[00:00:00] On this episode of Bantha Milk Podcast, I have a guest. Yes, it is. And I am joined this week. I have a very special guest talking about bounty hunting. It looks like he has his Christmas Boba Fett sweater on there. That's awesome. I love it. That is sure. That's for sure. Our good friend Ken Bishop is joining us from multiple Star Wars podcasts. I'll let him say all of them because I don't want to get it.
[00:00:51] one of them wrong, but Nick is out sick again. My man just he loves getting the illnesses. He cannot stop himself from doing it. So he's like disturbed down with the sickness. That's what our opening song should have been is down with this. So yeah. Yeah. So unfortunately, my man Nick is a little under the weather, but I still wanted to get out week or episode six in a timely fashion of the Skeleton Crew to us.
[00:01:20] So here's my man Ken. Go ahead and tell us Ken all the different places that we can find you because I know there's more than one. Yeah, sure thing. So Wednesday nights, I'm usually on on the YouTubes with Mike Hinton. We co-host the Inflatable Falcon. I have my own little show called Rambling Star Wars Fan and an even littler show called Bounty Hunting Across the Galaxy with Todd and Ken. Those are the three main places. And then I've like like tonight, you know, I've jumped into a couple podcasts here and there.
[00:01:49] So thanks for having me on. Happy New Year. Happy New Year to you too as well. Did you did you make any resolutions any New Year's resolutions?
[00:01:57] I was I made the resolution not to make resolutions. That's probably the only one that I'll ever be able to stick to. Yeah, I the only one I made was that I was going to write 2025 anytime I wrote the date and not 2024.
[00:02:09] And at almost didn't come. I almost broke my New Year's resolution today by I almost wrote 2024 down, but I stopped myself. I was very proud of myself. I was like, nope, it's 2025. So there we go. Yeah.
[00:02:24] Welcome. Yeah. Welcome to 2025, everybody. This is our first episode of the new year. And we're talking again about the skeleton crew because in my opinion, it is top three new Disney plus Star Wars shows so far.
[00:02:49] All through all six episodes. Yeah. I'm huge, huge fan of the Mandalorian. It's still my number one.
[00:02:57] I think Andor is up there. And then I think this would be three for me. I did like Ahsoka. So that one's not that would be a close fourth. But I'm going all the way up to three with this one. I I love the writing of this one so far. What about you, Ken? What do you think of it?
[00:03:12] I definitely like it. I'm just wondering when you said the new shows, are you talking about the the other little documentaries they've done? They did a documentary on industrial lights and magic and most recently the one about John Williams and and the music.
[00:03:25] No, no, I'm just talking like Disney Star Wars shows like show shows.
[00:03:30] Yeah, that makes sense. Book of Boba Fett and skeleton crew right now.
[00:03:37] This is skeleton crew. What's the other one that came out right before this? The one about the the old.
[00:03:41] Oh, the acolyte. The acolyte. Yeah, I wasn't a fan of the acolyte. I didn't I didn't like that. I liked the concept.
[00:03:48] I didn't enjoy the writing of it. I felt it missed a lot in my opinion.
[00:03:53] And I know one of the things that I think is cool about this in comparison to the acolyte is goes to show that within the Star Wars galaxy, there's so much room for different kinds of stories.
[00:04:03] Yeah. Oh, 100 percent. And the fact that, you know, people were saying Star Wars can't live without the Skywalkers.
[00:04:12] Well, Mandalorian, although they did have a Luke scene in it and it was an epic Luke scene, I will add.
[00:04:19] It was the Luke that we wanted, not the Luke that we got in episodes, a movie episode seven, eight and nine.
[00:04:27] It was the Luke that we the B.A. Luke Skywalker that came in and took no prisoners.
[00:04:33] Luke Skywalker. But Mandalorian did fine by itself.
[00:04:40] Andor did phenomenal. And it was also and or completely different storytelling as well.
[00:04:46] You know, and or was like a war story with some Star Wars stuff thrown in there.
[00:04:52] And I feel this is very similar to it.
[00:04:55] This is a very vintage feel because they love throwing in all those 80 movies references.
[00:05:02] I'm still waiting for somebody to say you'll shoot your eye out, kid.
[00:05:05] I'm still waiting. I'm still waiting for for someone.
[00:05:10] Maybe once they get the ship back to the planet, they'll look down at the speedometer and see how many miles they put on it and say,
[00:05:16] we'll just put the put the thrust in reverse and we'll take all the miles off of it.
[00:05:21] I'm waiting for that to happen.
[00:05:22] I think we also have a chance of hearing Neil say something to the effect of where we're going.
[00:05:27] We don't need roads. Yes.
[00:05:29] Oh, that would be great.
[00:05:30] That would be great if he says that.
[00:05:32] And people were arguing about Urkel saying, did I do that?
[00:05:38] Jaleel White.
[00:05:39] But somebody said that he has spent his entire adulthood trying to distance himself from that TV series, which I don't.
[00:05:47] I mean, I understand you played a nerd and you were famous for being a nerd and you don't want to be a nerd.
[00:05:53] I get that.
[00:05:54] But I'm hoping that at this day and age, which I don't think people can do, but I'm hoping that at this day and age, people can separate character from people and he can enjoy what he did.
[00:06:06] I mean, we had so many different Star Wars situations where people hated the the actor who played Jar Jar Binks.
[00:06:16] He was an actor, you know, and like when he got his other role in one of the series later and they're like, oh, this is his redemption arc.
[00:06:24] He didn't need a redemption arc.
[00:06:26] He did nothing wrong.
[00:06:28] Society needed the redemption arc to say we are sorry for being jerks to you 20 years ago when we blamed you, the actor, for Jar Jar Binks being a horrible character.
[00:06:39] But I'll put my milk crate away and get off of my milk box now.
[00:06:45] But yeah, you know, Andor was such a fun and different story.
[00:06:51] Skeleton Crew, another fun and different story.
[00:06:54] I mean, we saw one lightsaber so far and they opened it up backwards.
[00:06:59] So it's not like each of us would do.
[00:07:02] If we were tweens with a lightsaber, we would probably pierce our own foot.
[00:07:06] We would 100 percent because you don't know which way the blade comes out.
[00:07:11] Oops, the wrong way.
[00:07:14] So, yeah.
[00:07:15] And I think on this show, I'm going to coin a new term.
[00:07:17] OK.
[00:07:17] So I'm going to guess you've you've watched videos where they they they they display, quote unquote, Easter eggs.
[00:07:24] Yes.
[00:07:25] Well, for this show, I think we should start referring to them as nostalgia nuggets.
[00:07:29] I love it.
[00:07:30] Because there are these so there's so many little winks and nods towards other things like you were talking about.
[00:07:36] Mm hmm.
[00:07:37] You know, hoping that that somebody mentions that you'll shoot your eye out.
[00:07:41] Yeah.
[00:07:41] You know, these these connections, the things that we hold near and dear show up in the Star Wars galaxy.
[00:07:47] Yes.
[00:07:47] That'd be really fun.
[00:07:48] I love it.
[00:07:48] Because I'm nostalgia nuggets.
[00:07:49] I, too, do not like the term Easter eggs.
[00:07:52] I'm like, whatever.
[00:07:53] But so I love the fact that we'll rename them nostalgia nuggets.
[00:07:57] I mean, let's do it.
[00:07:58] I love it very much.
[00:08:00] But before we do that.
[00:08:03] Where did it go?
[00:08:04] Oh, hold on.
[00:08:08] I brought down some bantha milk, but I forgot to.
[00:08:11] It's in my bag.
[00:08:12] So hold on one second.
[00:08:13] Let me go get it.
[00:08:14] Sure thing.
[00:08:15] I hope you have some.
[00:08:16] If not, it's OK.
[00:08:23] If only I could sing.
[00:08:25] I could entertain you.
[00:08:26] And we're back.
[00:08:28] Sorry about that.
[00:08:29] Ken was entertaining you while I was gone.
[00:08:31] Thank you, Ken.
[00:08:32] Yeah.
[00:08:33] I brought down some.
[00:08:35] This is the last one that I have.
[00:08:36] I had like a whole 12 pack of Evil Genius sorted packs.
[00:08:41] This one, Stacy's Mom.
[00:08:43] That's a fun name.
[00:08:44] They have fun names for their beers.
[00:08:46] Evil Genius is here in the great, the Garden State of New Jersey.
[00:08:51] So in true bantha milk podcast fashion, there it is for you.
[00:08:57] This is a citra IPA.
[00:09:00] Stacy's going to have a little citra.
[00:09:04] Not bad.
[00:09:04] Would you say that that has it going on?
[00:09:07] I would say it has it.
[00:09:09] Just like Stacy's mom's got it going on.
[00:09:11] So yes, this drink definitely has it going on.
[00:09:15] So we got that done.
[00:09:16] I would need to plug all of our other shows here on the Ears Up Network.
[00:09:20] We have, of course, the main show, Ears Up.
[00:09:22] We have Scraping the Vault, which those guys do a fun job.
[00:09:27] BVB.
[00:09:27] I forgot to add them.
[00:09:29] These guys do a very fun job of watching old Disney straight to DVD or straight to VHS.
[00:09:39] VHS.
[00:09:40] What?
[00:09:40] Oh, there we go.
[00:09:40] Okay.
[00:09:41] Straight to VHS Disney shows.
[00:09:43] So it's pretty fun.
[00:09:45] Then we have the Supreme Resort.
[00:09:50] And after this, I'm sorry, my.
[00:09:53] It looks like it's still going fine.
[00:09:55] Okay.
[00:09:55] It got a little pixelated there for a second.
[00:09:57] I was a little worried.
[00:09:59] We have the Supreme Resort.
[00:10:02] We have Scraping the Vault.
[00:10:05] We did that.
[00:10:05] The Supreme Resort, those two guys compare, or three guys, compare Disneyland versus Disney World rides.
[00:10:13] And forever now it feels like they've been talking about hotels.
[00:10:17] I just say that because they are making fun of themselves.
[00:10:21] They've had like six episodes about hotels because they have all different levels of hotels at each side and whatever.
[00:10:27] And they're talking all about them.
[00:10:28] And it's still entertaining and educational for me.
[00:10:31] I like that a lot.
[00:10:32] Puny Pod Boys, they talk all about Marvel.
[00:10:35] They're re-breaking down every single Marvel movie in order.
[00:10:39] And then we have the Buena Vista Boys who are doing the exact same thing as Scraping the Vault.
[00:10:45] But they are doing it about old just Buena Vista movies that Disney released in the 50s and 60s and 70s and stuff like that.
[00:10:54] But they're breaking down those movies in the time frame and all that good stuff.
[00:10:57] And last thing, over on the YouTubes, Ears Up is now streaming all of those shows and this one on their YouTube channel as well.
[00:11:10] If you're watching or listening to us over there, you just see a still graphic and you get to hear us talk.
[00:11:16] But if you want to see our bright, shiny faces, then you can go over to our YouTube channel, Bantha Milk Podcast, and you can watch us and actually see our faces as we're talking.
[00:11:29] As we're drinking our Stacy's Mom Evil Genius and whatever else we're doing.
[00:11:35] When we do the opening credits, we do silly dances because we're silly people.
[00:11:39] And you can actually see that.
[00:11:40] That's what we do.
[00:11:41] And instead of just hearing us not – you can't hear us dance because we don't stomp our feet.
[00:11:46] You can actually see us bounce around in our chairs.
[00:11:48] So if you're listening to us on the Ears Up YouTube channel, pop on over to ours, Bantha Milk Podcast, directly, and you can watch us and listen to us over there.
[00:11:58] Somebody did send us a comment on the Ears Up one about episode one and two.
[00:12:03] So it said – let me give the exact quote here for you because since you're here, maybe you'll remember this because Nick and I both apparently forgot it.
[00:12:17] I need to – oh, there we go, finally.
[00:12:20] All right.
[00:12:21] So they – Chelsea Glover, 53-43, commented on your video.
[00:12:31] So the last scene with the owl creature on the secluded moon wasn't even mentioned.
[00:12:38] Did anyone else think it was a nod or rip from Augry's Enter and Observatory in The Dark Crystal?
[00:12:48] Now, did you see The Dark Crystal?
[00:12:50] Oh, goodness, yes.
[00:12:51] Maybe years ago, right?
[00:12:52] Yeah, it was like when the Muppets, when Jim Henson and all that said, we're going to make – right?
[00:12:58] That was the one with – yeah.
[00:13:00] And they had a – who was the rock and roll guy?
[00:13:04] Billy Idol?
[00:13:05] Was Billy Idol in it or –
[00:13:07] No, that was Labyrinth.
[00:13:08] That was Labyrinth.
[00:13:09] That was Labyrinth and it was David Bowie.
[00:13:11] David Bowie.
[00:13:12] I was thinking of that.
[00:13:12] The Dark Crystal – but wasn't Dark Crystal a Muppets or no?
[00:13:16] It was Jim Henson, but it was when – so the Labyrinth was a combination humans and Muppets.
[00:13:23] Okay.
[00:13:24] Whereas the Dark Crystal – or no, the Labyrinth was a combination.
[00:13:27] Dark Crystal was all puppets.
[00:13:29] All puppets.
[00:13:30] Okay.
[00:13:30] That's all from top to bottom.
[00:13:32] Okay.
[00:13:33] So do you remember – they're talking about episodes one and two of The Skeleton Crew that there was a –
[00:13:39] Yeah, so there was a character in the Dark Crystal Niagara and she had this observatory with like a planetary system that related around the room and everything.
[00:13:49] Okay.
[00:13:49] So I could see the nod to that when I saw – and I think the owl's character, his name was Kim.
[00:13:56] Oh, okay.
[00:13:57] Yeah, I know what you're talking about.
[00:13:58] I thought of that and I thought of two other things as well.
[00:14:01] I thought of the robot owl in – wasn't it Jason and the Argonauts?
[00:14:07] Mm-hmm.
[00:14:08] And then there was also the owl in Sword in the Stone, the Disney movie.
[00:14:14] Yes.
[00:14:14] The animated movie from way back when.
[00:14:16] I thought for sure though she was going to pull out a lollipop and lick it three times.
[00:14:22] Ask how long it would take to get to the center.
[00:14:23] To get to the center of it and then bite it.
[00:14:25] Yeah, like one of the kids would just be like, I have to know.
[00:14:28] How long will it take to get to the center of this lollipop?
[00:14:32] So there we go.
[00:14:33] Ken does remember.
[00:14:34] And so Chelsea Glover, thank you for the comment on episodes one and two.
[00:14:42] And that is a very good nod.
[00:14:44] Maybe because I saw that movie years ago, only saw it once, maybe a couple of times.
[00:14:49] It was probably on HBO again and I might have seen it a couple of times, but I haven't seen it in a long time, which is why I forgot all about it.
[00:14:57] So thank you for that.
[00:15:02] Before we continue, I have, my wife got me a book, Weird But True, Star Wars 300 Epic Facts from a Galaxy Far, Far Away.
[00:15:15] Last week I read one or two of them to Nick.
[00:15:19] So, and I'll read a couple of them to you, Ken.
[00:15:23] It's like story time.
[00:15:25] A pet in Star Wars Resistance was a creature originally designed 20 years earlier for the Phantom Menace.
[00:15:32] So this little guy here, this funky looking pet thing, whatever, apparently was designed, created 20 years earlier, but they never used it.
[00:15:41] And Mark Hamill has voiced other Star Wars characters.
[00:15:44] Can you think of, you know, which ones he has voiced?
[00:15:47] I can think of at least one.
[00:15:49] Okay.
[00:15:49] And that was Bulio from The Rise of Skywalker.
[00:15:52] Yep.
[00:15:53] He did Bulio in The Rise of Skywalker.
[00:15:54] He did Evie 99 in The Mandalorian.
[00:15:59] And I'm trying to think.
[00:16:00] I know he did another one.
[00:16:03] Was Bulio...
[00:16:05] He's the one that got his head cut off.
[00:16:07] Okay.
[00:16:08] He's the one that like gave them the...
[00:16:10] Was he the one that gave them the plans or something like that?
[00:16:13] Yeah, right at the beginning and then Kylo Ren just dropped his head on the conference room table.
[00:16:18] And I know he did another one, but I don't remember what else he did, but I remember him doing another one as well.
[00:16:24] Oh, here's one more.
[00:16:25] Jar Jar Binks was originally going to have green colored skin.
[00:16:29] I don't think that would have helped him at all or made it any different.
[00:16:34] One of the things I'll encourage you to think of next time you watch Jar Jar, picture Charlie Chaplin.
[00:16:40] Mm-hmm.
[00:16:41] Charlie Chaplin and Goofy.
[00:16:43] Yes.
[00:16:44] Those two characters combined, and you may have a different appreciation for them.
[00:16:49] Look, I appreciate the character.
[00:16:51] The fact that he single-handedly destroyed the galaxy is my biggest problem.
[00:16:56] He was the one that was naive enough to just go along with and make the suggestions to the council, make the suggestions to Padme and whatever,
[00:17:09] and just make the decisions that Emperor Palpatine was like, hey, guess what?
[00:17:13] You need to say this.
[00:17:14] Okay, I'll say that.
[00:17:15] And then bam.
[00:17:16] So then, yeah.
[00:17:17] So that's why I don't like him.
[00:17:19] I thought he was a fun character.
[00:17:21] I remember when I watched it the first, you know, when it first came out in 99 or whatever year it was when it first came out.
[00:17:28] I didn't mind him.
[00:17:29] I thought he was a fun character.
[00:17:30] I thought he was goofy.
[00:17:32] Totally a great nod to Goofy.
[00:17:34] And the Charlie Chaplin add to that is fun.
[00:17:39] But the fact that they used him as the scapegoat and made him make all the decisions, that's where I'm, like, mad at him for.
[00:17:47] And then...
[00:17:48] Well, in that case, you should get mad at Padme.
[00:17:50] Yeah, for letting him.
[00:17:52] Yeah, letting him.
[00:17:52] He's the one that bounces.
[00:17:53] You can be the senator.
[00:17:55] Yeah, you go talk to them.
[00:17:56] You'll be fine.
[00:17:57] And then the last thing, I also got these little Mandalorian trivia quiz cards.
[00:18:05] They have one-point questions and two-point questions.
[00:18:07] All the one-point questions were very easy.
[00:18:10] The two-point questions were a little bit harder, but not much harder.
[00:18:13] So I'm going to ask you two of these cards, and we'll see.
[00:18:17] You'll probably just do wonderfully with these questions.
[00:18:22] So what piece of equipment does the Mandalorian acquire allowing him to fly?
[00:18:29] And if you...
[00:18:31] The jetpack.
[00:18:31] There you go.
[00:18:32] I was going to read the three choices, but you don't even need it.
[00:18:35] The jetpack, yep.
[00:18:37] Darksaber, jetpack, or a besker staff?
[00:18:39] Which one helps him fly?
[00:18:40] You're right, jetpack.
[00:18:42] Ding, ding, ding.
[00:18:43] And then here's...
[00:18:44] Unless he used the spear as, like, a pole vaulting stick.
[00:18:47] He just leaped over the river with it.
[00:18:50] And then the two-point question on this card.
[00:18:53] What does Mando freeze his bounties in for safe delivery?
[00:18:57] That's an easy one also.
[00:18:58] Oh, carbonite.
[00:18:59] Carbonite, yes.
[00:19:00] Not ice or besker, but it is, of course, carbonite.
[00:19:04] Look at you.
[00:19:05] You're two for two so far.
[00:19:06] And one-point question.
[00:19:09] What surrounds Magistrate Morgan Elsbeth's town?
[00:19:15] Dead trees, a swamp, or a lava tide?
[00:19:19] Dead trees.
[00:19:20] A creepy burnt forest.
[00:19:21] And the correct answer is...
[00:19:23] A creepy burnt forest.
[00:19:23] Yay, dead trees.
[00:19:24] Yes, that creepy burnt forest.
[00:19:26] I thought it was going to be like the wall.
[00:19:28] I'm like that giant wall.
[00:19:30] I was like, I don't know.
[00:19:31] And then the two-point question.
[00:19:33] What does Quill ask Cara Dune to conceal?
[00:19:37] Her hair, her injury, her rebel tattoo.
[00:19:40] The tattoo.
[00:19:41] Ooh, the tattoo.
[00:19:41] The tattoo, yes.
[00:19:42] I think it would have taken me a little while to think about it without the clues, but with
[00:19:48] the clues, I definitely knew it was the rebel tattoo as well.
[00:19:50] Very good.
[00:19:51] Excellent.
[00:19:51] All right.
[00:19:52] That's all the fun stuff out of the way.
[00:19:54] We're going to take a real fast commercial break, and then we're going to come back with
[00:19:58] our breakdown.
[00:19:58] So if you didn't watch it yet, hit stop.
[00:20:00] Hit pause.
[00:20:01] Go watch it.
[00:20:02] It's a great episode.
[00:20:03] It's a short episode, but it's a great episode.
[00:20:06] Go watch episode six.
[00:20:08] What did she say again?
[00:20:10] I have no friends again.
[00:20:11] Is that what it is?
[00:20:12] All alone again.
[00:20:13] Zero.
[00:20:14] Zero friends.
[00:20:15] Zero friends again.
[00:20:16] Yes.
[00:20:16] So we'll be right back after these commercial breaks.
[00:20:23] We'll put them in later, and we're back.
[00:20:26] Woo!
[00:20:28] Did you miss us?
[00:20:29] Did you miss us?
[00:20:29] It feels like only seconds ago.
[00:20:33] All right.
[00:20:33] So episode six, zero friends again.
[00:20:37] Before we break down scene by scene, what did you think of this episode?
[00:20:40] It was a short episode, which is what Nick doesn't like about streaming shows.
[00:20:45] Oh, I can appreciate that because one of the things that you know about me is I have this
[00:20:53] thirst for more Star Wars.
[00:20:54] I would be happy sitting down and watching a two-hour episode every week.
[00:20:58] Every week.
[00:20:58] Yep.
[00:20:58] I agree.
[00:20:59] And at the same time, the shorter episodes gives us more to talk about in between.
[00:21:05] Yeah.
[00:21:06] You know?
[00:21:06] Yeah.
[00:21:06] I agree.
[00:21:07] I would love two-hour episodes every week and give us lots to talk about every week.
[00:21:12] But this episode also, this episode was directed by Bryce Dallas Howard.
[00:21:18] And you could even tell the first Mandalorian episode that she directed.
[00:21:23] I think it was like episode two or three.
[00:21:25] It had more heart and more feeling to it.
[00:21:27] And this was another episode that had a lot of heart and feeling to it.
[00:21:32] It didn't have a lot of advancing the story until the very end because everything just took place right there on the planet.
[00:21:41] But it advanced the characters a lot, which was really good because it had a lot of good.
[00:21:48] This Stacy's mom was getting to me, man.
[00:21:50] It had a lot of good character building, which I really, really enjoyed because now we got to know a little bit more about the kids.
[00:21:57] And we got to really appreciate the kids and all of their shortcomings and strongcomings.
[00:22:04] What's the opposite of shortcomings?
[00:22:05] All of their strengths.
[00:22:07] Strengths.
[00:22:07] There you go.
[00:22:08] Look at that.
[00:22:09] Boom.
[00:22:09] That's why you're here, Ken.
[00:22:10] All right.
[00:22:11] So, and I do enjoy starting the show off.
[00:22:15] When the preview talks about something that we haven't seen for five episodes, you know that's the Chekhov's gun that's going to come up in that episode.
[00:22:24] So, in the preview right before it, it says previously on Skeleton Crew, don't touch that button.
[00:22:31] Oh, yeah.
[00:22:31] I forgot about that.
[00:22:33] The kids are going to have to touch that button at some point today.
[00:22:35] So, I thought that was pretty funny.
[00:22:37] And then after that, we open up on the Goonies slide.
[00:22:42] Another great reference to the Goonies.
[00:22:44] All the kids are sliding down because Wynn pulled that trap door to get away so that Jod wouldn't trap them and capture them.
[00:22:54] He said, you know, take them to the brig.
[00:22:57] And they were like, nope.
[00:22:59] And they went down the Goonies slide.
[00:23:01] So, that was a fun tribute to that as well as what else Star Wars wise.
[00:23:06] Could it be a...
[00:23:07] Got the slide on the, was it Cloud City and Bespin?
[00:23:11] Yeah.
[00:23:11] Yeah.
[00:23:11] The Luke Skywalker slide on Bespin as well on Cloud City.
[00:23:15] Can we forget the Jungle Slide and Romancing the Stone?
[00:23:18] Oh, there you go.
[00:23:20] And I'm sure our good friend Harrison Ford, when he wore his hat and his whip, he, as Indiana Jones, also went down a slide in at least one, probably two or three of the Harrison Ford Indiana Jones movies.
[00:23:37] So, lots of nostalgic there.
[00:23:40] Lots of nostalgic nuggets.
[00:23:42] Is that what we're calling them?
[00:23:43] Nostalgic nuggets.
[00:23:44] There we go.
[00:23:45] I'm still trying to figure out, like, how deep is this place?
[00:23:48] Because they had to go down into the lair.
[00:23:51] They did.
[00:23:52] They had to go down through the vat of acid.
[00:23:56] Yep.
[00:23:56] And then there's this other slide.
[00:23:58] Yeah.
[00:23:59] So, I don't think the vat of acid was too deep, apparently, because he turned it back on in the last episode, and all the pirates were able to get out quickly before it filled up, because we saw all of them.
[00:24:13] So, I think that was just deep enough to be preventative.
[00:24:18] Gotcha.
[00:24:19] But, yes, we did definitely go down into the lair, and then this was down below the lair.
[00:24:24] So, I would guess, and they were on that slide for quite some time, so I wouldn't say that the lair was halfway down.
[00:24:31] If you looked up at the landing pad, it was probably three-quarters of the way up, and then they had a nice, fun slide all the way down.
[00:24:38] It did make me laugh when each kid came out of a different tube at the end.
[00:24:42] Like mini golf.
[00:24:43] Like mini golf.
[00:24:45] Oh, that was the hole-in-one.
[00:24:47] My ball came out of that one over there.
[00:24:49] Nope.
[00:24:50] Great.
[00:24:51] In the water hazard.
[00:24:52] Into the water.
[00:24:52] That's right where mine always goes.
[00:24:54] Um, so we see that, and then KD comes out, and all her circuits are fried.
[00:25:00] She's just laying there.
[00:25:01] She's not moving.
[00:25:02] Uh, I wanted somebody to say she's more machine than man now.
[00:25:07] I was hoping for that line as well.
[00:25:09] That we didn't get that.
[00:25:10] Uh, and then, um, she sits up, and she's talking about her cybernetics acting up.
[00:25:15] She calls them her augs for her augmentations.
[00:25:19] Um, and we do find out more about her augmentations later.
[00:25:23] Uh, and then it cuts to the credits, and then coming out of the credits was a great scene of Jod coming out of the sewer.
[00:25:30] Just like, going back to the Goonies, just like the, uh, the family.
[00:25:36] What was her name?
[00:25:37] The Fratellis.
[00:25:38] Yeah, the Fratellis.
[00:25:39] Yes.
[00:25:39] Just like the Fratellis coming out, all covered in jewels and chains and gold and everything like that when the police see him.
[00:25:45] And I thought it was funny, he sees all of the rich folk and the lady who is the concierge, I guess, of the, uh, the theme park, the casino, the mud, whatever they call that, the spa, I guess it would be.
[00:26:04] And he's like, oh, don't worry.
[00:26:06] I can pay for it here with all this gold.
[00:26:08] And then you hear Urkel behind him, and he's like, no, I don't think so.
[00:26:13] So, uh, so I'm amazed with all of those goodies in that treasure trove.
[00:26:17] There wasn't a satchel.
[00:26:19] Mm-hmm.
[00:26:20] There wasn't, there wasn't a crate that they could easily carry up in.
[00:26:24] Easily put some stuff in.
[00:26:25] Yeah.
[00:26:25] Yeah.
[00:26:26] Um, have you no pockets on those costumes?
[00:26:28] Well, we know they don't have zippers, so I guess they don't have pockets either.
[00:26:32] Um, I was even hoping for more Easter eggs in the gold.
[00:26:36] Like, I wanted to see the arc of the, um, from Indiana Jones.
[00:26:41] What was...
[00:26:42] That was there.
[00:26:42] Was it there?
[00:26:43] It was in there?
[00:26:44] The arc of the coven was in the lair.
[00:26:46] Okay, good.
[00:26:47] Because I was like, that's gotta be in there.
[00:26:49] Uh, other, like, gold things.
[00:26:51] Like, even like a, uh, like a C-3PO head somewhere in the back, but a gold one maybe, or something
[00:26:57] like that.
[00:26:58] Like, I was really hoping for a good breakdown of all the stuff, and I couldn't really see
[00:27:02] all of it.
[00:27:03] So you did see it, so that's good.
[00:27:04] And what's funny about the arc of the covenant, yes, we know it was from Indiana Jones, but
[00:27:09] they also tucked that into one of the, um, Clone Wars episodes in one of the earlier seasons.
[00:27:14] Yeah.
[00:27:15] Yeah.
[00:27:15] Yeah.
[00:27:15] So we've, we've seen it now twice in Star Wars, which, you know, obviously means that,
[00:27:19] um, we're canon.
[00:27:21] So that's pretty cool.
[00:27:23] So, and then he goes...
[00:27:24] And I don't know about you, but I also had a little bit of, uh, B.A. Baracus vibes from
[00:27:28] the A-Team.
[00:27:30] Yeah.
[00:27:30] When he came out and he had layer upon layer upon layer on top of him.
[00:27:33] Yeah.
[00:27:33] I could definitely see that.
[00:27:34] I pity the fool.
[00:27:35] Who doesn't get me back to my ship?
[00:27:37] Take me back to my ship now, fool.
[00:27:38] I pity the fool.
[00:27:39] Yeah.
[00:27:40] Oh, that would've been great.
[00:27:41] Um, but then Urkel's like, nope.
[00:27:44] And then, uh, Merida, she was like, uh, I got your bounty.
[00:27:49] She gave him a little kiss on the cheek.
[00:27:51] He tried to talk his way out of it, which is pretty fun.
[00:27:54] He is a, he is a fast talker.
[00:27:56] He is a good, uh, new version of Han Solo.
[00:27:59] Um, I feel he, he has a lot of the same qualities that Han Solo has with him trying to talk his
[00:28:05] way out of and make people think that he's slicker and fancier than he really is.
[00:28:09] Um, she called him another name.
[00:28:11] She called him, she had, she has called him, they called him Mad Jack, um, Dash Renar.
[00:28:17] Um, he has, he has a lot of aliases.
[00:28:21] Um, I'm trying to think what other show.
[00:28:26] Maybe like a James Bond where he does.
[00:28:29] James Bond doesn't have a lot of aliases, but I'm trying to think there's definitely another
[00:28:32] like spy show or something like that where somebody has like lots and lots of aliases.
[00:28:37] I feel like that's.
[00:28:38] Well, even if you talk about the Michael Myers, Austin Powers kind of thing where it has all
[00:28:43] those aliases.
[00:28:44] Yeah.
[00:28:44] And have you picked up on, on, um, Jod slacks?
[00:28:48] Yes.
[00:28:49] On the side of his pants.
[00:28:50] He has the, the, the Han Solo.
[00:28:52] The Han Solo red stripes down it.
[00:28:53] Yeah.
[00:28:54] Yeah.
[00:28:54] So they're definitely, uh, a little bit of, of an homage to Han Solo with all that stuff.
[00:28:59] So, yeah.
[00:29:00] And then, um, the girl who's white mohawk, white skin, white eyes.
[00:29:05] I don't know if you picked up on that.
[00:29:07] She's the voice of Merida.
[00:29:09] Um, so she, she's still there.
[00:29:11] So she's done.
[00:29:12] I was thinking about how long it would take for her to get made up for every, uh, scene.
[00:29:20] So you're probably looking in the, uh, in the makeup chair for three to four hours would
[00:29:25] be my guess.
[00:29:26] Oh, good as easily.
[00:29:28] Yeah.
[00:29:28] I'm hoping that because she was in that scene for like that long.
[00:29:32] I'm hoping they filmed that scene the same day that she was filming her other scene.
[00:29:37] It makes me wonder about that because when they were pitching this show, it was originally
[00:29:43] meant to be, it was pitched as a movie and then Favreau said, Oh, I'd love to produce
[00:29:48] it.
[00:29:48] And then they ended up dividing it up into a show.
[00:29:51] So I am to your point wondering how many of these bits were filmed by each director or
[00:29:58] were they involved in theirs?
[00:29:59] Okay.
[00:30:00] I'm going to take this bit and put it into mine and take this bit and put it into
[00:30:03] mine because this show has, I think four, four, five different directors.
[00:30:07] I, I, I'm sure it's one of those two, but yes, I know like the, even like the first four
[00:30:12] episodes were all directed by different people.
[00:30:14] So there could be, uh, cause we've had John waters or John Watts, sorry, John Watts.
[00:30:21] Um, the Daniels, we had a Jake sheer.
[00:30:25] He's going to be directing an episode, Bryce Dallas Howard.
[00:30:28] So that's, that's, that's five.
[00:30:30] If you count the Daniels together and there was one other person, but the name escapes me.
[00:30:34] I'm trying to look.
[00:30:35] And this is, this is all in, in an eight episode.
[00:30:38] Yeah.
[00:30:39] In an eight episode show.
[00:30:40] Yeah.
[00:30:41] Uh, Oh, here we go.
[00:30:42] Here's directors.
[00:30:42] All right.
[00:30:43] So John waters, David Lowerly directed two episodes.
[00:30:46] John Watts directed two episodes.
[00:30:49] David Lowerly.
[00:30:50] Yeah.
[00:30:50] Bryce Dallas Howard directed this one episode.
[00:30:53] Uh, Daniel Kwan directed one episode or will direct one episode.
[00:30:57] Daniel Schneider.
[00:31:00] He did one episode.
[00:31:01] Jake Schreier.
[00:31:02] They did, they did the episode together.
[00:31:04] Okay.
[00:31:05] Same guys who, who did everything everywhere all at once.
[00:31:09] Oh yes.
[00:31:10] Yeah.
[00:31:10] My son loves that movie by the way.
[00:31:12] And Lee Isaac Chung directed one episode as well.
[00:31:15] So we have one, two, three, four, five, six, seven different directors for eight episodes.
[00:31:22] And like you said, two guys did one, two of the guys directed two episodes each.
[00:31:27] So yeah, you got to think, you got to wonder, do they all sit down in a room together beforehand
[00:31:32] and say, you know, who's doing what I can, when she's doing this, can I take her to do
[00:31:38] this and blah, blah, blah, whatever.
[00:31:39] Because it just seems then again, you know, whatever, um, that it's a, it would be a waste
[00:31:45] for, I would be me personally.
[00:31:48] I mean, I'm sure I'm getting paid an extra day to be there, but I would be like, wait,
[00:31:52] you mean I got to sit in a chair for three, four more hours, getting all this makeup on
[00:31:57] to stand in this scene for 10 seconds and to walk up to him, give him a kiss and walk
[00:32:02] away.
[00:32:02] That's it.
[00:32:02] Like really my whole day.
[00:32:04] But you know, for that day, they're probably making more than I make in a year.
[00:32:07] So good for them.
[00:32:08] Yeah, perhaps.
[00:32:09] Yeah.
[00:32:10] So, all right.
[00:32:11] So then he goes, I hope we get to a place that I'm sorry for talking about Bryce Dallas
[00:32:14] Howard.
[00:32:15] I hope we get to a place where we can finally just start saying, and this is Bryce Dallas
[00:32:20] Howard without having to say she's the daughter of Ron Howard.
[00:32:23] She's the daughter of Ron Howard.
[00:32:24] Yeah.
[00:32:25] Like I think, I think she has done enough amazing things on her own to not need that connection
[00:32:29] to her pops.
[00:32:31] Yeah.
[00:32:31] Her dad is fantastic.
[00:32:32] Don't get me wrong.
[00:32:33] I've been watching his stuff since, since the happy days.
[00:32:35] And, um, who was, uh, uh, Opie Andy Griffith show.
[00:32:39] Yeah.
[00:32:40] Yeah.
[00:32:40] Not that I watched it when originally came out, but I've been watching him for a really long
[00:32:43] time, but I don't think Bryce anymore needs to have the world know that she's no, she
[00:32:47] has, she has definitely done enough.
[00:32:49] I mean, just the fact that she was in Jurassic Park is all you really need to know.
[00:32:53] I mean, that's it there.
[00:32:54] Um, but yeah.
[00:32:55] Yeah.
[00:32:56] So, uh, yes, we don't need to remind people who her dad is.
[00:33:01] She's, she's good on her own.
[00:33:02] Um, so then as they're taking them, taking him away, X wings come and start attacking and,
[00:33:12] uh, the kids were like, Oh, Oh, the X wings.
[00:33:15] Oh, they're the good guys.
[00:33:17] And it's, it's interesting how they are getting lied to all the time.
[00:33:24] Like John lied has constantly lied to them about 17 different things probably at this point.
[00:33:29] Um, so they're like, Oh wait.
[00:33:31] And it was funny.
[00:33:32] I was watching a screen crush and they said, sure.
[00:33:36] Or the, uh, the police come when the rich people have a problem, which, uh, which is
[00:33:42] pretty funny.
[00:33:43] I was like, yeah, which is even funnier when you think about which rich people we're talking
[00:33:47] about.
[00:33:47] Yeah.
[00:33:48] We're talking about the huts and the banking clan.
[00:33:50] Yeah.
[00:33:50] They're the rich people.
[00:33:51] The baddest people that there are, are the richest people that are there.
[00:33:54] Um, and on that platform also before they took off were a whole bunch of characters that
[00:34:02] were in the casino, um, from the movies.
[00:34:06] So all those rich people all hang out at all the same places together, all those bad banking
[00:34:11] clan, rich people.
[00:34:12] So, um, and I have a weird, have you ever heard of the game?
[00:34:16] Um, seven degrees of Kevin Bacon.
[00:34:17] Yes.
[00:34:18] So I have a different kind of game.
[00:34:21] Uh, it's just seven degrees of star Wars.
[00:34:23] So you know that I'm friends with Mike Hinton and we do a show together.
[00:34:27] His daughter is in the Mandalorian Mercs and is currently living in California.
[00:34:31] And she is friends with one of the people who played the Mon Cal that was on that stand.
[00:34:38] No way.
[00:34:39] That's awesome.
[00:34:40] Yeah.
[00:34:40] His name is John Rodriguez.
[00:34:41] He's a member of the 501st and a bunch of other star Wars costuming clubs.
[00:34:45] And, uh, so he's also a podcaster.
[00:34:47] His show is the, it's him and four other guys.
[00:34:50] It's called the dad batch.
[00:34:51] Okay.
[00:34:51] And so he was in those, the last two episodes, five and six, just as that Mon Calmar as
[00:34:57] or Mon Cal with the, the, the fluffy layer around him.
[00:35:00] That's awesome.
[00:35:00] That's that.
[00:35:01] And that's Nick and I have said it almost every episode.
[00:35:04] That's what we want.
[00:35:06] I want, I don't need any lines.
[00:35:08] I just want to be that guy that was there in the background who was, you know, just standing
[00:35:12] there, whatever.
[00:35:13] I mean, we could go to cons.
[00:35:15] He can now go to, go to cons for the rest of his life and be like signing his autograph.
[00:35:19] Oh my God.
[00:35:20] You were awesome as the Mon Cal with the furry thing and whatever.
[00:35:23] So yeah, like I would love that.
[00:35:25] That would, that's all I'm asking for is just, but don't even need a named character.
[00:35:29] No, no, not at all.
[00:35:31] Eventually I'll, I'll get a name if my character stands out enough.
[00:35:35] Um, the, uh, will row hood got a name, didn't have one for 20 years and he finally got one.
[00:35:42] Um, so yeah.
[00:35:44] So then, um, so they, they see the X-wing shooting down the pirates realized I lied to them.
[00:35:52] Surprisingly, they did not see the kids are like, wait, come down.
[00:35:54] We're down here.
[00:35:55] I was like, surprisingly, they didn't see the kids all the way down in the bottom of that
[00:35:58] valley.
[00:35:59] It's interesting.
[00:36:00] Um, and then Katie tells the kids that are cybernetic, uh, memorize the coordinates so
[00:36:06] that she can get home.
[00:36:07] She's like, Oh, it's a good thing.
[00:36:08] I have these coordinates right here in my brain.
[00:36:10] And they're like, awesome.
[00:36:12] Let's get to the ship, which is all the way up there.
[00:36:15] And, uh, Fern says, perfect.
[00:36:17] Let's climb back to our ship.
[00:36:18] Katie says, it's impossible.
[00:36:19] Fern tells Katie, this is the only way the Fern says she doesn't think, or Fern tells,
[00:36:26] tells KD, KB.
[00:36:27] I keep saying KD, KB.
[00:36:29] That she doesn't think Neil could do it.
[00:36:31] So how, how are we going to talk Neil into climbing up this cliff?
[00:36:34] And that's when KB says, that's not the only option.
[00:36:37] And now you see the breakdown of Fern, the spoiled kid who has gotten everything she wanted
[00:36:44] her whole life.
[00:36:45] And now suddenly KB is telling her, no, I can't do this.
[00:36:49] Um, and we also find out more why KB has never said no to her before, because she was
[00:36:54] afraid that if she stands up to Fern, that she will, uh, not be friends with her anymore.
[00:37:01] And then she won't have any friends again.
[00:37:03] Um, so she finally stands up to her, not because she wants to, but because she knows that her
[00:37:09] cybernetics are shutting down and she won't be able to climb this.
[00:37:13] So it's a great episode, uh, especially for people with disabilities of some sort.
[00:37:19] And even like kids with disabilities to see that, you know, you're not always limited
[00:37:25] in your stuff.
[00:37:26] She's able to, she can do things that they couldn't do.
[00:37:30] And it's the same thing.
[00:37:31] You know, you may not be able to walk as well, but maybe your brain is stronger or things
[00:37:35] like that.
[00:37:35] So it's great for, for kids with disabilities to see, Oh, I can be just as important and
[00:37:42] just as valuable as Fern who can climb up this wall.
[00:37:46] No problem.
[00:37:47] Um, so, uh, so yeah, so they have a little breakdown and actually with that in mind, I do want to
[00:37:53] mention, so we've been watching star Wars since the seventies and we've, you know, put
[00:37:57] ourselves into the movie as characters and whether we played with our action figures or
[00:38:02] dressed up as them, or even just watching the movie saying, what would it be like to
[00:38:05] be Han Solo?
[00:38:06] We're now talking about a star Wars movie that's featuring children.
[00:38:11] It's, it's a much shorter leap for a 10 year old to think about what it's like to be another
[00:38:17] 10 year old than it is for a 10 year old to say, I want to be like 19 year old Luke Skywalker
[00:38:22] or 30 year old Han Solo or whatever.
[00:38:25] Yeah.
[00:38:25] A hundred percent.
[00:38:26] I did.
[00:38:26] And, and finally we have some very good kid acting in star Wars too, because these, these
[00:38:36] kids are doing a phenomenal job of acting.
[00:38:38] Um, even better than I feel was the directors, in my opinion, it was the directors telling
[00:38:45] the actors how to act with the actors and the acolyte were so just straight and boring
[00:38:50] and whatever that I didn't feel the emotion out of them.
[00:38:54] And I know they were playing Jedi.
[00:38:56] So they're supposed to be emotionless, but we've seen Jedi with emotions and things like
[00:39:00] that.
[00:39:00] And they could have, they could have directed them differently, but these kids are, are doing
[00:39:04] a phenomenal job of acting and really showing their emotions and their feelings and all that
[00:39:09] good stuff.
[00:39:10] So for a kid to see this, it would be great.
[00:39:12] I mean, and you know, George Lucas said he wrote star Wars for kids.
[00:39:16] So now it's finally four kids starring kids.
[00:39:18] So it's like a, you can't do that on television, but for star Wars fans.
[00:39:23] Um, so Katie yells at her and says it's not the only option.
[00:39:27] And then the space hermit crabs come over.
[00:39:29] They call them trash crabs.
[00:39:31] Um, I don't know if you, if you watch it with a closed captioning on, but they call them
[00:39:36] trash crabs.
[00:39:37] And so to me, that's, that's hilarious thinking way back when, cause we, and even the toys
[00:39:43] had made up names.
[00:39:44] You had walrus man and hammerhead and, uh, you know, uh, prune face.
[00:39:50] Right.
[00:39:50] So now we've got King no head and now trash crabs.
[00:39:55] And now those things are real in the star Wars canon.
[00:39:58] Yeah.
[00:40:01] Oh, I can't wait to get the trash crab toys.
[00:40:03] They're going to be my favorite one, but they were fun.
[00:40:06] The leg has on it.
[00:40:08] The leg carrying a leg around.
[00:40:10] The other one was carrying around a, um, the little droid, the little, uh, look like
[00:40:15] a, the shell of a mouse droid.
[00:40:17] Yeah.
[00:40:18] Now somebody else had a, had a C4, like a, like chopper had, had that dome.
[00:40:22] And there was also one that had a storm trooper helmet.
[00:40:25] Yeah.
[00:40:25] Yeah.
[00:40:26] Yeah.
[00:40:26] So it was fun.
[00:40:27] Like, you know, they say when you go down, we could, we say go down the shore.
[00:40:32] I'm pretty sure New Jersey and Philadelphia area are the only ones that say when you go
[00:40:35] down the shore, everybody else says, I guess to the beach or something like that, or do the
[00:40:39] shore.
[00:40:40] I don't know.
[00:40:40] But when we, when you go down the shore and you're walking on the boardwalk and you buy
[00:40:44] that hermit crab and they're like, Hey, you know, they'll take over anything.
[00:40:48] So if you have a, a Coke can that, you know, is, is bigger than the shell, then they'll,
[00:40:54] they'll move into that or whatever.
[00:40:55] And that's exactly what these trash crabs did is they just found pieces of trash to hide
[00:41:00] in.
[00:41:01] And the leg was, I think the leg was the best one.
[00:41:03] Just seeing an upside down foot, just walking was pretty funny.
[00:41:07] Um, and then, uh, spoiled fern says we need to climb.
[00:41:11] Wim says, no, you'll get hurt.
[00:41:13] I did like women in this.
[00:41:14] He's like, no, you're going to fall and break every bone in your body.
[00:41:17] No, I won't.
[00:41:17] Yes, you will.
[00:41:18] No, I won't.
[00:41:18] Yes, you will.
[00:41:19] Yeah.
[00:41:19] That was probably the equivalent of you'll shoot your eye out.
[00:41:22] That was, that was as close as I think we're going to get.
[00:41:25] You'll fall down and break every bone in your body, every bone in your body.
[00:41:28] And then, and then they should have kicked her down the slide longer like Santa did.
[00:41:33] You'll shoot your eye out.
[00:41:35] Um, and then Neil, the total pacifist comes in and is like, stop fighting.
[00:41:40] Why does everybody have to fight everywhere?
[00:41:41] He goes.
[00:41:42] He's stopping people from fighting.
[00:41:43] He stopped a, or he tried to talk to the girl on the last planet at.
[00:41:48] It wasn't Akron.
[00:41:49] Akron.
[00:41:50] Yeah.
[00:41:50] On Akron saying, you know, well, can't you just stop fighting?
[00:41:54] Like, so, um, he's going to be a good, uh, a good pacifist.
[00:41:58] Says he gets older.
[00:42:00] Um, so they don't.
[00:42:01] Wim wants to follow the crabs because of course crabs can talk.
[00:42:06] So, um, you know, they have to be intelligent and they're going to show him the way home.
[00:42:11] Um, and then Fern wants to climb because the ship is right there.
[00:42:15] Katie says she's with Wim.
[00:42:17] Neil says, oh, I guess we should, we should take two different paths.
[00:42:20] That's fine.
[00:42:21] And then, um, the neat thing was I thought Smee, SM33.
[00:42:27] I thought he was stop motion, but there was an article on starwars.com about how he's like a giant marionette.
[00:42:35] Did you, did you read this article or did you see?
[00:42:36] He's a rod puppet.
[00:42:38] Just like a C-3PO was in the Phantom Menace.
[00:42:40] Yeah.
[00:42:40] So it's, it's pretty cool.
[00:42:42] Um, so I thought he was stop motion, but these crabs are stop motion.
[00:42:47] Even big mama crab is all done using stop motion.
[00:42:51] So I'm happy that they did get some stop motion into this because that is one of my favorite forms of, uh, cartooning and animation.
[00:42:58] Um, speaking of starwars.com, did you see the, the little video that they put out about that, that giant trash crab?
[00:43:05] Yeah.
[00:43:06] How they were making it.
[00:43:07] It's so, I love, I love when you see the behind the scenes in sped up fashion, but you see the guy moving in around the time lapse.
[00:43:14] Yeah.
[00:43:15] Yeah.
[00:43:15] And so, you know, so our buddy Phil who did the tauntauns and the adats also helped with this and the name of that giant crab.
[00:43:23] Did you pick up on the name?
[00:43:24] No, I did not.
[00:43:25] T E T N I S S tetanus.
[00:43:29] No, that is awesome because.
[00:43:34] And then connected to the shell, there's an R2D2 and a C-3PO.
[00:43:38] Nice.
[00:43:39] Look at that.
[00:43:40] All the things that are hidden.
[00:43:41] And I, this is why the show is great because they're not shoving it down your throat.
[00:43:45] They have all these nostalgic nuggets in there, but they're not bringing it.
[00:43:50] Yeah.
[00:43:50] You just got to look.
[00:43:52] It's there.
[00:43:52] If you want to see it, you can.
[00:43:55] If you don't, you'll skip right over it.
[00:43:57] Like I didn't see the arc in the gold room and it was there.
[00:44:00] Um, and the music gets awesome because the music during this part where they're fighting, it's very quiet, very serious, very subtle.
[00:44:09] And then the music gets very piratey when it cuts into the next scene and you see the pirate ships flying into the old medical base from the clone wars.
[00:44:18] It goes flying into there.
[00:44:20] Um, so I did like, I do like the pirate music going along with it.
[00:44:26] Um, Wolfman decides that the mad captain Silvo needs to go to death by walking the plank.
[00:44:35] Um, not necessarily closest to it in space, the space walking of the plank, which is, uh, going out the airlock.
[00:44:42] Um, hold on one second.
[00:44:48] Uh, sorry.
[00:44:51] Right in the middle of the show, my daughter's at work and she needs to get picked up and, um, I can't.
[00:44:56] So I told her to text her brother or mother.
[00:44:59] One of them will pick them up.
[00:45:00] All right.
[00:45:00] Back to, back to star Wars.
[00:45:03] Um, so yeah.
[00:45:04] So he says, you know, you got to go out the airlock.
[00:45:08] And right before that, the lady's name is Dale souls and her character name is chalet.
[00:45:15] C H A E L T.
[00:45:19] I'm not very good with whatever.
[00:45:22] So shallot, shallot, shallot, shallot, maybe.
[00:45:26] Yeah.
[00:45:26] Is there a silent seven in there?
[00:45:28] There's a silent seven and two backwards ease in there.
[00:45:31] Uh, it reminds them of the pirate code.
[00:45:34] And I love the fact, and this goes with all pirates.
[00:45:38] You know, you think of pirates and they're just these bad people that just, you know, rob ships and blah, blah, blah, whatever.
[00:45:44] But they, they have their own pirate code.
[00:45:47] And I love that.
[00:45:48] She's like, remind, she reminds him of the pirate code and that, um, he needs his equal time.
[00:45:55] He needs to defend himself.
[00:45:56] And I want to know, like, who wrote this down?
[00:46:00] Because to me, the pirate code is like when you were kids playing like freeze tag or hide and seek.
[00:46:05] And you would just like, nope, safety.
[00:46:07] Safety.
[00:46:07] Yeah.
[00:46:07] This fire hydrant, because I touched it.
[00:46:09] It's safe.
[00:46:10] You can't, you can't get me because I'm touching this fire hydrant.
[00:46:12] Right.
[00:46:13] Like who writes down all these rules?
[00:46:14] The other fight was really like, why does everybody agree to follow them?
[00:46:18] We're in the middle of getting ready to get rid of this guy.
[00:46:20] Yeah.
[00:46:20] We're going to give him death by, oh no, he is, he, he has to have a time to talk.
[00:46:24] Okay.
[00:46:25] And we're like, all right, fine.
[00:46:26] We'll give him this time to talk.
[00:46:27] Pirate code.
[00:46:27] Yeah.
[00:46:28] Pirate code.
[00:46:28] Yeah.
[00:46:29] The pirate code is there.
[00:46:30] We have to do that.
[00:46:30] Yeah.
[00:46:30] That's, that's what happened.
[00:46:32] So we'll let them talk.
[00:46:33] Uh, so even have the little, the little, um, hourglass there because somebody wrote down,
[00:46:39] you get one, one half of the hourglass.
[00:46:42] Yeah.
[00:46:42] Yeah.
[00:46:42] And, and instead of it being a sand hourglass, since it's an outer space and since it's star
[00:46:47] Wars, it's a plasma hourglass.
[00:46:48] So you got this plasma goo going down instead of, instead of sand going down.
[00:46:54] But, uh, but yeah.
[00:46:55] And, um, Dale Sewell's was also in oranges and new black and she was one of the voices
[00:47:00] in light year, but I don't know which one she was.
[00:47:03] I don't remember.
[00:47:04] I watched the movie once.
[00:47:06] I enjoyed it, but, uh, it wasn't enough that I had to keep watching it.
[00:47:10] So I don't know who she was in there, but anyway,
[00:47:12] was she in Ragnarok too or no?
[00:47:14] So it didn't say an IMDB.
[00:47:16] I don't, that didn't pop out to me, but she could have been, uh, okay.
[00:47:20] So then he has the right to the last appeal on equal time begins.
[00:47:23] And I wrote down, he's a good politician.
[00:47:25] So he's talking about everybody, how, how hungry everybody is.
[00:47:29] We need more credits are scarce.
[00:47:31] What have we had enough?
[00:47:33] And then this was great.
[00:47:34] Imagine glurb.
[00:47:35] Could you could have your own glow weave farm that you've always wanted?
[00:47:39] And not just a little farm.
[00:47:40] You could have the entire ocean.
[00:47:42] And he's like, yeah, I want that.
[00:47:45] So it's great that we learned that, that he is a, uh, he wants to be a farmer.
[00:47:50] He wants to get out of the pirate craft and become a farmer.
[00:47:52] And I agree.
[00:47:53] Yeah.
[00:47:53] I'm just doing this for the money.
[00:47:55] So I can get my, I'm not a pirate.
[00:47:57] Cause I want to hurt anyone.
[00:47:58] No, I'm just, I want to start a farm.
[00:48:00] I want to start a farm.
[00:48:01] And I heard the easiest way to make a lot of money is to become a pirate.
[00:48:04] So there we go.
[00:48:05] Um, he good buddy, glurb, glurb, a good old glurb.
[00:48:08] I want to, I want to meet him in a, at a con.
[00:48:12] Um, so then, uh, Jod shows him the old Republic credits that he has.
[00:48:17] And he says he knows where he makes them.
[00:48:18] Cause he heard it from Takranar.
[00:48:21] And they're like, and then real quickly, Wolfman goes, Takranar is dead.
[00:48:24] And then he starts singing the old pirate shanty for at Atten.
[00:48:29] He did plunder.
[00:48:31] And it was like, everybody was all on board.
[00:48:33] Then let's go.
[00:48:34] Um, who doesn't get behind a good song?
[00:48:37] Right?
[00:48:37] Exactly.
[00:48:37] If you're ever broken out into like sweet Caroline.
[00:48:41] Yeah.
[00:48:41] Oh yeah.
[00:48:42] Or, um, born in the USA.
[00:48:44] Yeah.
[00:48:44] You can get out of any problem just by getting people to sing along with you.
[00:48:47] Bad medicine, bad medicine.
[00:48:49] Yeah.
[00:48:50] Um, in New Jersey, just about any Bon Jovi song will get you out of a fight.
[00:48:55] Yeah.
[00:48:55] It's pretty easy.
[00:48:56] Um, so then, uh, he says, Brutus will make a great first mate.
[00:49:00] Stick with me and I'll give you the whole galaxy.
[00:49:04] I was like, okay.
[00:49:05] And everybody's like, yeah.
[00:49:06] And then Brutus was like, all right, but if we get there and there's no gold out the door, you go.
[00:49:13] So here's a question for you.
[00:49:15] Yeah.
[00:49:15] You may not have an answer, but I want to ask it anyway.
[00:49:17] How much money did Wim have in his sock?
[00:49:22] I know, right?
[00:49:24] Because when his dad put it on the table, I don't remember.
[00:49:27] It was like eight pieces on the table.
[00:49:29] Yeah.
[00:49:30] And supposedly Captain Silvo used some of it to buy that EOPs back.
[00:49:35] Right.
[00:49:36] He gave some of it to the concierge.
[00:49:39] He gave a lot of it to the concierge.
[00:49:41] And now he still has, he threw a piece.
[00:49:43] He threw one into, yeah, threw one into the acid pool.
[00:49:46] And he still had this one to like.
[00:49:48] Like where's he hiding?
[00:49:50] Did he get some of them from the treasure?
[00:49:52] Like it didn't seem like it was endless credits.
[00:49:55] Yeah.
[00:49:55] I don't know if he got any out of the treasure room because he was wearing all the gold chains.
[00:50:00] I wouldn't think, you know.
[00:50:03] But we did see him at one point rummaging through when he was in babysitter mode.
[00:50:08] We did see him rummaging through all the kids stuff.
[00:50:11] So maybe the other kids had some credits for lunch money also.
[00:50:15] I don't know.
[00:50:16] I think it's the old revolver, the old six shooter in Westerns that never runs out of bullets.
[00:50:23] Oh, gotcha, yeah.
[00:50:23] Yeah.
[00:50:24] The six shooter that shoots 60 shots.
[00:50:26] 60 shots.
[00:50:26] Yeah.
[00:50:27] I think his eight credits last 900 times.
[00:50:32] Yeah.
[00:50:34] So then, oh, I totally skipped over in the very beginning when John comes out of the thing and he says, 33 attack him and they shoot him before he even gets out of the hole.
[00:50:45] That was great because it was like, oh.
[00:50:47] I hope the pirates took him.
[00:50:49] Yeah.
[00:50:50] I hope they didn't leave him on.
[00:50:51] I'm sure.
[00:50:52] I'm sure.
[00:50:54] What's the actor's name who plays him, who's doing the voice of him?
[00:50:59] Nick Frost.
[00:51:00] Yeah.
[00:51:00] I'm sure Nick Frost is in all eight episodes.
[00:51:03] So I don't think we're going to miss out on that too much.
[00:51:06] Since he's the second biggest name in the show, I'm pretty sure he's going to be somewhere and we're going to see him again in the next episode.
[00:51:14] Jod's probably going to use him to escape from when they get to wherever.
[00:51:18] But yeah, I have a feeling we're going to see him again.
[00:51:22] But the kids see the droid face and wonder how 33 is doing, which I thought was pretty cute.
[00:51:28] They're like, oh, I wonder how 33 is doing right now.
[00:51:31] Okay.
[00:51:31] Then KD starts to shut down and needs help.
[00:51:35] She opens up to Wim about how she will not have any friends again.
[00:51:40] And it was cute.
[00:51:41] He says, oh, this was good directing and editing because just when you get into one part where it starts to get more sincere, we cut to the other two.
[00:51:55] And we see what they're doing real fast.
[00:51:57] And then we cut back to the first two.
[00:51:59] And then we cut back to the other two again.
[00:52:01] And we see that how both groups are having their own trauma and trouble and how both groups have to work through it at the same time.
[00:52:10] Neil and Fern are climbing the wall.
[00:52:12] She's like, just keep going.
[00:52:14] And he's like, I can't.
[00:52:15] And he explains to her, no, not everybody can do things the way you can.
[00:52:20] Spider legs.
[00:52:21] Yeah, with your spider legs.
[00:52:24] There was a lot of really good lines in this episode.
[00:52:28] And then Fern, she realizes that she has to, as a leader, she can't just take care of the best person in the group.
[00:52:36] She has to take care of the slowest and the worst person in the group.
[00:52:39] So then we cut back to that.
[00:52:41] To Wim, he's finding the servo that he needs to take out to help KD.
[00:52:47] They have a great heart to heart about how Fern doesn't think about others.
[00:52:52] KD talks about her accident.
[00:52:54] So now we find out why she has the prosthetics, why she has the, what did she call them all the way back?
[00:53:00] Augmentation.
[00:53:01] The augs.
[00:53:01] Yeah.
[00:53:02] The augs.
[00:53:03] And that she had some kind of an accident.
[00:53:06] And that's what caused her implants.
[00:53:09] And since her implants, she can't do the things that she could normally do.
[00:53:13] And that Fern doesn't understand that.
[00:53:16] And she's afraid that if she stands up to Fern, that Fern won't be her friend.
[00:53:21] And then that's when she says, I will not have any friends again.
[00:53:25] The exact quote.
[00:53:26] I thought it was the.
[00:53:27] I'll have zero friends.
[00:53:28] Zero friends again.
[00:53:29] And that was really cute because Wim says, oh, well, you can be friends with Neil and me.
[00:53:37] Like he is like very nonchalant.
[00:53:39] Very like.
[00:53:40] Well, I have two friends.
[00:53:42] Yeah.
[00:53:42] Then you have two friends.
[00:53:43] You'll double your friends.
[00:53:48] And so I really, I really enjoyed just his innocence in that where he's just like, oh, well, you can be friends with Neil.
[00:53:55] Well, and if we hop back to, speaking of Neil, if we hop back to Neil and Fern, you know, Neil was pretty much saying to Fern similar what KB had been saying.
[00:54:06] Yeah.
[00:54:07] I can't do it.
[00:54:08] Uh-huh.
[00:54:08] I can't do what you want me to do.
[00:54:11] And I think it was potentially in that moment that Fern had to acknowledge.
[00:54:17] I'm now hearing this from two different people.
[00:54:20] Yeah.
[00:54:20] I'm the common denominator.
[00:54:22] Uh-huh.
[00:54:23] I'm the one.
[00:54:23] So I have to figure out a way to help.
[00:54:26] And so she tied the rope to Neil and to herself so that when she did what she needed to do, it was also helping Neil at the same time.
[00:54:35] Yeah.
[00:54:36] And that's what it cuts right back to is them.
[00:54:38] And he even says, this is a much better system, Fern.
[00:54:41] Thank you.
[00:54:42] And so I don't know where they got the rope from, but, you know, there's ropes all over Star Wars apparently now.
[00:54:49] So, yeah.
[00:54:50] So that was good that she is now coming around.
[00:54:54] And it even shows up more at the very end when they're all back together again.
[00:55:00] So then KB and Wim follow the crabs back to a much larger crab that wants to eat them.
[00:55:09] And so he has a great line in this also.
[00:55:12] So, well, he says it right after this.
[00:55:15] So then we cut back to Fern and Neil.
[00:55:17] So they jump onto the ship to the tow truck that's basically taking their ship away to the trash yards, which when we see the trash yards, that what's it called?
[00:55:32] The spa must produce a lot of trash because there were two giant trash trucks that dumped a whole bunch of trash onto the ground there.
[00:55:43] So those rich people are being.
[00:55:44] Well, I'm wondering, you know, we talked about the huts being there and the banking clan.
[00:55:47] Is this some sort of place where they also bring, you know, their victims?
[00:55:52] They bring the people that they want to get rid of.
[00:55:54] So they're throwing away a lot of ships.
[00:55:57] They are.
[00:55:57] Yeah, they're throwing everything away.
[00:55:58] I mean, there was a stormtrooper helmet in the suit.
[00:56:01] A stormtrooper at one point had to have been on that planet to have made it into, you know, you know, the trash crab.
[00:56:08] The trash crab layer.
[00:56:09] Yeah.
[00:56:09] Yeah.
[00:56:10] And he didn't get along very well with a with somebody because he's now down in the pits.
[00:56:18] So and then from there.
[00:56:20] Oh, Fern and Neil jump onto the ship.
[00:56:22] And it was kind of like in the never ending story when he was flying on the giant thing.
[00:56:27] And I found it funny that the truck, the.
[00:56:32] Towemater.
[00:56:33] Towemater had a joystick up on top of it just in case anybody wants to fly it.
[00:56:37] They can.
[00:56:37] It's right there.
[00:56:39] It was like was that Alien Covenant or one of the other alien movies where they they had the joystick on the outside that was controlling part of the ships.
[00:56:48] You're like, OK, yeah, that makes a lot of sense.
[00:56:50] They're like, oh, we got somebody out of here and we need them to control the ship.
[00:56:54] I would just throw a joystick out there.
[00:56:56] It'll be fine.
[00:56:57] So then Fern's trying to steer the truck.
[00:57:00] KB and Wim jump on board as well.
[00:57:01] And then I said, oh, I said, I can see the scene being in Star Tours.
[00:57:06] Like this would be fun to follow this scene in Star Tours.
[00:57:10] You jump in.
[00:57:11] Oh, gosh.
[00:57:12] And you go like right into the mouth of the trash compactor.
[00:57:16] And then you light speed out somehow through the trash compactor.
[00:57:20] That would be fun.
[00:57:20] And you have to see tetanus.
[00:57:21] You have to see that giant trash.
[00:57:22] Oh, yeah.
[00:57:23] Yeah.
[00:57:23] Definitely see tetanus.
[00:57:24] Trash crap.
[00:57:24] Oh, they could they could be like, oh, we're going to we're going to go like you got them behind you there.
[00:57:32] Where DJ Rex can be like, oh, we're going to we're going to go to the to the to the spa now of whatever the planet is.
[00:57:40] I forget the name of it.
[00:57:41] And you go there and then suddenly this giant battles happening all around you.
[00:57:45] And then, you know, whatever.
[00:57:46] And then you see pirates and X-Wings.
[00:57:47] The pirates and X-Wings are fighting over top of you.
[00:57:49] And you see you see tetanus down there and whatever.
[00:57:53] All that fun stuff.
[00:57:54] Yeah.
[00:57:54] So.
[00:57:56] So then Fern runs back to KB.
[00:57:58] This is after they get it landed.
[00:58:01] Great, perfect landing.
[00:58:03] And Fern runs over to KB.
[00:58:05] They have a great heart to heart, which is really nice.
[00:58:07] And the acting once again, these kids acting was really good.
[00:58:10] Like you believe these two girls realized how important each other was to them and that they were best friends.
[00:58:18] And they just both went through separate traumatic experiences at the same time.
[00:58:22] Which we skipped.
[00:58:23] We skipped KB's traumatic experience.
[00:58:26] Oh, yeah.
[00:58:27] Shut down.
[00:58:27] Shut all the way down.
[00:58:29] And had to teach Wim, the super nervous, excited dreamer.
[00:58:38] Yeah, dreamer.
[00:58:38] Had to teach him how to save her life.
[00:58:41] Yeah.
[00:58:42] I skipped.
[00:58:42] I have it right now, but I skipped over.
[00:58:44] You're right.
[00:58:45] It was.
[00:58:46] That was also another great because Wim.
[00:58:49] That was like Wim's moment as well.
[00:58:51] Like, okay.
[00:58:52] And then trying to get it back in.
[00:58:55] And he finally got it back in.
[00:58:56] And I did write down like there's nothing in her head.
[00:59:00] Because that cybernetic thing, when it came out, there was a lot of empty space around that.
[00:59:05] So I don't know.
[00:59:05] I wrote this down.
[00:59:07] I said he pours into the mold of the old bar.
[00:59:10] Then he puts it back in her head and starts to panic.
[00:59:12] She fades.
[00:59:13] And then after her Windows 95 system restarts, she comes back online and walks away.
[00:59:18] Okay.
[00:59:19] So, yeah.
[00:59:22] Yeah.
[00:59:22] That was a very good scene.
[00:59:24] I did enjoy that as well.
[00:59:25] And then at the very end, they crash it, land it, whatever you want to call it.
[00:59:30] KB and Fern have a good heart to heart.
[00:59:32] You're my best friend.
[00:59:32] You're my best friend.
[00:59:33] And Fern, I think, is now becoming a better leader.
[00:59:37] And then they hear something.
[00:59:39] They look up over the hill and they see this giant walking trash incinerator coming to gobble up their ship.
[00:59:46] I.E. Toy Story.
[00:59:49] I mean, that Toy Story 3, when they're falling down and holding hands with each other,
[00:59:54] like there wasn't a dry eye in the theater.
[00:59:57] I can tell you that right now.
[00:59:59] And this was great also for KB.
[01:00:02] This was her big shining moment as well when they're like, I wish we knew how to start this thing.
[01:00:08] And KB's like, I think I saw him do it once.
[01:00:11] I think it goes something like this.
[01:00:12] And she's like, how many buttons do you have to push to start that ship?
[01:00:17] All the buttons in a very specific order.
[01:00:20] Holy.
[01:00:20] Like trying to play Simon on the extreme level.
[01:00:23] Yes.
[01:00:24] Holy cow.
[01:00:25] There's buttons in front of her.
[01:00:27] There were buttons above her.
[01:00:28] And then even after all that, the engine still weren't starting.
[01:00:33] And she had to go jump them in the back, which was fun because then Neil was like, who's going to fly it?
[01:00:38] Well, of course you are, Neil, because you did that before.
[01:00:43] So they do all that.
[01:00:45] KB's flying.
[01:00:46] She's trying to start the engines.
[01:00:48] And they realize they're still not getting away.
[01:00:50] So then Wim goes up and tries to do his best Luke Skywalker.
[01:00:54] He gets into the cannons and starts firing away on it.
[01:00:58] But the thing is too monstrous.
[01:01:00] And he's like, it's not doing anything.
[01:01:02] It's too invincible.
[01:01:03] That's right.
[01:01:05] And they can't take off because they're stuck.
[01:01:08] They finally get the jets running.
[01:01:10] Now, I don't know if you noticed.
[01:01:12] I also went back to episode one just to make sure that I saw this right.
[01:01:17] But the engines, the entire show, all six episodes so far, were firing.
[01:01:26] They were red.
[01:01:28] And then at the very end, when they blew off the hull, they went from red to blue engines as well.
[01:01:36] The flames changed colors.
[01:01:38] And now the flames coming out were blue as opposed to red, which I'm sure has some color symbolism in there as well.
[01:01:46] But they pushed the button that no one was told they were ever allowed to hit.
[01:01:52] Don't touch this button ever, except for now.
[01:01:57] Which is like Men in Black, which is like The Last Starfighter.
[01:02:02] So many of those movies where it's like, yeah, don't push that button.
[01:02:05] Why do I have this button?
[01:02:06] Why do I have a button that I'm not supposed to push ever?
[01:02:09] But, oh, maybe for this time right now.
[01:02:11] Here we go.
[01:02:12] Boom.
[01:02:14] So they pushed it and it shedded the hull like a snake or a reptile shedding its skin.
[01:02:21] It was a neat scene.
[01:02:22] I did enjoy it.
[01:02:23] I also enjoyed how now the ship coming out of the hull was so nice and slick and smooth and shiny because all the...
[01:02:33] I'm sure you noticed it in the previous episodes and stuff.
[01:02:37] Like whenever that ship, when it was just floating there in space, there was just a cloud of dust like pig pen all around it.
[01:02:44] Right.
[01:02:44] And when it landed at the spa, like parts fell off of it.
[01:02:47] And it was like you could tell this thing was old, beat up, you know, relic from hundreds of years.
[01:02:54] The ship could have been from hundreds of years ago.
[01:02:56] Well, I'm also wondering, too, you know, considering that it was owned by pirates, did they just keep adding on stuff?
[01:03:04] Do you ever see the robot chicken episode where they were making fun of Vader's force choke?
[01:03:10] Okay, yeah.
[01:03:10] So it doesn't really kill anybody, but we just put on a costume and...
[01:03:14] And another person just...
[01:03:15] Yeah, uh-huh.
[01:03:16] Yeah.
[01:03:16] So just keep adding all of this stuff before you recognize the ship anymore.
[01:03:21] Yeah.
[01:03:21] And I think that's what they were doing.
[01:03:23] Every time they got a little bit of money, they added more protection here or there.
[01:03:28] Or once they captured another ship, they took something else and put it on there.
[01:03:32] Kind of like the Millennial Falcon, which has been, you know, updated and changed.
[01:03:36] And so many different things have been put on top of it to make it...
[01:03:40] That if you take one system out now, the whole thing falls apart because they're so intertwined.
[01:03:45] And so many patches on patches on patches.
[01:03:49] But yeah, so they hit the button that you were told in episode two to never touch.
[01:03:55] Um, and it sheds the skin.
[01:03:58] They come out.
[01:03:59] The jets change color to blue.
[01:04:01] They fly away.
[01:04:03] And KD now is going to put in the coordinates so that they can get home.
[01:04:09] And very happy ending.
[01:04:11] The end.
[01:04:12] That's the end of the series.
[01:04:15] Nope.
[01:04:15] There's two more episodes to go, which is good.
[01:04:17] Because now we're going to see what really happens when everybody gets to add in.
[01:04:24] I'm pretty excited about it.
[01:04:26] Um, even though this episode was short, it had a lot of great storytelling in it.
[01:04:31] Great heartfelt storytelling.
[01:04:32] You really get to...
[01:04:33] The kids bonded together better.
[01:04:35] Which I knew in the beginning.
[01:04:37] Like, they were so different in the beginning.
[01:04:40] That you knew that they had to have this moment when they all, you know, were able to get together.
[01:04:45] Now, it'll be interesting if they beat the pirates to the planet.
[01:04:48] Or if the pirates beat them there.
[01:04:50] Like, what will be the conflict?
[01:04:52] They get home.
[01:04:53] They tell them, Mom, pirates are coming.
[01:04:54] Oh, stop it.
[01:04:55] We're just happy that you're here.
[01:04:57] Go to your room because you're grounded now.
[01:04:59] But no, Mom, there's pirates.
[01:05:01] You know, like, what's going to happen when they get back to At-Aden is what's going to be interesting to see what happens.
[01:05:08] So, here's my question for you.
[01:05:10] Yes.
[01:05:10] Who is the supervisor?
[01:05:13] That's a great question.
[01:05:15] I think...
[01:05:17] And if you look at the pirate that's in the hologram.
[01:05:23] Tad, whatever his name was.
[01:05:25] Renard.
[01:05:26] Tad Renard, yes.
[01:05:28] He looks...
[01:05:30] If you look at the elbow, it's the same elbow joint that 33 has.
[01:05:37] So, it could be...
[01:05:40] Screen Crush said that what he thinks they did is whoever Tad Renard is, he told 33 that he was actually the captain.
[01:05:52] And by 33 being the captain, nobody was going to challenge him for the captainship.
[01:05:59] Because who's going to challenge that robot that can just power punch you into the next galaxy?
[01:06:07] So, he thinks that's who it is, who Tad Renard is.
[01:06:10] And other people think that Tad Renard is the supervisor at At-Aden.
[01:06:15] Like, he did get there.
[01:06:17] And he realized, oh, I can stay here and make all this money.
[01:06:22] Other people think that it is a robot himself.
[01:06:25] Or there is no robot.
[01:06:27] It's just like the computer is now running everything.
[01:06:31] Kind of like Hal from 2001.
[01:06:34] Gotcha.
[01:06:35] Gotcha.
[01:06:36] And nobody looks behind the curtain.
[01:06:37] And nobody's looking behind the curtain like in Oz.
[01:06:39] The Wizard of Oz is just a little midget guy.
[01:06:42] So, yeah.
[01:06:44] I don't know.
[01:06:44] I think...
[01:06:47] I think it's definitely got to be a robot at this point.
[01:06:52] Because all of the robots, the one-eyed robots, are the ones that are basically keeping the peace and keeping everybody in line.
[01:07:01] And everybody's afraid of them.
[01:07:03] So, I think it's a robot who's leading them.
[01:07:05] It would be interesting if it was another SM-33.
[01:07:11] But maybe like a girl SM-33 who...
[01:07:15] A sheesh me?
[01:07:16] A sheesh me.
[01:07:17] Yeah.
[01:07:18] Because they said something about the...
[01:07:21] He had a concubine.
[01:07:22] A concubine.
[01:07:23] Yeah.
[01:07:23] So, if SM-33 was the concubine to the female pirate leader robot, that would have been pretty funny.
[01:07:31] Okay.
[01:07:31] So, I don't know.
[01:07:32] I'm grabbing at straws here.
[01:07:34] I'm not really sure.
[01:07:37] It will...
[01:07:37] There's definitely something bad going on on that planet.
[01:07:41] And we're going to find that out.
[01:07:43] Because we've already seen that the people are afraid of the supervisor.
[01:07:47] Nobody wants to...
[01:07:48] And we haven't seen after they tried to plug their USB drive in.
[01:07:53] We haven't seen anything in this past episode about the parents and what's going on on the planet.
[01:07:58] So...
[01:07:58] And there's only one portion that we haven't seen that was in the trailer.
[01:08:02] We haven't seen the parents' hologram message.
[01:08:08] I thought in the trailer there was a message from the parents saying, you know, be safe or whatever.
[01:08:13] Okay.
[01:08:13] And I don't think we've seen that in the show yet.
[01:08:16] Yeah.
[01:08:17] Yeah.
[01:08:17] So, if that...
[01:08:18] Yeah.
[01:08:19] Because we haven't seen that.
[01:08:21] So, that would be interesting if that...
[01:08:22] And maybe they're saying that to the rest of the planet, not necessarily to the kids.
[01:08:27] Oh, good point.
[01:08:29] I didn't think of that either.
[01:08:30] Yeah.
[01:08:30] Here's another wild question.
[01:08:32] Yes.
[01:08:33] Do you think it's possible that these kids and or these pirates could somehow meet up with the Mandalorian and Grogu?
[01:08:42] Could those two worlds collide?
[01:08:45] Because Vane was...
[01:08:47] He was one of Gorian Shard's pirates and he flipped out, left Navarro and joined up with Brutus and Silvo.
[01:08:57] Silvo?
[01:08:59] I think it would...
[01:09:01] I don't think we need to see that happen.
[01:09:04] I think if we do see that happen, it would be like season two or season three.
[01:09:08] Okay.
[01:09:09] I hope we don't see that happen now.
[01:09:11] Just like with the Mandalorian, I was really hoping that we would never see a Skywalker or any buddy from the rest of...
[01:09:22] That we already knew type of thing.
[01:09:24] Like, Skywalkers mostly or like any, you know, stuff like that.
[01:09:28] Like, they didn't need that.
[01:09:29] We didn't need to see Luke.
[01:09:30] When he came, it was awesome and it worked out perfectly because Grogu was trying to find, you know, a teacher, a Jedi Master.
[01:09:39] So that was fine.
[01:09:39] But we didn't need anybody like that to come and save the day until Grogu needed a Jedi Master.
[01:09:48] Gotcha.
[01:09:49] So I don't...
[01:09:51] And as much as I love the Mandalorian, I don't think I want to see the Mandalorian in this.
[01:09:56] What about you?
[01:09:56] Do you think we're going to see that?
[01:09:58] In the season, Papa, to your point, I think it is possible later on.
[01:10:03] Because I think this one has legs.
[01:10:06] I think this one...
[01:10:08] I mean, after all, these are kids now.
[01:10:10] Yeah.
[01:10:11] And we know there's more growth for them to do.
[01:10:14] We know there's a bigger galaxy.
[01:10:15] We know that something's going on, like you said, on Aten that hasn't been released to the galaxy.
[01:10:25] It hasn't been connected to the galaxy.
[01:10:26] And I don't know how many more secret places they can create.
[01:10:29] There's the secret island of Pabu from the Bad Batch where they're all hiding.
[01:10:34] There's now this entire secret planet that has a shell around it, for lack of better words.
[01:10:40] But one of the things I'm so impressed with the show, and we've talked about it a little bit,
[01:10:45] is that it's a show focused on kids.
[01:10:47] And we're able to see in a very short period of time growth, development, understanding, challenge.
[01:10:55] Yeah.
[01:10:56] And it's coming from kids in Star Wars.
[01:10:59] Yeah.
[01:10:59] The only thing that I'm afraid of, well, not afraid of, but the only thing that I'm not, whatever,
[01:11:05] I'm going to be disappointed in is, and it's the same thing that happened with Stranger Things.
[01:11:12] It's such a good show, but it's two years in between each season because of just the shooting and style
[01:11:22] and the way that things are.
[01:11:24] So these 11-year-olds, they're like 11 and 12 now.
[01:11:28] Now, the next time we see them, they could be 15 or 16 years old for season two.
[01:11:34] And then if we have a season three, they're going to be like 19 by the time we see season three.
[01:11:39] And 19-year-olds can't pull off 13-year-olds.
[01:11:43] You know, like their facial hair is growing in halfway through an episode.
[01:11:48] Unless they do this like Harry Potter and that they advance them along that way as well.
[01:11:53] So the story matches their growth spurts and their ages.
[01:11:58] But to do that, we'd have to have a good enough reason to allow for a two-year time jump.
[01:12:06] You know?
[01:12:06] Yeah, good point.
[01:12:07] Like, if John and the pirates come, we can't wait two years to find out what happens.
[01:12:14] Like, if that's how the season ends, it can't be two years later when we're now seeing the kids fighting them off,
[01:12:21] i.e. Goonies fighting off the Fratellis, right?
[01:12:25] Yeah, the Fratellis.
[01:12:25] Yeah, the Fratellis, yeah.
[01:12:27] So, you know, because then they'll be 15 when they're doing this.
[01:12:31] And, you know, one of them is definitely going to grow six, eight inches and put on, you know, 20 pounds of muscle.
[01:12:39] You know, like it could be Neil.
[01:12:41] Who knows?
[01:12:42] Yeah.
[01:12:42] You know, but like somebody...
[01:12:43] Who becomes a mastodon.
[01:12:44] Exactly.
[01:12:47] So that's the downfall to these kids being this good is season two, we would have to...
[01:12:57] They would have to greenlight season two now.
[01:12:59] They'd have to be writing it now and start filming in six months or a year to just have them look close, you know?
[01:13:08] Otherwise, why are we coming back two years, three years later in real time?
[01:13:14] You know, why is it two years later in real time?
[01:13:16] Did the pirates leave and then say, okay, now we're coming back two years later?
[01:13:20] Like, why would they wait?
[01:13:21] You know, type of thing.
[01:13:22] So, I don't know.
[01:13:23] It'll be interesting to see how they pull it off because I feel this is a very good and highly rated show by fans and critics alike.
[01:13:34] I know a lot of people are raving about it.
[01:13:36] So, as opposed to The Acolyte, which people were like, after episode two, were like, yep, I'm not even going to watch episode three.
[01:13:45] So, if it is this good and we do want it to continue, you're going to have to do it a lot faster than you normally would.
[01:13:51] Otherwise, you're going to be like the stranger kid things who are in their 20s now and still trying to pull off high school juniors.
[01:13:58] Yeah, good point.
[01:13:59] We don't really want that to happen.
[01:14:02] But, I don't know.
[01:14:03] Who do you think?
[01:14:04] You asked me and you didn't answer.
[01:14:05] Who do you think is the supervisor?
[01:14:08] I think there's the possibility, and Mike kind of convinced me of this, that the supervisor may be one of Neil's relatives.
[01:14:18] Oh.
[01:14:19] Because when you look at the statue that's on Atten, he kind of looks like he has a trunk.
[01:14:25] He kind of looks like, you know, that stocky.
[01:14:28] He's not a robot.
[01:14:29] Okay.
[01:14:31] But I'm not sure who the captain of the ship is.
[01:14:34] Right.
[01:14:34] But the supervisor on the planet, I think, might be one of Neil's relatives.
[01:14:37] Okay.
[01:14:38] And who knows?
[01:14:38] Maybe Neil's relative was the captain.
[01:14:41] He's hard to say.
[01:14:42] And I think it's amazing that in an eight-episode series that they've managed to keep both of those things, you know, under wraps so well.
[01:14:52] Yeah.
[01:14:52] You're not frustrated.
[01:14:53] You're not annoyed.
[01:14:54] You're just along for the ride.
[01:14:56] And I'm so glad that this show has turned out to be as fun as it is.
[01:15:00] Yeah, I agree 100%.
[01:15:01] And what I also find very, very funny is, you know, over the last few years, almost over a decade, people have complained about how bad Kathleen Kennedy is.
[01:15:11] Well, Kathleen Kennedy has greenlit this.
[01:15:15] Yeah.
[01:15:15] So we have Kathleen Kennedy to thank for her skeleton crew.
[01:15:20] But she also did greenlight a couple other things which were not as good as this.
[01:15:26] But that's, you know, you're going to have your good ones.
[01:15:28] You're going to have your bad ones.
[01:15:29] So that's what you have there.
[01:15:30] I did think it was really funny in episode one when Fern and KB were on their speeder bike racing around town and stuff like that.
[01:15:42] That was totally done to make up for the speeder Vespa chase scene in Book of Boba Fett.
[01:15:50] That was the slowest chase scene ever.
[01:15:52] They were like, look, we have to show the world that we can do this the right way.
[01:15:57] We still got it.
[01:15:58] But and they pulled it off.
[01:16:00] And I was like, yes, thank you.
[01:16:01] Thank you for doing it the right way.
[01:16:03] Finally.
[01:16:04] So and they added tassels.
[01:16:07] Yes.
[01:16:08] So so Wim speeder had tassels on the handlebars.
[01:16:12] Yeah.
[01:16:12] So tassels are now cannon.
[01:16:14] Tassels are cannon.
[01:16:15] All they needed was a banana seat on that also.
[01:16:17] And it would have been perfect.
[01:16:19] Perfect.
[01:16:20] Or a little card in it that made it made a flapping noise.
[01:16:23] The flapping noise.
[01:16:24] Yeah.
[01:16:26] That would have been great.
[01:16:27] All right.
[01:16:27] Well, I think we did all the talking we can about this episode.
[01:16:32] It was I loved it.
[01:16:34] I'm assuming you you didn't seem to have anything bad to say about it either.
[01:16:38] So I'm assuming you enjoyed it as well.
[01:16:40] 100 percent.
[01:16:41] Good.
[01:16:42] Good.
[01:16:42] Because I'm very happy with this with this series so far.
[01:16:45] This is an awesome series.
[01:16:48] So, Ken, thank you again for filling in again.
[01:16:52] Remind everybody where they can find you.
[01:16:54] Sure thing.
[01:16:55] So Wednesday nights around 830, 845.
[01:16:57] You can catch me on the Inflatable Falcon with Mike Hinton and occasionally John Scalise.
[01:17:02] My own show is called The Rambling Star Wars Fan.
[01:17:05] And the other one is Bounty Hunting Across the Galaxy with Todd and Ken.
[01:17:10] It's been an absolute pleasure.
[01:17:11] You know, hanging out with each night.
[01:17:13] And you as well.
[01:17:14] Thank you very much.
[01:17:15] And I think we're going to be seeing a lot more of you over here on Bantamilk Podcast.
[01:17:20] Anytime I need a guest host, you're the first person that I'm hitting up.
[01:17:25] No, thank you.
[01:17:26] I appreciate that.
[01:17:27] It's an honor.
[01:17:28] You're doing a great job.
[01:17:29] And I thank you as well.
[01:17:31] So from all of us here at Bantamilk Podcast, Nick would say this first.
[01:17:35] I'm going to say it first and you can repeat after me.
[01:17:38] We have spoken.
[01:17:39] We have spoken.
[01:17:41] We have spoken.
