EarzUp! | Dear Santa Iger ...

It's time once more, to sit on the lap of the one man who can give us everything on our collective lists ... Mr. Bob "Santa" Iger! This year, we brought along Ryan from Puny Pod, and Rob from Bantha Milk, because what is a Christmas wishlist if you can't let your friends get their beaks wet? After the break, we cover some Disney News, and split out for the holidays.

[00:00:02] It's time for the show that brings the magic right to your speakers. EarzUp!

[00:00:12] Hey, what's up everybody? That was my millennial Gen Z-er. Hello brother! What's up brother?

[00:00:22] Yeah, my Twitch streaming is leaking through. What's going on everybody? It's EarzUp Podcast. We are back.

[00:00:28] I know I told you on the last show that that last show was our last show for the year.

[00:00:34] But then I got into an argument with Eric and he's like, I've done work already for Santa Iger.

[00:00:41] I demanded it.

[00:00:41] Yeah, and I'm like, oh crap, that's right. We usually do this.

[00:00:46] And I'm like, do you want to do it? He goes, yeah, I want to do it. I've done it already. I've done the work.

[00:00:52] Don't make me not do work. And I'm like, okay. So I flew to Colorado, patted him on the head for doing the work.

[00:01:00] And then I made a doll of him and sacrificed it in the fire because now I had to do work.

[00:01:06] Oh, so that's what happened afterward. Okay.

[00:01:09] That's why your back hurts again. Yeah. No, I'm glad you did. All kidding aside, I had totally forgotten about Santa Iger.

[00:01:17] 100% forgotten about it that we usually do this. And to the point where Taryn goes like, oh yeah, I thought we, I thought you didn't want to do it.

[00:01:24] I'm like, you knew that this is a thing that we do. And we were actually talking about a dinner tonight.

[00:01:28] I go, once I'm done with a show, that is it. Like when I'm, when I'm going, all right, we're going to leave.

[00:01:34] I'm thinking about, okay, I'm done with this show. So before I even stop recording,

[00:01:39] I am not thinking about anything other than getting out of the show in a non clumsy way.

[00:01:45] And, and it works for, uh, for like these, you know, Santa Iger stuff or whatever, where I'll forget the show.

[00:01:52] It's done. I don't need to think about it anymore. Why am I, why am I worried about it?

[00:01:56] I don't know what histories we've done. I don't know anything we've done because it just, it doesn't live in my head.

[00:02:02] So I apologize, dear listener. I almost robbed you of this very important time in our, in our lives for the Santa,

[00:02:11] the annual ears up Santa Iger, uh, letter. And I'm excited about it. So Eric, cheers to you, friend.

[00:02:20] You, you were the one who pulled this from the fire and salvaged it. So this is going to be your fault if it sucks.

[00:02:28] Oh, good. I appreciate that.

[00:02:31] Yeah. Uh, but as a result, so I guess housekeeping first, we're probably going to, I, I want to take the whole month of January off.

[00:02:42] If that, if that's okay with everybody, I'm in.

[00:02:48] It's all right. I just, I need, I need, I need a break. I need, I have, I was thinking about it today.

[00:02:54] I have not the longest vacation I've ever had in my life was for seven days when we went to Hawaii in 2015.

[00:03:02] That's it. I'm just like, I'm tired. Just, I want to not have to edit. I want to, anyway, whatever.

[00:03:09] So, uh, I think January we'll probably go, we'll probably get together at some point, uh, maybe in between Christmas and new year.

[00:03:16] Cause we still owe everybody on Patreon a secret show for December.

[00:03:20] But then after that, you might not see us for a couple of weeks and we're, we're, we're going to, um, you know, not do any shows,

[00:03:27] but we are going to have our annual meeting to plan shows for 2025.

[00:03:31] So if you have any ideas for the shows, if you want to give us some ideas, join the discord and you can throw them in there or email me Jason at ears hyphen ears up hyphen podcast.com.

[00:03:42] Or, you know, whatever, but yeah, DM me and so in, in discord or whatever.

[00:03:46] And, uh, and, uh, you know, give us your ideas.

[00:03:48] What do you want to hear about it?

[00:03:49] What I'd like to do when I think we need to do is start pivoting more towards a Disney world history.

[00:03:55] So if there's any, anything specific about Disney world that you want to hear about or know about, or what thing might be fun to talk about, um, you know, let us know.

[00:04:02] That's not off the table anymore.

[00:04:04] I think we've, we've basically done Disney world, you know, feel like we've done it.

[00:04:08] Land.

[00:04:09] Or Disneyland, excuse me.

[00:04:09] The other one.

[00:04:10] Yeah.

[00:04:11] Yeah.

[00:04:11] Which one's the California one?

[00:04:12] The good one.

[00:04:13] Yeah.

[00:04:13] That one.

[00:04:14] The one with LA in its name.

[00:04:17] Oh yeah.

[00:04:17] Oh, that's right.

[00:04:19] Yeah.

[00:04:19] You know, I saw that.

[00:04:21] So they say like Disneyland LA, but it's not in LA.

[00:04:23] It's orange County.

[00:04:24] It's not even Los Angeles County.

[00:04:26] It's also on the East coast.

[00:04:28] Everything in California is LA.

[00:04:30] So.

[00:04:32] Well, that's fair.

[00:04:33] Well then for you on the East coast, it's, you know, they go, Oh, world ORL Orlando, but

[00:04:38] it's not in Orlando.

[00:04:39] So, you know, whatever it just, it's, you know, fine.

[00:04:45] It's fine enough.

[00:04:46] You know, that's why they say like Disneyland Paris.

[00:04:48] It's not in Paris.

[00:04:50] It's 45 minutes away from Paris.

[00:04:51] You see the other meme that says next year, Christmas is on 25, 25, 25.

[00:04:56] And everybody's like, wait, what?

[00:04:58] That doesn't make any, it's going to be 12, 25.

[00:05:01] They're like, so yeah.

[00:05:02] So I don't know if you know this Jason, but the internet is not very accurate.

[00:05:08] Sometimes.

[00:05:09] You know what?

[00:05:09] I would watch your mouth.

[00:05:11] Elon Musk might vote.

[00:05:13] He might try to pass a bill against you.

[00:05:16] He could do that or send me into space and not come get me afterwards.

[00:05:20] First of all, you can't do anything yet.

[00:05:22] Taryn has a pint glass of wine and a wine glass of water.

[00:05:26] And I don't know if I care or not.

[00:05:28] Innovative.

[00:05:29] She's coming.

[00:05:30] Yeah, that's right.

[00:05:31] She's working on it, man.

[00:05:32] You know what's innovative?

[00:05:33] Speaking of that, it's concierge.

[00:05:35] Concierge.

[00:05:36] If you're going to the parks at all, anytime in the next year or whenever, hit up Concierge.

[00:05:43] Have them buy the tickets for you.

[00:05:45] They're not going to pay for you, of course, but they're going to purchase the tickets for

[00:05:48] you.

[00:05:49] Let them book hotel rooms for you because there's a whole bunch of services that come

[00:05:52] with this and they are all free.

[00:05:55] There is no extra charge above and beyond what the parks are going to charge you.

[00:05:59] Anyway, you're already giving your money to Disney.

[00:06:01] You might as well support a small family run business and get superb customer service

[00:06:07] and experiences that you can't get anywhere else.

[00:06:10] Like if there's a discount on hotel rooms, they'll rebook your hotel rooms and refund you

[00:06:14] the difference.

[00:06:15] If you're in the parks and you go, dude, I need to get a resi somewhere.

[00:06:20] Text them.

[00:06:21] Text your concierge.

[00:06:22] They'll do it for you.

[00:06:23] If you have any questions on how to do stuff, you don't have to wait in the, you know,

[00:06:26] on the phone line and did the phone tree and you know, all that kind of stuff.

[00:06:30] You just ask concierge.

[00:06:31] They'll tell you they are park experts and they know what's going on.

[00:06:34] So check them out.

[00:06:36] Concierge.com.

[00:06:38] What's up, Taryn?

[00:06:39] Oh, it's an earthquake on Taryn's side of the house.

[00:06:46] No.

[00:06:46] It was my fault, but it wasn't really.

[00:06:48] Oh, here, let me.

[00:06:49] Yeah, it is your fault that it wasn't.

[00:06:51] Right.

[00:06:51] How did you know?

[00:06:52] It's hard to be a TikTok star and want to talk, okay?

[00:06:56] So give me a break.

[00:06:58] Tripod, more like try hard.

[00:07:01] Yeah, that's me on my TikTok.

[00:07:04] Not really.

[00:07:05] I've given up.

[00:07:06] Like, it's just like, you know what?

[00:07:07] Like, I don't care anymore.

[00:07:08] I'm just going to do dumb things.

[00:07:10] And I do.

[00:07:11] And I get five views.

[00:07:13] And that's okay.

[00:07:14] Meanwhile, Taryn's getting contacted by ABC.

[00:07:18] I did.

[00:07:19] Oh, wow.

[00:07:20] ABC News.

[00:07:20] ABC News to use her stupid TikTok about cranberries.

[00:07:24] This is.

[00:07:25] You know what?

[00:07:26] This is.

[00:07:26] I complain all the time about this, like the Disney news stuff, but it's just, it's just

[00:07:30] news now.

[00:07:32] In general, it's stupid.

[00:07:34] Because why is AB?

[00:07:35] There's nothing else in the world that we need to be reporting on than some idiot doing

[00:07:42] a video about cranberries.

[00:07:44] Do they normally do like TikTok stuff on your news?

[00:07:49] I don't know.

[00:07:51] You're busy watching TikTok and making TikTok and TikTok.

[00:07:54] Basically.

[00:07:56] Yeah.

[00:07:57] That's the way, that's the way to do it, man.

[00:07:59] Well, you better get, get in now before it gets canceled.

[00:08:02] Taryn's a little low on the Twitch stream.

[00:08:04] Okay.

[00:08:04] Well, let's see.

[00:08:05] I haven't.

[00:08:05] Thank you, Lisa.

[00:08:06] Taryn, say, say a thing.

[00:08:08] Check.

[00:08:08] Hello.

[00:08:09] I am here.

[00:08:10] Finally.

[00:08:11] You were a little low.

[00:08:12] Glad to see everyone.

[00:08:14] There you go.

[00:08:14] I didn't know until a couple minutes ago that everyone was going to be here.

[00:08:17] This is exciting.

[00:08:18] Hi.

[00:08:20] Hey.

[00:08:22] Yeah.

[00:08:22] So this is our last show, our official last show for, are your speakers on on the computer?

[00:08:27] I feel like I can hear myself in your microphone.

[00:08:30] We got to figure our shit out.

[00:08:32] Maybe we'll take January to do that because I'm so annoyed by myself.

[00:08:35] I don't think so.

[00:08:37] All right.

[00:08:37] Perfect.

[00:08:38] That's great.

[00:08:39] But I'll double check.

[00:08:40] That's all right, man.

[00:08:40] You're good.

[00:08:42] Okay.

[00:08:43] So here's what we're doing.

[00:08:43] We're doing Santa Iger.

[00:08:45] So we each have a story, a letter to read to Santa Iger.

[00:08:50] And then we'll take a break.

[00:08:51] We'll say goodbye to Rob.

[00:08:52] And then I have to readjust the OBS things, which is fine, you know, whatever.

[00:08:59] And then we have a bunch of Disney news because there has been a lot of stuff happening.

[00:09:03] Not all of it's good just to prepare you right now.

[00:09:06] However, it's fun and it's fun to see me.

[00:09:09] It's fun to talk about.

[00:09:10] And that's all.

[00:09:11] That's what we're about here on the show.

[00:09:12] We're about fun and we're about talking about fun, but we're not about having fun.

[00:09:16] No, I would never have fun.

[00:09:17] No.

[00:09:17] I hate fun.

[00:09:18] So it's not fun to talk about fun?

[00:09:20] No, fun is not fun.

[00:09:22] Okay.

[00:09:22] No, it's clever to talk about fun, but it's not fun to be clever.

[00:09:27] I don't know.

[00:09:28] I'll check my notes on that.

[00:09:29] Huh.

[00:09:31] So that's what we do.

[00:09:32] And in case you're new here, every year we do, we write a letter to Santa Iger or used

[00:09:37] to be Santa Chapek, which I think is when we started.

[00:09:39] I forget.

[00:09:40] No, we started with Iger.

[00:09:42] We did.

[00:09:42] Oh, yeah.

[00:09:43] I mean, we've been doing this.

[00:09:45] I mean, I would say this is probably like our seventh, eighth year.

[00:09:49] Like we've been doing this for a long time.

[00:09:52] Damn, that sucks.

[00:09:53] And we ask him for stuff for the for the coming year, you know, and things that would be good

[00:09:58] for the park and things that'd be good for us personally.

[00:10:00] And, you know, it's all very clever and hilarious.

[00:10:05] So, yeah.

[00:10:06] And if I was ready for the show at all, I would have like Christmas music, you know,

[00:10:11] I'd have a whole thing like I did for Halloween.

[00:10:13] But I wasn't, you know, I'm not used to getting bullied on my own show by Eric.

[00:10:18] Like, but he wasn't on the air.

[00:10:21] It wasn't.

[00:10:21] No, I did record it, though.

[00:10:22] So it will be a secret show.

[00:10:23] It'll be Patreon.

[00:10:24] That's your January secret show.

[00:10:26] It'll definitely be part of What the Bleep.

[00:10:27] So you've got the part with me crying, just sobbing uncontrollably.

[00:10:32] But I wrote an outline of a letter, you bastard.

[00:10:36] And I'll be like, I'm sorry.

[00:10:37] I just I forgot.

[00:10:40] Yeah.

[00:10:41] So let's just kick it off.

[00:10:42] Let's start off, man.

[00:10:44] Rob from Bantha Milk.

[00:10:46] First of all, Rob, how's Bantha Milk going?

[00:10:47] What are you guys doing over there?

[00:10:48] There's nothing really Star Wars.

[00:10:49] Oh, no, there's skeleton crew.

[00:10:51] And it's good.

[00:10:53] It exists.

[00:10:54] Yeah.

[00:10:55] Oh, I like skeleton crew.

[00:10:57] Good.

[00:10:57] Yeah, that's good.

[00:10:58] I'm enjoying it.

[00:11:00] I'm only two episodes in.

[00:11:02] I haven't caught up with the rest.

[00:11:04] It, you know, I don't know.

[00:11:06] I have a hard time with child actors.

[00:11:08] They're just I don't anything with child actors.

[00:11:10] I just don't automatically.

[00:11:11] But the set design is cool.

[00:11:13] The story seems, you know, kind of loose and young adult targeted.

[00:11:17] And I think it's, you know, I think they're doing a pretty good job.

[00:11:20] Six out of ten so far.

[00:11:21] Can I ask like in a in like two sentences?

[00:11:25] What what is this and what does it have to do with Star Wars?

[00:11:28] I've never heard of this before.

[00:11:30] That's for Rob.

[00:11:31] Yeah, this is this is they were dubbing it like Star Wars Goonies.

[00:11:36] OK.

[00:11:36] So it's but I would say it's more like Star Wars and young Indiana Jones.

[00:11:43] Yeah.

[00:11:44] The story is not tight enough for you to be Goonies.

[00:11:46] It's young.

[00:11:46] And I think it's because they're trying to make, you know, fill four hours worth of time

[00:11:50] with eight episodes.

[00:11:51] Well, that's true, man.

[00:11:53] Hour and a half, two hours.

[00:11:55] Yeah.

[00:11:56] Yeah.

[00:11:56] But but yeah.

[00:11:57] So the kids are kids.

[00:11:59] They get sent off into space.

[00:12:00] They climb on a spaceship and get sent off into space.

[00:12:03] And then the whole thing is them trying to find their way home.

[00:12:07] OK.

[00:12:07] I wonder if it's like more like a babysitter's club in space.

[00:12:11] Not babysitter's club.

[00:12:14] Adventures in babysitting.

[00:12:15] Is it babysitting?

[00:12:16] Yeah.

[00:12:17] Kind of.

[00:12:18] Except Jude Law's not really babysitting.

[00:12:22] That's too bad.

[00:12:22] I'm sorry.

[00:12:22] There's a Jude Law in this?

[00:12:24] Yes.

[00:12:25] I told you you should watch it with me.

[00:12:26] Well, I'm.

[00:12:27] That's all you had to say.

[00:12:28] Yeah.

[00:12:29] I am in.

[00:12:30] All right.

[00:12:31] So just ask the question again.

[00:12:32] What's it about?

[00:12:32] I'll just say Jude Law.

[00:12:33] Yeah.

[00:12:33] And then I go, OK, great.

[00:12:35] I will watch it.

[00:12:36] Perfect.

[00:12:37] Can we end the show now so I can go watch it?

[00:12:39] Yes.

[00:12:40] I am done.

[00:12:41] Yeah.

[00:12:41] Dear Santa Iger.

[00:12:42] Well, I'll tell you what.

[00:12:43] For the first two episodes, he's not in it.

[00:12:45] So, you know, it's all right.

[00:12:47] OK.

[00:12:48] Well, that sounds good.

[00:12:48] So you guys are talking about that and doing a little trivia on that and how it ties into

[00:12:52] the greater Star Wars theme or that right?

[00:12:55] And a lot of a lot of Easter eggs, which is fun.

[00:12:58] I don't like calling them Easter eggs, but that's what they're called.

[00:13:00] I wish they gave it a better name than that.

[00:13:02] But there's so many little and not to other Star Wars things.

[00:13:06] But to any 80s kid show that or a kid's movie like Goonies, like Back to the Future,

[00:13:15] E.T., things like that.

[00:13:16] Like they have all these little Easter eggs where you're like, oh, that kind of looks like

[00:13:20] this or that kind of looks like that.

[00:13:22] Can we call them like Bantha Caps or something like that?

[00:13:25] Perfect.

[00:13:27] Perfect.

[00:13:27] Yeah.

[00:13:27] It rolls off the tongue, man.

[00:13:29] Yeah.

[00:13:29] I'm waiting for somebody to say, you'll shoot your eye out.

[00:13:32] That's awesome.

[00:13:34] They did have Jaleel White in two episodes.

[00:13:38] They did.

[00:13:39] Yes.

[00:13:40] Jaleel White.

[00:13:41] You mean Urkel?

[00:13:43] Urkel.

[00:13:43] Urkel.

[00:13:43] Wow.

[00:13:44] Jesus.

[00:13:44] A grown up Urkel.

[00:13:46] And there was one scene where there was like all this destruction around them.

[00:13:49] And I so wanted him to be like, did I do that?

[00:13:55] Oh, he should have.

[00:13:56] Dude, that would be awesome.

[00:13:57] I will absolutely watch this.

[00:13:58] That actually sounds really good.

[00:14:00] Yeah.

[00:14:00] It's actually way better than the last.

[00:14:03] The accolade I did not like.

[00:14:05] I think Ryan and Eric appreciated it.

[00:14:08] I was not fond of it at all.

[00:14:10] But this one I'm really enjoying.

[00:14:12] Well, that's good.

[00:14:12] I appreciate that.

[00:14:13] And, you know, in the I think it was the first or maybe the second when they get to the pirate spaceport.

[00:14:19] Yeah.

[00:14:20] They have that Captain EO animal.

[00:14:23] Yeah.

[00:14:23] Huh?

[00:14:23] There's a flying butterfly fuzzball thing from Captain EO.

[00:14:27] Yeah.

[00:14:27] And I was like, OK, I don't know how I feel about this.

[00:14:30] I don't know if I like it or not.

[00:14:31] And also in the very beginning, they have DJ Rex or whatever his original call sign was from Star Tours.

[00:14:39] He's driving the bus in it.

[00:14:41] So it's like, oh, look at that.

[00:14:43] So a lot of a lot of little fun Easter eggs, Star Wars and non Star Wars related.

[00:14:46] So it's fun to find all those things.

[00:14:48] Yeah, I think so.

[00:14:49] That's what we're doing over there right now.

[00:14:51] All right.

[00:14:51] I love that.

[00:14:52] Well, why don't you fire off your what I assume would be AI written letter.

[00:15:00] Wow.

[00:15:02] Funny.

[00:15:03] Funny you should say that.

[00:15:04] I wrote this one all by myself.

[00:15:07] That a boy.

[00:15:09] I said to myself, I'm not going to let AI take over my life.

[00:15:12] So I wrote this one all by.

[00:15:14] All right.

[00:15:14] Let's hear it.

[00:15:15] Here we go.

[00:15:16] So dear Santa.

[00:15:18] You've got it written on a card and everything.

[00:15:20] Crayon.

[00:15:21] I love that.

[00:15:22] Yeah.

[00:15:23] For Christmas.

[00:15:23] I want a Red Ryder BB gun.

[00:15:25] I hear nothing bad will come out of that.

[00:15:28] That new Lego black Millennium Falcon is sweet.

[00:15:30] It's not as big as the $600 monster that once you build it, you need a new room just to store it.

[00:15:36] But nonetheless, still totally awesome.

[00:15:38] And it'll fit perfectly in my haul of Lego stuff.

[00:15:41] I want an RV so I can drive across the country and meet face to face with my friends I made who live in weird places like Georgia, Colorado, and of all places, California.

[00:15:51] I want a charcuterie board.

[00:15:53] Not because I like fancy luncheon meats and cheeses, but because I like saying charcuterie.

[00:16:00] I want a drone.

[00:16:01] All the cool kids out here in New Jersey are flying drones all over the place.

[00:16:06] I want to play along.

[00:16:08] Oh, wait.

[00:16:08] Sorry.

[00:16:08] That's my list for tomorrow when I take the kids to see Santa at the mall.

[00:16:13] When the kids take you to see Santa at the mall?

[00:16:15] Yes.

[00:16:15] Here's my list for Grinch Iger.

[00:16:19] Okay.

[00:16:20] Here we go.

[00:16:22] Dear Grinch Iger, first off, I want to say thank you for showing us that a little Jewish kid from New York can go from Ithaca College and graduate with a degree in television and radio all the way to CEO of Disney.

[00:16:36] My roommate at Temple went to school for RTF and he had tests on things like what the call letter stood for.

[00:16:43] So the fact that you're able to take that, because I know your studies were grueling there.

[00:16:49] The fact that you can go from that all the way up to the CEO of Disney making $700 million a year is awesome.

[00:16:56] I mean, it's not what Elon Musk makes, but then again, Musk's family had millions to start with.

[00:17:02] Sure, your bonus alone could pay all of the 113,000 workers at both American parks a bonus of $200, but why share?

[00:17:10] Keep that $2.14 million for yourself.

[00:17:13] You know, you need a new yacht to best your 180-foot super yacht called Aquarius.

[00:17:18] But enough about you.

[00:17:19] You got yours.

[00:17:20] So what about me?

[00:17:21] First, I want to ask you for any of the shows you promised us and then pulled out from under our feet.

[00:17:27] You know, Rogue Squadron, Kevin Feige's Star Wars movie, David Benoff's and D.B. Weiss's Star Wars trilogy,

[00:17:36] Rian Johnson's Star Wars trilogy, J.D. Dillard's Star Wars movie, Taika Waikiki's Star Wars movie.

[00:17:44] This is reportedly on indefinite hold, whatever that means.

[00:17:48] James Mangold's Dawn of the Jedi movie, Dave Filoni's Mandoverse New Republic movie,

[00:17:54] Shereem Obi-Wan Shinobi's New Jedi Order movie, Simon Kerber's Star Wars trilogy,

[00:17:59] Star Wars Rogue Squadron movie.

[00:18:00] You know, all those things that you promised us.

[00:18:02] I didn't realize there were so many.

[00:18:04] Gosh.

[00:18:07] Instead, we get the Acolyte and the destruction of Boba Fett.

[00:18:11] I mean, the Boba Fett horror ball series.

[00:18:14] I am enjoying Skeleton Crew.

[00:18:16] And check out our breakdown of episode four tomorrow on podcast on YouTube or wherever you download your podcast.

[00:18:24] Speaking of the parks, can we have the Star Wars land you promised us?

[00:18:28] Oh, I'm sorry for all of you Disney and Star Wars nerds out there.

[00:18:32] Galaxy's Edge.

[00:18:33] This is a great space.

[00:18:35] Don't get me wrong.

[00:18:36] But if the Iranians can fly drones all over New Jersey from the mothership out in the Atlantic,

[00:18:41] you can make drones and droids in this area.

[00:18:44] I don't know.

[00:18:46] Work.

[00:18:47] We saw those little chicken droids walking around for what?

[00:18:50] One day.

[00:18:50] Give me R2-D2.

[00:18:52] There's like a thousand cosplayers who build them on their own.

[00:18:55] Surely you can build one to wander around the park.

[00:18:58] And on top of that, you know that awesome ride, Rise of the Resistance?

[00:19:02] Can it?

[00:19:02] Oh, I don't know.

[00:19:03] Work.

[00:19:05] The first time I went on it, it was in B mode.

[00:19:09] I did not get to see Hondo or Kylo until I went back to the park a year later.

[00:19:14] And finally about the parks, if you can make the Star Wars Holiday Special canon,

[00:19:18] you know, the Disney approval for all the Star Wars non-nerds out there,

[00:19:23] then can you please let Darth Vader or Yoda walk around the park?

[00:19:27] We don't care if they fit into the timeline of the park.

[00:19:30] After all, it was a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

[00:19:35] Grinch Iger, can you bring me more Disney stocks?

[00:19:39] I have a lofty 40.07 shares.

[00:19:42] I think if you use one less roll of toilet paper in the parks, they give you a bonus of like a thousand shares.

[00:19:48] Can you share those shares with us?

[00:19:50] If not directly, can you sell them back so the price goes up?

[00:19:53] Right now, I'm making a whole $133 on these stocks.

[00:19:57] I can't even buy one day park ticket with those earnings.

[00:20:01] Jason never got his bike, he asked for last year.

[00:20:04] I am a friend asking for him, can you please bring it this year?

[00:20:08] It would be super cool if it had a banana seat and tassels hanging from the handlebars.

[00:20:12] When you bring him his bike, can I have a new bike as well?

[00:20:16] I like riding bikes.

[00:20:18] Speaking of ears up, we, Bantha Milk, were the second show on this network, to last that is,

[00:20:25] and we have been getting the shaft since those TSR guys moved in.

[00:20:29] They moved in and Jason moved us to the horse trailer out back.

[00:20:33] He said it was temporary.

[00:20:35] It has now been four years.

[00:20:37] The puny pod guys got a brand new studio with awesome Iron Man masks and Hulk hands,

[00:20:44] and we're still out back.

[00:20:46] Then those BVB boys started their podcast,

[00:20:49] and Jason has a room with the actual animatronic of Walt sitting in the corner,

[00:20:54] since the family cannot agree if Walt would want a robot of himself in the parks or not.

[00:20:58] And still, we're in the trailer.

[00:21:01] I know you have some Star Wars hotel rooms that are not being used.

[00:21:05] Can you please let Jason go, take some of the stuff out,

[00:21:08] and put that into a studio so we can move, I don't know, inside the office, please, this year?

[00:21:14] Get invited to the holiday party.

[00:21:16] Come on.

[00:21:17] And finally, hear me out.

[00:21:21] Disney's now pushing their cruise line.

[00:21:23] So they have parks, they have movies, they have cruise lines.

[00:21:25] So what's left?

[00:21:26] I know.

[00:21:27] The Disney airplane.

[00:21:28] You have all this land in Florida, and why not let us fly directly into the bubble aboard a Disney airplane?

[00:21:36] We can even have Disney property aboard a Disney plane,

[00:21:40] and who knows, it could even be flown by Mickey Mouse himself.

[00:21:43] It's just an idea.

[00:21:45] You don't want to grant me that wish?

[00:21:46] Okay.

[00:21:47] Then can you give me the Star Wars musical?

[00:21:51] I live very close to New York City, and they have The Lion King, Wicked.

[00:22:00] My son saw a musical about corn.

[00:22:02] True story.

[00:22:04] I'm sure it was corn with a K or corn with a C?

[00:22:08] Or corn with a P.

[00:22:09] Not the band, corn with a C.

[00:22:11] The opening song is all about corn.

[00:22:14] We love corn.

[00:22:14] I swear, true story.

[00:22:17] And even a Back to the Future musical just came out.

[00:22:20] So why not a Star Wars musical?

[00:22:23] It has got to be better than Spider-Man the musical.

[00:22:26] So please, Mr. Grinch Iger, if you're not going to share your money with me,

[00:22:31] buy me a bike, make me a plane that will fly directly into the bubble.

[00:22:36] Please give me a musical.

[00:22:38] Thank you, and happy Hanukkah.

[00:22:43] Excellent.

[00:22:43] Excellent.

[00:22:44] I'm glad to hear you say that Star Wars fans don't care about the timeline for Galaxy's

[00:22:52] Edge, because I feel the same way, too.

[00:22:54] Yes.

[00:22:54] I don't think anybody truly gives it, especially not anymore.

[00:22:57] I feel like people don't care.

[00:22:58] Not anymore.

[00:22:59] Yeah.

[00:22:59] They just want the things.

[00:23:01] Maybe they did at first, maybe.

[00:23:04] Right.

[00:23:04] Yeah, give us something.

[00:23:05] Do you mean like keeping with the timeline of the series?

[00:23:09] Yeah, so by the time that the stories are in Galaxy's Edge, Vader is already dead.

[00:23:15] Oh, okay.

[00:23:16] Yeah.

[00:23:16] I see.

[00:23:18] Spoiler alert.

[00:23:18] They're holding tight to Vader's not allowed to walk around.

[00:23:22] You're not going to see a Han Solo or Skywalker.

[00:23:24] Oh, that's silly.

[00:23:24] Would you accept, Rob?

[00:23:26] It's Star...

[00:23:26] Can we just call it Star Wars Land?

[00:23:28] It would have actually been a lot easier.

[00:23:30] I do, yeah.

[00:23:31] Rob, would you accept if Kylo Ren walked around the park with the melted Vader mask that he keeps in his bedroom?

[00:23:42] Would it be fun if he was holding that the whole time and pouting it?

[00:23:46] Out, grandfather.

[00:23:48] See, they could just have a Vader appreciation day.

[00:23:52] That's it.

[00:23:52] Just one day.

[00:23:53] Flashback.

[00:23:54] They could do old school one day in the park or a week or whatever.

[00:23:58] That's like old classic Star Wars, which I guess they kind of do with Star Wars Night, but I don't know if they have Vader walking around.

[00:24:04] But it's like, it's kind of like, would you be really mad if Joy started walking around, like walked through Cars Land?

[00:24:11] Like no one would be mad.

[00:24:12] It's like, it's fine.

[00:24:13] Yeah.

[00:24:14] Rob would be spinning in his grave at that one.

[00:24:17] I guess.

[00:24:19] You gotta rehydrate him first.

[00:24:22] All right, Eric, why don't you go first?

[00:24:24] Since you were, uh, you, you were called out as well in the, uh, Bantha Milk podcast.

[00:24:31] Grinch.

[00:24:32] There we go.

[00:24:33] And it would probably be second, right?

[00:24:36] You're not forgetting that.

[00:24:37] But Rob already talked.

[00:24:38] You said, Eric, go first.

[00:24:41] I said, go next.

[00:24:42] Okay.

[00:24:42] Maybe, but that's okay.

[00:24:43] Maybe I didn't hear.

[00:24:44] Maybe I didn't hear.

[00:24:45] Well, maybe, you know what?

[00:24:46] How about this?

[00:24:46] Eric, why don't you go first after Eric went?

[00:24:49] Now you're first because there is, because you're the first.

[00:24:52] Eric, go first.

[00:24:52] Oh, we're just, no, that's what I'm saying.

[00:24:54] Eric, go first.

[00:24:56] Because Rob already went.

[00:24:57] All right.

[00:24:58] Yeah.

[00:24:58] I'll talk now.

[00:24:59] Are we?

[00:25:00] Okay.

[00:25:00] Well, what's going on over at Supreme Resort and all the stuff that you do?

[00:25:04] We're, we're talking a lot about hotels.

[00:25:07] Oh, good.

[00:25:08] The fans love it.

[00:25:09] It's, it's been genuinely enlightening.

[00:25:12] Actually, that would be an interesting topic.

[00:25:14] It's, it is kind of in line with what we set out to do, which is what, which resort is

[00:25:19] best.

[00:25:19] So let's talk about all of the hotels we've done value hotels.

[00:25:22] We're working on moderates.

[00:25:24] We have theme songs that Dan has composed for us.

[00:25:29] Okay, good.

[00:25:29] I can't wait.

[00:25:31] Yeah.

[00:25:32] I mean, that is, that is good, especially because there are a lot of new hotels springing

[00:25:35] up and you got to know what's worth it and what's not, especially after we were talking

[00:25:40] hotels with Mr. P with Paul in our last episode in Tokyo, you know, and like what's worth

[00:25:46] the spend.

[00:25:48] Yeah.

[00:25:48] So it makes, and that's, that's exactly what we're doing.

[00:25:50] And we've, we've spent, I mean, we really have spent a lot of time.

[00:25:53] Each, each series seems to be three episodes long because they're a little bit shorter.

[00:25:58] They're not two hours each.

[00:26:01] Two hours on the super eight.

[00:26:03] But we have talked about super eights.

[00:26:05] We've talked about best Westerns.

[00:26:08] Dan has stayed at many of the hotels around Disneyland.

[00:26:12] Yeah.

[00:26:12] I was impressed with how many he's like, Oh, I stayed there.

[00:26:15] I stayed there.

[00:26:15] I stayed there.

[00:26:16] He rarely stays at the same place twice.

[00:26:18] And then we have Jimmy and I have stayed at many of the Walt Disney world resort hotels.

[00:26:23] So we figured we'd stay in the resort for Walt Disney world.

[00:26:26] And then Disneyland we'll do.

[00:26:30] We're kind of approximating based on the good neighbor hotel status.

[00:26:34] Like are they value resorts?

[00:26:35] Are they moderate deluxe?

[00:26:37] So yeah, that's, that's continuing and will continue forever.

[00:26:43] Yeah.

[00:26:44] Sounds great.

[00:26:45] Part of the song says, don't worry.

[00:26:46] They'll get back to rides someday.

[00:26:48] Oh yeah.

[00:26:49] I love that.

[00:26:50] All right.

[00:26:50] Well hit us with your Santa Iger.

[00:26:52] All right, let's do it.

[00:26:55] Dear Santa Iger.

[00:26:56] Hey, it's me again.

[00:26:58] Eric with a K.

[00:27:00] You sent me that shareholder letter once and the one about the COVID.

[00:27:04] First off, let me thank you for actually announcing something at D23 this year.

[00:27:08] We got so many new flashy things to think about and blog about and podcast about that I can hardly breathe.

[00:27:14] It felt like old times having you and Josh up there on the stage making crazy promises.

[00:27:18] We're sure you're going to keep.

[00:27:20] That said, 2025 seems a bit sparse.

[00:27:23] I know it's hard to jump in and have stuff going in a few months, but we can really use it.

[00:27:28] Epic Universe looks really cool.

[00:27:30] And man, that VelociCoaster.

[00:27:32] Wow.

[00:27:34] Anyway, I'm happy we're still going to get a bunch of new shows, a new nighttime parade.

[00:27:39] That's super awesome.

[00:27:40] And I can't wait to see it.

[00:27:42] Spectrum Magic vibes all around.

[00:27:44] And that name is perfect for Disney.

[00:27:46] Disney Starlight.

[00:27:47] Dream the night away.

[00:27:48] It has all the crazy crap that you put in a Disney name.

[00:27:51] And also we're getting a new test track, I hear.

[00:27:53] I'm sure that'll be great.

[00:27:55] And I think Disneyland's probably getting something too next year.

[00:27:57] But hey, let's move on to the things I want to ask you about.

[00:28:01] I really don't want a lot of little things this year.

[00:28:04] I just, you know, I think I'd like to show off my maturity and just ask for two really big things.

[00:28:10] For Christmas this year, I'd love for you to find more ways for the wealthy

[00:28:14] and people who are bad at math to get on rides faster.

[00:28:19] It's really important to shuffle them through the parks without getting in our way.

[00:28:23] On the streets, I mean.

[00:28:24] They'll be for sure getting in our way once they get to the front of the line.

[00:28:27] I mean, they're probably spending so much time at Club 33

[00:28:30] that they don't even have time to shop for spirit jerseys.

[00:28:33] You've got to make a buck, my man.

[00:28:35] I also hope that you make me richer this year somehow as part of this same request.

[00:28:40] Just showing that I can also rub elbows with the big wigs.

[00:28:46] Next on my list is something I really, really want.

[00:28:49] It's also very important.

[00:28:51] When Ron DeSantis becomes the head of the Pentagon or whatever,

[00:28:54] I want you to stage a coup and take over the state of Florida.

[00:29:00] Well, not you personally.

[00:29:02] The Walt Disney Corporation.

[00:29:03] Think about it.

[00:29:04] You'll be the first corporate entity to become governor.

[00:29:07] It's perfect.

[00:29:08] You get control of Reedy Creek back and you can install your own cronies around the state.

[00:29:12] I'm sure that Floridians everywhere will think that you got a bum rap when they took

[00:29:18] away the awesome power of that zoning commission.

[00:29:20] Now you can run the whole state.

[00:29:23] So that's all for now, but I'd like to move on to some requests for my friends.

[00:29:28] I don't know that they'll think to ask about these things, although apparently they're here

[00:29:31] tonight and they weren't when I wrote this.

[00:29:35] Are you sure?

[00:29:36] Maybe we were.

[00:29:37] Maybe they were.

[00:29:38] Maybe they were.

[00:29:38] We were here in.

[00:29:40] Hovering over my shoulder.

[00:29:42] From the horse trailer.

[00:29:44] That's right.

[00:29:45] Banff and Milk has a bunch of new shows to talk about, so I'm sure they're pretty happy.

[00:29:49] Keep it up with that content that everybody loves, especially Rob.

[00:29:57] Puny Pod probably has some work to do because people actually liked Agatha all along and Deadpool

[00:30:02] and Wolverine.

[00:30:03] Some people actually want to watch this stuff again, and now they have content for years

[00:30:07] to come.

[00:30:09] And thank you for Moana, too.

[00:30:11] Scraping the Vault should do a special episode of that one because it sounds like the movie

[00:30:15] followed the same example of all of their favorite movies.

[00:30:18] Just like Belle's Magical World, it's three TV shows strung together with a loose plot.

[00:30:22] It's perfect for them.

[00:30:24] Thanks for providing that.

[00:30:25] No new notes.

[00:30:27] The Supreme Resort is all about hotels.

[00:30:29] Could you ask them to do something about a ride?

[00:30:31] I guess it kind of makes sense if you think about their name.

[00:30:36] But thanks, Santa Iger, for so much fun this year.

[00:30:39] I can't wait to talk about it for many years to come.

[00:30:42] Also, let that guy you hired find you a successor.

[00:30:45] Love and cookies, Eric.

[00:30:48] Hey!

[00:30:52] Thank you.

[00:30:53] There you go.

[00:30:54] I love asking Bob Iger to help you pivot your show away from the topic.

[00:31:01] If he calls and says, you've got to do Haunted Mansion again.

[00:31:05] Okay, Bob.

[00:31:06] I'll try.

[00:31:07] Yeah, we have to.

[00:31:09] Or Tiki Room.

[00:31:10] Darn it.

[00:31:11] I'm losing hope in Tiki Room, but if Bob says so.

[00:31:17] Well, I guess we're just going to go in order of whoever's on Zoom.

[00:31:22] So that's me.

[00:31:23] I kind of have two different versions of the same letter.

[00:31:27] Oh, boy.

[00:31:28] And I don't know what to read.

[00:31:29] I'm kind of torn between the two.

[00:31:31] What I realized is that Bob Iger is not really paying attention to what I'm asking him lately.

[00:31:37] And I thought maybe it was my approach.

[00:31:39] So I took my letter and I pulled a page from Rob and I entered it into AI.

[00:31:44] And I said, this is a letter to Bob Iger, the CEO of Walt Disney Corporation.

[00:31:50] Please.

[00:31:50] What was my exact prompt was?

[00:31:54] I would like for you to rewrite it using corporate speak and buzzwords.

[00:31:57] The more the better.

[00:31:59] Okay.

[00:32:00] Nice.

[00:32:00] The more the better.

[00:32:01] I feel like I got to do the corporate version.

[00:32:04] That'll be fun.

[00:32:05] Yeah.

[00:32:06] Okay.

[00:32:06] All right.

[00:32:09] Subject, enhancing the Disney guest experience.

[00:32:12] Dear Mr. Iger, as the year draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on the parallel

[00:32:17] paths we traverse.

[00:32:19] Both of us exist in this vibrant world, navigating through the intricate web of feedback, particularly

[00:32:25] concerning our beloved Disney films and television shows.

[00:32:29] Despite our shared experiences, the frequency of our visits to the parks leaves much to be

[00:32:33] desired, reminding me of the importance of engagement and connection.

[00:32:37] In light of recent developments and our ongoing dialogue, I wish to present a set of recommendations

[00:32:43] that I believe would significantly enhance the guest experience and nurture a more inclusive,

[00:32:48] Disney environment.

[00:32:52] I've not read over this at all.

[00:32:55] This is a cold read.

[00:32:56] Yeah.

[00:32:56] So these are my, obviously these are my points.

[00:32:58] Sure.

[00:32:58] These are my ideas.

[00:33:00] Number one, price reduction for souvenirs.

[00:33:03] A pivotal action would be to revisit the pricing structure for merchandise within

[00:33:07] the parks.

[00:33:08] From my observations, the costs have escalated to levels that deter fans from indulging in

[00:33:13] the excitement of purchasing memorabilia.

[00:33:14] Given the anticipated tariff increases in 2025, it is imperative to alleviate some of this

[00:33:20] financial burden.

[00:33:21] Creating a more accessible pricing model would foster a sense of value among our guest base.

[00:33:26] Not bad, honestly.

[00:33:28] I mean, like if I was a corporate, you know, MOOC, I would, I would listen to that over, you

[00:33:35] know, what did I say?

[00:33:36] Took like four words and made it two sentences.

[00:33:39] That's corporate word.

[00:33:40] That's corporate language right there.

[00:33:42] Yeah.

[00:33:43] And I said, even when we were frequently going to the parks, it was hard to justify the cost

[00:33:47] on buying cool stuff.

[00:33:50] So.

[00:33:51] The word cool was not in there once.

[00:33:52] No.

[00:33:53] Impressive.

[00:33:53] Yeah.

[00:33:55] Point two, addressing the aesthetic integrity of the parks.

[00:33:58] The recent addition of a utility shed adjacent to the Haunted Mansion has raised significant

[00:34:03] concerns about our commitment to immersive and thoughtful design.

[00:34:06] The legacy of Imagineering has always encompassed the artistry of architecture and the current

[00:34:11] trend of placing unadorned structures in prominent locations undermines this principle.

[00:34:16] It is crucial to restore funding for Imagineering to ensure that future developments honor the magical

[00:34:22] atmosphere that Disney represents.

[00:34:24] The placement of a prefabricated structure without context detracts from the iconic nature

[00:34:30] of our environment.

[00:34:32] We'll talk about that in the news in case you don't know what the hell I mean.

[00:34:36] Last point.

[00:34:37] Inclusive pricing strategies.

[00:34:40] Ooh.

[00:34:40] The stratification.

[00:34:41] It sounds good, right?

[00:34:42] Yeah.

[00:34:42] Yeah.

[00:34:43] It sounds like, oh man, this person, this consultant definitely deserved their $25,000 invoice.

[00:34:49] The stratification of our guest demographic necessitates immediate attention.

[00:34:54] Wow.

[00:34:55] Wow.

[00:34:57] Yes.

[00:34:58] The current pricing framework disproportionately favors frequent visitors and inadvertently

[00:35:04] alienates the average family who aspires to experience the magic of Disney.

[00:35:09] I propose the introduction of discounted tickets for guests who have not visited the park in

[00:35:15] three or more years.

[00:35:16] Oh, interesting.

[00:35:17] This initiative could serve as both a gesture of goodwill and a strategic move to reinvigorate

[00:35:22] the fan base.

[00:35:23] Utilizing data analytics to identify guests who have become inactive could streamline

[00:35:28] this implementation.

[00:35:30] In conclusion, I appreciate your willingness to consider these insights.

[00:35:33] While the discussion may lean towards criticism at times, please rest assured that my intentions

[00:35:38] are rooted in a desire to see Disney thrive.

[00:35:41] Collaboration is key to overcoming the challenges we face and ensuring that all guests feel welcomed

[00:35:46] and valued.

[00:35:47] Let us work together to reestablish connections with the loyal fans who have supported the

[00:35:51] company for years.

[00:35:53] Thank you for your time and understanding, Bob.

[00:35:55] Your leadership during this pivotal period is essential, and I look forward to witnessing

[00:36:00] the positive transformations that lie ahead.

[00:36:02] Yours sincerely, Jason.

[00:36:06] Excellent.

[00:36:08] So that was the closing argument or the closing paragraph that I wrote, and this is what I

[00:36:14] wrote.

[00:36:15] Okay, Iger, Chapek is here for dinner and he brought some of his vintage two buck chuck.

[00:36:20] It's a thing we do.

[00:36:21] We like to have fun.

[00:36:23] Thank you, as usual, for listening to me vent.

[00:36:25] I know things can be blah, blah, blah.

[00:36:26] And if I don't tell you these things, nobody will.

[00:36:28] And that's how we get barges, Bob.

[00:36:31] Do you want barges, Bob?

[00:36:33] So I don't know.

[00:36:34] But to clarify the point about providing cheaper pricing for people who haven't been to the

[00:36:40] parks.

[00:36:41] Yeah.

[00:36:41] My thought was, well, here, I guess I'll read it again.

[00:36:47] I would really love to see you offer discounted parks or discounted tickets to families that

[00:36:50] haven't gone to the parks in three or more years.

[00:36:53] As a start, you can use the old annual pass accounts or look at Disney ticket logins.

[00:36:57] See who's dropped off over the years.

[00:36:59] There are queries you can run for this.

[00:37:01] Invite us back.

[00:37:02] But at a discount.

[00:37:02] So you know what I mean?

[00:37:03] If you haven't gone in three years or five years, or when we look at your data analytics

[00:37:09] and go, well, this website or this email address hasn't purchased a ticket in five years, let's

[00:37:13] give you a 25% coupon or something like that to get you back in.

[00:37:16] Because my argument for that was, you just have the same people going all the time.

[00:37:21] And then there's a sense of weird ownership in this class system that we've tried to get

[00:37:25] away from with the annual pass holders.

[00:37:27] You know, eliminating that kind of eliminated this.

[00:37:29] But if you're at a certain economic level, that's who's going right.

[00:37:34] And we want to like mix that up a little bit.

[00:37:37] Yeah.

[00:37:38] That was good.

[00:37:38] It is a good idea.

[00:37:40] All right.

[00:37:42] Taryn, why don't you go first?

[00:37:43] Let's let's let RGH wrap it up.

[00:37:45] Oh, okay.

[00:37:50] Dear Mr. Santa Iger.

[00:37:53] After many, many, many, many years of asking you, then the other Bob, and then you again,

[00:37:58] for the same few things, higher wages for cast members, lower ticket prices, and the occasional

[00:38:04] free offerings, I've come to the conclusion that maybe I'm not asking in the right way.

[00:38:10] Since none of these things have happened, I fear that we are not communicating in a manner

[00:38:13] that best suits your needs.

[00:38:15] For this reason, this year I have decided to take a new approach.

[00:38:19] I have written you a poetic Christmas tale.

[00:38:22] And in it, I hope you will finally see and understand the simple things that I'm asking for.

[00:38:26] And as a bonus, you understand those, I'm sure.

[00:38:30] I have also created a path to which my dreams may come true.

[00:38:34] As always, have a very Merry Christmas.

[00:38:37] Best.

[00:38:38] Taryn Petros.

[00:38:41] It was good, Taryn.

[00:38:43] Good job.

[00:38:44] Poem enclosed.

[00:38:45] Oh, sorry, man.

[00:38:49] Twas the night before Christmas.

[00:38:50] And up on his throne sat Mr. Bobby Iger, staring at his phone.

[00:38:55] Bobby was worried.

[00:38:57] His stock was a bit sorrow.

[00:38:59] So he called up Daddy McTightpants, also known as Josh DeMauro.

[00:39:03] Joshie, he cried.

[00:39:05] We need something new, something big and expensive, something out of the blue.

[00:39:09] Okay, said Josh with a sparkle in his eye.

[00:39:12] How about a new park?

[00:39:14] He said, sipping his chai.

[00:39:16] I like it, said Bob.

[00:39:18] And his eyes darted to and from.

[00:39:20] Let's theme it to Avatar.

[00:39:21] They love that at Animal Kingdom.

[00:39:24] I was thinking something more current, said Josh with a flat grin.

[00:39:30] Encanto or Frozen or Tangled with Flynn?

[00:39:33] Nah, I know what's best for the parks, don't you know?

[00:39:36] I've been the king for years, as my bonuses show.

[00:39:40] So let's just do Avatar.

[00:39:42] Trust me, the guests will pay.

[00:39:44] Then he whispered into his phone.

[00:39:46] They do anything I say.

[00:39:49] Josh blew out a sigh.

[00:39:51] Then he asked with concern, how will we fund this?

[00:39:55] Oh, don't you learn?

[00:39:57] Then Bobby explained with a smile like the Mad Hatter.

[00:40:00] We raise park prices, lower employee benefits, decrease overall offerings, and none of that will matter.

[00:40:07] And that's when the idea popped in Joshie's brain.

[00:40:10] I need this guy gone, he thought, before he causes more pain.

[00:40:15] Before he hung up with Bobby, he said, thanks for the chat.

[00:40:19] Then he texted the team, we need to talk, stat.

[00:40:22] More rapid than Eagles, the executives came.

[00:40:25] And he welcomed and gathered them and called them by name.

[00:40:28] Now Tanisha, now David, now Alan, now Assad.

[00:40:31] On Carlos and on Kim, ideas bland and not mod.

[00:40:34] Together we come to dethrone our stale king.

[00:40:38] He must go now.

[00:40:39] But there's just one thing.

[00:40:42] We need someone in charge with a keen eye that can see.

[00:40:46] We need to lower prices, raise wages, and give more for free.

[00:40:50] This person should be kind, have the riz, and generally be...

[00:40:56] Stop it, bro.

[00:40:57] And generally be someone who looks good in tight pants.

[00:41:01] Why? Yes.

[00:41:01] Yes, that's me.

[00:41:04] Now I will take the reins and help the guests out.

[00:41:07] I will give them more, not less.

[00:41:08] So they will have no reason to pout.

[00:41:11] I will give raises and free healthcare to CMs.

[00:41:14] They deserve it, I think, because I'm a dem.

[00:41:17] So off the team went to capture poor Bob.

[00:41:21] I'd feel bad about this if he weren't such a knob.

[00:41:24] They went to his house, tied him up in a sack.

[00:41:26] They put him in the trunk and cried,

[00:41:28] You're out of here, Jack.

[00:41:30] And straight to the Matterhorn, they drove in a flash, locked him in the secret room, and left Bobby with no cash.

[00:41:37] Josh turned to his team and said, adjusting his pants,

[00:41:41] I'm your king now, and I have big plans.

[00:41:45] Because the parks are for all, not just for some to enjoy, I will lower ticket prices, food prices, and even the toys.

[00:41:53] But better than that, his eyes big and wide, we'll give CMs the cash they deserve so they can work here with pride.

[00:42:02] But Josh, an exec spoke up with concern.

[00:42:05] How will we profit?

[00:42:07] How will stakeholders earn?

[00:42:09] Oh, Josh laughed.

[00:42:12] Don't you fret.

[00:42:13] When it comes down to it, you will get what you get.

[00:42:16] So Merry Christmas to all, he said.

[00:42:19] And as my first act as boss, I revoke all executive bonuses.

[00:42:24] And the world cried,

[00:42:26] You're aws!

[00:42:30] You're aws?

[00:42:32] Yeah, like awesome.

[00:42:33] Oh.

[00:42:34] Okay, alright.

[00:42:35] Okay, I didn't know we were making a word.

[00:42:37] Yeah, it rhymes with boss.

[00:42:38] It does rhyme with boss.

[00:42:39] Yeah, if it was a word, I would...

[00:42:42] Good job, Jeremy.

[00:42:44] That's why you didn't say skibbity toilet for some reason too in there.

[00:42:48] Just didn't rhyme.

[00:42:49] No.

[00:42:50] No.

[00:42:51] I think that's a universal property now.

[00:42:52] I get that reference.

[00:42:55] It is.

[00:42:55] It's in Fortnite, for God's sakes.

[00:42:58] They also are putting a Mariah Carey skin in Fortnite.

[00:43:01] Like, Fortnite is weird now, dude.

[00:43:02] Weird.

[00:43:03] Actually, Fortnite, doesn't Disney own Fortnite?

[00:43:05] They do.

[00:43:06] Do they own part of it?

[00:43:08] Part of the company?

[00:43:09] I think so.

[00:43:10] Yeah.

[00:43:11] I don't know.

[00:43:11] But like, to think that a Disney arm is putting out skibbity toilet emotes.

[00:43:18] I don't...

[00:43:19] Yeah, that's weird.

[00:43:21] Yeah.

[00:43:21] I want to jam this glass in my brain.

[00:43:23] Ryan!

[00:43:24] Yes.

[00:43:24] From Puny Pod, brother.

[00:43:26] What's going on, brother?

[00:43:28] Welcome to the show, brother.

[00:43:30] What's going on at Puny Pod over there?

[00:43:31] What are you guys talking about?

[00:43:33] Well, actually, today, as we record, we just released the fourth part of our epic endgame review.

[00:43:44] Eric actually joined us, and we podcasted for six hours.

[00:43:48] Woo!

[00:43:48] Jeez!

[00:43:48] Jeez!

[00:43:49] Yeah.

[00:43:49] What is wrong with you guys?

[00:43:51] An hour and a half and my brains leak out my nose.

[00:43:53] You should listen to the show.

[00:43:54] It happened.

[00:43:55] Yeah.

[00:43:56] No.

[00:43:58] Little boopy.

[00:43:59] We knew this one was going to be a long one, and so we pre-planned that it was going to be four parts.

[00:44:04] We released it over the last couple weeks.

[00:44:06] Smart.

[00:44:08] And then next month, we'll be releasing Spider-Man Far From Home.

[00:44:14] And then we're actually done with the Infinity Saga, which is crazy.

[00:44:17] When we started the podcast, we watch and release order, and we are at the end of the Infinity Saga, which is a day I never thought would come.

[00:44:27] Wow.

[00:44:27] But it came two years in, so...

[00:44:31] Not bad.

[00:44:32] Two years?

[00:44:33] It's a pretty good ride.

[00:44:34] That's great.

[00:44:34] Yeah.

[00:44:35] Yeah.

[00:44:35] What are you going to do after that?

[00:44:36] Is there other stuff to do?

[00:44:38] Oh, yeah.

[00:44:38] Yeah, we will move on to...

[00:44:40] So, right now, for those...

[00:44:43] So, the current releases are in the multiverse saga, so that's what we're going to move on to.

[00:44:49] We're also taking a little bit of a break from the movie reviews.

[00:44:52] We've got a couple wrap-up shows for the phase and for the saga, and then we also are doing a dealer's choice movie.

[00:45:00] Stole a little bit of that from Scraping the Vault.

[00:45:03] Nice.

[00:45:04] But I bet my co-host, David, basically, he got all of the Sony Marvel releases, all of their box office returns this year, versus I took Deadpool and Wolverine.

[00:45:23] And I tried really hard to let him win.

[00:45:26] I kept adding things to the bet to give him some win conditions, because the Sony releases sucked.

[00:45:35] That's that Craven that I keep hearing about.

[00:45:37] The guy with the separated abs.

[00:45:40] Yeah, Craven and Venom and Madam Web, all stinkers.

[00:45:46] The Venom movies are like...

[00:45:47] They're okay.

[00:45:49] They're not rewatchable.

[00:45:51] And I think that's what really hit with the Marvel movies that Disney started doing, is they're rewatchable, because there's so much going on.

[00:45:58] But you see the Tom Hardy in Venom.

[00:46:00] You're like, first of all, the guy's not very dynamic.

[00:46:04] I mean, he's a little dynamic, but he's not very charismatic.

[00:46:06] He lacks a thing.

[00:46:08] And then you watch, and you're like, I've seen it.

[00:46:11] I don't have any desire to rewatch it.

[00:46:13] I feel like the rewatchability isn't there, like it is for any, name any Marvel movie, you know?

[00:46:19] I wholeheartedly agree.

[00:46:21] And also, when we made the bet, we thought that another animated Spider-Man was coming out this year, which it's not.

[00:46:28] And that probably would have let David win, had that come out.

[00:46:31] Those are doing it.

[00:46:33] That's good, man.

[00:46:34] That's good.

[00:46:35] But no, so we'll be watching Tokyo Drift here in like three months.

[00:46:38] So come listen to Puny Pod and listen to us talk about Tokyo Drift.

[00:46:44] Of all of the Fast and the Furious movies, you pick Tokyo Drift?

[00:46:49] It's my favorite.

[00:46:50] It is hard my favorite.

[00:46:53] Because it was like when they decided, hey, we're going to have all new characters completely offset from everybody else.

[00:47:02] It is a fun movie.

[00:47:03] Don't get me wrong.

[00:47:04] All of them are fun.

[00:47:04] They're all silly fun.

[00:47:06] But yeah.

[00:47:07] I've never seen a single one.

[00:47:09] Really?

[00:47:09] Ever.

[00:47:10] Maybe we'll have you on as a guest when we do Tokyo Drift.

[00:47:13] Just hard launch you right into that one.

[00:47:15] Yeah.

[00:47:16] I don't know, man.

[00:47:17] I appreciate the thought, but I'm going to wash my hair that day.

[00:47:23] I just like the first episode was like about drag racing and street racing.

[00:47:29] And now by Fast 27, whatever the latest one is.

[00:47:35] They're like superheroes who are launching cars into space.

[00:47:39] And I'm like, wait, what happened to kind of reality?

[00:47:43] Although like if you watch the first one, the eighth mile that they run takes them like 97 seconds.

[00:47:50] And it's like if your car takes that that long, your car is super slow.

[00:47:55] But they're shifting gears 27 times, whatever.

[00:47:57] They're launching cars into space.

[00:47:59] So it was pretty funny.

[00:48:00] I love that.

[00:48:01] I mean, that's like whenever you watch any sort of cop show or whatever, and there's a shootout.

[00:48:06] Nobody ever reloads.

[00:48:08] Right.

[00:48:09] They're either they have infinite ammo glitch or they are out of ammo.

[00:48:14] There's never there's hardly ever a reload, you know, especially like in Westerns or like that's a six shooter.

[00:48:19] You've shot 25 times.

[00:48:20] They also never hit anyone.

[00:48:22] Well, that's true.

[00:48:23] Yeah.

[00:48:23] It's so irritating.

[00:48:25] There's like 25 cops and one criminal and they can't hit him.

[00:48:28] Yeah.

[00:48:29] Well, I'm not going to say it.

[00:48:30] All right, Ryan.

[00:48:32] All right.

[00:48:33] Well, you hit us with the low letter, please.

[00:48:35] Yeah.

[00:48:36] Yeah.

[00:48:37] So dear Santa Iger, what a year it's been a look.

[00:48:43] I don't want to say too much and break the spell.

[00:48:45] Your friendly neighborhood Marvel podcasters actually putting you on the nice list this year for what you've done for Marvel.

[00:48:53] Don't screw it up.

[00:48:55] That said.

[00:48:57] I had a few things that I was hoping that you might think about.

[00:49:02] First, looking at our Marvel movies.

[00:49:05] Let's really stick to this whole less is more mentality we're building.

[00:49:10] One movie this year, three movies next year.

[00:49:14] We're good.

[00:49:15] Let's let's not go more than that.

[00:49:19] Also, let's try and spend a little bit more time on the street level.

[00:49:22] Not everything has to be an epic universal threat.

[00:49:28] Sometimes we just want a day walking vampire or a blind ninja.

[00:49:33] By the way, tell Kevin Feige to drop it with the stupid blade promises.

[00:49:39] We know it's not coming out.

[00:49:43] Now let's move over to the parks for a second.

[00:49:46] I'm really grateful to see the progress on Avengers Campus.

[00:49:50] Thanks for the bonus Iron Man ride.

[00:49:52] He's my favorite.

[00:49:55] Now, dropping and changing live acts because they unionized and you couldn't spare the couple extra bucks to make sure that we could get our web crawling, our wall crawling Spidey.

[00:50:07] That kind of sucked.

[00:50:09] Let's figure that out.

[00:50:11] Let's bring that back.

[00:50:12] Moving our attention over to Disney Plus.

[00:50:15] You're doing great there this year.

[00:50:18] Couple minor notes.

[00:50:19] First, let's try lowering the budgets a little bit and give us some longer seasons.

[00:50:27] Also, what if...

[00:50:29] What if didn't have to end?

[00:50:34] Seriously, this is some of your most interesting Marvel content.

[00:50:37] Maybe we just order some more.

[00:50:39] Don't make it end after three seasons.

[00:50:41] Oh, and put Iron Man 3 back on the holiday section.

[00:50:44] I'm personally offended by this choice.

[00:50:50] I'm not asking for much here, but I'm going to leave you with one last thought.

[00:50:55] Disney needs to take risks.

[00:50:58] I say this for the sake of all my fellow Disney fans and all of your acquired properties.

[00:51:04] Stop doing the sure thing.

[00:51:08] Make stuff weird.

[00:51:11] Oh, sure.

[00:51:12] Nuff said.

[00:51:13] RGH.

[00:51:14] P.S.

[00:51:15] Shut up the haters and bring back Carousel of Progress in Disneyland.

[00:51:20] I take it.

[00:51:23] Very good.

[00:51:24] Absolutely.

[00:51:25] Woo.

[00:51:26] Absolutely.

[00:51:27] Well, Santa Iger's got his work cut out for him.

[00:51:29] Yeah, he does.

[00:51:31] Man, we dropped to the lowest tier in Disney Plus with the ads.

[00:51:38] Unwatchable.

[00:51:38] Yeah, I went back up.

[00:51:40] Unwatchable.

[00:51:41] I experienced that for a little too long.

[00:51:43] Yeah.

[00:51:44] Like, what were we trying to watch?

[00:51:45] I was trying to watch, I think, Skeleton Crew, but we were trying to watch something, Taryn.

[00:51:49] Weren't we?

[00:51:49] Or something like that?

[00:51:50] Something was going on on Disney Plus.

[00:51:51] That was Hulu.

[00:51:53] Maybe it was Hulu.

[00:51:53] But it's kind of the same thing.

[00:51:55] Yeah.

[00:51:55] Yeah.

[00:51:55] Well, since they're integrated, they basically run the same ads at the same breaks with the

[00:51:59] same...

[00:51:59] A minute and a half.

[00:52:01] And you get like five breaks.

[00:52:03] Like, we're actually...

[00:52:04] What we do in the shadows.

[00:52:06] That one was...

[00:52:07] Yeah.

[00:52:07] It's like four breaks each break in a minute.

[00:52:10] It's a half hour show.

[00:52:11] Yeah.

[00:52:12] It's literally like a 27 minute show with a ton of breaks.

[00:52:16] And that's what they want to do.

[00:52:17] And I've been saying that forever.

[00:52:18] It's like, because they make more money on that.

[00:52:20] Oh, they do.

[00:52:20] Sure.

[00:52:20] Yeah.

[00:52:21] Yeah.

[00:52:21] And it's like, I just don't...

[00:52:23] I don't know, man.

[00:52:24] Whatever.

[00:52:25] God bless everybody who can sit through those.

[00:52:27] I would just rather not...

[00:52:29] I just don't even engage in it anymore.

[00:52:31] It's a little bit more...

[00:52:32] It's a little bit okay when it's like a network television show that has the breaks built in.

[00:52:38] Yes.

[00:52:38] So like, it doesn't interrupt the story.

[00:52:41] But if you're...

[00:52:42] I could imagine if you were watching Skeleton Crew or like Agatha All Along or something like

[00:52:45] that that doesn't have commercial breaks built in.

[00:52:49] Yeah.

[00:52:49] It's just like...

[00:52:50] Dude, I was trying to watch the movie.

[00:52:51] I was trying to watch a movie for Buena Vista Boys called...

[00:52:54] Actually, I should have invited Matt.

[00:52:56] Sorry, Matt.

[00:52:57] If you listen to this, which I know you don't, but that's okay.

[00:52:59] I sound cool.

[00:53:00] I was trying to watch a movie for that.

[00:53:02] It was Treasure of Matakumbe, which is our latest release.

[00:53:06] Commercial.

[00:53:07] Every time.

[00:53:08] Everywhere.

[00:53:08] All over the place.

[00:53:09] And on Disney Plus, I can't record the audio to like play on the podcast.

[00:53:13] So I had to like do it live and reconfigure it.

[00:53:16] And I'm trying to like find the right spot to play the sound clip for the segment I'm doing.

[00:53:22] Add.

[00:53:22] Oh no.

[00:53:23] You had to wait.

[00:53:24] You guys had to sit there and wait.

[00:53:25] Yes.

[00:53:26] Cool.

[00:53:27] Oh dude, it was painful.

[00:53:28] But you know, Iger saying it's finally profitable and Bob Chapek's ideal is coming to life.

[00:53:34] And I want everyone to remember that.

[00:53:36] All right.

[00:53:36] Well, very good, everybody.

[00:53:37] I really appreciate your time and the effort that you put into these letters.

[00:53:41] Hopefully Bob Iger's paying attention and will invoke some of these.

[00:53:45] And I really do want to, I keep saying this every year.

[00:53:48] I think we should print these out and mail them to him.

[00:53:53] That would be funny.

[00:53:54] Yeah.

[00:53:55] With like a signature required upon delivery.

[00:53:57] Oh my God.

[00:53:58] Like courier it.

[00:53:59] Rob's already got his ready.

[00:54:00] There you go, Bob.

[00:54:02] Yeah.

[00:54:03] It's all written right here on this piece of paper.

[00:54:05] Send him that.

[00:54:07] I printed mine too.

[00:54:08] Mine's ready.

[00:54:09] It just needs a signature.

[00:54:10] Hell yeah.

[00:54:11] All right.

[00:54:11] Let's take a quick break, everybody.

[00:54:13] We're going to say goodbye to Rob.

[00:54:14] We're going to reconfigure stuff.

[00:54:15] We're going to come back.

[00:54:16] We're going to do some news.

[00:54:17] Then we're going to get out of here.

[00:54:18] So hang on, everyone.

[00:54:19] It's ears up.

[00:54:20] We'll be right back.

[00:54:25] Back to ears up where the opinions never stop.

[00:54:29] Ever.

[00:54:31] All right.

[00:54:31] Thanks for sticking around, everybody.

[00:54:33] It's news time.

[00:54:35] Well, I guess I should say I got to turn this down.

[00:54:37] And while I dig around for the news intro, I want to remind you guys about the 21st Amendment.

[00:54:43] If you're looking for some tasty beers, but you're tired of these sort of like the winter beers.

[00:54:49] Used to call them the winter warmers.

[00:54:51] We were talking about this on another show I do called Dr. Homebrew.

[00:54:56] And like winter warmers used to be the thing where like when you're talking about holiday beers or winter beers,

[00:55:00] it was like big, malty, high alcohol, sometimes spiced, sometimes not.

[00:55:08] And, you know, that kind of like fell out of favor in the early 2000s.

[00:55:13] And so now it's just sort of like special beers or beers that you can enjoy by the fire.

[00:55:18] You can, you know, whatever.

[00:55:19] Right.

[00:55:19] Because we kind of drink different kinds of beers during the season.

[00:55:21] So if you're looking for something like that, it's Hell or High Twilight from 21st Amendment.

[00:55:26] Check that out.

[00:55:27] It's a, it's a, there's a nice malt characteristic to it, but there's a bright citrus note as well.

[00:55:32] That'll carry you through that can sort of refresh your palate at the same time.

[00:55:36] So if you're going to a party and you know, people are going to, there's going to be beer nerds.

[00:55:39] They're like, I like Jubilee Ale from Deschutes because I like the weirdest flavors.

[00:55:45] Bring some of this stuff.

[00:55:46] It's going to lighten everybody up.

[00:55:48] It's going to lighten your palate up and you can hang out for a little bit more and you can taste,

[00:55:51] you know, different stuff that way.

[00:55:53] And I appreciate that.

[00:55:54] So 21st Amendment.

[00:55:56] Check them out.

[00:55:57] If you're in the Bay Area, hit up their main brewery in San Leandro and then go to,

[00:56:02] with a place where it all started in San Francisco at 563 2nd Street,

[00:56:06] just two blocks from Giant Stadium where baseball is seen and played.

[00:56:10] And they both, both places have food.

[00:56:11] Both places are wonderful.

[00:56:12] Both, both places are very different as well.

[00:56:14] And if you're coming to San Leandro, let us know.

[00:56:17] We might meet you out there.

[00:56:18] But not San Francisco because that costs like $100 to get across that stupid bridge.

[00:56:23] I don't even know what it costs now.

[00:56:25] Is it like 12 bucks?

[00:56:25] No, I think it's eight.

[00:56:26] And I think it's going up.

[00:56:28] It's going up a dollar.

[00:56:28] No, it was eight when I lived there.

[00:56:30] It is way more than eight now.

[00:56:32] It's eight to go across the Antioch.

[00:56:33] I think it's 10 now.

[00:56:34] I think it's 10.

[00:56:35] I'm not doing it.

[00:56:36] There's a lot of cool stuff in San Francisco.

[00:56:38] I don't know now.

[00:56:38] And that's great.

[00:56:39] But I'm not paying 10 bucks to go across and get my car broken into.

[00:56:42] I'm sorry.

[00:56:43] I mean, that is what happens.

[00:56:46] Gosh.

[00:56:48] That's city, man.

[00:56:51] It's a special place.

[00:56:53] I've never been.

[00:56:53] It's awesome.

[00:56:54] You've never been.

[00:56:55] It's.

[00:56:56] You got to go.

[00:56:57] There's a lot of cool stuff.

[00:56:58] The Walt Disney Family Museum rules.

[00:57:00] Yes.

[00:57:01] Look, San Francisco is 150, 200 years old.

[00:57:04] It's an amazing city.

[00:57:05] It's a great city.

[00:57:06] There's a lot of cool stuff.

[00:57:08] But there's just like any major metropolitan area, there's a problem.

[00:57:11] But the main problem with San Francisco is the people who live outside of it can't afford to go to it.

[00:57:19] So you're sort of like literally on an island.

[00:57:21] And it's like it's hard.

[00:57:23] That's why I haven't been in forever.

[00:57:25] Like pre-pandemic stuff.

[00:57:26] Like I'm not paying.

[00:57:27] When I decided to stop going with seven bucks to cross the Bay Bridge.

[00:57:31] I just don't want to do that.

[00:57:32] Oh, I guess it is.

[00:57:33] It's going to be $8.

[00:57:35] I'm actually really surprised.

[00:57:36] I thought it was at least 10 by now.

[00:57:38] It's 100 now.

[00:57:40] Oh, maybe I'm thinking the Golden Gate.

[00:57:42] All right.

[00:57:43] I can't find the news music.

[00:57:45] So we're doing this.

[00:57:46] Join us as we unravel the magic behind some of Disney's most beloved pieces of music.

[00:57:51] It's Spectro Time.

[00:57:52] That's not right.

[00:57:54] Poor Jeremy.

[00:57:57] Why poor Jeremy?

[00:57:58] Because he's not here for his own song.

[00:58:00] He shouldn't have left the show.

[00:58:03] Well, he still has Spectro Times, he said.

[00:58:05] He does.

[00:58:06] He needs to come back on.

[00:58:07] Jeremy, if you ever listen to this, which I know you don't.

[00:58:10] I love you.

[00:58:12] All right.

[00:58:13] Let's do some news.

[00:58:15] All right.

[00:58:20] This is from Vulture.

[00:58:21] It says, subscribers were overwhelmed.

[00:58:23] How Disney finally made its streaming business profitable.

[00:58:29] Okay.

[00:58:29] Were they overwhelmed?

[00:58:31] I know, right?

[00:58:31] That's a direct quote.

[00:58:33] Sounds like they need some like CBD oil or something.

[00:58:35] Like if that overwhelms them.

[00:58:37] Yeah.

[00:58:38] Yeah.

[00:58:38] But in August, that exact figure of $47 million annually.

[00:58:43] I don't know what's going on here.

[00:58:44] Um, the first ever quarterly profit by Disney's streaming business.

[00:58:48] After racking up more than $10 billion of losses over the last half decade.

[00:58:54] First of all, half decade.

[00:58:55] You can't say five years.

[00:58:58] Half decade.

[00:58:59] Like it makes you.

[00:59:00] Yeah.

[00:59:01] It makes it sound like it's.

[00:59:02] I know, right?

[00:59:03] That's what I thought first.

[00:59:04] I'm like, wait a minute.

[00:59:05] That's a long.

[00:59:05] Five years.

[00:59:07] Oh yeah.

[00:59:09] Just say five years.

[00:59:10] Uh, 2024 was the year Disney finally started making money from its digital platforms, turning

[00:59:16] the corner in what's been an exceedingly difficult effort to reinvent itself for the

[00:59:20] Netflix era.

[00:59:23] Excuse me.

[00:59:24] Obviously painful cost cutting and staff reductions along with multiple increases in subscription

[00:59:28] prices played a big role in reversing the sea of red ink at Disney streaming.

[00:59:33] And while August's $47 million profit was followed in November by an even more impressive

[00:59:39] quarterly gain of $321 million, the company still has a ways to go to make up for all the

[00:59:45] debt it took on in launching Disney plus.

[00:59:51] Um, and then it just kind of goes into detail, but, uh, yeah, basically that article is, uh,

[00:59:55] Disney plus is finally profitable and, and, and, and things are looking up at the streaming

[00:59:59] service.

[01:00:01] Woo.

[01:00:02] Hooray.

[01:00:04] That's good for them, I guess.

[01:00:06] I mean, whatever.

[01:00:06] Yeah.

[01:00:06] I mean, you know, you want everything to be profitable and they have a lot of good content on there,

[01:00:10] which is great.

[01:00:11] Um, you don't want it to, you know, die down, but I just, I, I dislike it when corporations

[01:00:17] as a cost cutting effort decide to fire people.

[01:00:21] It just always feels bad to me.

[01:00:23] Like there's got, there's other ways to do that.

[01:00:25] I think I would guess, I don't know, maybe not.

[01:00:28] That's why I'm a podcaster without a job.

[01:00:30] It's the easy way.

[01:00:32] Yeah.

[01:00:32] That's the quickest way.

[01:00:33] Yeah.

[01:00:33] And it just feels, it just feels bad to me.

[01:00:36] And maybe I'm a bleeding heart liberal, but like, it just, it feels bad.

[01:00:40] So like, I really wish that there were other ways to, to, to dance around and then at least

[01:00:44] when it's, when it's profitable, you're less likely to do that.

[01:00:47] Right.

[01:00:48] They're less likely.

[01:00:49] Well, sure.

[01:00:49] Because you, because you have the amount of sustainable employees, like hopefully they'll

[01:00:53] hire back.

[01:00:54] And I know that's just the job market, but, um, here's some good news.

[01:00:58] You guys like bluey.

[01:01:00] Love bluey.

[01:01:02] Bluey's the best.

[01:01:04] Well, apparently bluey is joining Disney experiences at its us theme parks and cruise lines beginning

[01:01:09] next year.

[01:01:10] Really?

[01:01:11] Yeah.

[01:01:12] And there's a bluey movie come out, coming out, I think in 26, 20.

[01:01:16] Yes.

[01:01:17] 27, 27.

[01:01:18] 27.

[01:01:19] Yeah.

[01:01:19] Yeah.

[01:01:19] I'm actually more excited about seeing bluey.

[01:01:22] Oh dude.

[01:01:23] For real life.

[01:01:23] That's awesome.

[01:01:24] Yeah.

[01:01:24] Yeah.

[01:01:24] For real life.

[01:01:26] Disney experiences today announced that bluey, the beloved Emmy winning animated series

[01:01:30] will join Disneyland resort in California and Walt Disney world resort in Florida on

[01:01:35] land and sea cruise line at sea beginning January, 2020.

[01:01:39] 25 on board Disney cruise line voyages originating from Australia and New Zealand.

[01:01:44] Okay.

[01:01:45] Here's the thing.

[01:01:46] I think they're tired of it.

[01:01:48] They, I don't think people in Australia, I mean, they have, they already have a bluey

[01:01:52] theme park.

[01:01:52] You know what I mean?

[01:01:53] Put that, put that freak in from like, you know, taken off from Miami or whatever.

[01:02:00] Anyway, whatever.

[01:02:01] Sorry.

[01:02:01] Uh, families.

[01:02:02] I don't know if the Australians are on the cruise as much though.

[01:02:04] It originates from Australia.

[01:02:06] I don't know.

[01:02:07] Yeah.

[01:02:07] The, the wonder goes down there for like three months and it gets up.

[01:02:12] Families can.

[01:02:13] Okay.

[01:02:13] Families can interact with bluey and her sister.

[01:02:16] Bingo.

[01:02:16] Like never before.

[01:02:17] Yes.

[01:02:18] That's the thing.

[01:02:18] It took me.

[01:02:19] I don't know how many episodes it took me to realize that bluey was not a boy.

[01:02:24] Well, and I think we even had a fight with that.

[01:02:25] Oh my God.

[01:02:27] She yells that in an episode.

[01:02:29] But, um, yeah.

[01:02:32] I took a big drink of this winter warmer at 9.8%.

[01:02:36] That was not, I thought it was my homebrew.

[01:02:39] I thought it was this beer, this beer that I made.

[01:02:41] That's like, it's okay.

[01:02:42] It's a brown ale.

[01:02:43] It's fine.

[01:02:45] Oops.

[01:02:46] Yeah.

[01:02:46] I'm like, oh, this is banana.

[01:02:47] Oh yeah.

[01:02:48] Okay.

[01:02:49] Uh, from special meet and greets to an interactive.

[01:02:52] I mean, it didn't chug it.

[01:02:53] You know what I mean?

[01:02:53] I'll be fine.

[01:02:54] Sure.

[01:02:55] From a special meet and greet to interactive and clue filled game that ends in a dance

[01:03:00] party featuring bluey signature moves.

[01:03:03] Families in the region can embark on a magical holiday with their favorite blue healer.

[01:03:08] That sounds cool.

[01:03:09] It sounds like, well, and I think his favorite move is flossing.

[01:03:12] It's the floss dance.

[01:03:13] Yeah.

[01:03:14] The producers of bluey are working closely alongside BBC studios and Disney on a number

[01:03:20] of special activations for fans to enjoy.

[01:03:22] What's a special activation?

[01:03:24] Yeah.

[01:03:25] Details about how guests can meet bluey and her family at the, the, the domestic parks

[01:03:29] will be shared in the months ahead.

[01:03:31] I bet that was supposed to say activities.

[01:03:34] Activation.

[01:03:35] Is there a new corporate speak for like when you run into somebody really?

[01:03:40] Yeah.

[01:03:40] Yeah.

[01:03:41] So at a convention or at a mall.

[01:03:43] How does that relate?

[01:03:44] That word doesn't work.

[01:03:45] We need a meeting to discuss the tensions around potential activation.

[01:03:50] Yeah.

[01:03:51] Activation.

[01:03:52] Like that is weird.

[01:03:53] That's a weird use of that word.

[01:03:55] I don't like it.

[01:03:56] I don't like it either.

[01:03:57] The announcement comes as part of a major expansion of the Walt Disney company's global relationship

[01:04:01] with BBC studios for bluey.

[01:04:02] The new deal sees Disney acquiring the global theatrical rights for the film, which will

[01:04:07] be produced by Ludo studios in collaboration with the BBC and which will land in cinemas

[01:04:12] in 2027 under the Disney banner.

[01:04:17] Can I say, I, I kind of wish that they were just doing another season as opposed to a movie.

[01:04:24] And that was the other interesting part of this announcement that a lot of people are glazing

[01:04:28] over is the directors leaving.

[01:04:30] He's not doing, he's only doing the movie.

[01:04:33] Joe Brom is only doing the movie.

[01:04:36] He's, he announced in this same announcement that he will not do any more TV because his commitment

[01:04:41] was if I don't feel like I can make a better season, like the next season better, I'm not

[01:04:47] doing it.

[01:04:48] And he feels like he, he's done.

[01:04:51] See, integrity and entertainment is, is, uh, is annoying, but it's, it's, it's a skill

[01:04:57] that not everybody has.

[01:04:58] Yeah.

[01:04:59] I mean, imagine how good like lost would have been if someone had said that, you know,

[01:05:03] we're like, I can't do any better than this.

[01:05:05] I'm sorry.

[01:05:06] I'm going to leave, you know, or 24 or anything, any long running series, like stop.

[01:05:11] Dude, this is done, which, but also you, if, if the, if the content is still quality, keep

[01:05:19] going, like what we do in the shadows, like you can't tell me that the first season and

[01:05:23] the fourth season are any different.

[01:05:24] Really keep going.

[01:05:26] You don't need to end it.

[01:05:27] You know, I don't want it to end.

[01:05:30] But maybe, maybe that they arrived at the same conclusion.

[01:05:33] See, the stuff that I like, Eric, I, I want it to stay, but if it's stuff that sucks,

[01:05:37] I want it to leave.

[01:05:40] Yeah.

[01:05:40] Yeah.

[01:05:40] I, I love a blue.

[01:05:41] I'm excited for a blue movie because like, what are their episodes?

[01:05:46] Like eight minutes.

[01:05:47] They are.

[01:05:47] Yeah.

[01:05:47] And that sucks too.

[01:05:49] I hate it.

[01:05:50] Or like, really?

[01:05:50] This is cute.

[01:05:52] But it's the perfect, it's the perfect amount of time to be that cute.

[01:05:56] It couldn't be that cute if it was a half hour show.

[01:05:59] Yeah.

[01:05:59] Their, their little 20 minute episode was great.

[01:06:03] It was perfect.

[01:06:04] That was a good amount.

[01:06:05] And it was a little bit longer.

[01:06:06] It was a good amount.

[01:06:07] Yeah.

[01:06:08] I'm trying to think an hour and 20 minutes, even an hour and 10 minutes.

[01:06:11] Cause I imagine it's kind of a short movie.

[01:06:12] Cause it's for kids.

[01:06:14] Um, seems like a lot of bluey.

[01:06:17] Seems like a lot of bluey.

[01:06:18] Ludo studio says, quote, it's a lovely day to go boat riding.

[01:06:21] And we're incredibly excited that bluey and bingo will be sailing on Disney cruises.

[01:06:26] Yeah.

[01:06:27] Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

[01:06:28] I do love that.

[01:06:29] There's going to be bluey characters.

[01:06:30] That is, that's fantastic.

[01:06:32] Dude.

[01:06:32] I think it's going to be awesome.

[01:06:34] Um, bluey is 2024 is most watched series globally on Disney plus in the years.

[01:06:39] Number one, most watched series on streaming to date through November.

[01:06:43] Wow.

[01:06:44] With more than 50.5 billion minutes watched, which is, I don't have to tell you the math

[01:06:52] on that is 842 million hours.

[01:06:55] Wow.

[01:06:56] I can tell you this household has put a lot of those on.

[01:07:00] Yeah.

[01:07:01] Yeah.

[01:07:02] This one too.

[01:07:02] Same brother.

[01:07:04] Dang.

[01:07:05] That's a, that's a lot.

[01:07:07] Um, sticking with, I haven't read this at all, but it's, it's like all over when Disney

[01:07:13] news stuff.

[01:07:14] So I had to talk about it at least to, to, to mention it.

[01:07:16] And it's not something that I need to like get involved in, but it's from a Hollywood

[01:07:20] reporter.

[01:07:20] Disney pulls transgender storyline from Pixar's win or lose streaming series exclusive.

[01:07:27] This is an original animated show about a co-ed high school team, uh, debuting on Disney

[01:07:34] plus in February.

[01:07:36] The series follows a co-ed middle school softball team named the pickles in the week leading

[01:07:42] up to their championship game.

[01:07:44] Each of the eight episodes center on the off the field life of a character and their point

[01:07:49] of view, whether it be a player, a parent, a coach, or an umpire.

[01:07:53] A spokesperson for Disney confirmed that the story arc was removed and provided the following

[01:07:59] statement to the Hollywood reporter quote, when it comes to animated content for a younger

[01:08:03] audience, we recognize that many parents would prefer to discuss certain subjects with

[01:08:07] their children on their own terms and timelines.

[01:08:10] The character remains in the show, but a few lines of dialogue that reference gender identity

[01:08:15] are being removed.

[01:08:16] A source close to win or lose said the studio made the decision to alter course several months

[01:08:21] ago.

[01:08:21] There's declined to comment in, uh, any further.

[01:08:25] Um, that's basically, yeah, that's basically it.

[01:08:31] So, you know, they make a point at the bottom.

[01:08:32] It says they've continued to feature LGBTQ plus content and it's more adult focused fair.

[01:08:39] Um, I guess they just made this call cause it's for younger audience and the character

[01:08:44] is still in.

[01:08:45] So I guess I wanted to say it because looking at the headlines, you would think they cut

[01:08:48] the whole entire storyline and there's like a quote from the actor, uh, actress and she,

[01:08:53] they, I don't know if it's a transgender person who does the voice or whatever, but the,

[01:08:58] the actor was like, Oh, I'm disappointed.

[01:09:01] So that I thought they just cut the entire thing, but they just cut a couple lines and

[01:09:06] I don't know.

[01:09:07] I don't know where to fall on that.

[01:09:08] I think it's fine.

[01:09:09] Yeah.

[01:09:09] I mean, I, I want to be, um, real mad.

[01:09:15] You do.

[01:09:15] I do, but, um, it doesn't, I mean, it, a couple of things I think, um, it probably sounds

[01:09:23] okay.

[01:09:24] Um, it sounds like they, they're just taking out the, um, explanation maybe.

[01:09:31] Yeah.

[01:09:32] And I guess that's okay.

[01:09:34] Um, I hope that they keep something in that.

[01:09:38] It, because obviously it was in there for a purpose, right.

[01:09:43] To, to, um, for representation, let's say.

[01:09:48] So I hope at least there's, there's something kept in the film that might make a child, um,

[01:09:55] ask a question.

[01:09:57] And so that this discussion that they're saying that parents would want to have with their kids,

[01:10:01] then they could have that with their kids instead of just taking it all out and pretending

[01:10:05] it doesn't exist.

[01:10:06] Yeah.

[01:10:06] Yeah.

[01:10:08] Yeah, for sure.

[01:10:08] That's the hard part.

[01:10:09] It's like, you know, I wouldn't relish being a content creator in that kind of space right

[01:10:16] now, because what do you do?

[01:10:18] Right?

[01:10:18] Like you want to leave it to the parents because what age is appropriate to talk about stuff

[01:10:23] like that?

[01:10:23] That's up to the parents, but you'd also know how to hide it because then it's like,

[01:10:28] then it's not a shame.

[01:10:29] Then it's a shameful thing.

[01:10:30] And it's not, it's just, it's a thing.

[01:10:32] It's just, it's the reality that we have and it's been that way for centuries, but we're

[01:10:38] just now available to be able to open up and talk about it.

[01:10:42] Yeah.

[01:10:42] Which I think is good, but the parents do have a responsibility to field those questions and

[01:10:48] not get it, not get that conversation forced upon them by Disney if they're not ready to

[01:10:53] have that conversation with their child.

[01:10:55] But on the other hand, there's also a lot of parents who will, who refuse to have, there's

[01:11:01] probably half of American parents refuse to have that conversation.

[01:11:05] And so they might have kids who need that conversation.

[01:11:08] And so then there does need to be representation.

[01:11:10] It's so confusing.

[01:11:12] Well, and I think the, the thing is, is there no one's forcing them to watch the show,

[01:11:17] right?

[01:11:17] That is true.

[01:11:18] Like at the end of the day, no one's forcing them to watch the show.

[01:11:23] So if they don't want to have the conversation, then just don't watch the show.

[01:11:26] Right.

[01:11:27] Right.

[01:11:27] And maybe this is one of those situations where you're, the kid wants to watch the show.

[01:11:32] You want to watch the show with the kid, but you heard this thing's going on.

[01:11:34] Skip the episode.

[01:11:35] You could do that too.

[01:11:37] Or just, I mean, I remember my parents skipping episodes with, you know, sex in it when I

[01:11:43] was a kid and they're like, oh, this is a very special episode of blossom.

[01:11:46] You kids can't watch this one for mom and dad to watch later.

[01:11:50] Yeah.

[01:11:51] I think, um, you know, just to put a finer point on it, I guess, like, you know, we're

[01:11:58] pretty open parents.

[01:12:00] Like we're, you know, we'll, we'll, we're not going to hide anything from Alice, but

[01:12:04] I would be a little ticked off if like, you know, the teacher was like, here, here's the

[01:12:08] thing about this topic, transgender or religion, whatever, any, whatever it is.

[01:12:13] If we're not ready to have that conversation with her, then it's like, now I'm forced to

[01:12:17] do this thing that I don't think that my, not that I don't think my kid is ready for,

[01:12:21] but that I just, it's out of the blue.

[01:12:23] It's like, whoa, what, where did this come from?

[01:12:24] You need to prepare.

[01:12:26] You need to prepare for stuff.

[01:12:27] And as a, as a parent and like, so I don't know it, you know, I ultimately like, I agree

[01:12:32] with you, Taryn, if it, as long as like the core of the, of the, the character is still

[01:12:37] there and it's not fundamentally really changing too much, they just maybe soften it a little

[01:12:41] bit.

[01:12:42] I don't know.

[01:12:43] I don't, I don't care.

[01:12:45] It's fine.

[01:12:45] Yeah.

[01:12:46] I love it.

[01:12:46] Well, and I think to your point, there, there's a very good example of like this happened

[01:12:51] in a, in a much more silly way, but like Alice came home and her teacher is hiding

[01:12:55] an elf.

[01:12:56] Oh my God.

[01:12:57] Frigging elf on the shelf.

[01:12:58] We're not an elf house.

[01:13:00] We're not an elf on the shelf people.

[01:13:01] And so she goes, where's our elf?

[01:13:03] And I go, we don't believe in that.

[01:13:06] She goes, well, what are you like?

[01:13:08] Unprepared.

[01:13:09] Literally her, her, her explanation was I've seen it at, at my school and my teacher told

[01:13:15] me that it washes everybody and make sure they're good.

[01:13:19] And so what I've had to do and what we've had to do, but I lead the charge on it is like,

[01:13:24] I don't believe in good kids and bad kids.

[01:13:27] There's good decisions and bad decisions.

[01:13:28] Cause she was like, she'd get broken up.

[01:13:31] You know, the kids have favorite parenting book is like the wonder weeks book.

[01:13:35] And it basically is like, it highlights, you know, there's a few points that you can kind

[01:13:38] of schedule in a child's developmental career that, that they, your brains just get scrambled.

[01:13:44] But after where they're either elevated emotionally, but then afterwards they either learn a new

[01:13:50] thing or they put sentence, the sentences together more, their thought is more thing.

[01:13:53] And it's like, that's the time of chaos for the brain to kind of like freak out and coagulate

[01:13:59] a little bit more.

[01:14:00] And then some skill will, will happen, find motor skills or whatever.

[01:14:03] So she like freaks out sometimes about like, am I a good kid?

[01:14:07] Is Santa going to think I'm on the good list?

[01:14:09] And I'm like, bro, there is no good and bad list.

[01:14:11] That's just stuff that people say you are a great kid.

[01:14:14] Sometimes we may all make bad choices, but you're not going to, you know, I want you

[01:14:18] to, to want to be good because you want to be good.

[01:14:20] Not because you think you're going to get presents.

[01:14:22] Yeah.

[01:14:23] It's just not, it's not how it works.

[01:14:24] And I hate that, but yeah, the elf on the show.

[01:14:27] And so she did with the elf on the show.

[01:14:28] Where is it?

[01:14:29] It took her like three days to figure out or forget about.

[01:14:31] We don't do that.

[01:14:33] Yeah.

[01:14:35] It was, it was tough, but that does happen.

[01:14:38] There, there are these things that pop up and you got to talk about them.

[01:14:41] And like there, there are transgender and non-binary people in our lives.

[01:14:45] So Ted has grown up like in that.

[01:14:50] And so we will probably have that conversation at a much earlier age than I think people who

[01:14:56] aren't necessarily directly connected to folks of those, you know, of those communities with

[01:15:02] that hold those identities.

[01:15:03] And so I, I do hope that this movie or that the show has like still highlights the identity

[01:15:10] without, like you say, maybe it's softer.

[01:15:13] Maybe it's not, you know.

[01:15:15] So inclusivity is great, but there, I, you know, I do not to lean too far, right.

[01:15:23] But, you know, there, there, I think that is a responsibility of parents to, to bring

[01:15:27] that, you know, to bring certain things up at certain ages.

[01:15:30] Cause not every child is ready for that.

[01:15:31] And not every parent is ready for that.

[01:15:33] And you know, whatever, whatever works.

[01:15:36] Anyway, that's, that's what's happening.

[01:15:37] So if you read anything, any headline or whatever, don't freak out too much.

[01:15:41] They just took out a couple of lines, but the character is still there.

[01:15:43] And I'm sure that I'm sure Disney will still do a fine job of writing that line and what

[01:15:47] good or bad or otherwise, like, anyway, that's what happened.

[01:15:52] Um, onto darker news, worse news, Disney and universal patents reveal new rides in development.

[01:15:58] I was just kidding.

[01:15:59] That was a joke guys.

[01:16:00] Oh, well, that's good news.

[01:16:01] Yeah.

[01:16:02] Theme park companies are constantly pushing the boundaries of innovation and newly published

[01:16:06] patents offer a glimpse into the future ride systems and technologies being developed by

[01:16:11] Disney and universal.

[01:16:14] Um, among the concepts are rider controlled motion, automated gate systems, real time object

[01:16:24] handoff.

[01:16:25] That seems interesting to me.

[01:16:26] I wouldn't just, you could imagine like being in a ride car with like a track.

[01:16:31] This ride system is like move a ball from like one car to another, maybe or something.

[01:16:35] I don't know.

[01:16:36] That sounds chaotic.

[01:16:37] And a multi-directional round ride system.

[01:16:41] That I'd.

[01:16:42] Direction.

[01:16:43] Oh, you mean like Jurassic world?

[01:16:45] I mean, I guess.

[01:16:46] Oh, like a, like the ball.

[01:16:49] That'd be cool.

[01:16:49] Yeah.

[01:16:49] That's what I'm thinking.

[01:16:50] Oh, like you're in like a, like one of those demon balls or they go see it.

[01:16:54] Oh, I see it.

[01:16:55] So it's like, um, remember.

[01:16:57] Okay.

[01:16:58] A gyroscope.

[01:16:59] And, um, only true film, you know, cinematic evangelicals will, uh, will remember this,

[01:17:07] but remember in Beverly Hills cop three when Axel Foley is at great America basically.

[01:17:13] And it's on that.

[01:17:14] He's on that octopus kind of ride jumping around.

[01:17:18] Anyone?

[01:17:19] Damn.

[01:17:20] Damn.

[01:17:21] No, I have not seen Beverly Hills cop three.

[01:17:24] That's rude.

[01:17:24] I think most haven't.

[01:17:26] Well, it's like that, but that, I think that's the round system or whatever.

[01:17:30] And it kind of moves around.

[01:17:31] I just looked at the patent.

[01:17:32] Anyway, there's new stuff coming out and I kind of like to highlight some of that.

[01:17:35] It's fun.

[01:17:36] Cool.

[01:17:37] But I can't read any more about it because the website's broken and it froze my computer.

[01:17:41] So we're done.

[01:17:45] There you go, man.

[01:17:47] Um, that's the end of that.

[01:17:50] Oh, geez, dude.

[01:17:52] Ew.

[01:17:52] I'm on Fox news.

[01:17:54] Gross.

[01:17:56] Um, this is a story about Disney vacations, push families into debt.

[01:18:01] Uh, but 59% say it's worth it.

[01:18:03] Disney world prices have jumped 3,500% since its opening in 1971.

[01:18:12] I mean, you would get a pretty decent percentage if you just went since 2000 or something like

[01:18:17] you don't have to go that far back to make a big splash.

[01:18:20] It wouldn't be 3,500, Taryn.

[01:18:23] Yeah.

[01:18:23] You know what I mean?

[01:18:24] Uh, let's talk about Christmas day programming on Disney plus.

[01:18:27] And there's a bunch of special stuff happening.

[01:18:29] Oh yeah.

[01:18:32] Um, they're competing because Netflix is, is doing like live football games.

[01:18:37] Yeah.

[01:18:38] Yeah.

[01:18:38] They got the two first time ever.

[01:18:40] It's weird.

[01:18:41] So this, this must be competition with Netflix.

[01:18:44] You know, Twitch is doing, um, football too.

[01:18:47] Really?

[01:18:47] Yeah.

[01:18:48] Weird.

[01:18:49] Yeah.

[01:18:49] I mean, Disney has ESPN on Disney plus now.

[01:18:52] So they've also got like hockey and football too.

[01:18:56] Yeah.

[01:18:56] It's funny you mentioned that Ryan.

[01:18:58] Um, on Christmas day, the offerings include five live NBA games.

[01:19:03] I wonder if, if you play sports like a professional sports on Christmas day, I wonder if you get

[01:19:08] a bonus.

[01:19:09] I wonder if it's like time and a half.

[01:19:10] Right.

[01:19:11] Exactly.

[01:19:11] It should be that you're, you're unionized.

[01:19:13] They're not hourly.

[01:19:14] They're not getting paid hourly.

[01:19:16] It's a, it's an annual salary.

[01:19:18] That's true.

[01:19:19] All right.

[01:19:20] See, I don't know, man.

[01:19:21] I've never been in a union.

[01:19:21] But they do probably get a Christmas bonus.

[01:19:23] I would get, I would guess.

[01:19:25] I don't know, man.

[01:19:26] You're, you're missing Christmas.

[01:19:28] Whatever.

[01:19:29] Anyway, it doesn't matter.

[01:19:30] Uh, five live NBA games and an animated dunk the halls alt cast available to all Disney

[01:19:38] plus subscribers.

[01:19:40] I don't know what an alt cast, like, like it's an alternative.

[01:19:43] It's the like animated broadcast where they like AR some sort of animated thing over the

[01:19:50] top.

[01:19:51] They did big city greens.

[01:19:52] They did.

[01:19:53] I think they did Simpsons at one point over a hockey game.

[01:19:57] Really?

[01:19:57] This is a thing.

[01:19:58] What?

[01:19:59] Yeah.

[01:19:59] They did over the Superbowl.

[01:20:02] I think one year where I saw, wasn't that last year?

[01:20:05] I think I saw clips of that on Tik TOK.

[01:20:07] Yeah.

[01:20:07] Oh, we're like, we're like SpongeBob talks about the game.

[01:20:11] They're doing that, but they're also doing where they like animate the game.

[01:20:14] So it looks like you're watching a video game like all that universe.

[01:20:18] Oh, I love that.

[01:20:19] Playing the game.

[01:20:20] That's so good.

[01:20:21] Playing whatever game.

[01:20:22] I might actually watch that.

[01:20:24] That sounds more exciting than an actual game.

[01:20:26] But it's basketball.

[01:20:27] Basketball inherently is boring.

[01:20:28] You say you love basketball, but we have watched it since the time we've lived together.

[01:20:34] Because you don't like it.

[01:20:35] But I keep telling you, I will go upstairs.

[01:20:37] Yeah, I know.

[01:20:38] And stare at the toilet as it flushes over and over again.

[01:20:41] Like I don't need to be in the same room with you all the time.

[01:20:43] You can watch basketball.

[01:20:45] But part of like for me, watching sports is fun to watch with people.

[01:20:50] It's not fun.

[01:20:51] I'm not going to just sit and watch basketball myself.

[01:20:53] Oh, see, I do.

[01:20:54] I sit and watch soccer all day.

[01:20:55] Yeah, I know.

[01:20:56] I enjoy soccer only when we're watching it together.

[01:21:00] I only enjoy like sports when there's somebody else to be there.

[01:21:05] When there's a man to tell you who to root for.

[01:21:06] Not just a man.

[01:21:07] To explain the game to you.

[01:21:09] No, move on.

[01:21:11] Okay.

[01:21:13] New premieres and episodes like the Doctor Who Christmas.

[01:21:15] I get this show confused sometimes with the secret show because I have a couple beers in front of me.

[01:21:19] And I'm like, hey, let's make a fun, a pretend ironic joke.

[01:21:23] No.

[01:21:24] New premieres and episodes like the Doctor Who Christmas special Joy to the World,

[01:21:28] Star Wars Skeleton Crew Episode 5,

[01:21:30] and Episode 4 of the new season of Marvel Animations What If.

[01:21:35] Then, of course, there's the annual Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade.

[01:21:39] And then they say beloved holiday classics featured in the Happy Holidays collection include Home Alone and the Santa Claus.

[01:21:46] Let me tell you, Home Alone I don't think is a very good movie.

[01:21:50] It's just fun.

[01:21:51] It's fun and it's nostalgic.

[01:21:53] Yeah, but like it's not.

[01:21:54] I think it has too much weight.

[01:21:56] Yeah, I'm sorry.

[01:21:57] What do you like?

[01:21:58] I think a Christmas story is a fundamentally better movie and deserves higher praise than Home Alone does.

[01:22:06] I disagree.

[01:22:07] I know.

[01:22:08] I think that Home Alone is, I think that they're very different movies.

[01:22:12] I don't really think you can compare them.

[01:22:14] I just did.

[01:22:14] But I will say if I had the option of only watching one ever again.

[01:22:19] Yeah, it would be a Christmas story.

[01:22:21] It would absolutely be Home Alone.

[01:22:22] No, you said that wrong.

[01:22:23] I don't actually care about the Christmas story.

[01:22:26] I could never see that again.

[01:22:28] It's a Christmas story.

[01:22:28] Exactly.

[01:22:29] It's not the.

[01:22:29] That's how much I care.

[01:22:31] Oh, man.

[01:22:32] I could never see that again.

[01:22:33] It's the better version of a Christmas story.

[01:22:36] Did you say Grape Ape Christmas?

[01:22:38] No, 8-Bit Christmas.

[01:22:39] Oh, okay.

[01:22:40] I watched Grape Ape Christmas earlier.

[01:22:42] It's a Christmas story but updated.

[01:22:43] So it's an NES instead of a Red Rider BB gun.

[01:22:48] Okay.

[01:22:48] That's fine.

[01:22:49] Disney Plus also features a memorable variety of festive shorts.

[01:22:54] These eight bite-sized treats are perfect for a cozy night.

[01:22:57] So you have Santa's Workshop from 1932 because all kids would be into that.

[01:23:03] Pluto's Christmas Tree, 1952.

[01:23:06] Prep and Landing from 2009.

[01:23:08] Ice Age, A Mammoth Christmas.

[01:23:11] Once Upon a Snowman.

[01:23:12] Mickey Saves Christmas.

[01:23:13] And Hot Frosty.

[01:23:15] Remember that?

[01:23:16] No.

[01:23:17] That's that new Netflix thirst trap for middle-aged women.

[01:23:25] Hot Frosty.

[01:23:27] Where this woman builds a snowman but she gives it abs and puts on her scarf and then he comes

[01:23:32] to life and scoops her off her feet.

[01:23:34] It's pretty amazing.

[01:23:35] It's a real thing.

[01:23:35] It's literally on Netflix right now.

[01:23:37] You can go watch it.

[01:23:39] Gone are the days of the Western sex novel for women.

[01:23:45] And now it's just Hot Frosty and like Hallmark movies.

[01:23:48] No, I'll tell you.

[01:23:49] Oh, they're not gone.

[01:23:50] Trust me.

[01:23:50] Those are all fake.

[01:23:52] The thirst trap for Christmas for women is the holiday.

[01:23:56] And it's because of Jude Law.

[01:23:58] He's coming back on this podcast.

[01:24:00] Damn.

[01:24:00] It's all about Jude Law.

[01:24:02] You watch that and you watch him look at the camera and he's looking at you and you.

[01:24:08] It's just a magical movie.

[01:24:10] I'm going to delete this from our Plex server.

[01:24:12] You can't ever watch it again.

[01:24:14] I already watched it.

[01:24:15] Well, it's already happened.

[01:24:17] It's done.

[01:24:18] Well, it is cool that they're putting the parade, the Disney parade up within an hour.

[01:24:24] Last year, it was a it wasn't up till Boxing Day.

[01:24:27] It wasn't up till the day after.

[01:24:28] Oh, damn.

[01:24:29] So this year, like at least it's a there.

[01:24:31] It's on ABC and then a year and then an hour later, it's on Disney Plus, which is nice.

[01:24:36] That is good.

[01:24:37] And it would be great to watch it without all the commercials.

[01:24:41] Yeah, for sure.

[01:24:41] Well, you got to pay for that premium.

[01:24:45] I do.

[01:24:46] I got two more stories and then we're done here.

[01:24:49] What is not necessarily great?

[01:24:50] Well, I guess it is a good one.

[01:24:52] It depends on your outlook.

[01:24:53] Disney settles California's largest wage theft suit for two hundred and thirty three million

[01:24:59] dollars.

[01:25:00] And we have said on this show countless numbers of time.

[01:25:02] Disneyland would not be Disneyland without the cast members.

[01:25:05] Absolutely.

[01:25:06] I mean, and that's just fundamental, but like also just from an environmental standpoint and

[01:25:12] the magic, for lack of a better word, that these cast members bring to people on a daily

[01:25:16] basis.

[01:25:17] And it just wouldn't be the same without the people who operate the parks.

[01:25:20] And Disney forever has been just dumping on these people and not giving them enough.

[01:25:25] And finally, finally, they've had it.

[01:25:28] And it marks the resolution of the largest wage theft lawsuit in forever.

[01:25:33] However, the word Disney and Disneyland will be tied together with the words wage theft lawsuit.

[01:25:40] And I kind of kind of think that's funny.

[01:25:43] The legal battle first started all the way back in 2019.

[01:25:47] Over 25,000 workers sued Disney, alleging that the company ignored Anaheim's minimum wage laws.

[01:25:54] The law named Measure L requires companies receiving city tax rebates to raise their minimum

[01:26:00] wage to fifteen dollars an hour.

[01:26:03] Disney failed to do that despite benefiting from a tax rebate linked to a 1996 expansion

[01:26:08] deal.

[01:26:08] The settlement will provide back pay to workers stemming back to 2019.

[01:26:13] That figure amounts to around $105 million with interest.

[01:26:17] The agreement affects more than 50,000 current and former Disney employees.

[01:26:23] The decision will be reviewed by an Orange County Superior Court judge on January 17th for

[01:26:29] final approval.

[01:26:30] The whole dispute really started back in February of 2018.

[01:26:33] The Coalition of Resort Labor Unions released the results of a study that showed almost three

[01:26:38] quarters of Disney workers interviewed for the survey said they did not earn enough money

[01:26:43] to cover their basic expenses.

[01:26:45] The result of the study led to a lawsuit which led to a victory for Disney's underpaid workers.

[01:26:50] The minimum wage in Florida is $12 an hour.

[01:26:55] I couldn't imagine.

[01:26:57] So kudos to them.

[01:26:59] You know what I mean?

[01:26:59] I love that for them.

[01:27:01] It sucks that a place we enjoy had to be taken to court to provide proper to just obey the

[01:27:07] laws.

[01:27:08] Yeah.

[01:27:08] But hopefully moving forward and you know we're at a time where like where the workforce

[01:27:12] is really just kind of fighting back.

[01:27:15] I mean Amazon workers today I think just finalized a union.

[01:27:19] They're unionizing.

[01:27:20] Yeah.

[01:27:21] Oh they got it.

[01:27:23] Yeah.

[01:27:23] And it's so I don't know it's a new like kind of workforce revolution here.

[01:27:28] That is.

[01:27:28] That's a true workers fighting back.

[01:27:31] I don't think this Disney one is.

[01:27:32] I think this is lawyers.

[01:27:33] This is a class action lawsuit that somebody got a hold of their paychecks and found an

[01:27:38] error and then the employees won.

[01:27:40] I don't.

[01:27:41] This is not Disney being nice.

[01:27:42] No it's not Disney.

[01:27:43] No of course not.

[01:27:44] No because I mean they got taken to court.

[01:27:46] Right.

[01:27:46] It's also.

[01:27:47] It's not them.

[01:27:48] I don't think it's that bad or like oh it's because I know you I know your view on it.

[01:27:52] I know you talk about all the time.

[01:27:54] I don't think it's like that.

[01:27:55] I think that they were like hey you need to follow the law.

[01:27:57] There's a specific law that says you owe us this money and they said no we don't.

[01:28:02] I think it's different than like let's see what we can find in your paycheck steps.

[01:28:05] Well that may be true but still if it's a class action the lawyers are getting half

[01:28:08] of that money.

[01:28:10] It's just it.

[01:28:11] Well I think that's why it's 233 million and that article specifically says the workers

[01:28:16] won 105 million.

[01:28:19] The rest it goes.

[01:28:20] I mean I'm sure you're right.

[01:28:21] The rest goes to the lawyers which.

[01:28:23] It just bugs me because it's like yes they won but also it's there's two villains here.

[01:28:28] It's the lawyers and they mean they won it for them but also.

[01:28:33] That's not that altruistic.

[01:28:35] It's always with it's it's like when millionaires you know donate to charity.

[01:28:39] It's like $500 to charity.

[01:28:41] You're not doing it because you want to.

[01:28:44] You're doing it to get a tax write-off like stop it dude.

[01:28:47] Come on.

[01:28:47] All right.

[01:28:48] Last but not least and then we're gonna get out of here.

[01:28:49] Disney plus subscribers on Disney Cruise Line offer 50% off for children tickets for children

[01:28:58] so they're tickets for adults but they're children tickets.

[01:29:01] I'm kidding.

[01:29:02] I didn't know that they had children tickets for Cruise Line.

[01:29:06] I don't know.

[01:29:07] They don't have much of a discount for a child.

[01:29:09] I've been pricing another cruise and if we add Ted it's about adding another.

[01:29:14] I'm surprised that the actor Terry Crews doesn't have his own themed cruise called Terry

[01:29:19] Crews but spelled C-R-U-I-S-E.

[01:29:22] Yeah.

[01:29:23] You know?

[01:29:24] He should.

[01:29:24] He really should.

[01:29:25] There's a lot of like celebrity you know cruises or whatever.

[01:29:28] I think that'd be really funny for him.

[01:29:29] It would be.

[01:29:30] Thank you.

[01:29:31] Disney has announced that Disney plus subscribers can.

[01:29:34] Okay.

[01:29:34] This is from MSN.com and I would bet that this is AI generated from some other site because

[01:29:41] I'm going to read it exactly how it is.

[01:29:43] Okay.

[01:29:44] Disney has announced that Disney plus subscribers can 50% off for kids on select Disney Cruise

[01:29:51] Lines sailings.

[01:29:54] Woo.

[01:29:55] Yep.

[01:29:57] Somebody forgot to edit.

[01:29:58] Yeah.

[01:29:58] They definitely fed chat GPT the press release and with the purchase of two full fair guests

[01:30:04] two kids under 18 can sail for half price as long as everyone stays in the same stateroom.

[01:30:13] This offer applies to the Disney Wish, Disney Dream, and Disney Wonder cruise ships.

[01:30:18] Subscribers can book up to two staterooms.

[01:30:20] However, each room must have two full priced adult guests staying in addition to the kids.

[01:30:25] That is tough to do.

[01:30:27] Two adults and then the kids, you know, I don't know, man.

[01:30:31] Those rooms are small on purpose.

[01:30:33] That'd be annoying.

[01:30:35] It'd be tight, but they also like they come in and they like fold down the bed.

[01:30:40] I think it's for younger kids.

[01:30:43] Like I wouldn't, like, you know, I wouldn't imagine going with like a 17 year old or 16

[01:30:48] year old kid.

[01:30:48] Like that would be smelly.

[01:30:50] Does that count as a child?

[01:30:52] I mean, under 18.

[01:30:53] Oh, under 18.

[01:30:54] Yeah.

[01:30:54] We took Ted earlier this year on a cruise.

[01:30:57] So under two, that wasn't too bad.

[01:31:01] They like made the couch up and then at while we were at dinner, they would like make it

[01:31:07] into a bed.

[01:31:07] So you didn't lose the couch effectively for the time you were going to be in there.

[01:31:12] Okay.

[01:31:12] Which was nice.

[01:31:13] That's good, I guess.

[01:31:13] The Disney Plus subscriber must be listed as the primary guest for the reservations and

[01:31:19] must sail in one of the staterooms books.

[01:31:22] So that's good that it's not like the people getting the discount have to be the subscribers

[01:31:27] because it's the children.

[01:31:28] So you can't really do that.

[01:31:29] So I don't know.

[01:31:30] I'd like the fine print kind of clarifies.

[01:31:32] There are a lot of rules though.

[01:31:33] There are a lot of rules.

[01:31:34] Yeah.

[01:31:35] This offer applies to select sailings from January 3rd through June 13th, 2025 and only

[01:31:41] to stateroom categories 04A through 11C.

[01:31:44] What does that mean, Ryan?

[01:31:48] 04A, I think is a ocean view.

[01:31:54] Okay.

[01:31:54] So just lower and then down to steerage.

[01:31:57] I think it goes.

[01:31:58] I think that's saying like it doesn't apply to the cheapest rooms.

[01:32:01] Oh, okay.

[01:32:02] Oh, interesting.

[01:32:04] Uh, no.

[01:32:05] And the next sentence says this offer excludes suites concierge and categories with restrictions,

[01:32:12] which is VGT, OGT, and IGT, whatever that means.

[01:32:15] Those are, you don't pick your room.

[01:32:16] You just, so the VG codes are, they're guaranteed is what they're called.

[01:32:22] Uh, and those are, Hey, I want to go on this cruise.

[01:32:25] I don't pick my room.

[01:32:27] You Disney pick it, pick me from the leftovers.

[01:32:30] Oh, okay.

[01:32:30] Do you get a discount for doing it that way?

[01:32:32] You get a huge discount.

[01:32:34] I think, um, one of Eric's co-hosts on one of his other shows talked about doing like

[01:32:39] a transatlantic on a guaranteed rate for like four grand.

[01:32:44] And that's 14 days.

[01:32:47] Yeah.

[01:32:48] That's a long trip.

[01:32:49] Is there a chance that you could get a really good room?

[01:32:50] Like, is it like a lottery?

[01:32:51] Yeah.

[01:32:52] You, a lot of times what I've seen is like you get the unused like, um, accessibility rooms.

[01:32:59] Okay.

[01:32:59] So, you know, if nobody booked the accessible rooms, they'll put you in there.

[01:33:05] Um, it's, it's within a category, right?

[01:33:08] So, um, if you like, so you choose like, Hey, I want to, I know I I'm getting a room with a window

[01:33:16] or I know I'm getting a room with a balcony or I know I'm getting a room without a window.

[01:33:20] So that's what you're choosing in the, and then you're getting random from that.

[01:33:25] Got it.

[01:33:27] Both Sarah and Brian in the chat and Lisa, I think, well, uh, Sarah and Brian both say,

[01:33:36] um, they've never seen a Christmas story and that bothers me.

[01:33:40] No, Brian has seen it.

[01:33:41] He doesn't see it now and he's fine with that.

[01:33:43] I never see a, okay.

[01:33:44] I figured he was just writing an article for MSN and decided to pop in here real fast.

[01:33:49] I didn't, you know, I guess, you know, it's weird.

[01:33:51] Like I'm, I'm, I get conditioned to sort of like plug in missing words in things to like,

[01:33:59] yeah, I don't make sense.

[01:34:00] Yeah.

[01:34:01] You know, I think some of it's talking to you, but I think someone's like reading articles

[01:34:04] like, like I just read or it's like, okay, I, I, now my brain has to work overtime and

[01:34:08] trying to figure it.

[01:34:09] So I think that's what he was saying, but how can you not ever seen a Christmas story?

[01:34:12] It's not that it's like the most amazing movie ever, but it's so comforting in like

[01:34:18] a very soft way.

[01:34:19] Just, it's such a good movie, dude.

[01:34:21] So good.

[01:34:22] And you've cold check the night stalkers, the dad, like, how do you not, how do you not

[01:34:25] love that?

[01:34:27] All right.

[01:34:27] And then finally, last, last, last, but not least, I wanted to bring, I forgot about this.

[01:34:32] Um, I had mentioned in my letter to Santa Iger that there's a, just like a plug and play

[01:34:39] prefab barn shed in the middle of, uh, of the walkway.

[01:34:42] So it's to the next of the haunted mansions, next on a mansion.

[01:34:46] And we've talked about it before.

[01:34:47] And you guys heard about it before.

[01:34:49] They made like a, like a new gift shop basically kind of at the exit of haunted mansion.

[01:34:55] And, you know, you kind of expect it to be tied into the mansion ish.

[01:35:01] Right.

[01:35:01] But I guess the, the lore behind it, it's a carriage house.

[01:35:06] So the carriage would pull up, you know, park in the bar where they would drop off the

[01:35:10] people.

[01:35:11] Then the servants or the driver would go park in the barn with the horses or whatever.

[01:35:15] Okay.

[01:35:16] But it, you know, it should have some sort of like relevance or tie into the, to the

[01:35:20] house.

[01:35:20] Right.

[01:35:22] But anyway, it, I wish I could show you a picture on, on the screen.

[01:35:25] It looks like, have you seen it, Taryn?

[01:35:28] No.

[01:35:29] Oh, wait, I think I have.

[01:35:30] Have you guys seen the Eric and Ryan?

[01:35:33] I saw it in person.

[01:35:34] Yeah.

[01:35:35] Just two weeks ago.

[01:35:36] Oh, see, there you go.

[01:35:36] Yeah.

[01:35:37] Well, apparently someone thinks they found the website where, where Disney bought it.

[01:35:42] And it's from.

[01:35:43] Oh no.

[01:35:44] No way.

[01:35:45] Legacy post and beam.com.

[01:35:49] No.

[01:35:51] It, I'm telling you when I say that it's, I, it's a barn.

[01:35:55] It's easy to make a barn.

[01:35:56] It's identical.

[01:35:57] Is it really?

[01:35:58] Yes.

[01:35:58] So the legacy post and barn, barn kit, the new pre-designed barn kit, the Armstrong 42

[01:36:05] 36.

[01:36:06] On the outside, it has three kind of pendant lights over the barn doors.

[01:36:12] The two barn doors, they kind of pull apart like a, you know, a barn would.

[01:36:17] And then you look at the haunted mansion.

[01:36:19] And it's, you know, that's not exactly the same.

[01:36:23] There's, there's two lights over it, but the barn doors, you know, pull apart.

[01:36:27] The barn doors are a little bit different.

[01:36:28] They have built it slightly differently at the, at the parks.

[01:36:34] Um, but on the side, there's, you know, three doors or three windows on this thing.

[01:36:39] There's three, you know, doors.

[01:36:41] Uh, it slopes down at the, at the roof.

[01:36:44] It kind of like comes out and then, and then splails out at like a different angle.

[01:36:48] It's the same at the haunted mansion.

[01:36:50] One, it comes from a peak down to an a and then kind of out like a 45.

[01:36:55] Um, it, it looks identical enough.

[01:36:58] It's not exact, but it's exact enough to worry like, okay, this is not the same thing.

[01:37:05] Oh no.

[01:37:06] Yeah.

[01:37:06] It's weird, man.

[01:37:08] It's weird.

[01:37:08] It's, it's, it's, it's yeah.

[01:37:10] I don't know.

[01:37:11] So that's, that's the theory going around.

[01:37:13] Is it true?

[01:37:13] I don't know.

[01:37:15] I've heard from people who work there that, uh, you know, uh, I was like, yeah, this is,

[01:37:22] um, people online are talking a lot of crap about this and they think it's weird.

[01:37:27] And these people are like, yeah.

[01:37:29] And the offices as well, nobody really understands why they did this.

[01:37:32] So the, the, the confirmation that I've gotten is not really confirmation so much as like,

[01:37:37] yeah, we, we hear the same thing and we agree that it's weird.

[01:37:41] So to me, that's like roundabout going, yeah, why did we do this?

[01:37:46] Yeah.

[01:37:47] So like they took it and they adjusted a little bit, but it still looks, it still looks,

[01:37:52] people are joking about like printing tough shed stickers and slapping them on, putting

[01:37:56] a home Depot price tag on it on the outside.

[01:37:59] It doesn't look that bad in person.

[01:38:01] And I, I, I mean, yeah, it's, it's weird that they bought a prefab.

[01:38:05] That is weird.

[01:38:07] Yeah.

[01:38:07] And it's, it's not the first time, right?

[01:38:09] When we did that story on, um, the history of Mr. Toad, we learned like fantasy land.

[01:38:14] The, the rooms were like 100 by 100 prefab warehouses.

[01:38:19] That's right.

[01:38:19] Yeah.

[01:38:20] But they were built out differently.

[01:38:22] And this does look different.

[01:38:23] If you look at that, the thing I just, you know, told you about, um, the shed numbers

[01:38:28] and then you look at the pictures, it is different.

[01:38:31] So is it the same?

[01:38:33] No, but it's weird that the structure, I mean, like Eric said, a barn is a barn, but this is,

[01:38:39] this is a little too close to a barn.

[01:38:41] It's a little too close to the same thing.

[01:38:42] So I would imagine they built this and then they slapped some other stuff around it to

[01:38:47] make it look, to make it look a little bit different.

[01:38:50] Yeah.

[01:38:51] It doesn't look that different.

[01:38:52] It's even with the plussing.

[01:38:54] So Ryan, you've been there with the plussings.

[01:38:57] People are saying it still looks cheap.

[01:39:00] What did you think about it when you were there?

[01:39:02] I don't think it looks cheap, at least from what I saw it, it one, it, it almost disappears.

[01:39:08] Like it's not, uh, the pictures I'm, I'm looking at on like Google image search.

[01:39:14] It makes it look like it's a big, huge thing.

[01:39:16] That's like in the middle of the walkway.

[01:39:18] It's really not.

[01:39:18] It's kind of just tucked back.

[01:39:20] And well, that's what I heard.

[01:39:21] Like people are going one of my, basically the two things I've heard about it is that

[01:39:25] it looks terrible, that it just looks like a prefab thing, but it also like blocks a lot

[01:39:30] of the view.

[01:39:31] Like when you come down from Tiana's, that's like what you see.

[01:39:35] It kind of blocks your view of the mansion from that kind of that gentle bend around

[01:39:39] the trail.

[01:39:40] I don't remember that way.

[01:39:42] I mean, we didn't come from Tiana's that often cause we, we rode Tiana's.

[01:39:47] Um, and we like it.

[01:39:49] I liked it.

[01:39:50] I liked Tiana's a lot.

[01:39:52] Um, it was, it was really, really cool.

[01:39:55] I think they use the space really well.

[01:39:59] Some of the, at least from watching videos of Florida, if feel like the Florida one feels

[01:40:06] more spread out, whereas the California one is very tight.

[01:40:10] I think they took some feedback and they, they applied it like in the meantime.

[01:40:15] Um, the queue is great.

[01:40:18] The, I didn't have my phone out or else I would have, uh, Tiana's beignet recipe.

[01:40:24] Cause it was like sitting on a counter in the queue.

[01:40:27] Oh man.

[01:40:29] Um, but it, it was really neat.

[01:40:31] The story, the story's weird.

[01:40:33] You shrink and then you grow not to.

[01:40:35] Ew, weird.

[01:40:37] Yeah.

[01:40:37] Not to like, I didn't get that from any of like the, the walkthrough video that we did

[01:40:41] or like any, I've never heard that.

[01:40:44] That is odd to me.

[01:40:45] Yeah.

[01:40:46] It's, it's loose.

[01:40:47] And, and I will say the one thing that like, I think they did not make clear.

[01:40:52] And unless you, I think because I'm somebody who nerds out about this stuff, I like knew

[01:40:57] it going in.

[01:40:59] The story is you're going to find a band.

[01:41:02] You're basically putting a band together for a party.

[01:41:04] I thought it was to find ingredients to cook with the secret ingredient to the party, which

[01:41:09] the secret ingredient to that party is a band.

[01:41:12] Is a band.

[01:41:16] But, but overall, like the, the drop is there, right?

[01:41:20] The drop is still there.

[01:41:21] That'll never change.

[01:41:22] And that's the drop was fun.

[01:41:24] That was that.

[01:41:24] And that was my thing is that I don't care how it looks.

[01:41:29] I don't care about whatever theme it is.

[01:41:32] As long as the drop is there, that's what you're there for.

[01:41:35] And then the coast through at the end in the nice, cool, like, you know, building, that's

[01:41:40] what, that's the ride.

[01:41:42] I didn't like that ride because it was frigging Br'er Rabbit.

[01:41:46] I liked it because of the drop.

[01:41:48] Right.

[01:41:49] And I think if we're honest with ourselves, that's what everybody likes.

[01:41:53] Yeah.

[01:41:53] A hundred percent.

[01:41:54] Exactly what I don't like.

[01:41:58] I like took Lisa on it because she doesn't like it either.

[01:42:01] And I, and I was like, look, we're going to try and get a virtual queue because it was

[01:42:05] still on virtual queue while we were there.

[01:42:07] We were there like one of the last days it was on virtual queue.

[01:42:10] I was like, we'll try and get a virtual queue.

[01:42:12] If we get one, we'll go grab ponchos because we didn't have change of clothes.

[01:42:16] I was like, we'll do it.

[01:42:17] You have to.

[01:42:18] No, you don't.

[01:42:19] Have you seen the videos of people riding this ride?

[01:42:22] It will ruin your entire day.

[01:42:24] It's very splashy.

[01:42:25] They've increased the splashness.

[01:42:27] They've dialed up the splashness.

[01:42:28] There's rumors that they did.

[01:42:29] I don't remember Splash Mountain clear enough to know like if it was different, but it was

[01:42:37] very splashy.

[01:42:38] I will say there was like two solid soaks in the ride.

[01:42:42] Okay.

[01:42:42] Well, that's good, man.

[01:42:43] Good for those people.

[01:42:43] I do just, I do remember getting insanely wet on Splash Mountain.

[01:42:49] It was very bad.

[01:42:50] And so that's another reason why I don't like that ride.

[01:42:54] All right.

[01:42:55] Let's get out of here.

[01:42:57] Yes.

[01:42:58] I think it's time.

[01:43:00] Jason needs to chug his nine and a half percent beer.

[01:43:04] All right.

[01:43:06] Got a half down in one gulp.

[01:43:08] I wish, man.

[01:43:08] Little known fact, Jason is very good at chugging beer.

[01:43:13] I'm an expert.

[01:43:14] He can actually like chug like a full pint in like one sip.

[01:43:18] Like it's very bizarre.

[01:43:20] It's a weird skill that.

[01:43:22] You looked at me like I was going to do it right now.

[01:43:24] I thought you were.

[01:43:25] I'm not going to do it.

[01:43:26] No, of course not.

[01:43:27] I'm 47 years old.

[01:43:28] I don't do that anymore.

[01:43:29] Oh, that's boring.

[01:43:32] Okay.

[01:43:33] You want me to chug this beer?

[01:43:35] Sure.

[01:43:36] No.

[01:43:36] Kidding me?

[01:43:38] It's almost 10%.

[01:43:39] I thought insane.

[01:43:41] That would not be a good idea.

[01:43:42] I do it with like, you know, like a Guinness.

[01:43:46] You know what I mean?

[01:43:47] Like a lower alcohol, less carbonated beer.

[01:43:49] That's easier.

[01:43:50] Yeah.

[01:43:51] Anyway, it's not the secret show.

[01:43:53] Taryn, leave me alone.

[01:43:54] Sorry.

[01:43:55] Thank you everybody for participating in this show.

[01:43:57] You know, Rob from Bantha Milk, Ryan from Puny Pod, Eric from Supreme Resort.

[01:44:03] I appreciate you guys very much.

[01:44:05] And I appreciate you guys listening to the show too.

[01:44:07] Everybody listens to the show.

[01:44:09] You know, I know this last year has been a weird year because we've transitioned mainly

[01:44:14] from broadcasting on YouTube to Twitch, but I'm trying to integrate a lot of fun stuff.

[01:44:18] I was just spending half the day today trying to figure out how to, it's like the longer

[01:44:22] you watch on Twitch, you get these channel points or something like that.

[01:44:25] I think, I don't really know.

[01:44:27] And then I'm going to try to like turn those into ways you can like control the camera.

[01:44:32] I'm going to get some lights.

[01:44:32] Just kind of like more interactive like stuff to do.

[01:44:35] I don't know.

[01:44:36] Whatever.

[01:44:36] Cool stuff.

[01:44:37] Yeah.

[01:44:37] When we're gaming, not during the show.

[01:44:39] That'd be kind of.

[01:44:40] That'd be so distracting for me.

[01:44:41] That'd be so distracting.

[01:44:42] Yeah.

[01:44:42] Like what's going on, man?

[01:44:43] Oh, thanks, Dottie.

[01:44:45] Anyway, your support means the world.

[01:44:48] And you know, even if you're not on Patreon, which I understand, you know, I'm not trying

[01:44:51] to bully anybody to do anything, but even just being a part of the show, listening

[01:44:56] either live or on the podcast or talking about us or sharing us with other people.

[01:45:00] That means a lot.

[01:45:01] That goes a long way too.

[01:45:02] So I really appreciate it.

[01:45:05] Don't forget to support all the other shows that we have going on here.

[01:45:08] If you are listening live, speaking of other shows, we do have the Buena Vista Boys that

[01:45:12] are going to be recording live Saturday, I think at noon.

[01:45:15] And we're going to be covering the Annette Funicello classic Babes in Toyland, which is

[01:45:20] a nightmare.

[01:45:21] That is the weirdest movie.

[01:45:23] I got to finish watching it.

[01:45:24] But like there's so many cool lighting choices.

[01:45:28] And like when they like the villains and stuff, it's very Tim Burton.

[01:45:32] Yeah, it's like Prince Purple and green.

[01:45:36] And like, it's I don't know.

[01:45:37] It's just I love it.

[01:45:39] I haven't seen it ever.

[01:45:40] I've never seen it either.

[01:45:41] It's great.

[01:45:42] I kind of like it.

[01:45:43] I'm only like 20 minutes in, but I was like, oh, this is kind of neat.

[01:45:45] It's weird, but awesome.

[01:45:47] Anyway, you're going to be doing that live so you can check that out.

[01:45:49] But otherwise, we have nine other episodes on Buena Vista Boys.

[01:45:53] Of course, Peony Pod, Scraping the Vault, Supreme Resort, Bantha Milk, all the things.

[01:45:58] Go to the website, earsup-podcast.com.

[01:46:01] You can find all that stuff there.

[01:46:02] We are done.

[01:46:03] We are out of here.

[01:46:04] We'll see you.

[01:46:05] If you're a Patreon supporter, we'll see you for the secret show sometime in January.

[01:46:09] Otherwise, I don't know when we'll see you next.

[01:46:11] Maybe late January.

[01:46:13] You know, depends if Rob gets on the phone and bullies me into doing another show.

[01:46:17] Who knows?

[01:46:19] Eric, I'm glad you bullied me today.

[01:46:21] Not today, but the other day.

[01:46:22] All right.

[01:46:23] I'm glad you had a good time.

[01:46:24] I didn't say that.

[01:46:24] I'm saying I'm glad you bullied me.

[01:46:27] I enjoy being bullied.

[01:46:30] No, I appreciate it.

[01:46:31] Thank you, everybody.

[01:46:32] Appreciate you very much.

[01:46:33] Have a happy new year.

[01:46:34] Great holiday.

[01:46:36] And until next time, we'll see you in the parks.

[01:46:39] Oh, actually, the next show we do is going to be the year in review of 2024.

[01:46:43] I got to get stuff ready.

[01:46:45] Maybe we'll see if we can get Jeremy in here.

[01:46:47] Yeah.

[01:46:48] All right.

[01:46:48] Bye, guys.
