the first episode had Kevin Feige on it.

[00:05:44] Lots of you know, there was a lot of kind of, did he say it that way and those sort of things? Not diving too deep into that. But he did talk about the fantastic for will be a period piece set in the 1960s.

[00:06:02] So it is going to be a throwback piece to the 60s feel. We kind of got that feel off the posters a little bit already, but I'm pretty stoked for that. I think that it like that era and a little bit of camp in your superheroes.

[00:06:20] That seems like it's going to be a lot of fun. Yeah, I think setting it in the 60s is good. I know how this will tie in to like modern MCU or if it ever will. Maybe they don't age. I will say I liked what they did.

[00:06:37] I think it was first Xman first class right that was set in the 60s if ever remember correctly. Yep. And really enjoyed that. I think it can be super fun.

[00:06:46] I like you know, like the I'm sure for it will be very kind of like well done from like a stylized and then a static perspective.

[00:06:53] But I also think you know, 60s kind of hardkins to the win a lot of the marvel comics really kind of matured and evolved and many were created. And so I think it's kind of cool that they're going to be setting in that decade.

[00:07:07] Could you imagine if they tried to like if they tried to incorporate the sliding timeline into actual MCU. Oh God.

[00:07:19] Honestly, I swear the first thing you said would it be weird if they tried to incorporate and all I could think was like because I'm just my mind is just after day of work fried and just thinking wait madman like it's dog Draper.

[00:07:34] I'm going to be in the fantastic for which I think I actually kind of great but um, I don't know I mean it's you know 60 years. Yeah.

[00:07:42] I'll go I have to have to believe it'll just be its own universe but it'll be interesting to see how they spin it off. It's funny we're talking about the podcast the two things I want to say one.

[00:07:52] I would echo what you're saying in terms of some of the interviews it does seem almost kind of AI generated questions and answers it's kind of like okay this is yeah fine there's no real like. There's no real, you know, mom's.

[00:08:06] Yeah there's not nothing like the earthshattering I did like the I do the podcast it's announcing everything marvel and I'm just thinking of my mind is like.

[00:08:16] Okay and they're on segment 12 is okay kids it's back to school month and I'm going to preview all the marvel sets that you have for your lunch boxes so first up we've got the bare nemo and.

[00:08:29] Yeah, because if somebody's products on the other side anyway it's why I dig diverge. Sorry about that.

[00:08:37] The other thing that I found interesting that Kevin Feige mentioned is that the Wonderman movie is still being worked on and like that was the most like at the surface mention of Wonderman that I have seen in years it's been a minute.

[00:08:57] It's a race between Wonderman and blade towards like which one like just gets buried the quickest first what have been about her anything I think during.

[00:09:11] It was like right after I came to the right after right before the strikes like there was a kind of like a renewed yes this is still going to happen and then just nothing. Yeah yeah so I mean I think.

[00:09:26] It'll be interesting because I think Wonderman running up against potentially. Like the new Superman and stuff could be really interesting that that could be an interesting moment in comic movie. You know.

[00:09:45] I think that the most of the releases and stuff is it's kind of see those those released side by side not that they're the same hero but I think aesthetically like.

[00:09:54] A casual fan is going to go oh Wonderman looks a lot like Superman so it could be kind of an old school head to head release which would be really cool kind of like kind of like 2018 when a little movie called Infinity War came out same years Aquaman and slightly different.

[00:10:13] Although Aquaman made of a billion dollars yeah I mean that first Aquaman was pretty good I'm not going to lie the first Aquaman was solid movie yeah.

[00:10:23] I mean the bar is low for a lot of the stuff like this like anyway that's this not let's not turn this into DC slander podcast.

[00:10:32] So on their second episode of this lot more meat on this bone we're going to we're probably spent a little bit time here Brad Winderbomb who if you're not familiar with him he is the head of Marvel streaming and TV so all the stuff that shows up on Disney plus all that kind of stuff that is Brad Winderbomb's work.

[00:10:53] So he mentioned that the X-Men 97 story board for season two is done they're going to be doing big things so excited about that X-Men 97 was excellent I think it's going to keep being excellent I saw.

[00:11:10] Other news outside of this and I forgot to track it down they did hire a new writer for season three of X-Men 97. Because the head writer was out after season one and two.

[00:11:25] Yeah I think I heard the I'm thinking we mentioned this on one of our other shows or other episodes like they had it like up and going for even season one was done and made it seem like that there are.

[00:11:45] Other creatives other than just like this one person was kind of driving at all so I'm not surprised that they've got like the that their full see man for sure is this do you think is X-Men 97.

[00:11:57] Think of the last I don't know three four five years like the best Marvel content they've put out. What is that Deadpool Wolverine like yeah yeah it could be you know it could be there there's I really like I did like she hope.

[00:12:18] I think I don't think she hope was better than X-Men 97 so yeah I think X-Men 97 is probably the best but I don't think it's a sharp drop off as sharp as some people would like to make it to be.

[00:12:32] Did you also see I just saw this online X-Men 97 has been nominated for an M&M. For outstanding animated program. Oh nice nice that Emmy nominations came out today and I forgot to check them before the show so that is my bad but yeah so.

[00:12:49] Awesome there and it will be continuing with big things right and we knew it was going to be big things we knew apocalypse is showing up it's going to be.

[00:12:59] It's going to be big yeah continuing on the animation news we actually got news on like all the animated projects which was kind of cool continuing on the animation news.

[00:13:13] Brad Winderbom said what if season three feels like the completion of a trilogy he feels like it goes beyond what season two day which season two kind of went into a more.

[00:13:24] Story arc structure instead of a episodic kind of singular story from season one this was more you know season two kind of became more serialized.

[00:13:40] You know season three I think the way that he made it sound is it's going to again tell a grand story it's going to be even weirder I and I did find it interesting that he called it the completion of a trilogy I hope that means that they're going to they're not going to stop at season three but.

[00:14:01] You know it it does sound like maybe season three maybe things after season three aren't quite so sure for what if which you know sometimes things run their course totally understand that but I do hope they can keep that go and and I'm really looking forward to that.

[00:14:20] I have the two I like enjoyed it I thought was good.

[00:14:24] The next one that they talked about that all this is another one that has been you know kind of mentioned but not a whole lot by a lot of people is friendly neighborhood Spider man this is the animated series that focuses on spider man during high school.

[00:14:41] The idea here is that they're going to focus on the neighborhood right they're going to focus on the friendly neighborhood Spider man and he talked about some some appearances that we're going to get in this series so Nico Monero from.

[00:15:00] She's she's from the runaways she's going to show up in this series we're also going to see Lonnie Lincoln who is a kind of a long time comic character he should be showing up in the.

[00:15:15] In that as well as Harry Osborne so we're going to kind of see what's what's going on with Harry Osborne now it is interesting because when I talk about the next step or the next thing.

[00:15:29] I just really quickly to mention the last animation project he talked about was Isabel Konda he talked about this tying directly to the MCU talking about the history of Wakanda they're working with Ryan Kugler on it's going to be great right.

[00:15:44] Not a whole lot of details given other than this is the history of Wakanda but I think what's interesting is in the way that he was talking about it he distinctly mentioned that Isabel Konda ties directly to the MCU he did not mention that during friendly neighborhood Spider man.

[00:16:01] There's a chance that you know they they kind of and I think I think Xman 97 does set this up a little bit that animation is kind of its own universe. It's a little bit separate from the MCU. And so I think friendly neighborhood Spider man.

[00:16:23] I don't it'll be interesting I'll be interested to see how much it ties into the MCU and how how much you know future Spider man projects pull from it and that's sort of thing.

[00:16:34] Yeah, that will be interesting the I've heard the same as you history of the Isabel Konda history history of Wakanda it's going to type to the MCU. Just that like type to the MCU through to Chaka so we're talking like 70 through 90s is it trying through like.

[00:16:55] Prior black Panthers so it'd be really cool. So they're releasing a video game they're working on a video game right now that. Is set in World War II and it follows Captain America and the Black Panther the Black Panther at that time.

[00:17:12] Be really cool if they showed some of that in this to some stories kind of where like Black Panthers involved in World War II Wakanda you know what he's doing at that what he's doing at that time that'd be probably to Chaka's dad because I don't think to Chaka would have been serving in the 40s.

[00:17:31] Maybe yeah, I just we don't I mean it's not we don't know how long.

[00:17:39] We don't know how long the Black Panthers live for when you see the Black Panther moving there in the astro plane and you see a number of Black Panthers in the background like do they live for did these.

[00:17:52] Folks who are enhanced by the hardship herb do they live for.

[00:17:56] Hundred years to thousand right. You just don't know right yeah and that that was interesting you know on our main show we're about to record Black Panthers who just watched it and I did find it interesting that there were like I think four Black Panthers in the tree aside from to Chaka.

[00:18:15] It's so I'd be really curious maybe this show will tell us who those four are right who are the other four Black Panthers prior to Chaka right that'd be interesting yeah I'm moving can yeah we can nerd out on the astro plane if you yeah later in the movie.

[00:18:30] When it comes back to see more I don't know I'm looking forward to like Brian sure was dope. Yes, I am excited for that series.

[00:18:39] One that I'm going to glaze over real quick because I think it's better served if we talk about it later on in the trailer park is Agatha. Agatha all along.

[00:18:50] Really he didn't say a whole lot about it that we won't cover when we talk about it in the trailer park so don't need to spend too much time on it here. The last one he mentioned was Daredevil born again.

[00:19:02] One of the things that I really found interesting was we got some of our first insights into what this show is going to be like. What the like mentality around it is which is really which I found interesting and maybe insightful.

[00:19:21] They compared it to Xman 97 where they said we have this we have a franchise that people love right people loved the 90s Xman cartoon.

[00:19:39] Essentially in this analogy the Netflix Daredevil is that right so this is a continuation but also reboot of that Netflix series is the way that they're talking about it. So similar to Xman 97 where it's reviving a thing that fans love so really really kind of cool there.

[00:20:06] I will say this like it is not uncommon for Disney just a hey look this is the blank of blank right to like hey there's new starboard show this is going to be the andor of like Marvel TV shows and then yeah.

[00:20:24] I don't know about that like that's fair right but um I'm you know I'm down for sure why not maybe good.

[00:20:33] Yeah so that's all the news from that podcast like I say really cool podcast but don't listen to it listen to us let me listen to it and then we'll tell you the news from it.

[00:20:42] This is not by the way this is not going to be a podcast about a podcast just there's happened to me. Slower month there was some news items are dropped they were reported in by the new by new sources other than just the podcast but.

[00:20:57] You know just want to give credit given do where the information is sort of fun but yeah. So then breaking news bump bump bump bump bump breaking news today it is rumored now this is not this is an anonymous source telling the Hollywood reporter which.

[00:21:17] Hollywood reporter tends to be pretty on their stuff usually their sources are fairly reliable they usually get it right. The Russo brothers are rumored to be directing Avengers five and Avengers secret war.

[00:21:35] This would be huge I know Sean Levy was was rumored to be directing and writing it a that was a week ago that rumor hit.

[00:21:48] I think the Russo brothers are tagged to write and direct if if the if I'm remembering the news source correctly I could be wrong but. Russo brothers back on board for subore Avengers reminder for folks the Russo brothers are who did infinity war and end game.

[00:22:10] And I David did they do civil war as well yes yeah so your favorite your favorite marvel movies are our we're so brother products the. I do like the. Alvin so Sean Levy is doing. Wolverine Deadpool right correct yeah and he's also remitted done Avengers five.

[00:22:36] Yeah there was some rumors floating around that that's what it was going to be because I he's listed I'm. And I think it's kind of this awkward like he's on he's on press tour right now.

[00:22:48] And he's probably getting like tweets and messages like hey man are you still doing five because I think so. Thanks. Those those are so dex.

[00:23:03] I mean look they they have like after the debacle I mean it's going to be that's what I'm called after the last phase like they just they have to have some bangers right and so. Yeah. They have to have Avengers movies after not having some sense.

[00:23:20] In game and what better way to you know recreate the formula to bring back the Russo's I'm sure we're going to see back up but to the actors come back why not. Yeah.

[00:23:33] Well that's segue us well into our next segment so next segment that I want to go through here we are on the press of his of Deadpool.

[00:23:44] And we're going to be on the press of the rumors of plenty there is all kinds of stuff and for those not familiar with the show David and I have a bet on who can get who basically if Deadpool and Wolverine makes more money than any two.

[00:24:07] Of the. I did give you all three after you watched a madem web because for that suffering you deserve something more than. So all three Sony. Marvel projects so madem web craving the hunter and.

[00:24:28] Venom three all three of those added together their box their their worldwide box office take versus Deadpool's worldwide box office take. Is is what our bet is the next summer will do one of our breakdown episodes based on the winners choice.

[00:24:50] With the with the movie like Deadpool there's a lot of rumors that come about and there's a lot of speculation and there's a lot of room for cameos we've already seen several cameos in the.

[00:25:03] Trailers and all that kind of stuff so I thought it would be fun if we kind of set up another little sidewager here about what's going to happen in Deadpool right.

[00:25:14] And the price for this is I don't know the exact figure will figure out an exact figure, but basically in amount added to. Your final tally at the end of the year right so. They have a mayor proposed something what's up.

[00:25:34] Okay, hear me out if I get more of these guests are right and I'm not going to get more right than you I've not anything I don't want read it. I. A mind's not based on my mind. I'm not saying you are.

[00:25:47] Yeah, I'm sure there's a true guesses. But I'm going to say if you win yeah we'll figure out a. A reasonable dollar amount to add to your box office total and if I win then we take I don't know.

[00:26:04] Add to speak will me for to the total of the other three movies to add to come still going to come up short through movies and I can make any money anyway. No that that's fair. Plus more to.

[00:26:20] I'm just attacking on stuff to like this one get to billion dollars and come close you probably take the those Sony projects and maybe multiply them by two and maybe gets to going and that is just that's a train wreck.

[00:26:36] They're squandering such good opportunity, but anyways we digress let's let's get into these bets so I haven't set up in two kind of ways. One is kind of a true false take a guess.

[00:26:49] The other one's going to be who from this category is going to cameo so I'm going to start with our true false guesses and I have my null filled out David I'm going to ask you to guess true or false.

[00:27:06] Before I expose mine so that that way my my guesses are not in or your guesses are not influenced by my guesses. And we can kind of go from there do I have to do I get a buzzer.

[00:27:21] Let's see here what do I have what do I have. I have. No that count. So sad I'm already from my guess is go ahead let's do this. Let's do this all right so first proposition Taylor Swift will appear true or false David I'll say false.

[00:27:43] I went true I know that it's been said that she's not I know entertainment we clear whoever said that she won't but I think she'll appear in some way whether she's lady pool which will get to in a second but or you know if she shows up in an after credits scene or something.

[00:28:02] I think she'll appear. True or false dead pool will destroy the fox universe true true as well. I think that this is how they close the chapter on the Fox universe this is how they button that up. Nice and tidy true or false. Deadpool will destroy the MCU.

[00:28:29] Okay Claire fan question what do you mean by destroy the MCU I mean the current MCU like what does that mean? Yeah no good question so my thought is.

[00:28:38] In the movie he is going to do something to destroy the MCU likely bring it back right obviously if it did.

[00:28:45] I think it's destroyed it's you have movie still to come out there the the the the I unless you're going way off the rails I don't think that anybody believes that the MCU stays dead during or through the movie but so he destroys like a.

[00:29:03] Like a branch chain reality the MCU and it comes back yeah. So will he destroy the MCU I would say probably not okay I'm in the same boat I said false as well. I don't think I don't think they would get that weird.

[00:29:20] I don't think they're going multi versus this man like they've already seen they've already touched that third rail they're not going back there I don't think please not for a while. Someone not dead pool will destroy a universe during this movie any universe any universe.

[00:29:37] Any character right it could be can say and renew but it could be Wolverine. Sure what not cool I went through as well I think that potentially Cassandra Nova is going to like.

[00:29:54] That's not necessarily what her character does in the comics but it could raise the stakes right she could cut off a universe or something. Okay. Deadpool will be pictured on film killing Kevin Feige. I'll say no.

[00:30:13] I went through I think that this is maybe one of those ones where they are able to point poke fun it themselves.

[00:30:21] You know and by the way to be clear this these are scenes that appear either in the movie or in a post credit scene but not a deleted scene.

[00:30:33] Not a deleted scene that we're going to be adjudicating this literally next month so we're not going to be looking at like DVD extras and that sort of stuff so. Yeah I'm already going to file on appeal to listen to the pelicore but it's continue.

[00:30:51] Deadpool will kill any Disney or Marvel executive other than Fyke because that would be a double dip. Well that because I went through on Fyke I did go through on this one saying like obviously if he kills Fyke that means he killed an executive.

[00:31:14] Well then I'll hedge my bed not go true. Okay anybody you have in mind that you think you might kill. I'm going to say you know my I'm going to go with Kevin. Kevin. I'm going to count as Fyke. Oh the the AI Kevin.

[00:31:32] Yeah yeah and that I will I will say that's a separate from Kevin Fyke. Okay I was going to say. Okay this is if that's how they get Chepe back. Oh God bless from your lips to Disney's ears. Deadpool kills Chepe back.

[00:31:49] Oh my god we're stand right now. Get the Chepe back. Chepe back shirt. Chepe back. Get that baby back out get the Chepe back are alright be sure it's going. Deadpool will kill the Marvel creative committee. No it's like an happened.

[00:32:06] I also put that false I mostly put that all there is a joke because I know there's no chance of it happening. But if you now don't get me wrong they're like if he kills I can pull matter on just walking down and continue protest.

[00:32:18] Coming America's favorite executive. I'm just like we did that. Someone anyone other than Ryan Reynolds will play Deadpool at some point during the movie. Lady pool and kid pool don't count. Deadpool what dog pool does not count.

[00:32:45] We saw in the latest trailer that cowboy Deadpool is going to be in. I'm saying like. Actual Wade Wilson Deadpool played by somebody other than Ryan Reynolds. I will say yes do we get bonus points if we guess who it is.

[00:33:08] For the true false no I did not put any bonus points in but who you thinking. Yeah I'm going to say back from its always standing Philadelphia. Oh yeah. That's fair. First of all my head. I feel like I'm going to have to be.

[00:33:29] This is what last one's a little bit tricky in the way that it's worded maybe I should have reverted it but lady pool will be played by not Blake lie. Anybody other than Blake liebly. Basically if you answer true you're saying Blake liebly will not be lady pool.

[00:33:51] Wait. Can we just say lady pool will be played by Blake liebly. Yeah that's probably the better way to work. Okay I was like my mind was like. Yeah. What are they okay? I pull say true. I think it'll be. I think it's almost certain.

[00:34:11] The Taylor Swift thing I think is I don't she could show up with something as someone else but I think. Of these predictions so far and I don't feel confident in any of mine this is the only one I feel confident in. That's fair that's fair.

[00:34:34] How pissed would you be if I've already seen the movie and we're like damn he like nailed these like he even got like the bonus point question about like. Who's playing up? So yeah.

[00:34:45] What we will be doing here is basically when all said and done the scoring is going to be. And then the first thing that's going to be.

[00:34:53] Plus one for a correct character regardless of you know the franchise or correctness so if you take a character for like let's say storm for example. And storm shows up in any of her versions, you're going to get a point. Okay. And it could be any storm.

[00:35:12] Yeah plus one bonus if the character was never in a trailer or announced as appearing. Rumor does not count as announced so just just something to incentivize going a little deeper right really should have prepared for this part. Sorry. No you're good.

[00:35:30] It's all it's all good fun plus one bonus if you get the correct actor who who is going to put portray them.

[00:35:36] I've got an idea to make this fun what if he did this family feud style and if I guess who you guess you're like you get that. And I got to come up with another one. Okay, yeah I don't have the on but I all figured something out.

[00:35:50] So if you guess who I got if you guess who I guess that yeah you have to come up with a new one. Okay. And then if you say none which I'll let you ride with none. Okay. If you say none.

[00:36:04] And no one from that franchise appears that you're fine. However if you guess none. But anyone from that franchise or category appears you actually lose a point. Got it. So good look creating this one. First one up here the OG X man.

[00:37:12] Okay. I would say classes and I'm certain classes will be in it because he's CGI and he's easy to do. Okay. Do you remember who plays him? So Mike, I don't know. I could use an X two for the first time is that right? Oh my. Okay.

[00:54:13] We're not going to talk about all the little Deadpool teaser trailers that have come out. Some of them have.

[00:54:20] Lady pool showing off a little lock up blonde hair and we see doll kai we've seen saber tooth now in one of them and there's all kinds of them out there right. I want to talk about those too much.

[00:54:33] I've been enjoying them I have been watching them I'm aware of them I'm not watching them slowly I'm not trying to pick them apart frame by frame I think I'm trying to just watch them on a surface level for what they're showing us they're fun.

[00:54:46] But let's get into the actual couple of new trailers that are for things we have seen nothing about yet we have not seen anything about these projects and we finally are seeing them I honestly thought.

[00:54:59] We weren't going to see these trailers until D23 my guess was we weren't going to see these trailers until August but hey they surprised us a little early so we got some trailers here first up is Agatha. Agatha all along so this trailer.

[00:55:18] is very reminiscent of the true crime show that the name is now escaping me but Agatha's costuming is almost perfectly tied to that so kind of continuing that tradition of using TV tropes and that's sort of thing from wand of vision where wand of vision was sitcoms this is now.

[00:55:45] a TV trope horror TV trope of sorts right so in this trailer we see. Wanda is investigating murders looks like probably or I'm sorry Agatha is investigating murders potentially one does the victim she found it's one of.

[00:56:07] Yeah with the black fingers she sees a she looks at a tote tag that is actually a library card which is kind of interesting because if you think about like. I'm not as jumping body to body checking them out kind of like a library book.

[00:56:26] If you look at that library card all of the dates are various people's birthday so it's like Stanley's birthday Elizabeth Olsen birthday Catherine Hans birthday and then.

[00:56:37] The last one is October 13 and Wanda Max Moff pops up there so we see that we're we're hinting towards a lot of a lot of Wanda involvement.

[00:56:50] We see that Agatha is collecting a cup of witches so she is she's preparing a cup of witches to go down the witches road which in the comics this is an alternate universe that's like a trial right it's kind of a set of trials if you want to think of a kind of like a video game level right you you go down this road and there's bosses at the end, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

[00:57:20] We kind of start to see we get a feel for what the what the show's going to be like it's going to be very dark.

[00:57:26] Very horror forward we see people bent over backwards we see potentially the original Scarlett which in like demon form or maybe it's my fisto but it's a ton star don't go.

[00:57:43] That's right, yes so we it looks dark like this looks incredibly dark which I'm kind of here for it seems kind of exciting.

[00:58:01] The main the main side character for Agatha the kind of guy who's in the the got to make up and you see him throughout the trailer is rumored to be. Magic so it'll be interesting because they kind of you are not magic. Oh my goodness.

[00:58:27] Um, want a son. Uh, Billy Tom Billy not Billy. Yeah but obviously this wouldn't be a grown up version of the Billy that we saw in one division so it'll be interesting it'll be interesting to see if they.

[00:58:46] Like how they navigate that navigate them being separate characters obviously it's magic there's a lot of opportunities for a lot of weird things to happen.

[00:58:57] Okay so any anything David anything pop out to you on that trailer I watched it one time and I only wanted to watch one time.

[00:59:08] Good seeing Audrey Audrey Plaza happens Aubrey Plaza happens sooner and a bit I did feel very kind of wear wolf by night kind of creepy vibe coming out September they'll probably have a big episode towards is a close to Halloween.

[00:59:26] Um, I don't know I'm interested but it's I'm not like jumping up and down for it.

[00:59:32] Thought hers was an ancient character in wand division it's been a minute it's been like four or four years or so and this is just this strikes me again the strikes me is the kind of project that like Disney the time was like super high on stream we're like yeah we'll make all these movies or all these shows and wand divisions kind of like.

[00:59:54] Yeah, we're gonna make wand division and nobody's like yeah I mean agatheron. Agatheron like I do like I do like Catherine Hanna I think she's very entertaining and funny and very talented so I'm hoping it's good.

[01:00:12] Billy Kaplan was the name I was looking for so before Billy is known to be Billy Max Moth in the comics he's known as Billy Kaplan so that that is the characters name that they're using in this by the way.

[01:00:24] Sorry I had to correct myself current show corrections. So yeah, I'm excited I think something that I I want to speculate on real quick is I do think that the supernatural side of the MCU is going to take over for the multi-versal side.

[01:00:45] I think that the the outlet for weird the outlet for goofy is going to start creeping up through the supernatural side with projects like agatheron along and played and midnight sons.

[01:00:59] Even maybe a little bit in Daredevil Daredevil has kind of a supernatural side to some of his stories.

[01:01:07] He makes deals with the devil and stuff like that throughout his run so I do think we're going to see a rise in supernatural stories in the MCU that is going to replace kind of the void left behind by.

[01:01:22] Crap people didn't understand multiverse so let's just do kind of a more traditional magic kind of thing. Yeah, I think it's I think that's certainly possible that multiverse thing is not happening at this moment so yeah.

[01:01:39] Moving over to something a little bit more grounded and honestly I don't know David this some parts of the trailer were a little bit of deja vu to me. But Captain America new world order.

[01:01:55] So we got our first trailer first teaser for Captain America new world order it was really fun. It opens up with Sam walking into President Thunderbolt Ross as now portrayed by by. Harrison Ford he was previously portrayed by the actor that I'm now dropping William hurt William hurt.

[01:02:21] Well, maybe because it looked up earlier. Thank you. But William hurt has passed so they had to recast. The had to recast Thunderbolt Ross makes a little joke about hey you look a little different these days and then you know straight pulled from our beard rankings.

[01:02:42] The president Ross says yeah they told me to lose the mustache or lose the presidency. I'd lose the election.

[01:02:51] So we see we see kind of we get a basis for the story and this is going to sound a little to me at least the sounds a little day job of this feels very civil war.

[01:03:04] So I want to make essentially President Ross wants to be Captain America official position within the US Army. Sam says what if we disagree on the way that it's supposed to go that a situation should be handled this is all ringing very true to civil war.

[01:03:23] I think it's going to be quite the like cameo fast that that the war was but very similar themes. We do get to see several shots of Jean Carlos Esposito as a yet unnamed villain.

[01:03:39] So really cool I mean Jean Carlos Esposito can just play that man I would be terrified to meet that man in person because he plays a terrifying villain.

[01:03:52] So did you ever see he re-slawn in scram release a shot by shot remake of the scene from do the right thing where the guy runs over his new sneakers with the tennis with the bicycle.

[01:04:06] It's really good I'll finally send you it's pretty funny it's very fun he's great he's the best.

[01:04:12] Yeah I'm super stoked to see him in the MCU this I saw him meme this week where it's like he's completing the infinity gauntlet he's got he's got Star Wars under his belt he's got.

[01:04:21] Some pretty big name video games under his belt he's got obviously a TV series in in breaking bad he's getting marvel and under his belt as well.

[01:04:35] And so several scenes of kind of his villainry there's a lot of background characters we see we do see walking show up who will be the Falcon in this movie.

[01:04:47] And then at the end our kind of money shot that we get is Thunderbolt Ross hooked out into red Hulk catching Captain America shield and throwing it into the ground. So this does confirm something that we've been waiting on since Thunderbolt Ross showed up in incredible Hulk.

[01:05:11] In red Hulk appearing.

[01:05:15] So very excited for that character it'll be cool to see kind of the more traditional Hulk I think that in the MCU red Hulk can pick up a lot of the the slack left behind by now smart Hulk right smart Hulk is very heroic he's pretty much as Bruce Banner but was super trained.

[01:05:36] Red Hulk is still going to be that rage monster and I think being able to use our have a rage monster that can appear he's going to be really cool. I don't have real ties to the various kind of Hulk.

[01:05:56] I'll turn it a little bit we've seen in the comics other than like she Hulk we've seen she Hulk and a TV show we've seen Hulk laying we've seen regular Hulk we've seen smart Hulk.

[01:06:10] I'm a little hooked out but I am hopeful and optimistic I love Harrison Ford and I'm looking forward to the film. I hope that people will give it.

[01:06:23] It's time I'm not even going to look at like Ron to made those this time I'm just going to go watch it just sit in when I deal with it more on. Yeah and I that brings up a good point so.

[01:06:38] Several months ago maybe it was all the way back a year ago I was kind of doing some comparison of like enjoyment per minute of the MCU and I use.

[01:06:49] I used fan scores for that I think I'm going to go back and redo that and I don't think it's going to change substantially but I think where possible I am going to use critics scores for that. I would use critics.

[01:07:02] Just due to the in the case of say like black Panther. Yeah from the critics court to the number one MC movie of all time and if you look at like the fans it's like. 78% or something like that I'm just like this is stupid.

[01:07:18] There's also letter box which is pretty good too. Yeah and this this came into stark contrast just because of obviously what's going on with acolyte over the Star Wars side of things this this highlighted a highlighted a problem.

[01:07:34] So probably you go back and fix that at some point but anyways not to get us too far away from from Falcon and winner or from sorry Captain America new world order. I'm very excited. I think I may have spotted that the other.

[01:07:54] The other super soldier the black super soldier who was in is a Bradley. He's a Bradley. Thank you. Yeah and I think he took a shot at those president. I think he's who you see shoot at the president in the trailer.

[01:08:12] I didn't watch it frame by frame or anything but kind of on my second view I was watching. That doesn't look like Jean Carlos Esposito.

[01:08:20] And I wonder if maybe there's some buying controller something that happens there so we curious to see that that's one thing I picked out like for those who watched the trailer and are like.

[01:08:31] These guys are just talking about the trailer now I mean you know applying a little bit of knowledge here. It does seem like there there may be some cool little things there. And then obviously yeah the red hole. Yeah we're hype.

[01:08:47] Yeah at this point in time I'm just. I will watch each trailer but I'm not gonna I don't want to I don't want to I really don't want to like new rocks are I love new rocks are I think it's fantastic

[01:08:59] But I also just want to watch the movie you know just want to I watched all the dead will trailers. I don't need the second by second breakdown at this point in time but afterwards for sure like I did.

[01:10:49] Yeah they're marketing's weird I kind of I have a feeling maybe there was some. Some things that in motion before they rearranged the schedule because like they were doing they were doing McDonald's happy toys for. Captain America new world order like two months ago.

[01:11:07] And that movie doesn't come out for another almost year like six months it comes out in in February of next year so I do think that there is. There there is some weirdness when it comes to marketing and so I. I think.

[01:11:27] D23 is going to set a lot of records straight I think they're going to do a lot of like here's what we actually have I think marvel knows that it needs to do that and Disney knows that they need to do that for marvel.

[01:11:41] I think they're also banking on. Deadpool and Wolverine to renew interest a little bit sure not not that interest is gone right but I think they're banking on some renewed interest there.

[01:12:05] It is the usually it's like just a movie or two like oh hey it's February this year that you know this is when. You know if the one or soldiers came out or is coming out or you know.

[01:12:37] It's not blocked us to see yeah they they used to be me now it's major lie now it's like major lie and then like the fall was like the height of it. So I 22nd 2011 Cap America the first Avenger.

[01:12:53] Anjelis 7 2017 and then and then and then in the wasp the next year 2018 on July 6th. Spiderman far from home on July 2nd 2019 Black Widow July 9 2021. And then 411 Thunder July 8 2022 so pretty popular month some of the super pretty good movies some of those are not great movies but.

[01:13:30] Yeah I should say I chuckle it black widow I actually really liked the black widow movie. It's just so mired in controversy because of the way it had to be released with covid and.

[01:13:43] The mess that it made with the way that they paid Scarlett Johansson and yeah top third milk or bottom third right now mid third I I think mid third for for that one.

[01:17:10] Yeah so they talked to him and like how he you know what why Star Wars important to him and how he kind of channels in his training so that'll be kind of a fun episode.

[01:17:18] Good good yeah I saw they live stream their episodes and so I always see the thumbnail I don't necessarily always get the chance to know but I did see they had a third person on so I would assume. That last week but they are finishing up with.

[01:17:33] Akalite just finished this week so they're they're finishing up on that. I am I watched the finale last night really good in my opinion. The lightsaber stuff is awesome at the part of their story plot parts I don't love but.

[01:17:53] Yeah or I'll go like kind of sex or so like that's fair I might take on it is it was it was intentionally simple from a story standpoint just because it was effectively.

[01:18:06] It was kind of like Iron Man one where like you had to have a pretty simple story because you were introducing almost a whole new. Universe totally yeah. So that yeah the band couple is there they're doing their thing and then last but not least the supreme resort.

[01:18:28] Land V World they just did a pretty great episode I actually laughed really hard listening to their most recent episode on it was what was it even on. Something really esoteric and I doubt oh of course now I can't even remember what it was on but.
