The Magic Skyway was part of the group of exhibits Walt and the crew created for the 1964 World's Fair in New York. While it's siblings, "it's a small world", "Carousel of Progress" and "Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln" all made it back to Disneyland, The Magic Skyway was destined for the dustbin of history. It did, however, spawn multiple future attractions, as well as hard-selling the public on the wonders of the ford automobile. On today's show, Jeremy is back with his look at the music of Ford's Magic Skyway!

[00:00:02] It's time for the show that brings the magic right to your speakers. Ears up!
[00:00:12] Jeremy's back, Jeremy's back, Jeremy's back, Jeremy's back right now on the show, Jeremy's back, Jeremy's back, Jeremy's back, Jeremy's back.
[00:00:23] Instant classic, here we go, what's going on everybody? EarzUp Podcast. Guess who's back, Eric?
[00:00:30] Is it Jeremy?
[00:00:31] I don't know how you would, how would you ever guess that?
[00:00:35] I'm clairvoyant.
[00:00:36] He couldn't stay away.
[00:00:36] I'm psychic now.
[00:00:37] He couldn't stay away.
[00:00:38] There's no way he could stay away from us, our charisma. We rizzed Jeremy up in the skibbity.
[00:00:43] Right.
[00:00:45] We gooned him, skibbity rizzed.
[00:00:47] Well, you said something that you psychic attacked me, I think, on Instagram today, and I didn't know what that meant.
[00:00:53] I don't know, man.
[00:00:54] I'm standing in my kitchen making coffee and I'm going like, I need to post something, but I have a hard time with social media because I just want to be weird.
[00:01:03] And like, I have intrusive thoughts and I just need to like get them out.
[00:01:07] So I'm like, I'm just going to, I'm psychic, sure, let's do that.
[00:01:11] Because I was going to be like voodoo or whatever.
[00:01:12] I'm like, that's not funny.
[00:01:14] I don't know what psychic attack is either, but you know, I psychic attacked you, psychically convinced you.
[00:01:21] I bullied you.
[00:01:21] I was a bully.
[00:01:22] It worked.
[00:01:23] Yeah.
[00:01:24] Thanks, man.
[00:01:25] Meanwhile, I came back of my own volition.
[00:01:28] Yeah, I know.
[00:01:29] I reached out to you.
[00:01:32] Yeah.
[00:01:32] And then we were talking before the show.
[00:01:35] You're like, it's 11 o'clock.
[00:01:37] Why did I do this to myself?
[00:01:39] I had totally forgotten.
[00:01:41] I mean, I knew you.
[00:01:42] I just didn't realize it was 11 my time.
[00:01:45] So I'm like, oh, show tonight.
[00:01:48] And then I like look at Instagram and it's like 11 p.m.
[00:01:51] And I thought, oh, God, I remember why I stopped going on that thing.
[00:01:57] Yeah.
[00:01:58] Well, you know, but every once in a while it keeps you young.
[00:02:00] Every once in a while.
[00:02:01] It's totally fine.
[00:02:02] I'm working from home tomorrow, so it'll be all right.
[00:02:05] Oh, good.
[00:02:05] Yes.
[00:02:06] All right.
[00:02:06] Oh, sure.
[00:02:07] Sure.
[00:02:10] Anyway, what's going on, everybody?
[00:02:12] Jeremy is back.
[00:02:12] We have a Spectro Magic, Spectro Time.
[00:02:16] I even forget the name of the segment now.
[00:02:18] Spectro Time.
[00:02:18] Spectro Time.
[00:02:19] It's been so long.
[00:02:21] We got that going on with the Magic Skyway.
[00:02:24] The music of the Magic Skyway, which was what?
[00:02:27] In Shanghai Disney 25 years ago?
[00:02:30] That's right.
[00:02:30] Shanghai.
[00:02:31] Okay.
[00:02:32] Rewind back.
[00:02:33] Yeah.
[00:02:34] Switch that and rewind it back.
[00:02:36] It was at the Walt.
[00:02:38] It was the one attraction from.
[00:02:40] So Walt did four attractions for the 1964 World's Fair in New York.
[00:02:45] Three of them made it their way back to Disneyland after that.
[00:02:49] One did not.
[00:02:50] And that was the Magic Skyway.
[00:02:51] So we're going to talk about that one tonight.
[00:02:54] Oh, excellent.
[00:02:55] The one that got away.
[00:02:56] The one that Ford wouldn't give him.
[00:02:59] Right.
[00:03:00] I sort of like the just the bit of rewriting Disney Parks history.
[00:03:05] Just like starting with the Shanghai is like the original park.
[00:03:08] I think it'd be very funny for some reason.
[00:03:10] You should do that on a show.
[00:03:13] Let's do it right now.
[00:03:15] So Guangdong, China.
[00:03:19] That's where it all started.
[00:03:20] That's where it all started.
[00:03:21] 1955.
[00:03:24] The bastion of light and medium industrial parks.
[00:03:30] That's a SimCity reference.
[00:03:32] I hear it.
[00:03:35] Welcome everyone watching on Twitch.
[00:03:39] I do want to apologize for my low plunging neckline.
[00:03:44] I have another one of my cool Halloween shirts on.
[00:03:46] It is 82.6 degrees in here.
[00:03:49] I am sweaty and I don't care.
[00:03:51] So if the male form offends you, I apologize.
[00:03:54] And if it doesn't, you know, throw some bits.
[00:03:59] Well, I mean, we signed on before the show and you you busted onto the frame with so much male cleave that it threw me almost out of my chair.
[00:04:09] The breeze of his movement just made it wider.
[00:04:13] That's right.
[00:04:14] It's such a breezy fabric.
[00:04:15] Are we going here?
[00:04:17] This polyester to the navel.
[00:04:21] Basically, we're recreating Studio 54 without the illicit drums.
[00:04:25] I like it.
[00:04:26] I like that it's Halloween.
[00:04:27] I'm in a Halloween mood.
[00:04:29] I've been waiting for October to hit like that last week.
[00:04:32] I love Halloween.
[00:04:33] I love it more probably than any other holiday.
[00:04:36] And so that last week of September when it's not quite Halloween and it's not quite cool enough.
[00:04:41] You're just like, come on, October 1st.
[00:04:43] Now it's here and I'm thrilled.
[00:04:46] Okay.
[00:04:47] How, what's the temperature like today?
[00:04:50] Wherever you are in New York today.
[00:04:52] It was, I think the high was like low seventies, but you know, it was 103.
[00:04:58] Oh, come on.
[00:04:59] It's going to be 105 tomorrow.
[00:05:02] It's insane, dude.
[00:05:04] I won't complain that it got to 90 here.
[00:05:07] Yeah.
[00:05:08] So we're like, we're driving around and Tara's like, I just, can you believe?
[00:05:10] Or Alice goes, is it still summer?
[00:05:12] And I'm like, yeah.
[00:05:13] And Darren's like, no, technically not.
[00:05:15] I'm like, oh, I guess not.
[00:05:17] Yeah.
[00:05:19] We're not going to get cooled down until like, you know, Monday, Tuesday next week.
[00:05:22] That's quite warm.
[00:05:23] Yeah.
[00:05:24] It sucks, dude.
[00:05:25] It sucked.
[00:05:26] Which is probably why it's 82.6 degrees in the studio.
[00:05:30] Yeah.
[00:05:30] That would explain that.
[00:05:31] Uh, anyway, before we get to the show, Jeremy's lovely segment, I do want to say, if you're
[00:05:36] going to the parks at all, or kind of vacationing anywhere, reach out to concierge, but parks
[00:05:41] specifically go to concierge.com.
[00:05:43] They will help book your entire trip.
[00:05:45] You have to do nothing, but give them payment and tell them your parameters for going.
[00:05:49] And maybe if you want, uh, like if you're going to Disneyland for like four days, but
[00:05:53] maybe you want a day away from the parks, they can help you kind of figure out what's
[00:05:57] going on in LA, in the greater LA area.
[00:05:59] Maybe you want to go to Riverside.
[00:06:01] Riverside.
[00:06:03] Maybe.
[00:06:03] Don't go to Riverside.
[00:06:04] Am I missing something?
[00:06:05] Literally, no.
[00:06:06] Yeah.
[00:06:07] Riverside is not, um.
[00:06:09] No, I mean, am I missing something in Riverside?
[00:06:10] I'm not, I'm not missing the joke.
[00:06:12] No.
[00:06:13] No, you're, uh, you're missing probably a possession charge.
[00:06:17] I think if you go.
[00:06:18] Julie from the OC was from Riverside, but it was a running joke.
[00:06:22] So don't want to go to Riverside.
[00:06:25] I need a screeching break.
[00:06:27] It wasn't a screeching break.
[00:06:29] It was literally part of what you were talking about.
[00:06:30] I don't know what that is though.
[00:06:32] I remember the OC.
[00:06:33] It's a character.
[00:06:33] You might not, but there are people who will.
[00:06:36] Yeah.
[00:06:39] Anyway, uh, Concierge will help you figure all that out.
[00:06:41] Go to concierge.com today.
[00:06:44] Get yourself set up and hooked up and connected with a, a professional vacation planner, professional
[00:06:51] Disney vacation planner.
[00:06:52] They'll figure it all out for you.
[00:06:54] Uh, my favorite part, I talk about this all the time, but if you book a hotel room and
[00:06:58] you know, a couple of months later, a couple of weeks later, it's a different price.
[00:07:01] It's a cheaper price.
[00:07:02] They will book that hotel for you and reimburse you the difference.
[00:07:06] So they're always looking out for you, which I appreciate it.
[00:07:08] And that's why they're our official travel partner.
[00:07:11] So thank you very much to the folks over at Concierge.
[00:07:15] All right, Jer, what do you think, man?
[00:07:17] Are you ready?
[00:07:19] Yeah.
[00:07:19] You get, is it like going to be like riding a bike or is it going to be like, uh,
[00:07:22] um, okay.
[00:07:25] Fair enough.
[00:07:26] I'm not sure.
[00:07:28] Okay.
[00:07:29] Well, uh, you know that all that magic stuff out of the way.
[00:07:34] Join us as we unravel the magic behind some of Disney's most beloved pieces of music.
[00:07:39] It's spectro time.
[00:07:41] This magic night.
[00:07:45] It's stars will play beside us.
[00:07:48] Cast a spell of love.
[00:07:52] Green, shimmering, carousel.
[00:07:55] Welcome back, Jeremy.
[00:07:57] It's been too long since we've heard this song and your dulcet tones and your inspiring endorphin generating laughter.
[00:08:05] I did miss the song.
[00:08:08] Okay.
[00:08:09] I have to fly in the laughter.
[00:08:11] Wow.
[00:08:12] Sorry.
[00:08:14] Sorry.
[00:08:14] He lists all these things.
[00:08:15] I mean, Jeremy's okay.
[00:08:16] Well, the song was great.
[00:08:17] The song was great.
[00:08:19] Yeah.
[00:08:19] That song is a bit of a warm blanket.
[00:08:21] Electric light.
[00:08:23] It is.
[00:08:24] Yeah, I agree, man.
[00:08:25] It is a nice, it is a nice song.
[00:08:27] Well, I want you to picture it.
[00:08:30] 1950s.
[00:08:32] It's been a six.
[00:08:33] Guangdong.
[00:08:34] Yeah.
[00:08:34] Guangdong China.
[00:08:35] It's been a successful opening of Disneyland.
[00:08:38] But now Walt, never one to sit still or rest on his laurels, has begun contemplating participation in the upcoming 1964 World's Fair, which is slated to be held in New York City.
[00:08:54] The executives at the Ford Motor Company were seeking a pavilion concept at the fair to showcase their new innovations, particularly a new car they were going to be introducing, the Mustang.
[00:09:06] We heard of that.
[00:09:08] Oh, wow.
[00:09:09] I love a Mustang.
[00:09:10] I got to say, that is a really pretty car.
[00:09:12] I'm not a car guy, especially I'm not a muscle car guy.
[00:09:16] There's a few cars that I love.
[00:09:17] The VW Bug, like early 60s, late 50s, and a Mustang, like that 64 and a half or like a Mustang Fastback.
[00:09:28] Even the really recent ones have kind of come back around.
[00:09:32] Yeah, I agree with that.
[00:09:34] Yeah.
[00:09:35] Yeah, there's nothing like sitting in the stang.
[00:09:39] Stang.
[00:09:40] Ford's executives envisioned a ride-through attraction using their automobiles as the ride vehicles.
[00:09:49] That's a good idea, right?
[00:09:50] That's a fantastic idea.
[00:09:52] These guys just know what they're doing.
[00:09:54] Oh, yeah.
[00:09:55] Only each would be driven through the attraction by individual drivers.
[00:10:01] Oh, that's a lot of staff.
[00:10:02] It's a lot of staff.
[00:10:03] It's like having jungle cruise skippers.
[00:10:06] Yeah.
[00:10:07] That's a lot of stang.
[00:10:08] It's a lot of stang.
[00:10:09] It's a lot of stang.
[00:10:12] Well, Walt was not having it.
[00:10:15] He vetoed such an idea, preferring the more dependable use of automated vehicles.
[00:10:21] While on tour at the Ford factory in Michigan, Walt and Imagineer John Hench noted how the Ford assembly line made use of a series of rollers to move superheated steel around the plant efficiently and safely.
[00:10:36] So they see this and now they're like, they go to work and they're envisioning a track with embedded rolling wheels that could propel ride vehicles forward.
[00:10:46] Man, always thinking these boys.
[00:10:48] That's right.
[00:10:49] Or stealing.
[00:10:52] So Walt and his team get to work on ideas for a show at Ford's Pavilion and presented their first concept, the Symphony of America.
[00:11:00] They presented that to Ford's leadership.
[00:11:02] Symphony of America would be a trip through the USA showcasing various geographies such as the Florida Everglades, the Grand Canyon, the Redwood Forest, all set to a classically orchestrated score.
[00:11:14] Each section would feature families happily vacation in their Ford vehicles.
[00:11:19] I love this idea.
[00:11:22] It's a good idea.
[00:11:23] It's got all of my boxes.
[00:11:27] Nice.
[00:11:28] It also ticks them.
[00:11:30] It's a very good promo.
[00:11:32] It's got them and it ticks them.
[00:11:33] It's pretty good.
[00:11:35] Don't just leave them empty.
[00:11:36] It's a double whammy.
[00:11:37] This is like back when advertising could just beat you about the head and face, you know?
[00:11:43] It could redefine what it means for you to live your life.
[00:11:49] You know, now it's like sort of subtle, I guess, to a certain extent.
[00:11:53] There's a lot of psychology at play.
[00:11:55] But back then it's like, oh, your Ford life?
[00:11:57] Imagine what your Ford life could look like when you're eating your Ford food with your Ford family.
[00:12:03] Ford.
[00:12:04] Don't forget your Ford water.
[00:12:07] Ford.
[00:12:07] It's a Ford.
[00:12:09] I don't know.
[00:12:09] I think, I don't know how much subtlety there is in the J.G. Wentworth commercials.
[00:12:15] Okay.
[00:12:15] Well, look, man.
[00:12:19] Yeah.
[00:12:19] You know, those are the ones like 877 Cash Now.
[00:12:22] J.G. Wentworth.
[00:12:23] 877 Cash Now.
[00:12:25] Yeah, for sure, man.
[00:12:26] Yeah.
[00:12:26] I guess like long, like long, long game advertising.
[00:12:30] By the way, this episode brought to you by J.G. Wentworth.
[00:12:37] Well, Ford rejected the idea of the Symphony of America.
[00:12:40] They didn't like it.
[00:12:43] Really?
[00:12:43] Why would they?
[00:12:44] Well, there was a couple reasons.
[00:12:45] They wanted something bigger.
[00:12:46] They didn't think this was grand enough.
[00:12:49] Jeez.
[00:12:50] Okay.
[00:12:50] Okay.
[00:12:51] Yeah.
[00:12:52] Oh, sorry.
[00:12:52] The whole U.S. isn't enough for you.
[00:12:54] I know.
[00:12:55] So, they expressed concern with the concept's similarity to GM's popular See the USA in
[00:13:06] your Chevrolet advertising campaign, which had been running since the 50s.
[00:13:10] So, this is like a real popular thing.
[00:13:13] Everyone knows this.
[00:13:14] Let's take a listen to what that sounded like.
[00:13:16] Number one.
[00:13:19] See the USA in your Chevrolet.
[00:13:24] America is asking you to call.
[00:13:27] Drive your Chevrolet through the USA.
[00:13:31] America's the greatest land of all.
[00:13:33] On a highway or a road along a levee.
[00:13:37] Performance is sweeter.
[00:13:39] Nothing can beat her.
[00:13:40] Life is completer in a Chevy.
[00:13:42] So, make a take today to see the USA.
[00:13:47] See it in your Chevrolet.
[00:13:50] I mean, that is catchy as hell.
[00:13:52] Driving on a levee?
[00:13:54] I feel like that's dangerous.
[00:13:56] Not in a Chevy.
[00:14:00] Chevy's got you.
[00:14:01] Sure, man.
[00:14:02] All right.
[00:14:02] Sure they had airbags back then.
[00:14:04] That's Dinah Shore singing that.
[00:14:07] Oh.
[00:14:08] Okay.
[00:14:09] Those vocals.
[00:14:10] So, Walt and his team had to go back to the drawing board.
[00:14:14] And they came up with a new concept.
[00:14:16] This one entitled Magic Skyway.
[00:14:20] Oh, I love that.
[00:14:21] Magic Skyway would be the centerpiece of Ford's seven-acre pavilion that would be designed by Welton Beckett's architectural firm, who happened to be a friend of Walt Disney.
[00:14:33] Ford's pavilion was one of the largest at the World's Fair.
[00:14:36] Where guests would enter the Ford Wonder Rotunda, which is a name that they first used at the company's pavilion at the 1939 World's Fair in Chicago.
[00:14:47] Here in the Wonder Rotunda, guests could explore the International Gardens.
[00:14:53] By the way, I said, I think I said earlier, maybe it was, I don't know if it was before, after we started recording or before, but this was the one of the four things that Walt designed for the World's Fair.
[00:15:06] This was the one that got away.
[00:15:07] This was the one that never made it back to a park.
[00:15:09] But what we're going to see, and you're going to hear, if you're a Disney fan, you're going to start to see things that, though the ride itself never made its way to Disney, a lot of these concepts come out of it and find their way into the Disney parks throughout the years.
[00:15:27] So when I say International Gardens, start thinking where I'm going, all right?
[00:15:35] Already picturing it.
[00:15:36] Each area of the International Gardens featured a miniature depiction of the 11 countries with Ford manufacturing facilities.
[00:15:46] So that's how they decided to pick wherever Ford had international production.
[00:15:50] We're going to bring a little garden and show it here.
[00:15:53] They were complete with flowing streams, chiming clocks, spinning windmills.
[00:15:58] Walt Disney was a big fan of miniatures.
[00:16:06] I don't like you.
[00:16:07] I didn't miss you at all.
[00:16:08] I love it.
[00:16:08] I love that.
[00:16:11] But he was.
[00:16:12] Think about it.
[00:16:12] He was always trying to do little mini things.
[00:16:14] He's got the little train in the backyard.
[00:16:16] And then what's the ride out there you guys have with the boats?
[00:16:20] The storybook land?
[00:16:21] Exactly.
[00:16:22] And if you go to the Walt Disney Family Museum, you get the little tour of because he was trying to do like a miniature Americana tour across the U.S.
[00:16:32] with like little tiny things or whatever.
[00:16:35] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:16:36] Teeny tiny, like a whole room of tiny things.
[00:16:38] Just one, though.
[00:16:40] Like one house.
[00:16:43] Yeah.
[00:16:44] He's a busy guy.
[00:16:45] So he liked miniatures and he suggested the idea of featuring the one half inch to a foot scale villages for guests to peruse.
[00:16:54] Eleven countries were featured.
[00:16:56] By the way, there's eleven countries at Epcot.
[00:16:58] I'm just saying.
[00:16:59] Eleven countries were featured representing nine global regions that each played custom area music composed by none other than Disney staff composer George Bruns.
[00:17:11] Now, George Bruns will be no stranger to you Disney fans, having composed and arranged the music to.
[00:17:22] The silence is palpable.
[00:17:24] Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room.
[00:17:27] Oh, that's what I was.
[00:17:28] Jeremy, you didn't give me enough time to answer.
[00:17:31] To type in.
[00:17:33] He also composed.
[00:17:38] Yo, Ho, A Pirate's Life for Me.
[00:17:41] Oh, that one.
[00:17:42] The Ballad of Baby.
[00:17:43] Well, he wrote the music to it.
[00:17:46] Exitensio wrote the lyrics to that one.
[00:17:48] The Ballad of Davy Crockett, as well as having been a frequent participant in.
[00:17:53] The Firehouse Five Plus Two.
[00:17:57] Oh, I was going to say Bohemian Grove, but that's wrong.
[00:18:00] Yeah, that was the other thing.
[00:18:02] Let's take a listen to some of the music George Bruns composed for the regions of the International Gardens.
[00:18:08] Number two.
[00:19:17] It definitely has a very, like, I don't know if it has a very Disney sound to it or if Disneyland has a very, you know, 50s sound to it.
[00:19:26] But like, it's, there's definitely reminiscent of like just walking around.
[00:19:30] Yeah.
[00:19:30] I love that.
[00:19:31] I love all that stuff.
[00:19:32] It's very, it's very tiki lounge kind of, you know, proto, I guess, or whatever.
[00:19:38] I just pulled up a picture of George Bruns.
[00:19:40] He looks like, he looks like Rodney Dangerfield and Biff from Back to the Future had a kid.
[00:19:48] Oh, gosh.
[00:19:49] That sounds very scary.
[00:19:51] Well, they kind of look like the same person in my mind.
[00:19:53] Yeah.
[00:19:54] Yeah, well, kind of, I guess, yeah.
[00:19:56] Weird.
[00:19:57] He's Biff Dangerfield.
[00:20:02] Well, adjacent to the International Gardens was the theme center.
[00:20:06] Here contained the fair's largest art installation, a 23-foot tall by 140-foot wide mural designed by John Hench,
[00:20:17] containing sculpted panels depicting space exploration, science, engineering, and architecture.
[00:20:22] Guests would ascend on a speed ramp to go to the pavilion's second level where they would board the Magic Skyway,
[00:20:30] but not before passing a mirrored illusion that allegedly, quote unquote, showed all 15 million Model T Fords ever produced.
[00:20:41] Wow.
[00:20:41] Really?
[00:20:42] That's crazy.
[00:20:43] Facing each other, you know, and then you.
[00:20:44] They really did want something bigger.
[00:20:46] Oh.
[00:20:47] This is a big one.
[00:20:49] I mean, who doesn't?
[00:20:50] Not me, but, you know.
[00:20:51] At the top of the ramp, guests were treated to a performance by the Auto Parts Harmonic Orchestra.
[00:20:58] That is a thing that exists?
[00:21:01] The UAW unions out there going, all right, break time.
[00:21:09] Imagineers Rolly Crump and Bob Gurr built a 13-piece orchestra of musical instruments made from auto parts.
[00:21:17] A hubcap and a water pump form a banjo.
[00:21:20] Other instruments were made of choke wires, brake cables, and spark plugs.
[00:21:24] Each part was given a unique musical voice by George Bruns,
[00:21:28] and the orchestra followed closely the windshield wiper baton that kept the beat.
[00:21:34] Take a listen.
[00:21:35] That is...
[00:21:37] Why do I feel like Wally Bogue was, like, the conductor of this?
[00:21:41] Like, that's funny.
[00:21:43] That was so...
[00:21:43] That's cute, man.
[00:21:44] The windshield wiper.
[00:21:45] I love it.
[00:21:46] Anytime you're in traffic or driving around with your windshield wipers going to see someone else,
[00:21:51] you're like, okay, you got to keep the time.
[00:21:52] Just like the turn signal.
[00:21:53] Yeah.
[00:21:54] That's very funny.
[00:21:55] I can see this as you're describing it.
[00:21:57] Let's hear the Auto Parts Harmonic Orchestra number three.
[00:22:01] It's not ahead of its time.
[00:22:44] Very Disney.
[00:22:45] I don't know.
[00:22:45] There's a Disney vibe to it with, like, the little...
[00:22:48] Yeah, that reminded...
[00:22:49] The water drip and stuff.
[00:22:50] Yeah, that was...
[00:22:50] I like that.
[00:22:51] It's cute.
[00:22:51] They really know how to layer sounds to bring a vibe, bring feeling, you know?
[00:22:59] Because you could easily probably leave out a third of that, and you get the feeling.
[00:23:04] But they really wanted to drive the point home and to make it more immersive and, I don't know,
[00:23:09] make it sound a little more car-y.
[00:23:11] Yeah.
[00:23:11] Yeah.
[00:23:12] And so you're telling me all of that was done with car parts?
[00:23:15] That whole thing?
[00:23:15] I don't...
[00:23:16] The music wasn't actually made with car parts, but it was...
[00:23:19] Oh, okay.
[00:23:19] There were car part instruments.
[00:23:21] Okay.
[00:23:22] There were instruments there sort of, like, playing with the music.
[00:23:26] It moved around?
[00:23:27] Okay.
[00:23:27] Speakers, but, like, they were...
[00:23:28] It looked like there was a saxophone made out of coil.
[00:23:31] Like, you know, so...
[00:23:32] I thought that it was actually done with, like, the car parts, and I was like, this is incredible.
[00:23:37] Like, the anvil chorus where they're actually beating an anvil.
[00:23:40] Yeah.
[00:23:41] No.
[00:23:42] Not...
[00:23:42] Not...
[00:23:43] I mean, that's a great...
[00:23:44] That would be cool.
[00:23:47] I mean, it's the auto orchestra.
[00:23:49] What am I supposed to think?
[00:23:51] It's stomp.
[00:23:52] It's stomp.
[00:23:54] That's what I was thinking, and then I was like...
[00:23:56] Fourteen choke cables in different lengths, and someone's applying the stand-up door bass.
[00:24:02] I also want to point out that when it first started, it sounded like Tomorrowland.
[00:24:07] Like, it sounded very ahead of its time.
[00:24:09] It was kind of cool.
[00:24:10] Like, it almost was, like, electronic.
[00:24:13] Yeah.
[00:24:13] Are you okay?
[00:24:14] My abs are burning.
[00:24:17] Yeah, we can see them.
[00:24:20] Well, you'd be the only one.
[00:24:25] Um...
[00:24:28] There's so much happening here, and we haven't even gotten to the ride yet.
[00:24:32] We've got a mirror illusion.
[00:24:34] We've got a sculpture.
[00:24:35] We've got international gardens with flowing water.
[00:24:38] Individual music.
[00:24:39] Like, they didn't...
[00:24:41] They pulled out all the stops.
[00:24:43] They didn't hold back.
[00:24:44] You know?
[00:24:45] Yeah.
[00:24:46] And I just want to...
[00:24:48] Thought of something real quick, because Disneyland hasn't been built yet.
[00:24:51] It's, like, not open yet, right?
[00:24:52] At this point, it is.
[00:24:53] It's nine years old.
[00:24:54] Oh, it is.
[00:24:54] Well, it's actually...
[00:24:55] Oh!
[00:24:55] During the conceptualization of this, it's five or six years old.
[00:24:59] Oh, okay.
[00:24:59] Then never mind.
[00:25:00] Please continue.
[00:25:01] But Disney World is no...
[00:25:02] Correct.
[00:25:03] Disney World's not open.
[00:25:05] But there was a...
[00:25:06] Part of the whole thing behind the being in the World's Fair was sort of, would this be a proof of concept?
[00:25:16] Would...
[00:25:16] Because there was a thought at the time that the East Coast was maybe a bit more sophisticated.
[00:25:24] And would there be an audience for Walt's attractions on the East Coast?
[00:25:30] So, they knew they had a success in Disneyland, but they didn't think that maybe all of this would translate to Eastern Coast sensibilities.
[00:25:39] So, when it was wild...
[00:25:41] When all of the...
[00:25:41] It's a small world.
[00:25:42] Hall of...
[00:25:43] Great moments with Mr. Lincoln.
[00:25:46] Carousel of Progress.
[00:25:47] And Magic Skyway were all at the World's Fair in New York.
[00:25:50] And they were all wildly successful.
[00:25:52] Walt...
[00:25:53] That gave Walt the confidence that he needed to go ahead with the Florida project.
[00:25:59] Okay.
[00:26:00] Got it.
[00:26:01] Because, yeah, that was kind of the thing I was thinking is that, like, the intricacies that you're talking about.
[00:26:05] How it's...
[00:26:06] You're not even on the ride yet.
[00:26:07] And it's already a big ordeal.
[00:26:10] It's almost like that was the expectation.
[00:26:13] Because you're not going to do that unless that's what people are expecting.
[00:26:16] And I think...
[00:26:17] Now, I thought process has changed slightly.
[00:26:20] But because Disneyland was already open and it's already got kind of that vibe,
[00:26:24] it's like that's the expectation of, like, this kind of theme park experience.
[00:26:31] It's the expectation.
[00:26:32] But also there are so many people who...
[00:26:34] Because back then people didn't go to the West Coast.
[00:26:36] I mean, so people had never even been exposed to...
[00:26:39] Although they had seen, of course, Walt's Disneyland show that showcased all the attractions that would be there.
[00:26:45] But also all of these things, so much of the...
[00:26:50] Disneyland didn't have a lot of the technology that they invented for the World's Fair and then brought back.
[00:26:56] So if you think about great moments with Mr. Lincoln, like, there was...
[00:26:59] The animatronics...
[00:27:01] The animatronics that Disneyland had up until this point were Tiki Birds.
[00:27:05] And so...
[00:27:06] That's true.
[00:27:07] They had to work so hard to get Lincoln to stand up out of his seat and do those humanoid things that was all for the World's Fair.
[00:27:16] Debuted there and then they brought it back to Disneyland.
[00:27:18] So actually what was at Disneyland didn't even come close to all the innovations.
[00:27:24] And in fact, you'll hear more later about how the Magic Skyway is what led to the possibility of the Wedway People Mover.
[00:27:32] So all of this stuff, like, these were things that didn't even exist.
[00:27:36] And they came about because of this.
[00:27:37] Anyway, let's get back to it.
[00:27:40] Magic Skyway was the main attraction.
[00:27:42] Walt's 20-minute journey took guests on a trip into long time past and time soon to come.
[00:27:51] So...
[00:27:53] Also...
[00:27:54] Thinking of...
[00:27:55] This is just already...
[00:27:56] I'm just thinking of some other attraction.
[00:27:57] I'm just...
[00:27:58] Just extemporaneously here.
[00:28:00] Thinking of some other attractions.
[00:28:03] Horizons.
[00:28:05] Mm-hmm.
[00:28:05] Spaceship Earth.
[00:28:07] World Emotion.
[00:28:08] These are all attractions that took you back in time, took you to the present, and then took you and showed you what the future was.
[00:28:15] So, like, this is how they're telling stories.
[00:28:18] They're good concepts, right?
[00:28:19] Good concepts.
[00:28:20] Yeah.
[00:28:20] Only one of those is left.
[00:28:23] Good.
[00:28:25] By the grace of Iger's budget cutting.
[00:28:30] Yes.
[00:28:31] Guests here would board one of 160 Ford cars, many brand new Mustangs, provided by Ford as the attraction ride vehicles.
[00:28:40] The cars had been stripped of their engines and their transmissions, and instead were propelled along 1,236 spinning wheels embedded in the attraction's track.
[00:28:53] Six track tape players were installed to play the narration, as well as Brun's sweeping orchestral score, which could be heard through speakers Imagineers, had hidden in the seats of these Ford cars.
[00:29:07] At a press preview 10 days before the official opening of the World's Fair, Henry Ford II tooted the horn of a 1964 Mercury convertible, starting the magic Skyway cars on their continuous journey.
[00:29:21] Walt was quoted as saying,
[00:29:23] What we want to provide guests at the Ford Pavilion is an entirely new experience, something no one has seen or done before.
[00:29:31] In its first year, the narration was provided by television announcer Dick Wesson.
[00:29:37] But in the second year of the fair, because the World's Fair was two years.
[00:29:41] In the second year of the fair, at the request of Henry Ford II himself, Walt Disney provided the narration.
[00:29:48] After boarding the ride vehicles, the stream of moving cars flowed outside of the building in a curved glass tube, affording guests not only a unique view of the World's Fair happening outside, but also simultaneously showing off Ford's vehicles to passers-by below.
[00:30:10] Hmm.
[00:30:11] Genient.
[00:30:12] Yeah.
[00:30:13] Brilliant.
[00:30:14] I'm trying to think of another attraction where the cars left the building for a bit and then went back in.
[00:30:20] Oh, it's World of Motion.
[00:30:21] Yes.
[00:30:22] At Epcot.
[00:30:24] The vehicles then re-entered the building through the time tunnel and its strobing lights that simulated the feeling of moving at high speed.
[00:30:32] Here.
[00:30:33] Oh, like Space Mountain.
[00:30:35] Yeah.
[00:30:37] I had to get one.
[00:30:39] I had to get one in there.
[00:30:41] Because I don't know anything of what, I don't know what World of Motion even is.
[00:30:45] Here guests found themselves in the dawn of time.
[00:30:50] Enormous animatronic dinosaurs battled here in a misty swamp as a volcano and lava flowed in the background.
[00:30:57] Let's take a listen to that.
[00:30:59] Number four.
[00:31:01] Even his name was frightening.
[00:31:04] Tyrannosaurus Rex.
[00:31:47] A little Danny Elfman kind of-esque vibes in there.
[00:31:51] But every time, it just reminded me of whenever Taron comes downstairs in the morning.
[00:31:56] Dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun.
[00:31:58] Angry music.
[00:32:00] So, is this the Primeval World in Disneyland?
[00:32:05] Or was that open pre-this?
[00:32:08] It was not open.
[00:32:09] Well, I actually don't know if Primeval World was open yet.
[00:32:13] But I will tell you that the animatronic dinosaurs from here are now in the Primeval World.
[00:32:22] Yeah, that sounds-
[00:32:23] What is Primeval World?
[00:32:25] At the end of the Disneyland Railroad when you go around-
[00:32:29] The train.
[00:32:29] Oh, okay.
[00:32:30] At the end you go into the dinosaur diorama.
[00:32:33] Yeah.
[00:32:34] So-
[00:32:34] Because that's exactly what it sounded like.
[00:32:36] Like, it was-
[00:32:36] It sounded identical.
[00:32:38] I know it wasn't, but it sounded so similar.
[00:32:41] Yes, definitely the same feeling.
[00:32:42] And those are the animatronics from Magic Skyway.
[00:32:45] Oh, very cool.
[00:32:47] Cool.
[00:32:48] Yeah, because it sounds-
[00:32:49] I mean, I don't know if that was audio from Primeval World or Magic Skyway,
[00:32:55] but it sounds exactly like Walt saying that in the ride from what I remember, you know?
[00:33:00] I don't think it's Walt saying it in the ride anymore.
[00:33:03] Oh, really?
[00:33:03] Yeah.
[00:33:03] Well, actually, I don't know if it ever was, but-
[00:33:07] Because it's like, it's a different voice.
[00:33:09] It's like a-
[00:33:09] I can't remember who's doing the narration now.
[00:33:12] Yeah.
[00:33:13] But it was definitely very reminiscent.
[00:33:15] But it's been-
[00:33:16] Okay.
[00:33:17] He's been replaced.
[00:33:20] Because that instantly brought me back to that.
[00:33:23] Oh, 100%.
[00:33:24] To the Primeval World.
[00:33:25] Riding the train, you know-
[00:33:26] In that section that gets really hot.
[00:33:28] Yeah.
[00:33:29] And then that section where there's always somebody on the train that's like,
[00:33:31] you know that those two dinosaurs didn't live at the same time, right?
[00:33:35] Oh, yeah.
[00:33:35] Oh, yeah.
[00:33:36] That's a fine person.
[00:33:37] I don't know.
[00:33:38] Well, that's why you stopped sitting next to me.
[00:33:41] Well, and keen-eyed East Coast Disney fans will probably draw a comparison to the first part of
[00:33:52] universe of energy at Epcot when you go back in time to the dinosaurs whose fossils eventually became the oil we use today.
[00:34:03] Wow.
[00:34:05] Wow.
[00:34:05] Your creativity of Imagineer Mark Davis.
[00:34:09] Anybody know what he does?
[00:34:11] Mark Davis?
[00:34:12] He does everything.
[00:34:13] And he's a jerk.
[00:34:14] I couldn't-
[00:34:17] Didn't he do Pirates?
[00:34:19] He did.
[00:34:20] He sort of is what he-
[00:34:22] Mark Davis's signature is like humorous stuff.
[00:34:25] So he did all of the kooky, like World of Motion at Epcot had a lot of sort of like, it was a funny look at history.
[00:34:33] That's all Mark Davis.
[00:34:35] Mark Davis is pirates, definitely.
[00:34:39] All the playful, you know, pirates going in the fountain.
[00:34:43] Like, he likes to have the fun with it.
[00:34:45] Yeah.
[00:34:45] He made the country bears and he made the jungle cruise less serious.
[00:34:49] Yes, exactly.
[00:34:50] That's absolutely right.
[00:34:51] Okay.
[00:34:52] That's very important.
[00:34:53] Well, we can't be perfect all the time.
[00:34:55] You know, we're allowed to-
[00:34:56] Our flaws.
[00:34:57] So he provides a humorous look at a caveman struggling to conquer fire, language, and art after the advent of man.
[00:35:05] Number five.
[00:35:09] And now as the changing earth ends the rule of the reptiles, the magic skyway takes you forward in time once more.
[00:35:16] Toward the shadow of a new arrival, man.
[00:35:32] It's Beetlejuice-y.
[00:35:33] It's Elfman-like.
[00:35:34] A little bit, yeah.
[00:35:35] Yeah.
[00:35:35] Yeah.
[00:35:37] It's kind of creepy.
[00:35:41] That violin at the end was like a little-
[00:35:43] A little out of tune or whatever.
[00:35:45] Weird, yeah.
[00:35:45] Reptiles, huh?
[00:35:47] What I like about these is-
[00:35:49] It is-
[00:35:52] I have lost it.
[00:35:53] I lost.
[00:35:53] Oh, yeah.
[00:35:54] It is very, it is very like you can see the elements of sort of tiki, exotica lounge, you know, with like the ding, ding.
[00:36:05] And I can just hear in my mind a bird going, you know.
[00:36:11] Yeah.
[00:36:12] For sure.
[00:36:13] Sorry.
[00:36:13] Well, I think the thing, so now as you're talking, and I'm going totally off my script, but the thing I think I love about all of this is that, you know, here you're at the magic skyway.
[00:36:24] We're talking about transportation and the carousel of progress, which is like all of the advent of technology and how it impacts man and world of motion and horizons.
[00:36:35] Horizons had all of this quirky look back at, you know, the future as it was.
[00:36:42] And what I love about it is Disney's dealing with really profound concepts, you know, technology, its impact on humanity, where humanity's been, where humanity's going.
[00:36:55] I mean, these are deep, big, heavy, consequential ideas, but they're able to do it in a way that isn't intimidating.
[00:37:03] So it gets across a concept that's really profound in a playful, fun way that still appeals to a broad audience.
[00:37:15] It's not stupid and it's not too complex to be understood.
[00:37:21] It's just there.
[00:37:24] And I like that.
[00:37:24] Yeah, and I think that it is the music that does it.
[00:37:30] Because you can have these concepts and you can have any other music other than this and it would either be, it wouldn't fit.
[00:37:38] Like you couldn't have like just straight classical.
[00:37:40] Right.
[00:37:41] No.
[00:37:41] You know, you need something layered.
[00:37:43] You need something of substance to sort of, you know, I don't know the intricacies of crafting music for literally anything except beating on the table.
[00:37:54] But I would imagine that you're trying to not be distractive, distracting, excuse me, I don't know what distractive is, by your music, but also tie it in and so people can listen to it or not.
[00:38:07] But I think it's the, what I imagine the goal would be here is to make you not think about the music because you're looking at the thing, but the music is the background.
[00:38:17] And helping you evoke these kind of emotions or thoughts or reflections on your own life and how you impact the world or whatever.
[00:38:25] And I think that if the music was any different, I don't know that it would be as meaningful or as not imposing, but inspiring.
[00:38:41] You know what I mean?
[00:38:41] Like you're, cause just kind of playing off what you're saying, Jeremy, like a lot of stuff that came after the Magic Skyway took its inspiration from it.
[00:38:50] And I don't think that it would be that way if the music wasn't right.
[00:38:54] Right.
[00:38:55] Yeah.
[00:38:56] Well, what you just said made me think of something else that I read while I was looking into the, this topic.
[00:39:02] And it was that, um, Walt viewed the music as really, he viewed the music and the attractions and in the movies.
[00:39:12] So like he, and he saw these as almost the same thing, like movies, the rides, they were telling a story.
[00:39:20] And he viewed the music as the unifying thing that would take you from one place to the next.
[00:39:25] So when a scene cuts, it can be jarring, it can be abrupt, whether you're in a movie or whether you're going from one scene to another in an attraction.
[00:39:33] And he told the Imagineers that the music would be the thing that would smooth that.
[00:39:39] The music would be the thing that would carry you from one place to the next, but it shouldn't be the star of the show.
[00:39:44] The star of the show should be the, what you're seeing, but it should be there to carry you through without any, you know, without that jarring change.
[00:39:54] You know, it's funny that you mentioned that because on our, our newest show, the point of vista boys, where we talk about a live action, Disney old Disney movie.
[00:40:04] There's a lot of these movies like the shaggy dog or moon pilot where they're shot like TV and the, the, uh, the transitions from scene to scene can be very abrupt at times.
[00:40:16] And they do have that music that kind of carries you through.
[00:40:18] It's a couple of notes like do, do, do, do, do, do, or whatever.
[00:40:22] And it's very clear that they're, they're not really caring about how the transition kind of looks either because it's like shot for TV or as a long TV episode, or they didn't want to spend too much time on it.
[00:40:34] Or there's some, there's some thing about how storytelling has evolved over the, for the decades.
[00:40:40] And that is a very big point where the music does carry things through.
[00:40:44] And if that's wrong, if that's not there, that cut, like suddenly you're, you're in a kitchen and then suddenly you're, you know, in a field and you're like, what is happening right now?
[00:40:52] I have no idea.
[00:40:53] It's very, um, you're not relying on the script to transport you to the next scene.
[00:41:00] You're relying on the music to do it.
[00:41:03] Cause the scenes will have like nothing in common.
[00:41:05] Yeah.
[00:41:06] At all.
[00:41:06] Like where, where am I?
[00:41:07] Kind of like luminous.
[00:41:09] The symphony of us.
[00:41:15] Anyway, back to this.
[00:41:16] After guests witness the invention of the wheel, they travel through a second time tunnel featuring spinning wheels that have now evolved into the magic bullet of mechanized technology.
[00:41:26] And they arrive at a city of tomorrow.
[00:41:29] Number six.
[00:41:31] Ooh, I love a city tomorrow.
[00:41:33] One, two, three, four, five, six.
[00:41:34] Here we go.
[00:41:35] Wheels within wheels for industry's machines.
[00:41:38] Wheels for the automobile and the airplane.
[00:41:41] And just as the first wheel freed man from his cave, today they have carried us to the beginning of still another new age.
[00:41:49] And now the magic skyway becomes a highway in the sky, carrying you across the boundless night and out into time and space.
[00:41:57] We've come a long way in our journey with man.
[00:42:08] And here we are on the threshold of tomorrow.
[00:42:12] Perhaps someday we'll be riding rocket ships like those flashing overhead to anywhere in space.
[00:42:17] As we have seen along the magic skyway, man is always on the move, searching and dreaming beyond the horizons of today and bringing the promise of tomorrow ever closer to reality.
[00:42:34] Wow.
[00:42:36] Yeah.
[00:42:36] A little stinger there.
[00:42:38] Yeah.
[00:42:39] Yeah.
[00:42:39] Because you made a good point that the East Coast didn't get to the West Coast that much.
[00:42:43] So, like, this really brought that kind of vibe to people who couldn't get to Disneyland.
[00:42:49] And it's very interesting because that could have easily been anything at Disneyland.
[00:42:54] But I like that idea that you said, Jeremy.
[00:42:57] It never occurred to me that what the World's Fair had might be better than Disneyland in a lot of ways.
[00:43:02] Right.
[00:43:03] As far as the Disney attractions, the Disney created attractions there because they're all bangers.
[00:43:10] And even this one, even though it didn't make it back, you keep throwing the hints that you're going to get to with all the inspiration that came from it.
[00:43:18] This was the next level.
[00:43:20] This was worth abandoning Disneyland for a couple of years for.
[00:43:26] Well, and what you just said is so true because so I had two topics in mind.
[00:43:34] Okay.
[00:43:35] One was this.
[00:43:37] Yeah.
[00:43:38] And I was also sort of simultaneously looking at the music of Pirates of the Caribbean.
[00:43:43] We haven't done that?
[00:43:45] No.
[00:43:46] Whoa.
[00:43:48] Which, as I was reading about Pirates of the Caribbean, what you said, Disneyland was abandoned.
[00:43:53] And it's absolutely true.
[00:43:55] Disneyland.
[00:43:56] But it was good that it was good for it because, of course, all this innovation happened.
[00:44:03] Pirates of the Caribbean.
[00:44:04] I'm just going to do it.
[00:44:05] Yeah, there we go.
[00:44:05] Pirates of the Caribbean.
[00:44:06] Pirates of the Caribbean was meant to be a walkthrough attraction of wax pirates.
[00:44:12] It would have been so bad.
[00:44:15] But Disney sort of put a stop on Disney.
[00:44:18] Like, that was the concept.
[00:44:19] And then it was like, okay, well, hold on.
[00:44:21] We got to all focus.
[00:44:22] You know, I need, you know, you, Mark Davis, John Hench, all of you guys.
[00:44:27] Nope, we're focusing on World's Fair for the next few years, which is why Haunted Mansion was, you know, all these things were delayed for so long.
[00:45:01] In the early 60s.
[00:45:04] The other side of the berm because they needed, he needed more.
[00:45:07] He was like, this walkthrough attraction on the lower level of this building is not enough.
[00:45:11] So you're absolutely right.
[00:45:13] They were, it was abandoned.
[00:45:16] But gosh, thank God it was.
[00:45:18] Yeah, that park would be so different.
[00:45:19] So many boring museums.
[00:45:22] Dude, I wonder if it would still be the powerhouse that it is today.
[00:45:27] Because you talk about, you know, you ask anybody the top five rides at Disneyland.
[00:45:32] And if they don't mention Pirates of the Caribbean, they get shot out of a cannon into the sun.
[00:45:37] Like, you know what I mean?
[00:45:38] Punch them in the face.
[00:45:39] Exactly right.
[00:45:39] You can't, you can't, you can't have Disneyland without that ride.
[00:45:44] No.
[00:45:45] You can't have Disneyland without the Haunted Mansion.
[00:45:47] And because of those two rides specifically.
[00:45:50] And you know what?
[00:45:51] Let's throw in Small World too, because it is really influential.
[00:45:55] You, I don't think that Disneyland Park becomes a powerhouse tourist destination at, like it is,
[00:46:02] like it was back then, like it is today.
[00:46:04] And then therefore, I don't think that the Disneyland brand has as much weight.
[00:46:08] I don't think it moves enough or as much merchandise as it does now because of the hype and because
[00:46:13] people have been going for so long, for so many generations to the parks to see these
[00:46:18] specific three rides.
[00:46:20] I mean, no ride, no trip to the parks is complete without at least doing one of those three rides.
[00:46:25] You know that everybody knows that.
[00:46:26] Yeah.
[00:46:27] So yeah, I don't know.
[00:46:27] I feel like it would just be another theme park.
[00:46:30] The brand wouldn't be as strong as it is today if, if this didn't happen.
[00:46:34] I agree.
[00:46:36] And I also wonder, since we're wondering things, if, if they had made it a walk on ride.
[00:46:42] Yeah.
[00:46:43] Not even a ride, a walk on attraction.
[00:46:44] And then this happened.
[00:46:46] If Walt would have gone back and been like, and changed the whole thing.
[00:46:51] Right.
[00:46:52] Yeah.
[00:46:52] It's possible.
[00:46:53] Yeah.
[00:46:53] You would, you would have to think he'd be like, what did I do here?
[00:46:57] Yeah.
[00:46:58] Yeah.
[00:47:00] But even Jason, you were saying that, um, pirates was impacted by it's a small world,
[00:47:05] which is absolutely right from a transportation or like a law, a ride vehicle perspective,
[00:47:10] but also the wax figures went away because of great moments with Mr. Lincoln.
[00:47:15] So it's all these things coming together that really took pirates to the next level.
[00:47:21] Nice.
[00:47:22] It was like, it was like Walt's little playground.
[00:47:24] Yeah.
[00:47:25] Yeah.
[00:47:25] Yeah.
[00:47:26] That these companies.
[00:47:27] Yeah.
[00:47:28] Paid for.
[00:47:28] Yeah.
[00:47:29] Which he couldn't have done that.
[00:47:30] You know, how much money they were giving him to, to experiment and come up with this
[00:47:34] stuff.
[00:47:34] Yeah.
[00:47:35] Now, instead of.
[00:47:36] He was a smart guy.
[00:47:36] Instead of getting corporate sponsors.
[00:47:38] Now they just raise the park rate.
[00:47:40] So we pay for it.
[00:47:40] We pay for it.
[00:47:41] We're fun.
[00:47:41] We're subsidizing it.
[00:47:42] No, they do both.
[00:47:44] Actually.
[00:47:46] And then they're, and then cutting all the quality.
[00:47:48] It's great.
[00:47:50] Perfect.
[00:47:50] Love it.
[00:47:52] Oh, sure.
[00:47:56] Okay.
[00:47:56] Well, here we are in the space age city where the guest sees a city of spires and sparkling
[00:48:02] structures linked by free flowing highways against a starry sky.
[00:48:06] The vehicles then drive right into the futuristic buildings where they exit and see Ford created
[00:48:12] styling science and product showcases awaiting them after their guest departure.
[00:48:18] Number seven.
[00:48:19] You are about to enter the area where you will disembark.
[00:48:25] Please remain seated until the host opens the car door for you.
[00:48:30] Remember to take your personal belongings with you as you leave the car.
[00:48:35] Face forward and walk to the handrail on the moving platform.
[00:48:39] Thank you.
[00:48:43] So that's not like a great piece of music or anything.
[00:48:46] It's very ominous, man.
[00:48:48] It's like, this is what you, this is what you, uh, hear right before you face the monster,
[00:48:54] you know, the giant Gila monster or something like that.
[00:48:57] You're like, ah, I just wanted to play that because we're so used to hearing, you know,
[00:49:05] remove all of your things before you leave the ride vehicle and blah, blah, blah.
[00:49:09] And it's, it's just funny to hear a recording of that from 1964.
[00:49:16] I don't know.
[00:49:16] I just love the old versions of that.
[00:49:20] And I was like, oh yeah, here we're exiting.
[00:49:22] And like, it's the same sort of spiel.
[00:49:24] I don't know.
[00:49:25] I just like, I love hearing like the really old recording of the same exit spiel we hear
[00:49:29] in every attraction.
[00:49:30] Yeah.
[00:49:30] It's a little more formal too, I think.
[00:49:32] Yeah.
[00:49:33] In the old times.
[00:49:34] I don't know.
[00:49:34] It's yeah.
[00:49:36] And, and it was more ominous.
[00:49:38] It was kind of like.
[00:49:39] Da, da, da, da.
[00:49:40] Yeah.
[00:49:43] Walt intended to bring all four of his world's fair shows to Disneyland following the expo.
[00:49:49] And of course we know Carousel of Progress.
[00:49:51] It's a Small World and Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.
[00:49:54] Of course, all did.
[00:49:56] And thankfully they all still live on in the parks in some form today.
[00:50:00] Sorry, you don't have Carousel.
[00:50:02] In order to gain.
[00:50:04] That's all right.
[00:50:05] We have the launch bay.
[00:50:07] We have Star Wars things behind glasses we can look at.
[00:50:10] It's fun.
[00:50:11] Yeah.
[00:50:12] And in order to gain the interest of Ford execs in continuing their sponsorship of the Magic
[00:50:17] Skyway at Disneyland following the fair, the Sherman brothers composed a theme song to
[00:50:24] convince them.
[00:50:26] It was called Get the Feel of the Wheel, which was presented with ideas for a new Cruise O' Magic
[00:50:33] theater for Tomorrowland at Disneyland.
[00:50:36] Let's take a listen to the Sherman Brothers March.
[00:50:41] Number eight.
[00:50:42] Love it.
[00:50:43] Already.
[00:50:46] Wow.
[00:50:48] That's a wild.
[00:50:50] Hold on.
[00:50:50] That's a wild intro.
[00:50:51] What is that?
[00:50:53] What is that?
[00:50:55] This is.
[00:50:56] It's like.
[00:50:56] The feel of the wheel.
[00:50:57] It's like that horn.
[00:50:58] Yeah.
[00:50:59] It's not a horn.
[00:51:00] It sounds like a nylon string.
[00:51:02] Someone.
[00:51:06] Okay.
[00:51:09] Saddle back.
[00:51:11] Take command.
[00:51:13] Hold tomorrow in your hand.
[00:51:15] Get the feel of the wheel of the Ford.
[00:51:19] Feel the ride.
[00:51:21] As you glide.
[00:51:23] And you're envied and you're right.
[00:51:25] It's the feel of the wheel of the Ford.
[00:51:29] Dream of a dream car just for you.
[00:51:33] Ford makes your dream car dreams come true.
[00:51:36] So to know how it feels to have wings on your wheels.
[00:51:41] Get the feel of the wheel of the great automobile.
[00:51:45] Get the feel of the wheel of the Ford.
[00:51:51] We're staying to tell us how to play that on the.
[00:51:53] You know.
[00:51:55] It's not bad.
[00:51:57] The first half sucked.
[00:51:58] And then you kind of get used to it.
[00:52:00] You're like.
[00:52:00] Okay.
[00:52:00] I get it now.
[00:52:02] And it's cute.
[00:52:04] But.
[00:52:05] Well.
[00:52:05] It sounded to me just like Sister Suffragette.
[00:52:08] The.
[00:52:09] From Mary Poppins.
[00:52:11] Absolutely.
[00:52:12] It's so much like that.
[00:52:13] And I think that was also written by them.
[00:52:16] Yes.
[00:52:16] It was.
[00:52:18] Look at me.
[00:52:18] No one thinks.
[00:52:19] I like it.
[00:52:21] It does.
[00:52:22] Well.
[00:52:22] It was.
[00:52:22] It sort of like leads me to what I was going to say.
[00:52:26] Which is.
[00:52:26] Is.
[00:52:27] I love the Sherman Brothers.
[00:52:28] I do.
[00:52:29] And I love a lot of what they made.
[00:52:31] Yeah.
[00:52:31] But they were pretty one note.
[00:52:33] Yes.
[00:52:34] Like they sort of had their thing.
[00:52:35] And that was it.
[00:52:36] Yeah.
[00:52:36] Which I guess is fine.
[00:52:37] I guess that's how.
[00:52:38] I guess a lot of musicians are like that.
[00:52:41] But.
[00:52:41] I mean.
[00:52:42] Boy.
[00:52:42] They really had a thing.
[00:52:43] And they didn't.
[00:52:44] Beer from it.
[00:52:47] I mean look at Al Pacino.
[00:52:49] You know.
[00:52:50] He's the same.
[00:52:51] Same guy.
[00:52:52] Joe Pesci.
[00:52:53] Right.
[00:52:53] Right.
[00:52:54] Know what you're getting.
[00:52:57] Ultimately Ford execs passed on the idea of further sponsorship with Disney.
[00:53:01] And the Magic Skyway attraction ended with the World's Fair.
[00:53:05] But much of the concepts from the Magic Skyway have found their place at Disney Parks.
[00:53:11] The spinning wheel technology that propelled the vehicles of the Magic Skyway were proof of concept that enabled the development of the Wedway People Mover at Disneyland.
[00:53:20] The animatronic dinosaurs of the Magic Skyway.
[00:53:23] Skyway's Dawn of Time section live on in the Primeval World diorama at Disneyland's Railroad as we talked about.
[00:53:30] The Dawn of Time portion of the attraction inspired the opening segment of Epcot's Universe of Energy.
[00:53:36] Mark Davis went on to employ his quirky and humorous storytelling of humans invention of transportation at Epcot's World of Motion.
[00:53:43] World of Motion also featured an omnimover system that takes guests outside of the pavilion briefly before the start of their tour.
[00:53:51] And the finale City of the Future surely inspired the ending of Horizons with guests arriving in a dramatic two-story City of the Future.
[00:54:01] And even the auto parts harmonic helped influence the queue area of the first iteration of Test Track at Epcot when it replaced World of Motion in 1996.
[00:54:16] Number...
[00:54:17] Whatever the last audio is.
[00:54:30] Drop that beat.
[00:54:53] What is this?
[00:54:54] I don't know.
[00:54:55] Sounds like Alice's toy DJ set.
[00:55:01] What was that?
[00:55:02] It's like wild.
[00:55:04] So that's the key music for Test Track.
[00:55:06] Well, the old version of Test Track.
[00:55:08] Test Track 1.0.
[00:55:09] That was terrible.
[00:55:10] But it's all supposed to be made of the auto parts.
[00:55:14] Oh, see.
[00:55:14] It's like Taryn was saying.
[00:55:15] We're back.
[00:55:16] Yeah.
[00:55:16] We've come back.
[00:55:17] Full circle.
[00:55:18] Right.
[00:55:20] So the Magic Skyway has lived on in the Disney parks touching many areas.
[00:55:28] And that is the music of the Magic Skyway.
[00:55:31] Excellent.
[00:55:31] Very good, Jeremy.
[00:55:33] Very, very good.
[00:55:34] Except for that last song.
[00:55:36] That was good.
[00:55:38] You know, you were talking about bringing the parks or bringing the Disney vibe to the East Coast.
[00:55:49] And it reminded me of on Buena Vista Boys, which is our most recent podcast.
[00:55:54] You can get it anywhere.
[00:55:55] What Walt did to announce the release of Moon Pilot, which was 1962.
[00:56:04] He did a whole thing at Radio City Music Hall.
[00:56:07] And brought, you know, some of the characters out and did a whole actually stage show at Radio City Music Hall.
[00:56:14] And then for that, they had a Miss Disneyland.
[00:56:17] Oh, wow.
[00:56:18] And that was the first start of like the Disneyland Ambassador.
[00:56:21] Okay.
[00:56:22] And it was that very thing.
[00:56:24] Like they were thinking about Project X or whatever.
[00:56:27] And so they're like, well, let's test the waters or let's figure out.
[00:56:31] Let's bring some of this stuff to the East Coast.
[00:56:34] Because like Jeremy's saying, people didn't get out to the West Coast as often as Walt wanted to.
[00:56:39] So this, I think that was a big part, you know, as well of how the World's Fair and this thing sort of helped solidify the need for or the desire for a Disney World project like that.
[00:56:54] So he probably didn't, it might have even made him feel more secure about going as big as he did.
[00:56:59] Yeah.
[00:56:59] Well, and also like it sounds to me like so much sort of took inspiration from this, even though this didn't make it into the park.
[00:57:07] Like so much came from it that it almost is more important than some of the others that did make it.
[00:57:14] Yeah.
[00:57:15] That's a really good point.
[00:57:16] Yeah.
[00:57:17] Very good, Jeremy.
[00:57:18] That was awesome.
[00:57:19] Yeah.
[00:57:19] Never even heard of that.
[00:57:21] Magic Skyway.
[00:57:21] And you know, a lot of basically, you know, how life imitates art.
[00:57:27] Just like we got a lot of great rides from the Magic Skyway or because of the Magic Skyway, because of the music of the Magic Skyway,
[00:57:35] we're going to get the music of Pirates of the Caribbean from Jeremy.
[00:57:40] So it all comes together.
[00:57:41] I love it.
[00:57:42] Yeah.
[00:57:43] Yeah.
[00:57:44] I don't know.
[00:57:45] He's backtracking.
[00:57:46] There's a reason I didn't pick it.
[00:57:48] What is it?
[00:57:49] There's a reason I haven't done it in lo these many years.
[00:57:52] I've been coming on here since 2016.
[00:57:54] Yeah, why?
[00:57:55] It's not that interesting.
[00:57:57] Oh, bummer.
[00:57:59] One song.
[00:57:59] Oh, I guess that's true.
[00:58:00] You know what?
[00:58:01] Yeah, you're right.
[00:58:02] Yeah.
[00:58:03] That is true.
[00:58:05] It's a quick spectro time.
[00:58:07] It's spectro time minus.
[00:58:10] The spectro minute.
[00:58:11] I can give it to you now.
[00:58:13] You know, here's what it is.
[00:58:15] No, I'll save it because maybe I could like draw it out or like, you know, do something with a movie.
[00:58:21] So I will try and save it.
[00:58:22] Oh, yeah.
[00:58:22] I like the movie songs.
[00:58:23] It's been on my list.
[00:58:25] I have a list that I keep of things that are possibilities.
[00:58:28] And I tried.
[00:58:29] I tried.
[00:58:29] That was what I wanted to do.
[00:58:31] And then I ended up going towards Magic Skyway because it was easier.
[00:58:34] Yeah.
[00:58:35] Makes sense.
[00:58:36] And it's just more to it.
[00:58:38] Yeah.
[00:58:38] There's more things to listen to.
[00:58:39] I mean, how many times can you play Yo-Ho?
[00:58:41] Not that many.
[00:58:42] Yeah, I know, right?
[00:58:44] That's a good point.
[00:58:45] I didn't think about that.
[00:58:46] It's just there's one song.
[00:58:49] Yeah.
[00:58:49] I mean, there's like variations on it.
[00:58:51] There's variations.
[00:58:52] Right, right, right.
[00:58:52] And we could probably do something with the voice.
[00:58:57] I don't know.
[00:58:58] It's probably the Tokyo version.
[00:59:00] But they're probably all the same.
[00:59:02] That's true.
[00:59:03] There is.
[00:59:03] And actually, like the one in Paris is in French, which is kind of neat to hear.
[00:59:08] Yeah.
[00:59:09] But then it is also like there's no history.
[00:59:11] It's just literally in French.
[00:59:13] It's just in French.
[00:59:13] You're like, okay, that's great.
[00:59:14] Yeah, here it is in French.
[00:59:16] Yo-ho!
[00:59:16] Wet hole!
[00:59:17] Don't you?
[00:59:19] Which is really great.
[00:59:20] Yeah.
[00:59:21] All right, everybody.
[00:59:22] We are going to take a break.
[00:59:23] We're going to come back.
[00:59:24] We're going to do some Disney news.
[00:59:26] Maybe Jeremy will stay with us.
[00:59:27] Maybe he won't.
[00:59:27] I don't really know.
[00:59:28] I will.
[00:59:29] I haven't.
[00:59:30] I don't know anything about Disney news anymore.
[00:59:33] I'm so out of it.
[00:59:34] But I'm going to hear the comment.
[00:59:35] It'll be good learnings for me.
[00:59:37] There we go.
[00:59:38] Yeah.
[00:59:39] What have you been doing with your life?
[00:59:40] Your retirement from the channel?
[00:59:42] What have you been doing?
[00:59:43] Interesting things that don't involve Disney.
[00:59:46] I love it.
[00:59:47] Wow.
[00:59:48] Yeah, same, man.
[00:59:50] What is that like?
[00:59:50] Hang on just a second.
[00:59:51] We are going to be right back.
[00:59:59] In-depth.
[01:00:00] Reporting Disney news that's probably not made up.
[01:00:03] In-depth.
[01:00:04] Oh, I mean, sorry.
[01:00:05] That's not what I thought it was.
[01:00:09] Oh, in-depth.
[01:00:10] You know.
[01:00:11] Back to ears up where the opinions never stop.
[01:00:14] That's how to get Jeremy a thrill.
[01:00:16] Ever.
[01:00:16] Or a heart attack.
[01:00:18] A flashback.
[01:00:20] PTSD is flaring up.
[01:00:22] Rose the wine glass runs.
[01:00:25] Yeah.
[01:00:26] No, Jeremy's MO is he'll just hang up.
[01:00:29] Yeah.
[01:00:30] In two weeks?
[01:00:31] I gotta go.
[01:00:36] Before we get to the news, you guys.
[01:00:38] Yeah.
[01:00:39] As the sun dips below the horizon and autumn approaches, there's a moment to savor.
[01:00:44] And we've brewed that moment into every can of Hell or High Twilight.
[01:00:48] What?
[01:00:48] Which is the newest citrus wheat beer from the 21st Amendment brewery.
[01:00:53] It is not your ordinary wheat beer.
[01:00:55] Hell or High Twilight dances on your tongue with soft sweetness, then bursts open with bright,
[01:01:00] fresh citrus peel flavor and aroma.
[01:01:02] It's crisp.
[01:01:03] It's refreshing.
[01:01:04] And at just 5.6% ABV, it's the ideal beer whenever you want to bring a little bit of
[01:01:10] twilight into your day.
[01:01:11] Or for those easy evenings spent under the stars.
[01:01:15] Or roasting in 80 degree heat at 922.
[01:01:19] But that's okay.
[01:01:20] That's fine.
[01:01:21] Well, why don't you put it on the AC?
[01:01:23] It's on.
[01:01:25] Yeah.
[01:01:25] Yeah.
[01:01:26] It's a whole thing, man.
[01:01:27] So whether you're winding down or gearing up, crack open Hell or High Twilight and let
[01:01:31] the season unfold.
[01:01:32] Available now wherever 21st Amendment beers are sold.
[01:01:36] And apparently, they have a seasonal release called Pumpkin Hazy, which is like biting
[01:01:41] into a pumpkin pie.
[01:01:43] Spiced, smooth, and full of fall flavors.
[01:01:46] If you like hazy beers.
[01:01:47] Well, actually, I don't even know if it's a...
[01:01:50] I mean, it says hazy, but I don't know if it's like a hazy IPA or not.
[01:01:54] But I love a pumpkin beer.
[01:01:55] I'm always going to try a pumpkin beer.
[01:01:56] Yeah.
[01:01:56] Because I think they could be really good.
[01:01:58] So I'm definitely going to pick some of that out.
[01:02:00] Cool.
[01:02:01] Yeah.
[01:02:01] I like pumpkin.
[01:02:02] I love pumpkin flavored stuff.
[01:02:05] This is like I bought my pumpkin candle burning and I love it.
[01:02:08] Yes.
[01:02:09] That's the best smell.
[01:02:10] I do too.
[01:02:11] You know what?
[01:02:12] And for a long time, I fought it because it's like not manly or whatever, you know?
[01:02:16] And then one year, it was like 10, 15 years ago, I was like, I don't care.
[01:02:21] I love a pumpkin everything.
[01:02:24] Pumpkin-ify my entire food supply for the next three months.
[01:02:27] I don't care.
[01:02:28] Go for it.
[01:02:28] I love it.
[01:02:29] I'm here for it.
[01:02:31] Yeah.
[01:02:31] That and like cinnamon, like the cinnamon smell.
[01:02:33] Like, you know, you go to Trader Joe's.
[01:02:35] Bro, love it.
[01:02:36] I love it so much.
[01:02:37] Yeah.
[01:02:37] Like the pumpkin spice latte, I don't go to Starbucks.
[01:02:41] I probably go to Starbucks once a year and it's to get that.
[01:02:45] And it is delicious.
[01:02:47] Enjoy it.
[01:02:47] And it is the most basic and it is way too expensive now, but man, worth it.
[01:02:53] That's true.
[01:02:54] For that one time.
[01:02:54] That's true.
[01:02:55] Yeah.
[01:02:55] Get it one time.
[01:02:56] You mark the entry of the season and you call it a day.
[01:02:59] Exactly.
[01:03:00] Love it.
[01:03:01] Love it.
[01:03:01] Me too.
[01:03:02] I love it.
[01:03:03] No, I do.
[01:03:03] No, I love it.
[01:03:04] March in the past, present and future with all the news that's fit to cover.
[01:03:09] It's the Ears Up Disney News.
[01:03:15] All right.
[01:03:16] We have some news.
[01:03:17] I'm not going to cover too much because we've already been at it for a while.
[01:03:20] But also, we're doing a secret show tomorrow night, everybody, on YouTube.
[01:03:24] Oh.
[01:03:25] Yeah.
[01:03:27] But there are some stories.
[01:03:29] Oh, is Jeremy going to come?
[01:03:30] Eight o'clock.
[01:03:32] Same time.
[01:03:33] I might be able to.
[01:03:33] Hey, hey.
[01:03:34] That's going to be a game time decision, though, because I'm having drinks in the afternoon
[01:03:37] and I don't know what state I could be in.
[01:03:40] It is the secret show.
[01:03:41] Wait, aren't you working tomorrow from home?
[01:03:44] Yeah, but like at four o'clock, we meet for drinks.
[01:03:46] Oh, okay.
[01:03:47] Four o'clock's okay.
[01:03:48] Yeah, why not?
[01:03:51] That's fair.
[01:03:53] So I don't want to cover everything because, you know, the Disney News train doesn't run
[01:03:59] too quickly every once in a while.
[01:04:01] And this week is one of those wiles.
[01:04:03] But apparently there's a five-year-old boy who suffered seizures on a Disney ride and
[01:04:07] was saved by a passing couple and staff, say the parents.
[01:04:11] Ernesto Taggle III passed out while writing Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind on
[01:04:17] Saturday, September 21st.
[01:04:21] One sec.
[01:04:22] Did you say Ernesto Taggle III?
[01:04:25] Yeah.
[01:04:25] Oh, Taggle's his last name.
[01:04:27] Yeah.
[01:04:28] Okay.
[01:04:28] I was thinking it was like a middle name and I was like...
[01:04:31] The Third is his last name.
[01:04:33] From the Tennessee The Thirds.
[01:04:37] That's not really what I thought.
[01:04:38] But like in my head, I was like, who names their...
[01:04:45] See, and I was almost going to put on the Taryn Thinks music to load it up here because
[01:04:51] I took it out and now I should have.
[01:04:53] That is the most beautiful...
[01:04:59] Oh, man.
[01:05:05] Whatever.
[01:05:06] Continue with the freaking story.
[01:05:14] Well, according to Mr. and Mrs. The Third...
[01:05:19] Oh, jeez.
[01:05:21] Oh, man.
[01:05:24] See, don't you miss this chair.
[01:05:26] Jeremy went to the time tunnel.
[01:05:29] He went to the time tunnel of Magic Skyway.
[01:05:31] I just thought it was weird that they thought Ernesto Taggle was such a good name that they
[01:05:36] should just keep it going.
[01:05:38] It was something odd about the name.
[01:05:40] Yes.
[01:05:41] Yes.
[01:05:42] Three times.
[01:05:43] Yeah, for sure.
[01:05:45] Is he all right?
[01:05:46] Yeah, I know.
[01:05:47] He just gave birth to Ernesto the Fourth.
[01:05:51] Yeah.
[01:05:52] The Third, the Fourth.
[01:05:54] The parents of a five-year-old boy who collapsed while riding a Disney World roller coaster are
[01:05:58] quote, thankful that strangers and staff helped say this.
[01:06:02] Why the word thankful in quotes?
[01:06:05] Can't you just say thankful?
[01:06:07] Yeah, I don't get that.
[01:06:09] Yeah, I know like you want to...
[01:06:10] That's what the parents probably said, but do you need to just say thankful?
[01:06:14] I don't know.
[01:06:15] That's weird writing.
[01:06:16] Yeah.
[01:06:18] While riding a Disney World quote-unquote roller coaster are thankful...
[01:06:22] I don't mean, whatever.
[01:06:22] Uh, Christine Taggle and Ernesto Taggle Jr. shared in a social media post that on Saturdays
[01:06:29] at the 21st, their son Ernesto passed out during a ride.
[01:06:32] Um, they said they have found out that he wasn't breathing and started going into seizures.
[01:06:37] I was screaming, hitting him, and saying something's wrong, she recalled to the outlet.
[01:06:42] The Instagram post family shared they said the concerned mother started CPR along with
[01:06:48] chest compressions, and another passing couple on the ride helped them get our son breathing
[01:06:52] again.
[01:06:53] Jeez.
[01:06:53] They also got additional staff, uh, or additional help from Disney staff who brought over an
[01:06:58] AED, which is that medical, you know, shock, heart shocker thing.
[01:07:03] And then he was transported to the ER via helicopter, which ran tests, and he had a rare heart condition
[01:07:09] called CPVT, which causes an irregular heart rhythm that can be life-threatening, according
[01:07:15] to Cedars-Sinai.
[01:07:16] This can occur when someone is physically active or emotionally stressed, like on Guardians of
[01:07:22] the Galaxy.
[01:07:23] I mean, that's, you know.
[01:07:24] Yeah.
[01:07:24] Uh, apparently he has to have surgery to place an EV, ICD, or extravascular defibrillator,
[01:07:32] defibrillator, which treats sudden cardiac arrest and abnormal heart rhythms on his body.
[01:07:38] Oh my God.
[01:07:38] Poor child.
[01:07:39] Five years old.
[01:07:41] Yeah.
[01:07:42] Um.
[01:07:43] Poor little guy.
[01:07:44] Yeah.
[01:07:45] Yeah.
[01:07:45] That's, that's crazy, man.
[01:07:47] And like, I read this headline and I'm going, you know, that someone in the, in the Disney
[01:07:50] world subreddit or something was like, do you guys know what happened on Guardians of the
[01:07:55] Galaxy?
[01:07:55] I was so mad.
[01:07:56] They shut the ride down and we didn't even get any extra lightning lane passes.
[01:08:00] Yeah.
[01:08:02] They are really cranky over there.
[01:08:04] Um, yeah.
[01:08:05] So, you know, that's sad news, but also good news that this kid survived and they found
[01:08:10] it now and, uh, everything was, uh, everything was great.
[01:08:12] Yeah.
[01:08:13] I'm glad he's doing, I'm glad he's doing well.
[01:08:15] I get emotionally distressed when I watch luminous, the symphony of us.
[01:08:20] Maybe you should get your heart checked out.
[01:08:23] Maybe you need an EC IUD or whatever it is.
[01:08:28] Jeremy, there are specialty French fries coming to Walt Disney world.
[01:08:33] Oh, I can't wait.
[01:08:33] Tell me more about them.
[01:08:34] Why are they special?
[01:08:38] Well, there's something called barbecue fries.
[01:08:41] Okay.
[01:08:42] And, uh, these people are saying, if you've got the barbecue fries, you're missing the
[01:08:46] summer vibes already.
[01:08:47] What does that mean?
[01:08:48] If you got the barbecue fries, then why would I be missing summer vibes already?
[01:08:53] So you're missing the summer vibes.
[01:08:54] So it demands that you buy the fries.
[01:08:57] I got them in the past and now I miss the vibes.
[01:09:02] Oh, okay.
[01:09:03] Maybe, um, you get, this is all beginning.
[01:09:06] Weird writing.
[01:09:07] Yeah.
[01:09:08] Uh, it's all beginning October 9th.
[01:09:10] Um, so there you go.
[01:09:13] Few things say summer, like some barbecue bites.
[01:09:17] You love soaking up the fresh air and basking in that sunshine.
[01:09:21] Little rattles you little rattles you.
[01:09:23] Your friends can count on you.
[01:09:25] Is this, what is this?
[01:09:26] What website is this?
[01:09:27] A frigging horoscope?
[01:09:28] WDW info?
[01:09:29] Oh yeah.
[01:09:30] Is this a horoscope?
[01:09:32] Right.
[01:09:32] Comparing to your fry?
[01:09:33] Like, I hate, this is the, the dumbest, most basic writing style.
[01:09:39] Yeah.
[01:09:40] Blah.
[01:09:40] I hate it.
[01:09:41] I don't even think it's human.
[01:09:42] It's insulting.
[01:09:43] It may not.
[01:09:43] No, it's human.
[01:09:45] This is no, no computer is dumb like this.
[01:09:48] This is insulting writing.
[01:09:50] Well, and also I am rattled the same amount, whether it's summer or spring or winter.
[01:09:57] Which is always eight out of 10.
[01:09:59] Yeah.
[01:09:59] It doesn't matter.
[01:10:00] I'm a constant rattle.
[01:10:00] Right.
[01:10:00] Yeah.
[01:10:01] Don't tell me.
[01:10:02] So I'm just going to read what they are.
[01:10:04] So barbecue French fries are seasoned French fries topped with coleslaw, sweet barbecue
[01:10:07] sauce, and ketchup aioli.
[01:10:10] French fries are going to get all icky.
[01:10:12] They're going to get all soft.
[01:10:12] You need the barbecue and the ketchup.
[01:10:14] Yeah.
[01:10:14] Pass.
[01:10:15] I don't want these.
[01:10:16] Yeah.
[01:10:16] I don't want those either.
[01:10:17] Well, if you want them, you can get them at the Regal Eagle Smokehouse at Epcot.
[01:10:21] You can also get street corn fries.
[01:10:24] That sounds better.
[01:10:26] French fries topped with roasted corn relish, cotija cheese, and cilantro lime crema.
[01:10:32] So, you know, like the...
[01:10:34] Lotte's.
[01:10:34] Lotte.
[01:10:35] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[01:10:36] But I still pass.
[01:10:36] Do you want me to read the descriptions that these people wrote?
[01:10:41] Oh, yeah.
[01:10:43] Yeah.
[01:10:43] Like the street corn fries, you have a little edge to you.
[01:10:48] People are drawn to your ability to do your own thing while keeping with the trends.
[01:10:53] You can be a little spicy or a little sweet depending on the day.
[01:10:58] But that keeps things interesting.
[01:11:00] Who wrote that?
[01:11:02] Somebody got paid to write that.
[01:11:04] On WDWinfo.com.
[01:11:06] Oh, God.
[01:11:08] It's insane.
[01:11:09] It's insane.
[01:11:10] They thought they ate with this.
[01:11:12] Also, like, why is street corn edgy?
[01:11:16] I don't know, man.
[01:11:17] Like, if anything, it's like rounded.
[01:11:18] Yeah.
[01:11:19] You can do your own thing, but keep with the trends.
[01:11:21] Yeah, that's just being a human being.
[01:11:23] It's a very popular snack in certain parts of the country.
[01:11:28] You can get it at the Disney's All-Star Music Resort, at the Intermission Food Court.
[01:11:33] You can get it at Disney's Port Orleans Resort and Disney's Pop Century Resort.
[01:11:39] Those are far away.
[01:11:40] These are one for Taryn.
[01:11:43] Black garlic, truffle, and Parmesan fries.
[01:11:46] Oh, yeah.
[01:11:47] Yeah, that sounds good.
[01:11:48] Yeah.
[01:11:48] Yeah.
[01:11:48] All about it.
[01:11:49] It's funny, because the only thing it says is that your breath stinks.
[01:11:53] Well, yeah.
[01:11:54] It says, oh, you've got a taste for the finer things in life.
[01:11:57] Sure do.
[01:11:57] And that's perfectly okay.
[01:11:59] You like to treat yourself, and that includes your taste buds.
[01:12:02] It really is judging a person on which of these fries they want to eat.
[01:12:06] Yeah.
[01:12:06] It's so weird.
[01:12:07] With flavors like truffle, you recognize quality when you see it.
[01:12:13] And we love that for you.
[01:12:14] Thank you.
[01:12:14] Yeah.
[01:12:15] Yeah.
[01:12:15] Okay.
[01:12:16] Yeah, because their fake truffle oil is so good.
[01:12:20] Also, when I hear all of these descriptions, all I think of is my fingers are going to be greasy.
[01:12:26] Yeah.
[01:12:27] That's fair.
[01:12:27] Like, I'm like, there's no clean way to eat this, and I'm just annoyed.
[01:12:30] With a fork.
[01:12:31] That's what I think.
[01:12:32] Yeah.
[01:12:33] You're going to be fancy.
[01:12:34] Yeah.
[01:12:34] They're basically making poutine, but like in different varieties of poutine.
[01:12:39] Yeah, I guess.
[01:12:40] Yeah.
[01:12:40] Columbia Harbor House at Magic Kingdom, Cosmic Rays at Magic Kingdom, Pinocchio Village House
[01:12:45] at Magic Kingdom, and Connections at Epcot.
[01:12:48] You can get that.
[01:12:49] Oh, geez.
[01:12:49] It's everywhere.
[01:12:50] Amazing Magic Munch Fries.
[01:12:53] These are French fries topped with sweet corn, chipotle mayonnaise, chili lime spice,
[01:12:57] cojita cheese, and popcorn.
[01:12:59] What?
[01:13:00] Yeah.
[01:13:00] No.
[01:13:01] Yeah.
[01:13:02] Just corn in all the ways.
[01:13:03] If you got these fries, you are the life of the party.
[01:13:08] You keep the energy high and are always in charge of the snacks.
[01:13:13] A combination of sweet and savory, you get along with everyone and love spending time with
[01:13:19] your friends.
[01:13:20] There's never a dull moment or lack of flavor when you're around.
[01:13:24] Oh, wow.
[01:13:25] Can you imagine?
[01:13:26] It's like a den mother vibe.
[01:13:28] It's like, does everybody have their snacks?
[01:13:30] The one that you wanted.
[01:13:31] I picked this specifically for you because you're the life of the party.
[01:13:36] Flame Tree Barbecue at Animal Kingdom and Restaurantosaurus, which I wonder if that's going
[01:13:41] to change since dinosaurs are closing, but I don't know.
[01:13:43] And also, that one sounds gross.
[01:13:45] That's just like stupid.
[01:13:46] It's weird.
[01:13:47] It's definitely what a child would create.
[01:13:51] Just put popcorn on it.
[01:13:52] Cuban fries.
[01:13:53] It's like a Cuban sandwich.
[01:13:55] Seasoned French fries topped with mustard and Swiss cheese sauce.
[01:13:58] Swiss cheese sauce.
[01:14:00] Ham and pickles.
[01:14:02] I mean, I guess.
[01:14:04] I would rather just have a Cuban with a set of fries.
[01:14:07] Yeah.
[01:14:07] I mean, yeah.
[01:14:09] Based off an icon for a reason, the Cuban fries, like you, have it all.
[01:14:14] Some cheese, sauce, some protein, and some pickles.
[01:14:19] Speaking of pickles, like them, you may not be everyone's cup of tea, but you don't care
[01:14:24] because you're happy and that's what matters.
[01:14:26] They gave up at this one.
[01:14:27] They're just like, I don't know what to say.
[01:14:30] I have no idea.
[01:14:31] Wow.
[01:14:32] They should have given up like four recipes.
[01:14:34] This doesn't merit an article.
[01:14:37] Disney's serving some fries with different toppings.
[01:14:39] I don't think that anyone needs to read about it or write about it or know about like, yeah.
[01:14:46] And then know where they are.
[01:14:47] Oh, let me.
[01:14:48] Hold on.
[01:14:49] Let me get my travel agent on the phone.
[01:14:51] Can you get me down to Disney World and make sure that I'm at Restaurant-a-saurus on one
[01:14:56] of the days because what are you talking about?
[01:14:59] It's just a top up at this place and it's there.
[01:15:01] You're like, oh, I'll get that.
[01:15:03] You put me at Restaurant-a-saurus.
[01:15:04] Well, how about this?
[01:15:05] I'm skipping the, okay, they have buffalo ones, but strawberry chocolate fries.
[01:15:09] Oh, no.
[01:15:11] Cinnamon sugar dusted French fries topped with chocolate ganache, strawberries, and honey
[01:15:16] cream cheese.
[01:15:17] And in the picture, they're sprinkles.
[01:15:20] Absolutely not.
[01:15:21] That is disgusting.
[01:15:23] I hate everyone.
[01:15:24] Yeah.
[01:15:24] The romantic in you is alive and well.
[01:15:27] You're like, you like the sweeter things in life, much like these strawberry chocolate
[01:15:30] fries.
[01:15:31] You're a bit of a softie and in touch with your emotions.
[01:15:34] You're always there for your friends and love a little heart to heart, especially over
[01:15:39] some sweets.
[01:15:39] Okay.
[01:15:40] This one actually angers me because you're at Disney World.
[01:15:45] There are plenty of options for something sweet.
[01:15:48] You don't need your French fries to be sweet.
[01:15:51] What?
[01:15:52] Like, that is not an option that is needed or that anybody wants.
[01:15:57] I don't know.
[01:15:57] Maybe.
[01:15:59] Yeah.
[01:15:59] Like in six years, the cake shop's going to open.
[01:16:05] Jeremy, this is going to piss you off.
[01:16:08] No, it closed.
[01:16:09] Oh, no.
[01:16:11] Control shift T.
[01:16:13] Now it pissed off Jason.
[01:16:16] Unless you.
[01:16:16] I'm just going to just.
[01:16:18] Apple shift T.
[01:16:19] Who cares?
[01:16:21] I don't even know.
[01:16:22] Jeremy, our friend Rachel Ziegler is back in the news.
[01:16:27] Oh, God.
[01:16:28] Well, it shows she's not going to go away until this movie comes and goes and it won't
[01:16:32] come and go.
[01:16:33] It's like, oh, well, I'm like, is it going to come out in the theaters already so we
[01:16:36] can not watch it?
[01:16:39] Disney's live action Snow White remake has been confirmed to have made a big but necessary
[01:16:44] change to the title character's name, which copies a decision Disney had already made in
[01:16:49] a TV show with a 78% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes.
[01:16:54] Since the 2010s, Disney has been riding the wave of live action remakes of some of its animated
[01:16:59] movies.
[01:17:00] Yada, yada, yada.
[01:17:01] God, the next one in line is Snow White.
[01:17:04] And this is so frozen.
[01:17:07] It won't even scroll.
[01:17:07] There you go.
[01:17:08] The Snow White live action remake will keep the same premise as the animated classic.
[01:17:13] But.
[01:17:15] Hold on.
[01:17:16] Now I got whatever.
[01:17:17] Hold on.
[01:17:17] It's like stalling.
[01:17:19] So I scrolled too far and then it like stuttered and then now it's too far and I have to like
[01:17:23] scroll back, but I have to wait for it to catch up.
[01:17:26] I love the suspense.
[01:17:27] God, bro.
[01:17:28] Okay.
[01:17:32] But like every other remake of this kind, it's expected to have various changes.
[01:17:36] Starring in Snow White, our Rachel.
[01:17:38] Dude.
[01:17:39] Let me.
[01:17:40] I know who's in it.
[01:17:42] I know who's in it.
[01:17:43] The latest reveal about Snow White is a change in the origin of the character's name, a decision
[01:17:48] that Disney had already made 13 years ago.
[01:17:50] So there's two paragraphs that say the same stupid thing.
[01:17:52] The Brothers Grimm version of Snow White explains the origin of the character's name
[01:17:56] and it's purely based on her physical appearance.
[01:17:58] The story begins with a queen sewing at an open window during a snowfall.
[01:18:04] The queen pricks her finger with a needle and three drops of blood fall on the snow on
[01:18:08] the black windowsill.
[01:18:09] The queen then says to herself how she wishes to have a daughter with skin as white as snow,
[01:18:15] lips as red as blood, and hair as black as ebony.
[01:18:19] And then she has a kid, names it Snow White.
[01:18:22] Bam.
[01:18:22] Although Snow White and the Seven Dwarves doesn't explain the character's name, it is understood
[01:18:26] that it's the same as in the Brothers Grimm's tale due to her physical appearance.
[01:18:30] This will be different in the live action Snow White remake, who in an interview with
[01:18:35] Variety Zegler explained that her character's name comes from having survived a snowstorm
[01:18:39] when she was a baby.
[01:18:41] According to Zegler, the king and queen decided to name their daughter Snow White to remind
[01:18:45] her of her resilience.
[01:18:48] Inspirational.
[01:18:49] Yeah, that doesn't bother me that much that they're changing that.
[01:18:52] I just can't stand Rachel Zegler being like, weird, weird, weird.
[01:18:59] And like that weird interview we played with her.
[01:19:01] I think she's painful to see.
[01:19:03] She's been quiet.
[01:19:04] And she's not a good actress.
[01:19:05] Lately.
[01:19:06] She's been quiet.
[01:19:06] Oh, I think Disney was like, shut the F up.
[01:19:08] Yeah.
[01:19:09] Say another word and we're not paying you.
[01:19:11] Yeah.
[01:19:11] Yeah.
[01:19:12] So there's that.
[01:19:13] So there you go.
[01:19:14] That's the change.
[01:19:15] But apparently what I think this article was, it was getting ahead of the movie coming out,
[01:19:21] getting ahead of the story to like reinforce the fact that this was already done 13 years
[01:19:26] ago.
[01:19:27] No one said anything because it has a 78% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
[01:19:32] So therefore, they're the arbiter of what is popular and what is not.
[01:19:37] You know, the show was good.
[01:19:40] Yeah.
[01:19:40] Yeah.
[01:19:41] I guess.
[01:19:42] I like this.
[01:19:43] Why do I have this open?
[01:19:46] What is this?
[01:19:48] It's a cat.
[01:19:49] I just want her to not be such a bad actor.
[01:19:52] Well, yeah.
[01:19:53] I mean, I think, I think you're, I think you're screwed on that.
[01:19:56] I can't even picture who she is.
[01:19:58] Like, I don't even actually know who she is.
[01:20:02] She was in West Side Story.
[01:20:04] That was like her, the movie West Side Story was like one of her bigger.
[01:20:09] Yeah.
[01:20:10] Yeah.
[01:20:10] I think that's the only thing I've seen with her.
[01:20:13] Yeah.
[01:20:14] Okay.
[01:20:15] Two more, you know, good, good stories, I suppose.
[01:20:19] One, prices have gotten a little bit out of control.
[01:20:22] Analyst admits Disney World may finally be getting too expensive.
[01:20:26] You think?
[01:20:27] The price increases have certainly helped Disneyland's bottom line when it comes to stockholders.
[01:20:31] The Disney Experiences division, which includes the theme parks and cruise line, is often the primary profit center for the entire company.
[01:20:38] And the endless drive to make more money this quarter than last quarter has forced Disney to make massive layoffs while also increasing prices.
[01:20:47] However, during the company's last quarterly earnings call, it warned that it expected a softening of attendance or, in corporate speak, a moderation of consumer demand.
[01:20:59] Moderation of consumer demand.
[01:21:00] That's clever.
[01:21:01] However, coming in the short term, speaking to Yahoo Finance, Morningstar analyst Matthew Dolgan wondered if the price increases may have gone too far, saying, quote,
[01:21:11] quote, my one area of concern is whether it's a longer term issue as prices have gotten a little bit out of control versus a shorter term economically tied type of issue.
[01:21:20] I don't know how much of this is a natural cyclical thing versus whether they have pushed the envelope a little bit too much on pricing.
[01:21:27] But that's the biggest thing that concerns me rather than their investment in the business.
[01:21:32] Blah, blah, blah.
[01:21:33] And I think that's I don't know.
[01:21:34] I wanted to read that real fast.
[01:21:35] Number one, because we can't we haven't been able to afford to go for a couple of years now.
[01:21:38] But I think it's interesting that whenever there's an article, any sort of like finance website about analysts saying, yeah, I think now's the line in the sand where let's start worrying a little bit.
[01:21:52] You know, it's like they're challenging Disney fans who inevitably step up and many of them continue going and paying the prices because we've been hearing the same story for years.
[01:22:02] That's that's that's description of of shareholders driving, driving changes in the parks and everything else.
[01:22:11] It is.
[01:22:11] Yes, that's capitalism.
[01:22:12] That's what a publicly traded company does.
[01:22:15] It sucks that you can't have creatives running the place, but.
[01:22:20] That's yeah, that's what it is.
[01:22:23] I don't know.
[01:22:25] Jeremy, are you still going to Epcot and all that kind of stuff?
[01:22:29] My frequency of visits has has diminished significantly.
[01:22:34] When was the last time you went?
[01:22:40] I've gone two days this summer.
[01:22:43] Wow.
[01:22:44] Oh, wow.
[01:22:44] Very significant drop.
[01:22:47] A lot.
[01:22:47] Considering I own property in Orlando and in there all the time.
[01:22:50] Yeah, that's the significant because like there's times where I go to Orlando, I don't even go to Disney World.
[01:22:55] Yeah, I'm 15 minutes from Epcot's doorstep and I don't go.
[01:22:59] Yeah, because I don't need it.
[01:23:01] I don't.
[01:23:02] What am I going for to be annoyed by luminous to be to eat the food quality at the food and wine festival has gone so it's so bad.
[01:23:14] Really?
[01:23:14] Wow.
[01:23:14] First of all, they haven't changed the menus that's that significantly, but item to item year to year.
[01:23:23] The quality is so gross.
[01:23:25] I mean, it's just really the food's not good.
[01:23:29] The quality of the attractions isn't good.
[01:23:31] I don't I just don't think it's good.
[01:23:33] I go there and I'm like, I would rather not go because I come home disappointed and I'm sick of feeling that way.
[01:23:39] And I've just, you know, this isn't I didn't just leave ears up.
[01:23:47] I like I'm done with it all.
[01:23:49] Yeah.
[01:23:50] Yeah.
[01:23:50] Yeah.
[01:23:51] It's I have no interest.
[01:23:52] I don't want to read about Disney news.
[01:23:54] I don't read about Disney news.
[01:23:55] I'm just I've just given up on it all.
[01:23:58] And like I did sort of watch like the last night of D23 to see what they might announce.
[01:24:05] And I was like, no, it sucks.
[01:24:09] It still sucks.
[01:24:10] It's going to suck going forward.
[01:24:11] Like they're not getting it.
[01:24:13] It's not happening.
[01:24:14] I think that's good to take a step back a little bit.
[01:24:17] And, you know, I love it.
[01:24:18] I couldn't be happy.
[01:24:19] I like I wish that it was good.
[01:24:21] I wish I read there are things, you know, it's nice.
[01:24:23] There are still elements that I love.
[01:24:25] And it's more like let's like if I have friends down there.
[01:24:28] So it's like, oh, let's go get dinner at the boardwalk.
[01:24:31] Great.
[01:24:31] We can go.
[01:24:32] We can have dinner at one of the resort hotels.
[01:24:33] That's fine.
[01:24:34] It's perfectly reasonable.
[01:24:35] Like it is.
[01:24:36] It's great.
[01:24:37] All right.
[01:24:37] We'll go into Epcot for 10 minutes.
[01:24:39] But I don't want I don't desire to go there.
[01:24:43] Yeah.
[01:24:44] And I found like even I went not like I used to.
[01:24:49] I you know, I go to Europe a lot for work.
[01:24:51] I used to always go to Disneyland Paris.
[01:24:54] I went to Paris in March.
[01:24:56] I didn't go to Disneyland Paris.
[01:24:58] And that's great because guess what?
[01:25:02] Paris is a pretty good city to visit.
[01:25:05] They have a lot of things that are worth seeing.
[01:25:08] Yeah.
[01:25:08] Aren't a fake castle and fireworks and construction.
[01:25:12] So I just, you know, I just think like you're talking about pricing and, you know, honestly, I actually don't think that that the price of a ticket is that expensive.
[01:25:24] I if you compare it to a ski pass.
[01:25:27] Yeah.
[01:25:28] If you compare it to a Broadway show, you go to a Broadway show, it's one hundred and fifty dollars and it's three hours of entertainment.
[01:25:35] I think you're right.
[01:25:36] I do think that the the the anger issue comes because of the rapid price increases over the last decade.
[01:25:46] If they did, it's rapid price increases in conjunction with rapid quality decreases.
[01:25:53] That is it.
[01:25:53] We know as customers that Disney can and can can pay can wow us for less money.
[01:26:02] They're just not.
[01:26:03] Yeah.
[01:26:04] And I think it's it's the if the if the tickets went up but nothing else did, that's one thing.
[01:26:10] But it's ticket tickets go up, food goes up, merchandise goes up, parking goes up.
[01:26:17] It all follows this trend.
[01:26:19] And then, like you said, it's I don't know, you can call it shrink flation or saving money or whatever.
[01:26:24] But the quality does drop the things that you get for free drop.
[01:26:28] So you get you get less for more.
[01:26:31] And that's that's bad.
[01:26:33] So I think you have a good point.
[01:26:34] You know, the price of the ticket on its face value isn't that bad, but it's it's all the other context that that makes it kind of suck.
[01:26:44] Right.
[01:26:44] I mean, even last month, I went to Epcot for a day with friends and I hadn't been there in a while.
[01:26:50] And we were it was it was one of the first like the Food and Wine Festival had started.
[01:26:54] So we were like, OK, we'll check it out.
[01:26:58] And I saw we saw like a cutting board for sale.
[01:27:00] And I was like, oh, these cutting boards.
[01:27:02] I was like, I have one.
[01:27:03] And I'm like, well, that's right.
[01:27:04] It used to be free.
[01:27:06] Annual pass holders used to get a free cutting board.
[01:27:09] Really?
[01:27:10] At the Food and Wine Festival.
[01:27:11] How much?
[01:27:12] How much were they being sold for?
[01:27:13] Well, now they're like thirty dollars.
[01:27:15] Oh, my goodness.
[01:27:16] Or whatever it was.
[01:27:17] But I was just like, I go, oh, my God.
[01:27:18] Remember these?
[01:27:19] Remember when I was like, I have it.
[01:27:20] Yeah, I've got my I still have my coasters, my coaster set that I got one year.
[01:27:25] And right.
[01:27:26] And I said, I was like, what's the free?
[01:27:28] What's the thing this year?
[01:27:29] And they were like, there's no there's not.
[01:27:31] I don't know.
[01:27:31] There's probably like a magnet or something if you come on a certain day.
[01:27:34] But yeah, they don't care, dude.
[01:27:37] No one cares.
[01:27:37] Get the hell out of here.
[01:27:38] Well, if you have kids, you might be able to save prices or save money with prices as low as fifty dollars per child per day to the Disneyland Resort with purchase of special tickets.
[01:27:49] This covers valid dates, details, how much money you'll save, blah, blah, blah, blah.
[01:27:53] The deal at Disneyland Resort is available for a limited time in winter and spring 2025 with visits for visit dates from January 7th through March 20th.
[01:28:03] Subject to theme park reservation availability.
[01:28:07] They will be available for purchase starting October 22nd.
[01:28:12] The kids ticket deal at Disneyland will offer a variety of options and flexibility.
[01:28:16] You'll be able to choose from one day, two day or three day Disneyland tickets with, of course, you can upgrade to Park Hopper and add on Lightning Lane Multipass and, you know, all that kind of stuff.
[01:28:27] As noted, Disneyland just announced this deal and it's not going live until October 22nd.
[01:28:34] So there you go.
[01:28:35] That's pretty good, man.
[01:28:36] Fifty bucks for kids.
[01:28:38] Yeah.
[01:28:38] Specific times.
[01:28:39] And I wonder why.
[01:28:40] I wonder if there is that sort of attendance drop and they want to, like, you know, reduce the price for kids so families can, you know, come back.
[01:28:50] Yeah.
[01:28:51] Or they just wanted to make news.
[01:28:53] Like, I don't know if they need to make news, you know, they're Disneyland.
[01:28:56] Well, but like for a price drop.
[01:28:59] Yeah, maybe.
[01:28:59] Instead of a price increase.
[01:29:01] Right.
[01:29:01] Yeah.
[01:29:02] I suppose, man.
[01:29:04] All right.
[01:29:04] Let's get out of here.
[01:29:05] All right.
[01:29:06] Jeremy, what's going on on SpectralRadio.us?
[01:29:09] Well, the Halloween music is streaming and soon you'll be screaming.
[01:29:16] Yeah, that's it.
[01:29:17] Halloween music, you know, and then some new music on there from the Haunted Mansion movie.
[01:29:22] We got that.
[01:29:24] And then in December or November, of course, Christmas starts streaming away.
[01:29:28] So, you know, keep up with us for all of your seasonal favorites.
[01:29:31] There you go.
[01:29:32] Very good.
[01:29:33] And don't forget to check out our newest show, Buena Vista Boys.
[01:29:37] Anyways, I'm watching the, I always do this.
[01:29:40] I'm just going to turn it off.
[01:29:41] I'm watching this movie.
[01:29:42] I don't know if you've seen it, Jeremy.
[01:29:43] It's called The Greatest.
[01:29:46] I forget what it's called.
[01:29:47] Like, The Greatest Original One and Only Family Band or something like that.
[01:29:52] Oh, I've heard.
[01:29:53] I know what you're talking about.
[01:29:54] I haven't watched it.
[01:29:55] No.
[01:29:55] It is a turd.
[01:29:57] But it's a musical.
[01:29:59] And I think some of the music of it.
[01:30:01] Maybe.
[01:30:02] So every time I see any music, like we did Moon Pilot for one of the episodes and the
[01:30:08] Sherman Brothers wrote the music for that.
[01:30:09] And it was like awful.
[01:30:11] Yeah.
[01:30:12] It was awful.
[01:30:13] And this music in here is awful as well.
[01:30:15] It's a very political show.
[01:30:17] It's a political movie.
[01:30:19] And it's like literally Democrats moving to a Republican town in the 1800s.
[01:30:23] And it's like really uncomfortable.
[01:30:26] But yeah, the music is just bad.
[01:30:29] It's just bad.
[01:30:30] I don't know.
[01:30:31] That's all I'd say about it.
[01:30:32] I've never watched it.
[01:30:33] But man, I'm going to stay away based on your idea.
[01:30:36] No, you need to watch it.
[01:30:38] You need to watch it.
[01:30:39] I think it might be fun to do it.
[01:30:41] And, you know, back to like our negative, you know, connotations that we get sometimes.
[01:30:46] But it might be fun to just do like a bad music of the Sherman Brothers show.
[01:30:50] Oh, man.
[01:30:52] Like here's all the terrible songs they wrote.
[01:30:55] Oh, my God.
[01:30:55] We played one tonight.
[01:30:57] It's true.
[01:30:58] Anyway.
[01:30:59] Yeah.
[01:30:59] Check that out.
