It's always a good idea to stop by and visit your friends, especially if your friend happens to be a swanky-styled lounge in the heart of California Adventure. Today, Erik guides us through his most recent stop at Carthay Lounge to see if it was as great as he remembered. Taren has a "Who Dat?" segment for us, and we run through a giant batch of Disney News.

[00:00:02] It's time for the show that brings the magic right to your speakers.
[00:00:10] EarzUp!
[00:00:33] Uh, Erix Eeding again. We have a Hoodat segment with Terran and uh, you know, we're gonna be, it's gonna be a good time. We're gonna chill show. We're gonna hang out. We're gonna talk. We're gonna be S. And it's gonna be a good time. So welcome. I'm glad you're here. Today is a very very special day. Well, yeah. It's Ryan and Lisa's uh, uh, anniversary right? Good job guys. Yay! Yeah. Pray. It's also someone else's anniversary. Erik, you and Brandy have an anniversary today? I think it might be yours. I don't know.
[00:01:02] You don't have an anniversary? That's a June. Well, we don't celebrate it. But, why isn't June? Did you take over my anniversary? I took over your life, brother. Yeah, it's our anniversary. Terran, good job. Congratulations. Yeah, we got married nine years ago by the way. So we do gifts for each other that are like the traditional gifts every year. So it's like, you know, pottery or like wicker or like just wheat, weird stuff. Yeah. Yeah. I got Uno one year because it was paper. I remember that. I don't.
[00:01:32] So yeah. Is that for me? Yeah. Okay. So next year, I forget what the for the 10th year. I was like, oh, it must be something big. And I looked it up and it was like divorce papers. It was not something big. It was like, I forget what it was. But it was like cotton or something. And I was like, um, and so whenever I look this up, it, I look at the traditional and then I look at the modern and the modern is diamond jewelry. And I'm like, we're gonna go modern next year. Oh, stop it. First of all, you're just buying it for yourself because you make money.
[00:02:02] I don't care. I look, 16 was wax. So I think that diamond should come after wax. It comes back around. It does come back around. Okay. Yeah, 10th anniversary is 10 or aluminum 10 what we're going to buy each other.
[00:02:18] Can't can no can. Oh, can't go. Because I got I got drinking glasses that had the chemical symbols for 10 and aluminum back here. Somebody.
[00:02:28] Yeah, modern diamond jewelry in the metal or gemstone is diamond. So there you go. There's there's that. Yeah. So looking forward to next year.
[00:02:38] Well, and then it just then it's 10th and then there's nothing until the 15th and just every every five years.
[00:02:43] You're looking at the wrong list.
[00:02:45] I'm going to look, I'm on brides dot com.
[00:02:47] Okay. Well, that's the wrong place to look. There's there. There is one every year right.
[00:02:51] The brides dot go. This is the federal list. Oh, yeah, it's it's mandatory. Let me tell you.
[00:02:58] Mandatory doesn't matter what political party enters off as next. It's going to be mandatory mandatory gifts bigger small. I don't care. Doesn't matter.
[00:03:06] It's the only bipartisan list of gifts.
[00:03:12] Anyway, everybody, um,
[00:03:18] the parks apparently, Terrence and Bev together are in Walt Disney World right now. Yeah. Yeah. And I challenge them to call in and explain why why nobody knew this sooner.
[00:03:29] But apparently they're they're vacationing together. And it's Terrence's first trip Disney World and that's fantastic.
[00:03:34] Oh, ever? Well, that's apparently. Yeah. So that's great. Well, and I don't know if you all remember. Hold on. So I'm in a middle of a speel. Oh. Yeah, I'm in the middle of a bit.
[00:03:43] Continue. He's getting us paid. So hopefully, you know, they use the best service in the world for traveling is
[00:03:49] Conceeers. You're going to conceirs dot com playing your trip through them. And which basically is a dumb way of saying
[00:03:56] Have them playing your trip for you. And you know what I mean by that is obviously you give them the dates and you say what you want to do. So you give them parameters.
[00:04:03] You say this is this is what I'm thinking about this one. We're looking forward to. And then they'll figure everything else out. We'll figure the timing where you're going to stay and they'll clear it with you too.
[00:04:11] It's also, it's not just like a mystery box. We were like, well, we booked you a hotel, but we're not going to tell you where you will get to prove everything.
[00:04:19] And that's great. You mean if you want to sign up for like, Conceeers level or whatever, you can do that too. But do all that stuff through
[00:04:24] Conceeers, they will book it and they will also monitor prices for you. But she with the hotels where if a price lowers for whatever reason if the hotel has
[00:04:32] discount, because I know some people don't want to book too far to advance because they're concerned about a, you know, a price change or what if prices drop due to demand or whatever.
[00:04:41] Conceeers will monitor that for you and they will book the new room or the room at the new rate and then they'll refund you the difference.
[00:04:48] But just cool. Not everybody would do that. So it's a lot going on. Find the scenes of Conceeers. So they will book everything for you. I'll take care of everything for you.
[00:04:57] If nothing to worry about with them, check them out. They are official travel partner. We love them. And I know,
[00:05:04] Terran and I personally are excited to use them one day. We we tried in January, but we couldn't swing it.
[00:05:10] Going to the park. So hopefully we'll need to get back to the parks. We'll will experience the Conceeers difference looking for it.
[00:05:17] Yeah, yeah. Absolutely. I swear this time I'll try to stay in a different room. I know that's what's got to do with it.
[00:05:23] Well, yeah. It's just it's there's just not enough room in the in the single bed for three. Yeah, I mean that I mean you could have put me in the pack and play.
[00:05:31] I understand. Well, you know, look, that's where I sleep. I don't know. That's what I'm saying. There's not a room.
[00:05:38] Okay. Next time next time. And then also if you're looking for a brand new show to our listen to you go check out Buena Vista boys.
[00:05:45] It's burning up the charts. You guys everyone's a loving it. We're in double digit and I love my love life.
[00:05:52] I'm just kidding. It's a great show to fun show. I think we just released episode four, three, four, three, three.
[00:06:00] Well, the fourth is the trailer. But yeah, that's why I get confused. But three hot led cold feet. Just a great Disney movie.
[00:06:06] We are going to be recording the fourth episode which will be the computer of war tennis shoes. And I think we're going to do that on Twitch on Saturday.
[00:06:14] So if you're listening live and you want to join us for that. Oh, you're going to do it live. Yeah, I think so. Why not? I mean, it's it's a show that I don't put video on but it is on YouTube podcasts or whatever, which is, you know, it's like a static image of the of the episode artwork in that.
[00:06:28] But yeah, I think we'll do it live on Twitch because why not. Oh, I don't know. It's right. Yeah, just we're just we'll be here hanging out anyway.
[00:06:35] As my results turn on the cameras and let everyone see it. See how we do it. See how we do things. But it's a good time, man. The movies weird computer war tennis shoes is a weird movie. And I don't know if anybody has seen it recently at all.
[00:06:50] But whoa, man, it is a wapar. It's weird. It is. Caesar Romero isn't it played the Joker in the Batman TV series. And I think there's a few nods to that as well in this show in the movie. This is very odd, man.
[00:07:05] Can't resist. No, well, I think it's like he has a secret door right to an underground layer and like, okay or um there's one point. I guess I don't want to ruin anything but whatever. There's one point they're like painting the house.
[00:07:21] And it's green and orange, but it's that bright green and bright orange like was all over his costumes and stuff like that in the TV show.
[00:07:30] But at one point Kurt Russell is going to Gotham and it's just these kinds of things. You know that they're just packing it in there because of this man. That's great. It's cool. And that kind of stuff is fun. But yeah, so we're going to be recording that too. So if you're not going to catch it live, we'll probably release that in a couple weeks.
[00:07:49] Nice. Yeah, there'd be cool, man. It's a good it's a good show. I'm having a good time with it. It's run Matt and you know it's a black. So definitely pick it up wherever you can find amazing podcasts.
[00:08:01] Please only amazing podcast. Only amazing ones. There's a service for that. Yeah, I like that. Oh man. All right, Eric is this it.
[00:08:15] Sounds like I'm eating something to get. Oh yeah. It is. Yeah.
[00:08:20] Eric, what are you eating again, brother? You know it's been a while. There is a restaurant well known to this podcast.
[00:08:31] It's a place within a place within a place. Imagine if you will a theme park with a rendition of old
[00:08:36] timey Hollywood within that rendition is the fact, similarly of a theater within that theater is some pretty good food and
[00:08:44] drinks. Yes, the Carthet Circle restaurant and lounge are magical places. Thanks to this podcast, it was at the top of my list when I first visited Disney land.
[00:08:54] The Carthet Man hadn't became my own signature drink for quite some time. And my wife and I and our friends have enjoyed both the lounge and the restaurant itself on multiple occasions.
[00:09:04] But it's been a long time since I last visited. I don't think I've been there since that pandemic started, you know.
[00:09:12] Thank you for not saying, you know, after COVID, please. Oh yeah, but it's but it's over.
[00:09:19] You know, according to the government, it's over. Yeah, but get your vaccines on my last I know plenty of people that have had a pretty
[00:09:29] company. Same. Yeah, on my last trip in June, I decided it was high time I make another trip to this place.
[00:09:39] The process is different now where where you used to stand in a long line out front to get into the lounge.
[00:09:45] Yeah, I don't do that anymore. The main dining room is also open again for a long time. You could only eat Elfresco, which meant on the porch outside.
[00:09:54] So you could make reservations like usual for dinner. But really, if you want to get that lounge flare,
[00:10:00] you've got to go in and do a virtual reservation. So the restaurant is open during
[00:10:05] much time at dinner. The lounge is open the same times. You're not waiting in that long line.
[00:10:10] You can join a virtual queue if you are standing nearby in the park. So if you're in Disneyland,
[00:10:15] you can't join the virtual queue. You need to go into DCA. You need to get relatively close.
[00:10:19] I don't know where that line is and then join that virtual queue. And then you can kind of wander the park and it'll tell you how long you have to wait.
[00:10:26] Virtual queue is a good idea for that. Yeah, that's not bad. Really. Yeah, I mean, if I remember correctly,
[00:10:31] Terry, maybe you can correct me, but I don't feel like the line to get in was ever too long.
[00:10:36] No, there was one time where it was on the Harrietg of you leaving. Yeah, but that could have been five minutes.
[00:10:42] I know. Yeah, I'm very impatient. It was never that. It wasn't too long. Yes, but she went at open.
[00:10:47] And then I think as they dialed everything in and they wanted more room for people who had dinner reservations to come in first to drink.
[00:10:54] And then they kind of like cleaved that and changed it around a little bit. Then it became like, oh my God, do whatever. But yeah, virtual queue.
[00:11:00] I like it. I like those the use of the technology. Yeah, you're not standing in front of a white painted building in the California sun.
[00:11:09] Yeah, and just wishing that you're going into 1901. Right. Right. Oh my god. 1901 club. I haven't done that one yet.
[00:11:15] It's cool. You know, we went. We got this. So for those of you who don't know 1901 is like, it's one of the parks. You get if you're a certain tier of club 33 member and
[00:11:26] it's done very well. It's like Carthé, but on steroids a little bit, there's some really cool photos of Walt and whatever.
[00:11:33] And that we went. We were very, very blessed and lucky enough to get to go. And there's nobody in there. The bartender was like, what like a welcome. He's like, oh my God. Thank you.
[00:11:42] Please, but it felt like it because he just knows when there's nobody in there. You can't you don't talk to anybody. There's nobody. There's nobody in there.
[00:11:49] And they let you walk around and I remember very specifically this leather chair that was to this day, the single most comfortable
[00:11:57] chair I have ever sat in. Wow. Oh, there you go. Such a nice chair. Anyway, our good, please. I'll have to add that to the list next time I find somebody who's willing to sponsor me to get in there.
[00:12:10] Lord knows I'm not in that text bracket. Yeah, same dude. Well, this time around I think I waited about 15 minutes and I got to
[00:12:18] get into the lounge and I sat at the bar and I've said it the bar itself in a while. Yeah, that's a cool. It's fine.
[00:12:25] I can get with the bars a little bar sitting for sure. Yeah, so it was down at the end. It used to be that we're like if you wanted to try to sit at the bar in the bar area
[00:12:34] you didn't have to wait in line or something like that. But you needed to wait in line if you wanted to sit in the chair.
[00:12:40] I'm remembering that. Are you just kind of lingered and waited for something to move? I think the actual bar if something opened up you could go there.
[00:12:48] But I don't know. I feel like that's a, that's a misremember maybe. Okay, I might have come and gone at different times because yet they've been some pre-lacks times.
[00:12:58] Like yeah, just go and find a spot. Yeah, they were trying to figure things out for a while. Maybe my liar is what Terrence saying.
[00:13:04] Anyway, what I want to sitting at the bar at the last time I sat there was technically was at the bar. But it was at one of the
[00:13:11] high tops next to the bar. But it was one of my favorite memories there was with my wife and I late night before a half marathon like we were closing out DCA and I
[00:13:28] have to say, I have to say, I don't know if I'm pressed. I don't know if I'm pressed is right. But you guys doing.
[00:13:34] All right. Well, you know what it turned out okay because I woke up and completed that race very, very well in my wife stayed in bed.
[00:13:45] Oh, she did make it. She did not get out of bed. It had nothing to do with the drinks. It had more to do with her not wanting to get up at 3 a.m.
[00:13:55] to go stand in line for two hours to go run. No, that had nothing to do with the drinks. Yeah, for sure. Oh, it really didn't because that became a habit after the fact. Oh, yeah. But yes, Brandi was never happier with that with a decision like that. She never looked back.
[00:14:12] Anyway, this time I wanted a fancy lunch and this was toward the end of several days in the park. So there were the concierge crew. We had done a training there for a few days. I had done some chores.
[00:14:22] We'll talk about the VIP tour at some point some day because that was on that same trip. But yeah, I really just wanted to sit around and not do much on this day in the park. So I just wanted to be any dimly lit.
[00:14:35] I saw a little light. Yeah, I get that. And I got in. He was fine. Said at the bar. Chatter with the bartender for a little bit. His name was Jeremy.
[00:14:45] So sure sticks with my ass for his recommendations because I had been there for a while. I hadn't been drinking a whole lot at that point, but I couldn't pass up the chance to have a legendary party.
[00:14:56] Okay, Percy Manhattan again. Does it had also been a while? And yeah, that is available still the bar menu has changed significantly. They no longer have that chunk that's the same drinks that they have at every place that has drinks.
[00:15:14] Now it's pretty much all signature drinks. They separated out into different areas on the menu. So it designed wise the menu looks different and interesting cocktails are now basics, the golden age curtain call and ensemble cat.
[00:15:31] Oh my god enough with the.
[00:15:34] Those are like, what is the sections right? Right. Yeah, but I think it's funny. It's like it's like theater theater, but the car theater wasn't in the movie theater.
[00:15:45] It was. Yeah, it's kind of seems like it's weird. You know, yeah, it's not an ensemble cat. I guess it still isn't ensemble cast.
[00:15:53] But you're just watching. It's more like stage theater. That's what it brings about, but anyway, go ahead, sorry.
[00:15:59] But yeah, the the car say Manhattan is not in the basics. It's much more sophisticated.
[00:16:06] It is within the golden age menu quadrant Jason how much is a car say Manhattan.
[00:16:15] Now you're about 24. Yeah, don't ask me. No, 2024.
[00:16:21] It can't be south of 18 bucks. It's got to be over $18. You're correct in that assessment.
[00:16:30] How much is it? 19 50 22.
[00:16:33] In June, it was $20 and 50 cents.
[00:16:38] But last Thursday during the Ogui Boogie Bash and I assume still today during an Ogui Boogie Bash.
[00:16:44] It's a cool $22. Wow.
[00:16:48] Bullet Rye, Carpano Antica, sweet for move, angustura bitters, three looks at her cherries and nice sphere from they make this clear locally sourced pure five water.
[00:16:59] It's local water. Don't worry about that. Yeah, locally not foreign. No, no, no, pure five so it's tap water.
[00:17:05] What are you looking up? I did get an Arnold Palmer after that, which is called a twin bill.
[00:17:10] Oh, that was that was six dollars. Well, there you go. So it's 20 bucks 22.
[00:17:16] But you know, but 20 normal. He's what he's saying right?
[00:17:18] You can buy you can buy a 750 bottle of bullet rye for $20 at total. Why so for the cost of the drinks.
[00:17:26] You can buy an entire bottle of that. I mean, the remuces a little price here than that bullet probably at this point. Carpano Antica.
[00:17:35] Carpano Antica. Let's see. He's checking that is 1999.
[00:17:39] Oh, okay. For a standard bottom. I know what a standard size of that is. What is that grind this show to halt $375.
[00:17:47] So that's tiny bottle. Yeah. So you know, what is it? So it is price.
[00:17:51] Yeah. So 35 bucks for like a regular size bottle. Okay. So you can go, you can do that. You can buy two drinks and basically you could have just bought in two bottles of the of the ingredients to make it show.
[00:18:05] There you go. Which is I mean, you can say that if anything, but like that is too much money wasn't it $14 when we started going.
[00:18:11] I think it was 15 when you started complaining about it. Well, like that's probably true.
[00:18:16] But I just, here's the thing bullet is not that high grade of a whiskey. It's really not it's like it's not bottom of the shelf, but it's not top shelf either. It's like a decent mid range.
[00:18:27] So more course. Yeah. It's fine. It's nothing. It shouldn't be a drink with bullet should not be 20 bucks.
[00:18:34] It should. There's nothing. There's nothing.
[00:18:38] I'm willing to bet. Ogui Boogie bash is what picked it up into 22, but in June there was no excuse. It was it was over $20 moving on the lunch menu had a lot to offer.
[00:18:48] I wasn't sure what to get. There's a lot of different options there. We had a two-eats spring rolls chicken meat balls bow buns.
[00:18:55] I asked my pal Jeremy the bartender what he recommended for a lighter mid day snack. He recommended the filet mignon skewers with stewed beans.
[00:19:04] And when I finished the whole thing, I'm like, oh, that was a little thicker than I thought it would be. He said, oh, yeah, most people don't eat the beans. They just leave the beans.
[00:19:12] Okay. Oh, okay.
[00:19:15] We're just coming in and have a pile of meat in my leave. Okay.
[00:19:19] Yeah. The flavor is excellent. The beans were a little crunchy. It was fine.
[00:19:22] The retitude I should mention has a, I don't know how to pronounce this. The deliche de bourgeau and cloud. I don't want to look up what that means.
[00:19:31] Okay. That's fair.
[00:19:33] That's fair.
[00:19:34] And fancy.
[00:19:35] Yeah. It's French and fancy and it's a cloud on top of your retitude.
[00:19:39] Okay.
[00:19:40] Or really, I was pretty much fine after that point, but I couldn't resist looking at the dessert menu and not huge undiserts.
[00:19:50] But since I cut back on drinking my body really wants some empty calories at the end of me.
[00:19:55] Yeah. I feel like I took a look. There's a nice cream Sunday, which is fine. A cheeseboard, which is probably way too much food.
[00:20:03] And so I went for the Mickey hazelnut crutch.
[00:20:06] Crunch, which was probably the best dessert I have ever eaten in the parks.
[00:20:10] Oh, my, how much crunch? What is that?
[00:20:12] It was a little ball of vanilla ice cream coated in a hazelnut glaze with bits of hazelnut in it.
[00:20:19] And two dark chocolate ears on top to make it look like Mickey.
[00:20:23] And then there's a giant spike run through the middle to make it look like a cake and upside down cake pop.
[00:20:30] It really, it does help you stabilize the tree while you cut it.
[00:20:33] Okay. The knife through Mickey's head seems a little strange.
[00:20:37] But it's a, it's a wooden spike, like a, a stick.
[00:20:41] Yeah. That's still safe.
[00:20:42] So you could just pick it up and eat it off the stick, like a cake pop or a popsicle.
[00:20:46] But it would be difficult because it's a big ball of ice cream covered in stuff.
[00:20:52] My, that's cute. Cool.
[00:20:53] And it was the best thing you've ever eaten. I used to fork a knife.
[00:20:56] It was fantastic. It was sweet but not like just sugar.
[00:21:02] It was perfect size of dessert for one person.
[00:21:05] It was 10 bucks, but it, it's Carfay.
[00:21:07] I paid $22 for that point.
[00:21:10] I had that in a couple of coffee. My entire afternoon was great.
[00:21:13] I was like floating through the park.
[00:21:15] And that was really good. That was a really good lunch.
[00:21:18] That's awesome.
[00:21:19] How much did it cost you?
[00:21:22] Oh, I was your total.
[00:21:22] I had all of that up, but I guess,
[00:21:26] rough estimate.
[00:21:27] I kind of got, probably 80 after before or after tip.
[00:21:32] I don't know.
[00:21:34] Yeah. It's a lot for, it's a lot for a lunch for one person.
[00:21:38] But I did have, I did have a drink.
[00:21:42] And one alcoholic drink, another drink, another non alcoholic drink, food and dessert.
[00:21:49] I'm not going to say it's not a lot because it is.
[00:21:51] That's a lot of money.
[00:21:54] But any person who door dashes anything?
[00:21:59] Oh gosh.
[00:22:00] Yeah.
[00:22:01] I mean, it just eating things that you don't make yourself are really expensive.
[00:22:08] Even the things that you make yourself are expensive.
[00:22:10] But eating things that somebody else is making you insanely expensive.
[00:22:15] So yeah, $20 for a Manhattan too much.
[00:22:19] But end of the day, it's only $6 more than what you were paying before.
[00:22:24] So I don't know.
[00:22:25] There you go.
[00:22:26] That's the right principle over pound man.
[00:22:28] I just, I don't know, for me it's the principle of thing.
[00:22:31] Well, at the end of that meal,
[00:22:33] it was, it was a delight to emerge from the dim confines of a carthacer collowed back into the harsh California sun.
[00:22:44] I know I had a great day after that.
[00:22:46] But yeah, you know, it was, it was great to be back in the confines of Carthacerco.
[00:22:53] And surrounded by all those old pictures of Walt and everybody else.
[00:22:56] And it was, it was another place in time taking you back to the 30s and also taking you back to the, you know, all the other times you've been to Carthay.
[00:23:06] It's, it was nice to go back in there.
[00:23:08] And it, it definitely holds up.
[00:23:10] It's expensive, but it's always been expensive.
[00:23:13] So that's true.
[00:23:14] Yes.
[00:23:14] It has always been going for.
[00:23:16] Yeah, absolutely.
[00:23:17] And I think you have a really good point even though like it's kind of like recent nostalgia.
[00:23:21] There is, there's an nostalgic aspect to Carthay.
[00:23:25] For me, especially, I mean, all, so many memories have been made at Carthay lounge, even though it's not terribly old.
[00:23:33] But like just throughout this show and meeting meeting listeners and having glass of champagne after we got engaged.
[00:23:41] Like a lot of fun times have happened there.
[00:23:43] So I do think there's an aspect of like nostalgia that will bring me back even if the prices make Jason mad.
[00:23:51] Yeah.
[00:23:51] Well, look, they definitely do that.
[00:23:53] That's for sure, man.
[00:23:54] But what doesn't there's not a whole lot in this world that doesn't make me mad?
[00:23:59] So, my name is well, just pile on the thing that we talk about.
[00:24:03] There you go.
[00:24:04] And to the savvy listener, the entire reason I wanted to do this segment after eating there is because I know it makes you something.
[00:24:12] Oh yeah.
[00:24:13] Well, look, man, it did its thing.
[00:24:16] All right. Well, very good, Eric.
[00:24:17] And why do I go time, man?
[00:24:18] Would you do it again?
[00:24:20] Going solo to Carthay having a nice little, absolutely.
[00:24:22] No, a lunge.
[00:24:24] On the right day, you know, if I've been this was a long trip, it was definitely time free longer sit down meal.
[00:24:31] Nice.
[00:24:31] Instead of running around and okay, let's cram another corn dog and keep going.
[00:24:36] This was, this was a, I will spend money to sit in the place.
[00:24:40] I probably drank like five glasses of water while I was there.
[00:24:43] Because you just kind of want to sit there.
[00:24:45] Like I did one solo trip to Disneyland and it was only for like a couple hours because Jason was at a conference.
[00:24:50] Please, John.
[00:24:52] That's right.
[00:24:52] I'm like an extreme gamer you guys.
[00:24:54] And so I had a few hours by myself at the park and I didn't know what to do.
[00:24:59] Like I'm not very good at making decisions even when I'm by myself.
[00:25:04] But the one thing I could decide on was going to Carthay and I did the same as you.
[00:25:08] I sat at the bar and I remember getting a bloody mayor.
[00:25:11] Like it was like a fun time.
[00:25:12] Like if you're solo at Disneyland, like that's, that's the place to go.
[00:25:18] Can I say?
[00:25:19] All right, very good.
[00:25:21] All right, Terran, I don't have your theme music.
[00:25:23] What?
[00:25:24] Okay.
[00:25:25] I don't have it.
[00:25:25] So I apologize but you know, maybe I can, maybe I can cobble something together or hold on a second.
[00:25:31] Did it get lost?
[00:25:32] Here, how about this?
[00:25:34] Who should have the part of the hedges officer?
[00:25:35] Should have your mind out.
[00:25:36] Let me know.
[00:25:38] All right, so he's all right.
[00:25:39] Yeah!
[00:25:40] Yeah!
[00:25:41] All right, Terran.
[00:25:43] Who that?
[00:25:44] I don't know.
[00:25:45] No, okay.
[00:25:45] Yeah, what?
[00:25:47] That's all right.
[00:25:47] But today I'm going to talk a little bit about which is funny.
[00:25:51] I'm going to talk about Skuddle.
[00:25:53] And the reason that's funny is because earlier Eric said the words Skuddle and I was like
[00:25:59] Who ever uses that word and to use it.
[00:26:02] Pirates.
[00:26:03] Same day.
[00:26:04] I am talking about Skuddle.
[00:26:06] I thought was very interesting.
[00:26:07] Oh, man, it must be angel numbers.
[00:26:09] I don't know what that means but have you guys, I don't know if anyone here
[00:26:14] has a clue.
[00:26:15] I think it's true that the Cruz is reddit, but that's what I do at night before bed.
[00:26:18] Have you ever seen the subreddit?
[00:26:20] Like, what is this thing?
[00:26:22] No.
[00:26:23] Okay.
[00:26:24] It's just a subreddit that basically somebody will post a picture of something usually
[00:26:29] it's something gross in their house and there are like does anybody know what this with
[00:26:33] this bug is and then or does anybody know what this stain is?
[00:26:36] And it's always bug poop.
[00:26:39] It's always bug poop.
[00:26:43] Yeah.
[00:26:44] Is this like does anybody know what year this is from?
[00:26:48] Just stuff like that.
[00:26:49] It's for people to help each other out.
[00:26:51] Well, Skuddle is kind of like the modern diversion of that.
[00:26:56] So in the little mermaid, any time Ariel finds an object under the sea and has no idea what it is
[00:27:02] but she kind of knows it's a unique object, something from humans.
[00:27:05] She swims up to the surface to ask her seagull friend Skuddle.
[00:27:09] Now, Skuddle is very confident and very loud and he will happily inspect an object
[00:27:16] and let Ariel know what it is and what it's used for.
[00:27:18] Now, whether he's correct is another story but then again who's going to question him
[00:27:23] especially when he's a self-proclaimed expert on human things.
[00:27:28] Now, Skuddle lives off the coast of where Prince Eric lives and he was born as Skuddle
[00:27:33] but, but as the Skuddle puts it, it was changed for obvious reasons.
[00:27:39] He did not want the butt in his name, so he's Skuddle.
[00:27:42] His numerous encounters with humans throughout his life,
[00:27:45] most of which have been accidental and accident prone,
[00:27:49] led him to believe that he himself was an expert on human culture.
[00:27:54] And when Ariel first met Skuddle, she actually wasn't a big fan.
[00:27:57] His kind of manic personality isn't really for everyone but after Skuddle proved himself
[00:28:03] by saving Sebastian from a band of pirates,
[00:28:06] he's a pan-arriol, developed a strong friendship which is quite nice.
[00:28:10] Skuddle is the only one of Ariel's friends capable of flight and as such
[00:28:15] is a very useful character in times of crisis.
[00:28:19] You all right, bud?
[00:28:21] I got a real scratchy throat. It's not COVID.
[00:28:22] I've taken four tests.
[00:28:24] I just have really bad allergies right now, so I apologize.
[00:28:28] Okay, Skuddle is the only one of Ariel's friends capable of flight
[00:28:31] and as such is very useful in times of crisis.
[00:28:34] Now, Skuddle implies that he has the ability to communicate with humans
[00:28:39] and is thus the expert of them though we as humans find out quickly that he actually
[00:28:44] knows very little.
[00:28:46] In spite of this, Skuddle does have some knowledge of humans
[00:28:49] that most of the sea creatures don't and this makes him their only source of human
[00:28:54] information so in that respect I guess he is the expert.
[00:28:58] What's interesting to me about Skuddle is that he actually does not appear
[00:29:02] in the original Hans Christian Anderson version of the story of the little mermaid.
[00:29:06] And this is odd, since even though he is only a supporting character
[00:29:10] with fantastic comedic timing in this Disney version
[00:29:14] he is in my humble opinion the actual true hero of the little mermaid.
[00:29:20] Oh, okay, here we go.
[00:29:22] Now King Triton may be tough and magical and Sebastian may be Ariel's protector
[00:29:27] but if it weren't for Skuddle Ariel's only flying friend Ariel would never have found
[00:29:33] out that Vanessa who Prince Eric was about to marry was actually Ursula
[00:29:37] wearing the necklace with Ariel's voice.
[00:29:40] He also Skuddle, being the he, also steals that necklace from Vanessa
[00:29:45] slash Ursula exposing her to the rest of the cast.
[00:29:48] So without Skuddle Ursula would have totally won.
[00:29:52] Now also just as a side note what's interesting about Skuddle
[00:29:55] is that in the live action version Skuddle is actually portrayed as a female
[00:30:00] and is a genet.
[00:30:02] Well, cave mind walk virus, the walk mind high virus, walk mind virus
[00:30:07] making up new birds.
[00:30:09] We I feel hold on a second pause.
[00:30:11] Pause, pausing and letting sure I wrote that right.
[00:30:14] Okay, it is good.
[00:30:16] I've never heard of a cat.
[00:30:17] Me either.
[00:30:18] It looks like a sequel.
[00:30:20] Genet be real.
[00:30:23] So in the live action version, Skuddle is a genet.
[00:30:25] He is not she.
[00:30:27] She was me.
[00:30:28] Wow, my apologies.
[00:30:30] In this day and age.
[00:30:31] She is not a sequel and this allows her to actually dive into the water.
[00:30:36] Giving her a little bit more of a character.
[00:30:38] I mean, granted, I haven't seen this movie but.
[00:30:41] Skuddle's don't dive in the water?
[00:30:42] No, they pick up the water if they see a fish but they don't dive in the water.
[00:30:47] According to the internet,
[00:30:48] I don't really know much about sequels honestly.
[00:30:51] I'm not going to claim to me now that you've heard.
[00:30:54] Yeah, I'm not the expert.
[00:30:56] So where else have you seen Skuddle?
[00:30:58] Aside from the little mermaid both the animated and live action.
[00:31:02] The little mermaid too returned to the sea and little mermaid areas beginning.
[00:31:06] So all of the sequels.
[00:31:08] Skuddle has also made cameo appearances in 1996's animated sitcom starring Donald Duck and his family.
[00:31:16] Called Quack Pack.
[00:31:18] Anybody seen Quack Pack?
[00:31:19] Where's Terran to need him?
[00:31:21] Oh, I'm not a girl.
[00:31:22] I'm not a girl.
[00:31:24] No, no, no.
[00:31:26] Yeah, no, no, no, no.
[00:31:29] Terran's chances are he has the t-shirt though.
[00:31:32] So Skuddle has also been seen numerous times in the animated television series from the early 2000s called House of Mouse.
[00:31:39] Now that comes up on here a lot.
[00:31:40] A lot of these characters that I do for who that are on House of Mouse.
[00:31:45] I think that that TV show I've never seen it.
[00:31:47] I don't even actually know what it is, but it feels like it takes all these sort of weird andcillary
[00:31:52] characters and throws them into a TV show. Okay,
[00:31:55] sounds cool. Yeah.
[00:31:56] And so
[00:31:57] in House of Mouse, Skuddle is usually accompanied by Ariel and Sebastian with sort of makes sense. He's
[00:32:02] not just on his own. In 2023's
[00:32:05] Once Upon a Studio, which is on Disney Plus, Skuddle interrupts Ariel and tries to sing the chorus of when you wish upon a star.
[00:32:12] However, Skuddle's Squawk leads to notoriously terrible singing and eventually gets caught off by blue from the jungle book.
[00:32:22] Skuddle can also be found in the Disneyland parks of course.
[00:32:25] In the Disney parks, of course.
[00:32:26] Skuddle is at Tokyo Disney.
[00:32:28] He's an narrator for a couple of rides.
[00:32:31] He's also the narrator of Ariel's Undersea Adventure in DCA and the same ride in Magic Kingdom.
[00:32:37] But in Florida, he's also the host of a scavenger hunt game that guests can play while
[00:32:42] they're in line.
[00:32:43] That makes sense?
[00:32:44] Which is awesome.
[00:32:45] Yeah, sounds cool.
[00:32:46] The lines in Florida are so much better than the lines of California.
[00:32:50] But downside is that line moves so fast now you.
[00:32:53] I bet.
[00:32:53] You would just have to stop and tell people to walk past you to play the game.
[00:32:58] And then that's just such an awkward thing to do.
[00:33:00] Yeah.
[00:33:01] Also, you're in Florida.
[00:33:02] That's the other day.
[00:33:04] That's the other townside.
[00:33:05] So Skuddle was animated by Rick Farm Milo, Rick Farmalo, who also animated basal
[00:33:12] Toby and Dawson from the Great Mouse Detective, Lufu from Beauty and the Beast and a
[00:33:18] Boo from Aladdin.
[00:33:19] And he did all these before leaving the Walt Disney company to go work for D-D-D-D-D-D-D
[00:33:25] Dreamworks.
[00:33:26] Oh, no.
[00:33:27] Yeah.
[00:33:28] In the original animated The Little Mermaid, Skuddle was voiced by very well-known actor, voice
[00:33:33] actor and comedian Buddy Hackett.
[00:33:36] Guddle's television appearances were voiced by Maurice Lamar's just Harnell and Chris
[00:33:41] Edgerlee, who continues to voice him today.
[00:33:44] The live action female version of Skuddle was voiced by actress Rapper and comedian Aquafina.
[00:33:50] She's the worst dude.
[00:33:51] I just like, oh my god.
[00:33:53] Because she's unfunny and just kind of unfunny.
[00:33:57] I don't know.
[00:33:58] I don't like her.
[00:33:59] Jason has a thing about comedians.
[00:34:00] I like her true.
[00:34:02] So is she refreshing to see on screen?
[00:34:05] Also, it was Aquafina.
[00:34:06] Like, come stop it.
[00:34:08] The name itself is like, okay, you know what you're doing.
[00:34:12] Yeah, but it's not funny.
[00:34:13] I don't know.
[00:34:13] It just does whatever.
[00:34:15] Go ahead.
[00:34:16] In conclusion, call him or her, loopy or misinformed.
[00:34:21] Even call him a well, a no-it-all.
[00:34:23] But whatever you do, don't forget that if it weren't for Skuddle, Ursula would have shriveled
[00:34:28] up King Triton into that weird little, trippy thing, an aerial would've never grown
[00:34:33] legs, song or spoken again.
[00:34:35] Plus, I mean, who knows what would've happened with Prince Eric?
[00:34:37] I mean, the poor guy having to marry Vanessa, slash Ursula.
[00:34:42] Yikes.
[00:34:43] Anyway, thanks to Skuddle's ability to fly, he is the real hero that aerial needed.
[00:34:49] Oh, I'm trying to find out music.
[00:34:52] I'm not ignoring you.
[00:34:53] I know.
[00:34:54] Yeah, I don't have it.
[00:34:55] Oh, what made me this?
[00:34:57] This is the scene where our moon pilot is out on the town with the girl.
[00:35:02] It creates a crisis on top of a crisis.
[00:35:04] The countdown has already been started.
[00:35:07] The general is worried about his astronaut.
[00:35:09] Very good.
[00:35:10] Thanks.
[00:35:12] So, perfect.
[00:35:13] Yikes, it buzz.
[00:35:14] All right, that's a quick break.
[00:35:15] Everybody, we're going to come right back and we're going to read some Disney news,
[00:35:18] which I definitely have music for for that.
[00:35:20] It's not going to be another boring ass.
[00:35:22] You know, whatever random crap I found on my, on my soundboard from Moon pilot,
[00:35:28] but you know, whatever.
[00:35:30] What is the pink button, dude?
[00:35:32] Uh, it does this, actually.
[00:35:33] Tonight Walt Disney presented a few scenes from a Celeria Space Age comedy motion picture,
[00:35:39] Moon pilot.
[00:35:40] In Moon pilot, you'll again meet that Celeria Space Happy Ask O'Chips.
[00:35:44] Who really blips his lid when he's fellow astronaut and Moon pilot,
[00:35:47] falls for a mysterious girl from outer space.
[00:35:50] I'm done.
[00:35:51] Wow.
[00:35:52] Yeah, I didn't put it in the show.
[00:35:53] These are just things I had.
[00:35:55] Yeah, the chip is in the movie for five minutes.
[00:35:57] It's not like a big thing.
[00:35:58] You're going to meet the chip.
[00:35:59] But whatever.
[00:36:00] Anyway, let's take a quick break.
[00:36:00] We're already, we'll be right back here on Earsop.
[00:36:03] I'm going to send Disney plus.
[00:36:05] Wow.
[00:36:06] We'll be right back on Disney plus.
[00:36:08] Don't go anywhere.
[00:36:10] And then we have this whole sound effect.
[00:36:12] Uh, don't go anywhere on Disney plus.
[00:36:18] Uh,
[00:36:24] Back to Earsop where the opinions never stop.
[00:36:28] Ever.
[00:36:30] Thanks for sticking around, everyone.
[00:36:31] You know, I got to say it's uh, what is it?
[00:36:34] September 19th right now.
[00:36:36] And I just pulled out my Halloween clothes package or whatever.
[00:36:42] It's Halloween shirt time everybody.
[00:36:44] That's all I'm saying right now.
[00:36:46] So I'm ready for it.
[00:36:47] I've been ready for it and that's all.
[00:36:50] I love that.
[00:36:50] So I got to say I'm wearing a Halloween shirt of screen shirt.
[00:36:55] And so every show between now and middle of November,
[00:36:58] I'm going to have some sort of different Halloween
[00:37:00] treatment because uh,
[00:37:02] it just doesn't make sense to wear the stuff that I wear during Halloween in like August.
[00:37:08] No, although that's pretty good.
[00:37:10] I do have to say I sometimes because the Halloween story show is so important to me.
[00:37:16] Yeah.
[00:37:16] Every once in a while, I'll be like laying in bed.
[00:37:19] It'll be like June or February and I'll be laying in bed and I'll have this thought.
[00:37:23] And I'll be like,
[00:37:25] yes.
[00:37:25] And like it's like just like a snippet of an idea for a story and so I'll email myself
[00:37:31] and the subject is always like Halloween story.
[00:37:35] So when we started this show,
[00:37:36] I was like, oh my god that's coming up and I emailed myself
[00:37:40] and I couldn't remember when so I just checked my email.
[00:37:43] Because sometimes I then I look back and I'm like,
[00:37:44] Oh, that was a terrible idea.
[00:37:46] No, sure.
[00:37:46] I don't even know what I meant.
[00:37:47] Right.
[00:37:48] So I just looked it up and first of all, it was in January.
[00:37:52] Okay, great.
[00:37:53] And it's good.
[00:37:56] It's just, it's just two words and I'm like, oh yeah, no, I know where I was going with that.
[00:38:00] And I'm ready.
[00:38:02] I'm so excited.
[00:38:03] All right.
[00:38:04] Yeah, I'm looking forward to it.
[00:38:05] Eric, are you looking forward to it?
[00:38:07] I'm, are you gonna be on drugs again?
[00:38:10] I won't be on drugs.
[00:38:11] Okay.
[00:38:11] That'll be great.
[00:38:13] Second year, I'll.
[00:38:14] And Terran, I'm vibing with you because I'm laughing
[00:38:18] because recently I'm like, I wrote something down the other night.
[00:38:22] What was it?
[00:38:23] So on August 4th at 1145 PM,
[00:38:26] I wrote maybe the lamp gets destroyed.
[00:38:31] The wall, the lamp and walled's office or studio.
[00:38:34] A part of that's the whole idea I have.
[00:38:36] Hey, why didn't I write more?
[00:38:38] Because you don't have more.
[00:38:40] You know, more comes later.
[00:38:42] Yeah.
[00:38:43] Yeah.
[00:38:43] Yeah, I think it'll be cool.
[00:38:44] It'd be good to get someone else on here too.
[00:38:46] I'll see if Terran's or Bev want to come back on.
[00:38:49] I know Bev won't because she hates it.
[00:38:52] She would come on to listen, but not to write a story.
[00:38:54] Nobody's gonna come on.
[00:38:55] But I don't need her to sit there and go, oh, that's great.
[00:38:57] And then she's yelling at Abby to get out of the kitchen
[00:39:00] or yelling at Sam because he's Sam and like that's it.
[00:39:03] You know, contributors only.
[00:39:05] Ah, you don't trust him.
[00:39:07] Well, then it's not going to be Bev.
[00:39:08] Well, that's true.
[00:39:11] Summer is just around the corner.
[00:39:12] And our friends at the 21st Amendment brewery
[00:39:14] are welcoming the warmer weather with open arms and refreshing favorite
[00:39:18] Hell or High Watermelon wheat.
[00:39:21] Picture this, a sunny day, a smell of barbecue in the air
[00:39:25] and a cold crisp, hell or high watermelon in your hand.
[00:39:29] It's the ultimate summer-tam companion,
[00:39:31] perfect for those unforgettable gatherings with friends and family.
[00:39:35] But what makes hell or high watermelon so special?
[00:39:38] It's not just its bright, straw color or tight white bubble.
[00:39:41] No, it's the subtle.
[00:39:42] We gotta get more.
[00:39:42] This is for it.
[00:39:43] It goes away for the season.
[00:39:44] This is a watermelon hit.
[00:39:45] Yeah, juicy watermelon that sets it apart from the rest.
[00:39:48] With its refreshing flavor and delightful light fruit notes.
[00:39:51] Hell or high water.
[00:39:52] Because I love a refreshing flavor.
[00:39:53] That's me.
[00:39:54] That's my whole thing.
[00:39:55] Homagrant next though.
[00:39:56] 9% of who it's true.
[00:39:58] You can enjoy it all day long.
[00:40:00] Yeah, everyone's heard this for.
[00:40:01] Forget about the hell or high water, pomegranate.
[00:40:04] Hell or high pomegranate.
[00:40:05] That's what you gotta do.
[00:40:06] So when you're checking out beers at the store or whatever or whatever.
[00:40:11] As if there's another place from the homeless guy around the corner.
[00:40:14] He's by his shoulder tapping him to go by a beer.
[00:40:18] You're like, you know it.
[00:40:20] Yeah, the hell or woman's great.
[00:40:22] And if you can find it, get it for sure.
[00:40:23] But look for the pomegranate.
[00:40:25] It's not like an overtly sour.
[00:40:27] Like pomegranate juice can be.
[00:40:29] But it's a very like dark fruit flavor that they do really well.
[00:40:34] So check that out.
[00:40:36] It's so good for fall.
[00:40:36] It's the perfect.
[00:40:37] That's true.
[00:40:39] Yeah, absolutely.
[00:40:40] Spooky season drinks everybody.
[00:40:42] I love an air.
[00:40:42] I've never had the pomegranate.
[00:40:44] Oh, really delicious.
[00:40:45] Oh, still.
[00:40:46] We don't always get a whole lot of the 21st amendment out here.
[00:40:49] What in the email sell you right now?
[00:40:52] I'm going to email him.
[00:40:53] You're going to see if we can set you up with some.
[00:40:55] Right now.
[00:40:55] Yeah, yeah.
[00:40:56] I'm going to do it right now because I, you know, have nothing else to do.
[00:41:00] I know, I know he said we won't get it because he's in like Spain or something right now.
[00:41:05] Yeah, he's got a great life for man.
[00:41:07] When your business partner turns, you know, 80 year or whatever, uh, for Eric,
[00:41:11] I'll do it later.
[00:41:12] I'm not going to type him out.
[00:41:14] Uh, but what I will do now.
[00:41:16] March in the past, present and future with all the news that's Finti Cover.
[00:41:21] It's the years up Disney News.
[00:41:24] All right.
[00:41:25] There's a fair amount of news to cover.
[00:41:27] And I think maybe it's a little bit of it is old, but I don't mind.
[00:41:31] Guess Finti still to talk about.
[00:41:33] Great.
[00:41:34] This is a weird one.
[00:41:35] Let's just start with a weird one right out of the bad.
[00:41:37] This is from Metro.CO.uk and their sub tag or sub headline.
[00:41:44] Or whatever is news dot dot dot dot dot.
[00:41:46] But not as you know it.
[00:41:48] So I don't know what that means.
[00:41:50] Is that a intriguing?
[00:41:52] Is it, uh, you know, just a more on the nose version of the onion?
[00:41:56] I don't know.
[00:41:58] Babel on B.
[00:42:00] This, uh, the headline says.
[00:42:03] She's dead Disney facing fresh claims of homophobia after shocking
[00:42:08] Insider reports.
[00:42:10] Uh, yeah.
[00:42:13] Disney Pixar fans have shared their horror after Insiders claimed
[00:42:16] Insider out to is made to be, quote, less gay amid ongoing backlash
[00:42:21] to Disney's LGBTQ plus track record.
[00:42:25] And I've heard some of this before.
[00:42:27] Oh, so that's well, let's, you know, let's talk about if I've heard of it
[00:42:29] then I'm, I'm sure at least someone else's heard of inside out
[00:42:33] to check back in with 13 year old Riley when Puberty hits and
[00:42:37] anxiety runs right in her mind.
[00:42:40] The plot proved a major success and after comfortably pushing past the
[00:42:43] million mark inside out to has become the highest grossing animated film of all
[00:42:50] time.
[00:42:50] Uh, really?
[00:42:52] Wow.
[00:42:52] Yeah, man.
[00:42:53] Yeah.
[00:42:54] During the movie, Riley attends a hockey camp where she meets the
[00:42:57] effortlessly cool captain, Val, who she immediately puts on a pedestal.
[00:43:02] And LGBTQ plus fans were quick to speculate whether Riley was in the
[00:43:06] throws of a crush.
[00:43:08] This was only feud fueled by the thread throughout the film that Riley was
[00:43:12] hiding a deep dark secret.
[00:43:14] You've seen that, is it true?
[00:43:15] Is that a thing?
[00:43:16] I have seen the movie.
[00:43:18] Yeah, and there is a deep dark secret.
[00:43:20] You eventually find out what the deep dark secret is.
[00:43:23] That's a fun and a movie thing.
[00:43:26] Wait, I don't feel like I remember that.
[00:43:28] What the deep dark secret is.
[00:43:30] Hold on.
[00:43:31] Everybody spoiler alert.
[00:43:33] Spoiler alert.
[00:43:34] Tell me what it is.
[00:43:35] It would have to look it up because like,
[00:43:41] It's interesting.
[00:43:44] I can kind of see where people are going with this, but it's.
[00:43:49] I'm sure we'll get to there with the rest of the story here.
[00:43:52] But yeah, you know, it is read to me like this was an older girl that's doing a sport
[00:43:58] that's that's excelling at a thing that Riley wants to do.
[00:44:02] And so she's looking up to this person.
[00:44:04] But that's my view as a heterosexual male who where I'm like, oh, yeah,
[00:44:11] I remember when I looked up to older,
[00:44:13] the upper class men in the school.
[00:44:15] Like, oh, wow, it would be cool to be like that person.
[00:44:17] Here's the thing about outrage on for whatever whatever it is.
[00:44:21] It involves a fair amount of projection.
[00:44:25] Yeah.
[00:44:25] And you know, that's all, you know, it's all you can really say.
[00:44:27] I'm sure it's all your experience, but the dynamic was never explicitly addressed in the film.
[00:44:31] But now emerging sources from inside Pixar animation studios have claimed they were instructed to ensure
[00:44:38] the relationship came across as platonic.
[00:44:42] Anonymous Pixar employees told IGN that they were told to make the film less gay, which led
[00:44:47] to numerous edits.
[00:44:49] Sources spoke about the rumors that a particular focus was put on Riley and Val's relationship
[00:44:54] with lighting and tone adjusted to remove traces of, quote, romantic chemistry.
[00:44:59] Quote, it was just doing a lot of extra work to make sure that no one would potentially see them as not straight.
[00:45:04] One source alleged to the publication.
[00:45:07] The struggle I'm having with this and maybe this is more something I should talk about with my therapist and not here.
[00:45:14] But the struggle I'm having is that like,
[00:45:16] I think that's what having friends is like when you start making friends,
[00:45:22] like I'm thinking specifically like being freshman, right?
[00:45:25] Being a freshman in high school and you start making friends and, and oh my god,
[00:45:29] the junior is talking to me.
[00:45:32] You're going to put them on a pedestal, whether it's a guy or a girl and like,
[00:45:36] did I have crushes on my girlfriends?
[00:45:39] Like, no, not in like the traditional sense, but like did I put them on a pedestal?
[00:45:43] Sometimes absolutely.
[00:45:45] My therapist called it having star eyes for someone.
[00:45:48] You could have star eyes for someone, but not be romantically interested in it or whatever.
[00:45:54] I think how I saw it.
[00:45:55] Yeah, I think from a storytelling standpoint, I doubt I highly doubt that the mandate from Disney was like,
[00:46:01] make this less gay, this seems to gay.
[00:46:03] What I would bet that if they're not trying to make some sort of like have some subtext of a relationship,
[00:46:11] then they would go, let's analyze this because we got a lot of flack from light year.
[00:46:15] When the rest of the article talks about light year,
[00:46:18] all the outrage that they mentioned was from the light year movie and people were like,
[00:46:22] don't blame a same sex kiss for your inability to write a good movie and we know whatever.
[00:46:28] But with insight out too obviously, that's not the case because it made them billion dollars.
[00:46:32] But I think that you I could absolutely see them putting an extra fine lens on to making sure
[00:46:38] that they're clear about their relationship between the two kids.
[00:46:42] And hey, maybe we should adjust this lighting because it is kind of looks a little weird
[00:46:45] and let's make sure we clean it up a little bit.
[00:46:49] And I think it's more to make it neutral because it's not a romantic story.
[00:46:54] There is no romantic story in there.
[00:46:56] Also, she's 13 years old.
[00:46:58] We don't need a romantic story with a 13 year old.
[00:47:01] We don't do it.
[00:47:03] Sorry.
[00:47:04] Right.
[00:47:04] Yeah, our experience with the movie that we saw was post, potentially this is the the allegation
[00:47:10] was after somebody said, make it less gay.
[00:47:13] Which is, you know, a one anonymous source that you can't believe one anonymous person who does it.
[00:47:21] Yeah, just that you can't do it.
[00:47:23] Anyway, I thought that was interesting, I guess, to a certain extent.
[00:47:27] It is.
[00:47:28] And so just for the record because I have talked about this, I did very much like the movie but I definitely liked the first one more.
[00:47:36] Yeah.
[00:47:37] I thought it was a little chaotic for me and I wasn't as the whole camp thing.
[00:47:42] I kind of thought it was going to go in a different direction.
[00:47:45] I didn't think it was all going to take place at camp and that kind of threw me because I couldn't relate to it as much as the first movie.
[00:47:52] Okay, I think the depiction of anxiety particularly resonated.
[00:47:56] It did and that was fantastic.
[00:47:58] And I thought I was watching it.
[00:47:59] That's the struck.
[00:48:00] Yeah.
[00:48:00] As I was watching it, I was like this is a therapist's dream movie.
[00:48:04] It's like such a good way to just think about and describe anxiety.
[00:48:09] I did love it.
[00:48:11] Great.
[00:48:11] I haven't seen it.
[00:48:13] I don't know.
[00:48:14] I don't know.
[00:48:16] Here's one from a parade magazine.
[00:48:18] It says Disneyland visitors issue serious warning after allegedly receiving gross expired treats.
[00:48:26] You guys read about this at all from Oguvugi Bachelors?
[00:48:30] I'm familiar with some of it and it's just apparently enough to warrant a whole entire article.
[00:48:36] Yeah.
[00:48:37] Anyway, someone online shared a photo saying I got these at this year's Oguvugi Bachelors.
[00:48:44] Are they using last year's supply, LOL in the photo, a bag of Mickey Mouse goldfish snacks was held up to the camera with the best by date as September 15th, 2024.
[00:48:57] The photo was shared on September 16th.
[00:49:00] So there one day expired?
[00:49:02] That's when she posted it.
[00:49:04] I don't know when she like nest is early received it, but pretty much up to the limit.
[00:49:09] I mean, other guests seemed uneasy after seeing the photo with replies like wow, I'm really going to have to check all my bags now.
[00:49:18] That's crazy.
[00:49:20] And I've never checked any dates now and now with the amount of candy I've consumed.
[00:49:26] Weird, smelly emoji.
[00:49:28] So many went to last year's Halloween event claimed happens every year, last year it was the sun chips.
[00:49:34] Other responses to the surprising allegation were gross, disgusting and oh no!
[00:49:40] Another Disneyland, I don't know why I'm doing voices for every, the supposed to be different for every quote and I don't know that they were.
[00:49:47] Another Disneyland visitor checked their treat and realized that their goldfish snacks had a date of August 15th, 2024 writing quote.
[00:49:55] I just checked and I got something that expired over a month ago from Oguybogi Bash this past Thursday.
[00:50:01] Are they checking the treats being distributed?
[00:50:04] Thought, thought, thought, question mark?
[00:50:05] Yeah, just like get over it.
[00:50:08] I took these by the actual treats you're getting for free on the treat trails.
[00:50:11] Yeah, I guess.
[00:50:12] The stuff you buy in the store.
[00:50:13] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:50:13] But it's like so, it's so silly to me.
[00:50:16] Like, I just don't really believe in expiration dates.
[00:50:22] They exist.
[00:50:23] No, I don't believe that.
[00:50:26] But for goldfish, the cracker's observatives in a cracker one day.
[00:50:31] Best Buy, it's Best Buy that date.
[00:50:33] Doesn't mean that it doesn't mean that it's toxic.
[00:50:36] Well, this led to more upset reactions from some others defended Disneyland with pointing out that these are best buy dates, not expiration dates.
[00:50:44] One fan explained quote,
[00:50:46] That's why they put Best Buy not expired on most products now.
[00:50:50] More of a freshness date than a don't eat date.
[00:50:53] Another said the same thing, but added,
[00:50:55] Regardless, I'm not sure why they're giving stuff that's not fresh out.
[00:50:59] I was nervous going into that quote because I didn't have another voice.
[00:51:03] You pulled it off really late.
[00:51:05] According to the food safety and inspection service quote,
[00:51:08] A best if used by before date indicates when a product will be a best flavor or quality.
[00:51:13] It is not a purchase or safety date.
[00:51:15] An expiration or used by date is the last date recommended for the use of the product while at peak quality.
[00:51:22] Disneyland has not publicly responded to the situation.
[00:51:26] Yeah, so Polyd is not getting a response to this at all.
[00:51:30] Yeah, I mean, you know what?
[00:51:31] Do I believe it sure?
[00:51:33] Does it happen?
[00:51:35] Did they buy 15 pounds of goldfish last year and only go through 14?
[00:51:40] Possibly.
[00:51:41] I'm sure the manufacturer's give it to them too.
[00:51:44] Well, considering they're going to make you make a mess.
[00:51:46] They're about a bunch of old stuff.
[00:51:48] Yeah.
[00:51:48] You know what?
[00:51:49] Like, oh, crap, we gotta get these out on day one.
[00:51:52] Yeah, it's funny because this article has these are from Twitter and they have like the tweets embedded into the article.
[00:52:01] So you can see the one with the goldfish at 77 likes and 12 replies.
[00:52:06] But it's 70's.
[00:52:08] Go we're doing an article.
[00:52:09] Yeah, I wouldn't call that viral.
[00:52:11] The other one has a 12, 112 likes.
[00:52:15] I mean, this, I think was on the Disneyland subreddit too, but like it just seems like a not such a non issue.
[00:52:22] Oh man.
[00:52:22] People just want to be mad at stuff.
[00:52:24] Which I get.
[00:52:26] On one of our last trips to Walt Disney World, I remember we were staying at the Riviera and on our last day.
[00:52:33] We were just kind of hanging out in the gift shop, you know, waiting for the bus to come and take us out to the airport.
[00:52:39] And they had a whole rack of like the Disney candy stuff.
[00:52:44] And they had one rack that was that was labeled 50% off.
[00:52:50] And I took a look at it and we really liked character gummies.
[00:52:53] And we have a friend whose kid really likes the character gummies we always buy a few packs for him.
[00:52:59] And and for ourselves, but 50% off. Oh yeah, what's going on.
[00:53:02] And the person running the shop said just letting you know, the best by date is like next week.
[00:53:11] That's why it's discounted. We're like, okay.
[00:53:14] Great. There, there gummies. It'll be, it'll be fine.
[00:53:19] Yeah.
[00:53:20] We bought like 10.
[00:53:20] Yeah.
[00:53:21] And I get that you have to have standard gift of food standards.
[00:53:24] Totally fun.
[00:53:26] But it's a cracker that that was best by yesterday.
[00:53:29] You're going to be okay. Right.
[00:53:31] Like to waste the digital.
[00:53:33] It's not a good test.
[00:53:35] I've deserved the best. I live in this country.
[00:53:39] Gosh, darn it.
[00:53:39] Here's a good. It's a couple of feel good stories before we get back into the muck.
[00:53:43] I don't know if you guys remember, I think there was a couple of years ago.
[00:53:47] In Florida, you can get a Disney world themed license plate.
[00:53:52] You know, a lot of states have these themed license plate.
[00:53:54] Like we have one with a palm tree on it and it goes to like, you know, help contribute to the arts programs and schools or whatever right?
[00:54:01] Because, you know, we're all truest.
[00:54:04] Is that the right word?
[00:54:05] You said the word?
[00:54:06] Sure.
[00:54:07] I don't know.
[00:54:07] Okay.
[00:54:08] Anyway, this one has a, you know, silhouette of the castle or water.
[00:54:12] Well, apparently people in Florida have really shown out for this.
[00:54:16] And a lot of people have paid extra for this license plate.
[00:54:19] So Disney raised $3 million for this organization.
[00:54:24] Because of Florida drivers, Walt Disney World has helped raise 3 million for the Make a Wish Foundation.
[00:54:31] Uh-huh.
[00:54:31] 100% of the sales from the theme parks specialty license plates go to children battling critical illnesses.
[00:54:37] The funds benefit the make a wish since central and northern Florida.
[00:54:42] The money helps grant wishes for hundreds of local families including sending over 300 families on trips and spreading happiness and hope.
[00:54:49] Disney officials say this is a new fundraising milestone for the company.
[00:54:53] That's really nice.
[00:54:55] Yeah, it's kind of cool man.
[00:54:56] Those interested in purchasing a Walt Disney World, especially license plate can visit any Florida DMV or local county tax collectors office.
[00:55:03] Ah, yada, yada, yada.
[00:55:05] So I thought it was neat.
[00:55:06] It was a good, it was a good, it's nice feel good movie where are you going?
[00:55:09] No, not movie, but you know, she's fed up with all the goods.
[00:55:12] She's come out of here.
[00:55:13] Fun.
[00:55:13] Good stuff, right?
[00:55:15] Yeah.
[00:55:15] Good job, Florida, which is weird because to me that just sounds like socialism and that's what
[00:55:19] we were against that, but that's you know, you're not helping out.
[00:55:22] I'm helping out sick children just because they're sick.
[00:55:24] And how dare we come on now?
[00:55:27] This article is weird.
[00:55:29] I don't know anything about it.
[00:55:31] I will say this, the, I clicked on it from the headline alone.
[00:55:35] I just learned something about Disney World.
[00:55:38] That might fix my single biggest problem at the resort.
[00:55:41] Oh, yes, I know right?
[00:55:44] I know.
[00:55:44] And then the subheading is there is one thing that drives me crazy at Disney World.
[00:55:50] So this news changes everything, which bought wrote this story.
[00:55:54] Yeah, right?
[00:55:55] I know.
[00:55:56] Well, this is from cinema blends resident theme park expert and they pride themselves on their knowledge of theme parker's orcs.
[00:56:03] Let's see, I'm trying to, I'm trying to like weed through the mock here.
[00:56:05] There's a lot that I can still tell about places in Rabin, but the fact is places like Walt Disney World are so massive and so constantly changing
[00:56:12] that it's impossible to know everything.
[00:56:14] There's always something new at Disney World that I don't know, but I'm not sure this piece of news is even that new except to me.
[00:56:22] You can track Disney World buses on Google Maps now and this changes everything.
[00:56:29] Huh?
[00:56:29] That's basically it.
[00:56:30] Google Maps now has Disney world updates for buses.
[00:56:34] That's pretty cool.
[00:56:35] That's cool.
[00:56:36] It is.
[00:56:37] This guy says, this is an absolute game changer.
[00:56:39] I'm not overstating it when I say that waiting for Disney World buses is the absolute worst thing you can find yourself doing at the resort.
[00:56:47] I hate it.
[00:56:48] But grabbing a bus from your resort in the morning is usually no big deal as the day goes on.
[00:56:52] It feels like whatever bus you're waiting for never arrive.
[00:56:56] If you arrive at a Disney World theme park bus station in the evening,
[00:56:59] only to see a bus to your hotel just pulling out.
[00:57:02] Get ready because the next one could be a long way off.
[00:57:06] It's awful.
[00:57:07] And somehow while you're waiting for the next bus to your resort, three of them are going to a different resort.
[00:57:11] We'll pull up one after the other.
[00:57:13] I definitely remember that experience.
[00:57:16] Well, and the bus that was supposed to grab us from someplace and take us to Epcot, I think, like broke down to they were sending another bus.
[00:57:23] But yeah, three other buses came by.
[00:57:25] Can we just...
[00:57:26] Can we just...
[00:57:27] Can't we just...
[00:57:27] Can we just...
[00:57:27] Can we just...
[00:57:32] Can we just...
[00:57:35] Okay.
[00:57:36] We should tell Evan Terrence and then see if it works well for them.
[00:57:40] I don't care enough about them to...
[00:57:42] There's just any springs right now.
[00:57:43] Why just meant so they can give us content.
[00:57:46] There are Disney's.
[00:57:46] How do you know there are Disney Springs right now?
[00:57:48] Because I talked to Terrence earlier today.
[00:57:51] All right, man.
[00:57:53] Here's an article about the new Deadpool.
[00:57:55] Maybe they're in bed.
[00:57:56] I don't know.
[00:57:56] It's like...
[00:57:58] Ryan Reynolds says Bob Eiger asked one line to be cut from Deadpool and Wolverine,
[00:58:04] which I still don't know why Bob Eiger is shoving his stupid nose in media.
[00:58:10] Yeah, why does he just want to be office and said,
[00:58:13] Make it less gay.
[00:58:14] He blanched.
[00:58:15] Deadpool Wolverine star Ryan Reynolds says Disney CEO Bob Eiger requested one line be removed from the
[00:58:21] Arrayed Marvel Superhero movie.
[00:58:25] Um, but will it say?
[00:58:27] Well, Reynolds...
[00:58:28] Say there was only one line in the entire film that they asked me to take out.
[00:58:31] After Reynolds resisted giving him the police from the crowd to say what line what the line was he added.
[00:58:37] And they were right.
[00:58:38] Reynolds then further recalled his thought process when it came to request,
[00:58:42] when it came to the request to remove the objectional line.
[00:58:46] As soon as someone says something like Ryan Bob Eiger here,
[00:58:49] would love it if you take that one line out.
[00:58:51] It's really going to make our life hard over here.
[00:58:53] As soon as they say that, there's just something in my brain that goes,
[00:58:56] Must keep lying.
[00:58:58] And as soon as the fog of war lifts and you have a second thought,
[00:59:01] it's like, of course I can take that out.
[00:59:03] Can I say something about Pinocchio instead?
[00:59:05] And the answer is yes.
[00:59:07] I wonder if he said something about Mickey Mouse.
[00:59:10] Yeah.
[00:59:10] He was like, hmm.
[00:59:13] Probably can't.
[00:59:14] Apparently he doesn't say what the line was, which I assume they would.
[00:59:17] Well, there you go.
[00:59:18] Yeah, I mean, just stop dude.
[00:59:21] Just let him do the things man.
[00:59:23] Whatever.
[00:59:24] Whatever.
[00:59:25] Who cares?
[00:59:26] Speaking of Bob Eiger.
[00:59:28] This is where the Disney CEO candidates stand right now.
[00:59:32] It's article from variety.
[00:59:37] So apparently they are now Disney in August.
[00:59:40] We haven't even covered this.
[00:59:41] Disney announced that board member James Pete Gorman
[00:59:44] would lead the planning committee task with orchestrating the hand off of power
[00:59:48] to an Iger and his heir.
[00:59:51] So Iger can't basically Iger can't pick anybody.
[00:59:54] And so the board is like, we're going to help you old man.
[00:59:58] Come here Grandpa.
[00:59:59] We're going to shovel you back into bed while we figure out who's going to take over
[01:00:03] because he doesn't say $60 million.
[01:00:06] Yeah.
[01:00:07] He doesn't think anybody is good enough.
[01:00:10] Apparently not.
[01:00:11] I mean of all the CEOs in the entire world that he knows.
[01:00:15] Not one of them would either willing or able or capable to do this.
[01:00:21] But like there's nobody in the entire human existence right now on this planet.
[01:00:27] That is able to do this job.
[01:00:28] He is the only one.
[01:00:30] I don't know if you know that.
[01:00:32] He is the chosen one.
[01:00:33] He will lead us into temptation.
[01:00:39] The promised land.
[01:00:40] Something like that.
[01:00:41] It's just it's crazy.
[01:00:42] It seems so weird.
[01:00:44] Roughly two weeks after Gorman was tapped,
[01:00:46] the New York Times published an impressive account of the implosion of Bob
[01:00:49] James.
[01:00:50] I don't know if it was an implosion so much as I'm supposed to set shaped charge detonation.
[01:00:56] Yeah.
[01:00:56] Yeah.
[01:00:57] Chaper goes a door and Bob Eiger was sealed.
[01:01:00] He's preaching.
[01:01:02] Let's see.
[01:01:04] Trying to find this thing.
[01:01:05] See, Dan Dana Walden, a co-chairman of Disney Entertainment still has a leading edge according
[01:01:10] to nearly a dozen industry players, corporate rivals and Disney sources who spoke with variety.
[01:01:15] She is the chief den of television at the company and the Emmy Hall putture at the
[01:01:20] top of the class.
[01:01:22] I sat at the executive with decades of talent relations under her belt Walden is seen as
[01:01:26] the closest spiritual successor to Eiger, an executive who projects a placid kind of perfection
[01:01:32] and prioritizes creative output.
[01:01:35] Quote, Dana is smart and all in for this opportunity says one powerful show business
[01:01:40] figure close to her.
[01:01:41] But Walden shouldn't start rearranging the furniture and Eiger's executive sweet.
[01:01:46] She's doing up there.
[01:01:47] Why she in there?
[01:01:48] What do you need to worry about Eiger's executive sweet?
[01:01:50] Leave it alone.
[01:01:52] But she has limited experience with parks, cruises and Disney's valuable franchise
[01:01:56] if businesses in film.
[01:01:57] She's also been inserted into a current election cycle.
[01:02:01] Her friendship with White House hopeful Kamala Harris made headline as ABC News hosted a debate
[01:02:06] to inherit some Trump last month.
[01:02:09] Whatever.
[01:02:09] Dude, like there's then there's Josh tomorrow.
[01:02:12] He isn't as well known as Walden.
[01:02:14] I would offer to say he's probably more or yeah, no, to casual fans definitely, right?
[01:02:21] But he has the kind of operational experience that could appeal to board members and shareholder.
[01:02:26] Sources noted the plug tomorrow gave himself at August D23 fan convention while announcing a new villain land
[01:02:33] coming to Walt Disney World, the magic mirror from Snow White named check him personally on stage
[01:02:38] before hyping attractions that will go inside the layers of Ursula and Maleficent.
[01:02:43] Others note his similar lack of experience facing Wall Street but conceived that it takes creative
[01:02:48] chops to program parks content, parks content and managed Disney's vented Imagineers.
[01:02:55] Anyone beyond Dana or Josh is probably a stretch says one person blah, blah, blah, I'm not going to go on because that's kind of enough already.
[01:03:02] I, I'm what makes me nervous is there's it's a battle between entertainment and the parks.
[01:03:10] Yeah, and I think that this indecision is sort of showcasing the problem with Disney for the last 10, 15 years.
[01:03:18] Yeah, is their prioritizing entertainment over the parks and they have the Disneyland forward and that's all coming out.
[01:03:25] And that's fine. That's great. So I guess there's kind of like a roadmap but I don't like the fact that tomorrow could be potentially
[01:03:32] counted out because he's so parks centric and he's not involved so much with the entertainment side of thing.
[01:03:38] In my opinion, I don't think the CEO of this company should be infatuated with the movies and TV shows like The Way I Gare is.
[01:03:47] There's no need for it because that's one bad decisions are made in bad movies and just yeah well and it pulls focus.
[01:03:54] Yeah, and that's what I've been saying for a long time like you you're the CEO you're the head of the umbrella.
[01:04:01] What a friday, no man.
[01:04:04] You hire people that you trust to make decisions in those wings for entertainment or whatever.
[01:04:11] Why are you?
[01:04:11] But I guess you could say the same the other way too.
[01:04:14] Yeah, you can for sure absolutely like and that's what I say, you know, like about you at your company.
[01:04:18] You don't need to know how everything works to be able to make decisions. You really don't you need to have some some sort of like idea obviously about how things working.
[01:04:26] You need to have a good, you know, rapport with everybody and you have to obviously have an idea of of the business right.
[01:04:32] But the day to day workings, you don't need that because you're how you're trusting the people and you're hiring these people.
[01:04:38] Yeah, you're a cheap executive.
[01:04:39] Yeah, they're other people that can get into that.
[01:04:40] Right exactly. I mean, imagine like, you know, you hire somebody to like run this the film side of things.
[01:04:46] And then you then go step in and then you go, hey, can you take this line out? Hey, can you do this thing?
[01:04:52] Dude, what am I doing here? Why did you hire me? Bob, if you want to do it then you friggin do it.
[01:04:57] Yeah.
[01:04:58] Jerk.
[01:04:59] That's what I see with this whole thing where like that's I think maybe the problem is he's trying to find a goalie locks replacement.
[01:05:05] But I think that job has too many working parts anyways and he needs to be delegating and he's not he's a micromanager.
[01:05:12] It's not the days of Walton. It's it's not even the days of Eisner both of whom were notorious micromanagers walking through and pointing at things and saying,
[01:05:22] Make that make that better or yeah, we're going to do this movie, not that movie but they cut that line out.
[01:05:28] I mean, it's it's so much more complicated now with all the different revenue streams and yeah, we need somebody creative in there.
[01:05:36] Yeah, I don't like I don't like the idea of of somebody leading this company who's not a creative and
[01:05:41] creative is not reading a scripting. I don't like this line right it's taking a bet on something and saying, I think America will like this I think the world will like this concept. I think we can go with this.
[01:05:52] Yeah, I mean if you think about it, the reason that Disney became successful was because of all done I might be okay so Walt was always the creative guy but Roy was the money guy, but the reason that Disney was successful was both
[01:06:09] And it's almost like how do you find that person now that is both creative.
[01:06:15] Like I don't think you can, which is the problem and like it's almost like they need another level like or like co captain or something like
[01:06:25] You're not going to the 7 what they're looking for is a unicorn and you're not going to find it so I do think you're either going to find the one that's that does all the money, which is the entertainment side
[01:06:35] I'm not to say that that's where all the money comes from but like I feel like that's more money focused than the creative side.
[01:06:43] I think maybe that's not maybe it's opposite. I don't know what I'm saying anymore, but what I'm saying is that they are looking for a unicorn and I don't think they're going to find it and it's going to be weird.
[01:06:53] Yeah, we'll see man. Have you guys been following the direct TV Disney war?
[01:06:58] Oh yeah, somewhat. I mean I just know it's not over.
[01:07:01] It is, it is, yeah. It is in fact over. The deal reached last week will allow direct TV to offer certain genres specific packages to subscribers such as sports entertainment and family content.
[01:07:14] So there's a whole thing and apparently Disney content was off of direct TV for a few days like through the debate but not but not but they got reinstated in time for the Emmys. Thank God.
[01:07:26] I mean, we almost had the most important television moment of our year disrupted. You know what I mean?
[01:07:34] Geez Louise. Apparently it was just over like pricing and what price to direct TV satellite streaming and you versus customers Disney's content would go to.
[01:07:43] The dispute began at the start of September when Disney's and direct TV's old contract, called old contract expired.
[01:07:50] At the core of the dispute was that Disney felt direct TV wasn't offering it the money its content was worth.
[01:07:57] Meanwhile, direct TV wanted more flexibility in how to bundle the content which is kind of putting like a dulling the point on that because what I've read was that direct TV was like a whirling I just we just want to pay for what people use.
[01:08:11] So I guess there's a thing where you can activate the Disney you know stuff. I don't really know too much about it and I don't know how direct TV works but like only 10% of people actually took them up on that offer.
[01:08:23] But Disney wants direct TV to pay for the whole thing if that makes sense as if 100% of people were using the content.
[01:08:33] But so Disney's saying you get the Disney channel you get his ESPN but you also have to get free form.
[01:08:41] I guess.
[01:08:42] But they want they Disney wanted direct TV to pay flat fee but direct TV is like, but not everybody uses these.
[01:08:49] Everybody signs up for these. So why are we paying for content that people aren't using? We don't want to do that.
[01:08:56] Which to any of that's totally sense. Yeah, I know it makes sense right? It's like, but yeah, it's us.
[01:09:01] You know where we push cable if you want to come on us that's fine. If you want to come on ours whatever our infrastructure great.
[01:09:09] But we're not going to just write you a blank check and say okay, how you put a number here. If 10% of our customers use your product and then we're going to pay that we're going to pay what it shouldn't be makes sense.
[01:09:21] Yeah, I don't know.
[01:09:23] Since the two were out of stalemate all of Disney's channels were pulled from direct TV and what is known as a blackout.
[01:09:28] This mean this meant direct TV customers cannot watch Disney owned channels. But on September 14th, a miracle Disney and direct TV announced they had agreed to a new deal thus ending the blackout.
[01:09:41] Through the first of its kind collaboration direct TV and Disney are giving customers the ability to tailor their video experience through more flexible options the statement read in part. But what does that mean?
[01:09:53] For Disney, the answer is money. Neither company revealed what the financial terms of the new deal were but it's unlikely that Disney would have signed on again if the new financial terms weren't sufficiently valuing its content assets.
[01:10:06] As for direct TV, they get the right to continue carrying ABC, ESPN and FX Disney branded channels, free form and national geographic.
[01:10:17] The ability to offer customers new genre specific packages including sports, entertainment and kids and family. That's interesting.
[01:10:24] Some direct TV packages will also include access to Disney plus Hulu and ESPN plus and yeah blah blah blah blah.
[01:10:32] So it's a multi year deal so there you go. But first of all when I first heard about it, I love the fact that direct TV is standing up to Disney.
[01:10:39] And be like, why are we paying you all this money when people aren't using a product?
[01:10:44] Yeah. Who cared? What would you would talk about?
[01:10:47] I love that like two days after the blackout, direct TV increased their prices.
[01:10:53] I was like, hey, I'll do it.
[01:10:57] Just go at it.
[01:11:00] All right, we got two more news stories and they're both pretty good.
[01:11:02] So this is a PDF from the unite here local 737, which is apparently the union that covers a lot of workers at Disney Springs, the subcontracted Disney workers.
[01:11:15] And it reads when guests at Walt Disney World interact with cast members, they can be confident these Disney employees have good jobs benefits and the rights and protections of a union contract.
[01:11:26] When guests at Disney Springs restaurants interact with employees, they might assume that the employees work for Disney.
[01:11:31] In fact, many of them are not Disney employees. They are employees of the subcontractors who operate 56 of the restaurants bars and other food service venues in Disney Springs.
[01:11:42] Many of these Disney Springs restaurant workers do not receive important benefits including health insurance, paid vacation time and paid sick days.
[01:11:50] We conducted a survey of 69 workers of Disney subcontractors at 18 locations at Disney Spring.
[01:11:57] At these 18 locations, there are approximately 960 workers in total.
[01:12:03] The workers we surveyed worked at one of the following locations and it's just blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
[01:12:09] Oh, there it is.
[01:12:12] It's a rainforest cafe.
[01:12:15] More motor Asia blah, blah, blah.
[01:12:17] Why are we, what is it? What?
[01:12:18] I feel like they put this PDF together just to confuse me.
[01:12:22] Keep finding second class jobs standards from employees of Disney Springs as a corner again.
[01:12:28] So of the workers we surveyed, I missed that part, 59% work part time, 46% have no health insurance.
[01:12:35] These are the of the Disney Springs subcontracted restaurants which there are a tonneau.
[01:12:41] All the 19% of respondents have health insurance through their job with a Disney subcontractor.
[01:12:47] Only 26% receive paid sick time.
[01:12:52] That's insane to me.
[01:12:54] That's almost, well, I mean that's Florida for you.
[01:12:57] Well, it's true.
[01:12:58] By contrast, the over 18,000 direct employees of Disney represented by a United
[01:13:03] Here local 737 have much higher employment standards.
[01:13:07] 31% work part time.
[01:13:09] 69% are full time and are eligible for non-union or for excuse me for a union negotiated health insurance.
[01:13:15] 100% received paid sick time.
[01:13:17] You don't blah, blah, blah, blah.
[01:13:19] So it's just kind of a PDF that the union put out like, hey, not everybody here is co-shared.
[01:13:24] Let's try to get, you know, the subcontractors on and they have a bunch of quotes from people who work at like
[01:13:30] Marie and Inzo's this person says I would like to work full time.
[01:13:34] But my company is not offered it to me.
[01:13:35] How can you survive in Orlando when a part time job?
[01:13:39] Yeah.
[01:13:39] And that's interesting.
[01:13:41] Did we cover the Gideon's bakery?
[01:13:44] We asked go a few months ago.
[01:13:46] I think we did. That sounds familiar.
[01:13:48] But I don't remember.
[01:13:49] We talked about it, maybe.
[01:13:51] But that was a bunch of workers that, well,
[01:13:55] it was an anonymous source talking about how awful it was to work at Gideons and that a bunch of Gideons
[01:14:02] folks came up and said actually know we're better than a lot of the businesses here.
[01:14:06] Disney Springs don't believe this person because they were protests out in front of the one of the
[01:14:11] popular popular locations it didn't springs.
[01:14:13] Wow, but at least the other employees at Gideons came forward and said no, this is good.
[01:14:18] This is a small company we like working here.
[01:14:22] I don't know who this person is, but they didn't like working here.
[01:14:26] That's good I guess.
[01:14:27] All right, last but not least we're going to rip this one out and get out of here.
[01:14:31] Maybe you guys have heard about this, but there's a couple who sued Disney over them being
[01:14:37] kicked out of club 33 and they tried to get back.
[01:14:40] Really.
[01:14:41] And they couldn't and so now they're like supposedly telling all the secrets or whatever.
[01:14:46] And this is all stuff that everyone has, but this is from the Hollywood Reporter and that the title is
[01:14:51] It's a cult in Walt's The Messiah.
[01:14:54] Meet the couple who sued Disney over secret of club 33 Scott and Diana Anderson only
[01:15:00] want one thing to be let back into club 33.
[01:15:03] I bet you do.
[01:15:04] But club 33 definitely doesn't want them as members.
[01:15:07] Since 1967 the club has served Disneyland's highest rolling VIPs in the and in the no oasis
[01:15:14] over the part to the Caribbean ride.
[01:15:17] I don't really think that's where it is sort of kind of maybe but not really.
[01:15:22] The Anderson's both 60 first of all, rude.
[01:15:25] Have been together for 44 years.
[01:15:28] They waited 12 of those years to receive their club 33 invitation,
[01:15:31] showing out $50,000 for their first years do's alone.
[01:15:37] They got their money's worth.
[01:15:39] However, using the clubs upward of 80 days per year.
[01:15:44] And that's a ball in dude.
[01:15:48] I mean especially you know you're not like Eric you're going to go in for a hot lunch at 80 bucks
[01:15:53] a pop.
[01:15:53] These probably guys probably spend two hundred bucks each.
[01:15:56] Yeah, every time.
[01:15:59] By their fifth year of membership however the magic was fading.
[01:16:03] They say new managers had taken over.
[01:16:05] Their favorite chef was gone.
[01:16:07] Imagine having a favorite chef.
[01:16:10] A man like is Glenn on today.
[01:16:12] Yeah, no, we're going to pass.
[01:16:14] We're going to pass on the ceviche because only Glenn knows how to really squirt the
[01:16:18] lime in there good.
[01:16:19] Like I would love to be a financial point in my life where I had a favorite chef that's
[01:16:26] not the sushi bar owner that gets me drunk.
[01:16:29] Like you know, I had a restaurant that on top of your bill you have to pay $50,000 a year.
[01:16:36] Like it's insane.
[01:16:38] I mean God bless him.
[01:16:39] Whatever.
[01:16:40] What no, what they do for living though, geez.
[01:16:42] Their favorite chef was gone and they were repeatedly slapped with member violations.
[01:16:47] Do you want to know what that means?
[01:16:48] But the worst of them came on September 3rd, 2017 when Scott was discovered by Park Security
[01:16:54] killed over on a bench in California, Adventure near the 1901 loud.
[01:16:59] Oh, man.
[01:17:02] A park guard said he smelled alcohol on his breath.
[01:17:05] Scott says it was a vestibular migraine triggered by red wine.
[01:17:10] I mean that sounds like a pretty good answer.
[01:17:12] I don't know what's a vestibular migraine is maybe I get though.
[01:17:15] It's a very specific type of migraine.
[01:17:18] That's a specific excuse.
[01:17:20] And that almost sounds like it really is.
[01:17:22] But if you have that on the tip of your tongue, maybe you shouldn't be drinking red wine there,
[01:17:26] buddy.
[01:17:27] Right.
[01:17:27] A vestibular migraine is a nervous system problem that causes repeated
[01:17:31] disness or vertigo and people who have a history of migraine symptoms.
[01:17:34] Unlike traditional migraines, you may not always have a headache.
[01:17:38] It's also known as migraine associated vertigo.
[01:17:41] So look, if I'm rich and I have a drinking problem.
[01:17:45] And I go to a place that not everybody can get to that already sort of like strokes my elitist,
[01:17:51] you know, side of my personality.
[01:17:54] 100% I'm going to have the domestic excuse on the tip of my brain.
[01:17:59] Oh, yeah.
[01:17:59] You know what I mean?
[01:18:01] A symptomatic Tourette.
[01:18:02] That's right.
[01:18:02] Yeah.
[01:18:03] It's like from, by the way, if you're not watching English teacher on Hulu, you got to watch it.
[01:18:07] That was good.
[01:18:08] See, that's very specific answer.
[01:18:09] It's very funny.
[01:18:10] It's a very good show.
[01:18:13] I love it.
[01:18:13] And I don't like funny.
[01:18:16] No, it's because I always think I'm funny.
[01:18:17] I was shocked that he wanted to watch a comedy.
[01:18:20] Well, I was talking this with therapists today.
[01:18:21] I was like, I dislike comedies because I always, I think that could be funny or
[01:18:26] I'm funny or no one buys my, no one bought my script so I can't, you know, why does everybody else
[01:18:30] get nice things?
[01:18:32] But anyway, whatever.
[01:18:33] Anyway, a month after the incident,
[01:18:36] the Anderson's were informed.
[01:18:37] They had been expelled from club 33 forever.
[01:18:41] And I want to know what the other infractions was.
[01:18:43] And then the other infractions were the member violations for her.
[01:18:46] The US began their $400,000 legal odyssey to get reinstated and seek
[01:18:52] $231 in damages.
[01:18:55] $231.
[01:18:56] $231,000.
[01:18:58] Thank you.
[01:18:58] But the Anderson's lost after a jury of 12,
[01:19:01] Delivered 45 minutes.
[01:19:04] I went to Jerry.
[01:19:05] And the role in Disney's share.
[01:19:07] So here's the thing.
[01:19:08] You have so much money.
[01:19:11] That you live inside the California, a member of club 33.
[01:19:15] Go on average of 80 days a year and you spent $400,000.
[01:19:21] And you only see your seeking half of that because you needed a number, I guess.
[01:19:26] But like, you spent that much money to get back into the club to get the privilege
[01:19:31] to spend more money.
[01:19:33] And you had the balls to take this to Jerry.
[01:19:38] Imagine you're on the jury.
[01:19:40] And you're sitting there deliberately.
[01:19:42] Whether or not the rich people get to get back in the secret club that nobody can afford
[01:19:46] to go to or not.
[01:19:47] Meanwhile, you're making $15 a day.
[01:19:50] I know, right?
[01:19:51] Or like, you know, there's there's there's so many problems in Southern California
[01:19:56] that could be solved with this money.
[01:19:58] But here we are.
[01:19:59] Yeah.
[01:19:59] We're sitting here debating whether or not people can get drunk in a theme park or not.
[01:20:04] This is in.
[01:20:04] You have to have the people out of that jury.
[01:20:06] You're filling out the form that gets them like a tenth of their salary for the day.
[01:20:11] Yeah, right.
[01:20:12] Yeah.
[01:20:12] You're so mad on that jury.
[01:20:13] The Anderson's responded quote Scott Viemnly attests that he was not drunk, but sick
[01:20:19] and they feel quote, they were targeted after expressing concerns about sexual harassment
[01:20:25] by another club member.
[01:20:27] What is these people are 60?
[01:20:30] Who's sexually harassing you?
[01:20:31] I guess another club member.
[01:20:33] Oh, I thought they were sexually harassing people.
[01:20:35] I don't know.
[01:20:36] It doesn't say, oh, they were targeted.
[01:20:38] You're right.
[01:20:39] I think you're right.
[01:20:40] They were targeted by and feel they were targeted after expressing concerns about sexual harassment
[01:20:44] by another club member.
[01:20:46] So maybe you're right.
[01:20:47] I don't know.
[01:20:48] And so the Anderson's have no more Donald Duck to give.
[01:20:51] At least that appeared to be the case when they joined the Hollywood Reporter for a conversation
[01:20:54] about the secrets of club 33.
[01:20:57] The worst part with club 33 is conservatively.
[01:21:00] 80% of all members are selling access claims Diana of a practice at a sports
[01:21:05] club.
[01:21:07] They're selling all the merchandise online.
[01:21:09] They're making cottage industries off this place.
[01:21:12] I mean, that is happening.
[01:21:14] Yeah, that's happening.
[01:21:16] The one person that gave us access, we didn't pay them.
[01:21:19] They were for their friend.
[01:21:21] We didn't pay it.
[01:21:22] Didn't ask for anything.
[01:21:23] They paid our bill.
[01:21:23] Like we bought merch and I still have it.
[01:21:25] I don't know.
[01:21:26] We didn't do that, I guess.
[01:21:27] But this is mean that nobody is.
[01:21:28] There's definitely people that do it.
[01:21:30] I see it on TikTok.
[01:21:30] Yeah, well, I mean also like you have you have I mean selling the merchandise.
[01:21:35] Probably sure, but like selling access.
[01:21:38] I don't know.
[01:21:39] I mean, I guess that's kind of it.
[01:21:41] I don't know that it's a problem.
[01:21:42] It's easy for Disney to identify, right?
[01:21:44] You would think.
[01:21:45] Because I, yeah, anyway, let's move on.
[01:21:48] That's, that's, that's a little read the thing.
[01:21:50] I don't know.
[01:21:50] Explain Scott a lot of it is to pay their dues.
[01:21:53] The dues today are $32,000 a year, which is just insane.
[01:21:57] Are a lot.
[01:21:58] Yeah, it's a car every year about in brand new cars.
[01:22:01] You're frozen out there.
[01:22:02] Everyone.
[01:22:03] Right here.
[01:22:04] Are you okay?
[01:22:05] I never was frozen.
[01:22:07] I have a ventricular.
[01:22:09] Yeah, sure you do.
[01:22:11] Okay.
[01:22:12] So now here's the interview with the Hollywood Reporter.
[01:22:14] Hi Scott and Diana.
[01:22:16] What do you do in Arizona?
[01:22:18] Scott Anderson.
[01:22:19] We own a golf course in Gilbert, Arizona, which I live 500 yards away from.
[01:22:25] I drive a golf cart over there to work.
[01:22:27] I work all day every day.
[01:22:29] Okay, Scott, get over yourself first of all.
[01:22:31] The answer couldn't be, oh, we want to golf course.
[01:22:33] It had to be I drive a golf cart.
[01:22:35] I do it every day.
[01:22:36] Well, and you can't work all day every day if you went to Disneyland 80 times.
[01:22:40] Yeah, right.
[01:22:40] Where did the obsession with Disneyland come about?
[01:22:43] Diana.
[01:22:44] That's all on me.
[01:22:45] My dad was in the military.
[01:22:47] Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
[01:22:48] I don't care.
[01:22:49] Then I found out that right next to it is club 30th week at first of all.
[01:22:52] I'm now I need to back up because as I'm reading, I'm reading above what I missed.
[01:22:58] And um, and there was juicy deets when I was 16 at this time done this woman is every,
[01:23:02] when I was 16, every high school in Arizona went to Disneyland for graduation.
[01:23:07] That's when I first saw the light in the window of the fire station, which is Walt's eternal light.
[01:23:12] I'm like, what is that about?
[01:23:14] Turns out the light was in Walt Disney's personal apartment.
[01:23:17] Then I found out that right next to it, that is club 33.
[01:23:22] That's, and I'm like, I would like to get into this club.
[01:23:25] We had heard it cost $6,000.
[01:23:28] And this was more than 30 years ago.
[01:23:30] Then the invitation came and it was four times what we thought it would be.
[01:23:34] Yeah, but he me talking about right now.
[01:23:36] She drunk in the interview.
[01:23:37] Yeah, like, so much of this doesn't make sense because it's incorrect.
[01:23:43] It's back to you wrong.
[01:23:44] Right next to it is, is it not even for months?
[01:23:46] In the office.
[01:23:47] Yeah, I know right Scott says there was a $25,000 level of membership and a $40,000
[01:23:53] level of membership.
[01:23:55] Hollywood reported did it really take you 12 years to gain entry.
[01:23:58] Diana, yes, but we started saving up before then.
[01:24:00] We were thinking would be about $12,000.
[01:24:03] So what was the actual amount?
[01:24:05] Scott says it was 40,000 plus your first year dues, which was $10,000.
[01:24:10] That included access for her mother and our son.
[01:24:13] So then time, what tears of membership Scott says there was silver.
[01:24:16] There was gold.
[01:24:17] Then they created platinum and executive and they forced the silver to come up to gold.
[01:24:23] And then the gold had the option to go up the platinum if they paid the platinum dues.
[01:24:27] And what does that get you?
[01:24:29] Well, you get five VIP tours per person.
[01:24:33] The tour is basically a skip the line pass.
[01:24:36] And how many people can go on that tour?
[01:24:38] 10 people.
[01:24:40] Park fees are waived plus we got 100 park tickets for guests.
[01:24:45] But your park fees are always covered.
[01:24:47] Right club 33 is really a glorified annual path.
[01:24:50] I've privileged to think that.
[01:24:53] VIP tours is just a way to get to the front of the line.
[01:24:56] Like, we talked to our tour guide all day.
[01:24:59] But he had tell us more information.
[01:25:01] I would hate to be the tour guide that takes the, and this is what I have heard.
[01:25:05] I'm not going to say like directly, but there are a lot of.
[01:25:11] A lot of things being talked about behind the scenes about.
[01:25:14] Potentious club 33 members and I'm not going to believe it because you have to have a certain level of income to be to be there.
[01:25:21] But reading this interview, I 100% believe every single one of them now.
[01:25:26] I believe that they're just pretentious jerks who think that the world owes them something because they own a golf course.
[01:25:34] Yeah, yeah that's okay.
[01:25:37] Dana said, or Diana says, and a club 33 member you don't have to pay for the lightning lane or genie pass or all that other garbage.
[01:25:43] So yeah, I mean, you get everything.
[01:25:46] Of course, you, you should get everything at that level when you're paying 35,000 dollars a year.
[01:25:51] Absolutely, you get, and you know, you get a bunch of stuff with it.
[01:25:54] Yeah, no, you need to spend another five or some out photo pass.
[01:25:57] That's right. Yeah, that's the one thing that trips them up.
[01:26:00] Uh, what do you get in the actual club 33. Diana says liquor and food when we first joined.
[01:26:05] They had the dining room and the trophy.
[01:26:06] Like your first right for sure.
[01:26:09] Well, and apparently they've been there since the trophy rooms.
[01:26:11] There. There.
[01:26:12] A long time members Scott, when they opened up these new membership types, they opened up a second club called the nine 1901 lounge, which is on the California Adventure side.
[01:26:20] And it's right next to see here.
[01:26:22] It's right next to the car's restaurant.
[01:26:24] No, it's not.
[01:26:25] It's next to Carthes Circle.
[01:26:27] They're insane.
[01:26:29] They don't even care enough about for them.
[01:26:31] I think this was all just about being elite.
[01:26:35] And the lead is them and holding it over people.
[01:26:37] They don't, I don't feel like they really cared enough about like they don't.
[01:26:41] The club or what it meant or the park itself.
[01:26:44] They're just in a Manhattan Hayes walking around the place.
[01:26:47] They just want to be exclusive club.
[01:26:48] Or sure.
[01:26:49] Which I guess kind of makes sense because they own a golf course.
[01:26:52] They probably have a golf club of private club and they do the things.
[01:26:55] And they're like, well, we should do that too.
[01:26:56] It is not next to the cars restaurant and maybe they'd be looking.
[01:26:59] Giving them grace.
[01:27:00] Maybe they're misquoted.
[01:27:01] He says it holds maybe 45 people total inside.
[01:27:05] That's more than that.
[01:27:06] But that's right.
[01:27:06] When it's 95 degrees outside, it's lovely to go in there.
[01:27:09] They have light bites and cocktails, wine and beer.
[01:27:12] And then the manager would wander around to do table touching as any manager should.
[01:27:16] You know what I'm going to go.
[01:27:18] How is everything?
[01:27:19] Is everything fine?
[01:27:20] You guys doing good?
[01:27:21] Okay, great thing.
[01:27:23] Diana says, but you did get other privileges.
[01:27:25] We used to get to ride the Lily Bell, which was Walt's personal car on the Disneyland Railroad train.
[01:27:31] Eventually they started selling that for $85 a piece.
[01:27:34] Isn't the food in the clubs supposed to be really good?
[01:27:38] It was when Marcel was there.
[01:27:40] Oh, my God.
[01:27:41] Marcel.
[01:27:42] First name basis.
[01:27:44] Scott, when we first joined the original chef, Marcel St. Pierre would make a world of different things for you.
[01:27:50] You could have a full rack of prime rib for a party of eight and he'd bring it out and hand slice it.
[01:27:56] Diana, waffles at four o'clock in the afternoon?
[01:27:58] No problem.
[01:28:00] Scott, it was amazing experience, but they wanted to redo the restaurant and increase the size of the kitchen.
[01:28:05] So they took out the trophy room and added a bar lounge called Salon, Newvo.
[01:28:10] Can you imagine being that person to be like,
[01:28:13] I really, well, Marcel, I really want waffles.
[01:28:17] Could you please be a doll and whip me up some?
[01:28:20] And Marcel's going back and beating his head against putting his, he opens the walk in and puts his head in between it slams the door on it.
[01:28:27] Like, you know that the servers were talking to the hosts and be like, no, not my section.
[01:28:34] No, not today.
[01:28:35] Oh, you could die at a Scott.
[01:28:37] Oh, I will give you a hundred dollars.
[01:28:42] I will give you half of my tips today to put them in a different section.
[01:28:45] Yeah, do they have a no photos policy in there? Diana.
[01:28:50] They have a no photo policy in the bathrooms, but that's just California law.
[01:28:54] What are you talking about?
[01:28:55] Yeah, also I took lots of pictures.
[01:28:57] I took tons of pictures.
[01:28:58] You want to know why?
[01:28:59] Because there's nobody else in there.
[01:29:01] And it's awesome.
[01:29:02] And it's beautiful.
[01:29:04] Don't take pictures of people in the bathroom.
[01:29:06] That's probably what's against the law.
[01:29:08] Literally, I would think our server was like, yeah, you can take pictures.
[01:29:11] What a weird, what a weird strange.
[01:29:13] What a weird thing to say is do they have a no photos, Paul.
[01:29:17] Clearly he's talking about in the club, but she goes well in the bathrooms.
[01:29:22] That implies that some of the things against them are photo violation.
[01:29:26] So, oh, that's right.
[01:29:28] I wasn't planning on.
[01:29:29] I wonder if that's how she knows that.
[01:29:31] And maybe that's part of the sexual assault or the.
[01:29:33] Wow, no, Terrence Fred and rumors.
[01:29:36] Scott says you can take photos in the lounge and the grants along.
[01:29:39] But you can't do any videoing.
[01:29:41] Whatever.
[01:29:42] I think they can't do any videoing.
[01:29:45] Diana says, and you can't take pictures of other people who aren't in your group because people are always trying to take pictures of celebrities.
[01:29:51] It's just very rude.
[01:29:52] Members do it all the time.
[01:29:55] You know, not us, but other members do.
[01:29:57] They, she's it's a constant throwing people under the bus.
[01:30:00] And there's no black out days or anything.
[01:30:03] Diana, correct.
[01:30:03] Unless they close the club down because they have Tom Hanks coming in for Thanksgiving.
[01:30:06] Then you have to get out by 330.
[01:30:08] Wow.
[01:30:09] This lady.
[01:30:10] It did that happen. Scott absolutely our friends from San Jose were so pissed off because they called far in advance to get a good reservation for dinner for Thanksgiving.
[01:30:19] The club said, unfortunately the latest reservation we can't have is 130 p.m.
[01:30:24] On their way out, income's Tom Hanks and his wife and family.
[01:30:27] So they had their own private dining experience because they made a reservation before you.
[01:30:32] Well, also because, well, I think it's I think they just bought the club out.
[01:30:36] You could probably do that because you're rich.
[01:30:38] Right, and they made a reservation early.
[01:30:41] And I feel like well, it sounds like their friend made a reservation first and then Tom Hanks like pushed them out.
[01:30:47] Well, they made a reservation for 130.
[01:30:49] They just wanted to lay it so like it's true.
[01:30:50] You just didn't do it early enough.
[01:30:52] Like get over yourself.
[01:30:54] Yeah.
[01:30:55] Well, it's also like Tom Hanks is richer than you.
[01:30:57] Yeah.
[01:30:58] They don't like that.
[01:30:58] Also he's woody.
[01:31:01] Diana says rebel Wilson got suspended for 30 days for taking a picture in the bathroom.
[01:31:06] I don't believe that because we like literally all post of friggin picture.
[01:31:11] I took in the bathroom tomorrow.
[01:31:12] Like it's it's literally not that big of a deal.
[01:31:14] I have several and then six months later, she took a video of her dancing with
[01:31:18] Minnie Mouse and the grandson on and then she was on TV announcing she'd been suspended.
[01:31:23] I mean, whatever.
[01:31:24] I don't feel like that's the real reason why Scott.
[01:31:28] I was told by a friend who knows someone who has access that after the rebel Wilson thing.
[01:31:35] And then the club clamped down for a while.
[01:31:38] I could see that a few months they were saying, well, just just take it easy on pictures.
[01:31:43] Especially for people who are guests.
[01:31:45] Yeah.
[01:31:46] The members were told just keep an eye on your guests because rebel is not a member.
[01:31:51] It was a she was a guest there and it's like she's just cool.
[01:31:56] Since she's a member and she got suspended.
[01:31:58] I don't know.
[01:31:58] She's a member.
[01:31:59] Scott said a bigger scandal was actually Katy Perry offering access to the lounge for charity
[01:32:04] for 160 grand.
[01:32:06] She wouldn't do that.
[01:32:07] But it's just, I mean, it's charity.
[01:32:08] Yeah, but you're not allowed to do that.
[01:32:09] Apparently not.
[01:32:11] Diana says you're not allowed to keep your tickets to charity anymore.
[01:32:14] How are people profiting off their memberships?
[01:32:15] Diana they're selling their 100 part tickets.
[01:32:18] They're selling access.
[01:32:20] They're getting about $125 for lunch in the club.
[01:32:22] Scott, then there's the exclusive club 33 merch.
[01:32:25] There are fanatics out there that obviously aren't members.
[01:32:29] Members walk out with 10 bags in their hands.
[01:32:31] The latest release of merchandise.
[01:32:32] They put it all up for sale.
[01:32:35] Diana, one of them even has an online store.
[01:32:37] I don't believe you because if you had an online store, Disney would know about or then
[01:32:42] you just tell the parks, hey look this person.
[01:32:44] This member has it online store where they just sell the merch.
[01:32:47] Get him in trouble.
[01:32:49] You're just whining about him.
[01:32:50] There's also special events and people sell access to those events.
[01:32:53] We got club 33 gardening vests.
[01:32:55] Clipping shears that had the club 33 logo on another couch.
[01:33:00] So cool.
[01:33:00] What?
[01:33:02] The most boomer sentence in the entire article is the fact that these people are whining
[01:33:09] that someone sold their club 33 branded vests and gardening shears.
[01:33:14] Scott, we did dinner inside the haunted mansion.
[01:33:17] 25 people around the dining room table.
[01:33:19] I think that was an additional $2,500 for the two of us.
[01:33:23] Geez.
[01:33:24] Did it give you access to secret stuff like Walt's apartment?
[01:33:27] Let's go.
[01:33:28] We got to see it when it was still all the original furniture in there.
[01:33:32] They have since yanked it all out and placed it with a replica stuff.
[01:33:35] I liked it when it was cool.
[01:33:37] I saw it when it was original.
[01:33:39] Yeah, shut the front door Diana.
[01:33:42] We used to go as members.
[01:33:43] We could have all the time in the world we wanted in there.
[01:33:47] Now that make you pay and it's all roped off.
[01:33:49] But you used to be able to go inside and walk through.
[01:33:51] I mean, we were using the bathroom and Walt's apartment because we were in there for so long.
[01:33:55] They were like, go ahead.
[01:33:56] Use the bathroom.
[01:33:57] It's fine.
[01:33:58] I don't believe that.
[01:34:00] I just don't believe them.
[01:34:02] Yeah.
[01:34:02] It's truly, Scott.
[01:34:03] It's truly very cultish.
[01:34:05] Every time they build a new ride and it wasn't up to snuff, members are like, what would Walt do?
[01:34:10] Diana, it is a cult and Walt is the Messiah.
[01:34:13] Is it true the 33 in club 33 is a free mason's reference?
[01:34:16] Gosh.
[01:34:17] You're the Hollywood Reporter.
[01:34:18] You should know that that's been dimmed up bunk forever.
[01:34:21] Scott goes, Walt was a free mason.
[01:34:23] And that's the highest level 33.
[01:34:26] Well, yeah, but it's Scottish free masonry which is different than what we think of.
[01:34:30] Diana, that's all speculation.
[01:34:32] You can't find any written evidence that that's where 33 came from.
[01:34:35] They say it's because it would have been the address in the street where the door original door was.
[01:34:39] But the door is moved.
[01:34:40] So that explanation never made any sense.
[01:34:41] What are you talking about?
[01:34:43] It's the 33 is not club 37.
[01:34:45] Yeah, you literally just said the original door.
[01:34:48] So why would they change the whole mistake around club 33 because they moved the front door?
[01:34:53] Yeah, bag of dirt.
[01:34:55] What are you talking about?
[01:34:57] Yeah.
[01:34:57] How long were you members before you were terminated?
[01:35:00] Five years Scott says four really good years and then the last year when a new manager came in is when everything went south.
[01:35:07] After my incident they took their full 30 days.
[01:35:10] I sent them my medical records.
[01:35:11] I emailed them multiple times.
[01:35:13] I bet you did Scott.
[01:35:14] I bet you did brother.
[01:35:16] We didn't know we were going to be terminated.
[01:35:18] It was so out of nowhere.
[01:35:19] We get a letter in the mail that says terminated.
[01:35:22] Diana first the manager says if you don't write an apology letter, I'll terminate you.
[01:35:27] Scott it was like, but if you write an apology letter, I will be forgiven and you wrote one.
[01:35:32] They said Scott, I did.
[01:35:34] What did the check that night saying terms of how much you drank Scott?
[01:35:37] We were there for a fantasy football draft.
[01:35:39] Imagine.
[01:35:40] Imagine going to club 1901 for your fantasy football draft.
[01:35:45] The amount of a lead is insane.
[01:35:49] And so there's 15 20 people on the tab.
[01:35:52] It was two bottles of wine.
[01:35:53] There were two beers.
[01:35:54] So I had two of the beers and I had a glass of wine between 12 and 330 pm.
[01:35:59] It was 930 pm that I was found in the park bench.
[01:36:02] I was sitting on a bench and security were like, hey, can you stand up?
[01:36:06] Couldn't really stand up.
[01:36:07] I stood up.
[01:36:10] So, hey, can you stand up?
[01:36:12] No, I can't, but I do it anyway.
[01:36:14] And then I kind of sat back down on the bench right away because severe vertigo is part
[01:36:18] of vestibular migraines.
[01:36:19] All I had in my pocket was my club 33 card.
[01:36:22] So they called the club and reported me based on that.
[01:36:25] That's all he had in his wallet.
[01:36:27] Where was Diana during all this?
[01:36:28] But I'll see you need when you're rich.
[01:36:30] Sure.
[01:36:30] Don't carry money.
[01:36:31] Diana, I was closing our check inside 1901.
[01:36:34] Security did not call me.
[01:36:35] And I am listed as in case of a virgin scene is phone.
[01:36:39] Did they know that?
[01:36:41] What are you talking about?
[01:36:42] They just called the last number that that had called Scott.
[01:36:45] Luckily, it was one of our best friends.
[01:36:47] Imagine if it had been a business associate.
[01:36:50] My husband does so much work on his phone at 9.30 at night.
[01:36:54] Imagine if it was one of the top important people.
[01:36:57] She is.
[01:36:58] Okay, here we go.
[01:36:59] So this is what happened a couple of times in the year before.
[01:37:03] Diana had been briefly suspended for using some salty language.
[01:37:07] A couple of efforts.
[01:37:08] Diana, I don't know.
[01:37:09] I hope this is really interesting.
[01:37:10] I haven't checked the chat.
[01:37:11] I'm just reading this interview with these friggin weirdos.
[01:37:15] I'm fascinated still.
[01:37:16] Diana, my friend knocked over her drink with her sleeve.
[01:37:19] Neither sleeve.
[01:37:20] How long is her sleeve?
[01:37:21] Is she a wizard?
[01:37:23] You mean her arm?
[01:37:25] And the waiter came up and she's like,
[01:37:26] may I get another Mimosa?
[01:37:28] He is like, I can give you water or I can give you tea.
[01:37:32] After five minutes, I go, wait a minute.
[01:37:34] Did he just cut us off?
[01:37:35] And I went to talk to the manager who would not look at me.
[01:37:38] Finally, I leaned on doom.
[01:37:39] And I said, what the f- is going on?
[01:37:43] And he goes, that's it.
[01:37:45] But just yeah, of course.
[01:37:47] Yeah, I can see this whole situation.
[01:37:49] And absolutely.
[01:37:49] Yes, you're getting cut off.
[01:37:51] Yes, because like look, it doesn't matter.
[01:37:54] With your friend's sleeve was drinking or your friend was drinking.
[01:37:57] You knocked over a drink.
[01:37:58] Clearly the waiter made a call.
[01:38:00] You do not lean into the manager and curse at them.
[01:38:03] You do not do that, bro.
[01:38:04] You hadn't been drinking Diana.
[01:38:06] I had two glasses of wine.
[01:38:08] Everybody there knows, I pour water in my wine.
[01:38:12] I'm not really drinking two glasses of wine.
[01:38:15] Everybody knows that.
[01:38:16] Believe me, believe me.
[01:38:18] I drink the best wine, but I put water in there.
[01:38:21] Everybody knows, I had two glasses of wine.
[01:38:23] I'm not really drinking two glasses of wine.
[01:38:25] Everybody there knows, everybody knows that.
[01:38:28] Believe me, when we were talking, we know we sound crazy.
[01:38:31] My friend's talk about it.
[01:38:32] We're like, I know we all sound insane.
[01:38:34] You spent a great deal of money.
[01:38:35] No, that had to say.
[01:38:36] It's drunk.
[01:38:37] Yeah, exactly.
[01:38:38] I drink two glasses of wine, but everybody knows I pour water in it.
[01:38:41] What is your problem?
[01:38:42] Bro, what is your deal?
[01:38:44] It still took place.
[01:38:45] It still took place.
[01:38:46] It's still, it doesn't matter if you dilute.
[01:38:47] If you take 15% alcohol in a, if you pour a glass of wine, a serving of wine,
[01:38:55] and then you double that serving with water,
[01:38:58] it's still the same amount of alcohol in the glass.
[01:39:02] It's just cut with water.
[01:39:04] It's not what he's doing.
[01:39:06] It's just, say, you spent a great deal of money to be a member there,
[01:39:09] and I assume you get no refund.
[01:39:11] So is that it?
[01:39:12] Are you really miss being part of the club?
[01:39:14] Scott, it was two things.
[01:39:15] One is my integrity was impunged, impuned, impuned, impuned.
[01:39:19] Thank you.
[01:39:19] Because now I'm the drunk in the park.
[01:39:22] And it's all the friendships that we have there.
[01:39:24] We're all going to club 33 and we're like,
[01:39:26] we'll go do something else for a while.
[01:39:28] They feel guilty.
[01:39:29] We wouldn't feel guilty if the shoe was on the other foot.
[01:39:31] So they're not banned from the parks.
[01:39:33] They've been back to the park twice.
[01:39:36] Hollywood Reporter, have you been back to the park?
[01:39:38] Scott, we have.
[01:39:40] Twice is all I can recall.
[01:39:41] You're not on trial homie.
[01:39:43] If you don't know how many times you've been back to the park,
[01:39:45] since then, and then Diana goes, we've gone three times.
[01:39:53] We've got three times.
[01:39:55] We paid for the lightning path.
[01:39:56] They didn't tell us how to use it.
[01:39:58] So we went on one ride and then everything was sold out for the day.
[01:40:01] I'm like, are you kidding me?
[01:40:03] And while we were there in line Disneyland sold out.
[01:40:06] So we couldn't go to both parks.
[01:40:08] It wasn't any fun.
[01:40:10] Yeah, once your elitist privilege is get stripped and then you're just like every other
[01:40:14] shrub.
[01:40:15] You have to learn how to do stuff for yourself.
[01:40:18] You can't yell at anyone cursing anyone.
[01:40:21] They get them to tell you how to do stuff.
[01:40:22] Yeah, this life sucks, doesn't it?
[01:40:25] Yeah.
[01:40:25] This is very much a Karen and Chad.
[01:40:30] Dude, what?
[01:40:31] So apparently, okay, it's actually over right now.
[01:40:36] But the Hollywood Reporter says your club 33 troubles began in 2017.
[01:40:40] Well, I did to take seven years to go to trial.
[01:40:42] Scott, Disney got a summary judgment saying basically we're throwing this out.
[01:40:46] So we went to a peels court.
[01:40:47] A pellet court said you can't do that.
[01:40:49] So we got handed back down to lower court.
[01:40:51] Then COVID happened and then the courts got shut down.
[01:40:54] Diana, we actually subpoenaed Rebel Wilson.
[01:40:57] Oh my god.
[01:40:58] The reporters as but she didn't take a stand.
[01:41:00] Scott, no, she probably should have.
[01:41:04] Does she know how much we spent to do this?
[01:41:08] Wow.
[01:41:09] Does the millionaire actress know how much we spent at our golf club this year?
[01:41:14] She probably should have.
[01:41:15] Like, what this tells me the most, just this whole article is like,
[01:41:19] this is why Walt didn't want alcohol at Disneyland.
[01:41:25] I do.
[01:41:26] And also, this is why it's so expensive.
[01:41:29] I know, bro.
[01:41:31] Good call back.
[01:41:32] Yeah, like, these are the reasons.
[01:41:35] This couple is the reason for both of those things.
[01:41:39] Yes, yes, I don't understand.
[01:41:44] Because people cannot handle themselves.
[01:41:46] Yeah, you know what?
[01:41:47] And it turns out.
[01:41:48] I, it's very much like a, I guess an allegory for our times where if there's any problems in the
[01:41:55] parks, it's always going to be pinned on, you know, I guess for lack of a better term, the
[01:42:00] lower class of people working, blue collar people, right?
[01:42:03] Oh, someone had too many Sierra Nevada torpedoes or whatever.
[01:42:08] But in nine times out of ten, I bet it's people like this who like, you know, but they can
[01:42:12] get out of it, right?
[01:42:13] They can talk their way out of it or because they have enough money or their entire
[01:42:16] little enough Disney's going to just be like, oh, okay.
[01:42:18] Well, whatever.
[01:42:19] That's fine.
[01:42:20] You know, drag them back to, but 19 a lot and yeah, something like that.
[01:42:24] I'm actually surprised that this man got suspended.
[01:42:27] Honestly, because it seems like just the thing that people like him get away with.
[01:42:31] But they were that bad.
[01:42:33] But they were that bad.
[01:42:34] And I wonder, even if this was true that he has the migraine, the Vistima migraine,
[01:42:39] where I would be willing to bet that that company is looking for any reason to get them out.
[01:42:44] Oh, yeah.
[01:42:45] Because they seem like just annoying, pestering freaks.
[01:42:49] Yes.
[01:42:50] They seem like problem guests and they like, well, they're not breaking contracts or whatever.
[01:42:54] We got to get him out and this is how they get them out.
[01:42:58] I just, my favorite part is that that's the only thing that was in his wallet.
[01:43:01] You just said, you know, you're the only thing on him was as club member three things.
[01:43:05] So like, you don't need it.
[01:43:07] You've clubed 33, you think?
[01:43:09] You know what I mean?
[01:43:09] You're 60 years old.
[01:43:10] What are you going to do?
[01:43:11] Marcello knows me.
[01:43:13] Yeah.
[01:43:13] Go find myself.
[01:43:15] Marcello, myself.
[01:43:17] I need some waffles.
[01:43:19] Marcello, waffle me.
[01:43:21] You know, I got to say when you said Serenovato torpedo,
[01:43:25] I like it was like an instant, like I could taste it.
[01:43:28] Did they still make that?
[01:43:30] That was such a good beer.
[01:43:32] Yes, honey.
[01:43:33] Speaking of people who drink a lot.
[01:43:37] Well, the only reason I mentioned that specific beers because for a while,
[01:43:39] that's all you can get in like DCA and like all the DC Austin stuff was like,
[01:43:42] Serenovato torpedoes everywhere.
[01:43:44] Yeah.
[01:43:45] Maybe that's why I remember it like maybe.
[01:43:47] That was a good beer.
[01:43:48] I would have had it like probably 10 years.
[01:43:50] I'll take your word for it.
[01:43:51] Anyway, thank you very much everybody and I apologize if that was boring, but I loved it.
[01:43:56] I don't know much fun.
[01:43:57] I love reading interviews with people who don't realize what world they live in.
[01:44:02] Because that world is not anybody.
[01:44:04] They are not getting any sort of sympathy from most people who read this.
[01:44:08] They are going to be the villain, no matter what.
[01:44:11] Because most people do not live that fantasy life of like,
[01:44:16] Oh.
[01:44:16] A leadism to be able to afford half of that level of comfort that these people have.
[01:44:24] And they're blowing it on spite and it's so insane.
[01:44:27] And honestly, their lawyer if they had one, which I assume that they did was terrible
[01:44:32] to allow them to take this to jury.
[01:44:35] There is no jury on earth that's going to be sympathetic to these two.
[01:44:39] No way, dude. No way.
[01:44:42] It's just counting the cash.
[01:44:43] Yeah.
[01:44:44] Anyway. That's true.
[01:44:45] Thanks a lot everybody. I appreciate it.
[01:44:47] Don't forget, uh, check out our brand new show The Boynevista Boys.
[01:44:51] We're going to be doing that live on Twitch here on Saturday.
[01:44:54] But there's a whole mess episode you can go check out.
[01:44:56] There anywhere and everywhere a podcast can be found.
[01:44:59] It's a good show if you like talking about old school Disney movies that you may not have seen.
[01:45:04] We do a great job running through the plot and talking a bunch of fun facts about them as well.
[01:45:12] So check it out. Boynevista Boys everywhere out now.
[01:45:15] Out of them available now.
[01:45:17] Anyway, until next time everyone, we'll see you in the parks.
