Disney's Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel is a one-of-a-kind experience that combines the luxury of a hotel stay with the immersive world of Star Wars. The two-night voyage, which starts at just under $5,000 for double occupancy, offers guests the opportunity to meet Chewbacca face-to-face, train with a realistic lightsaber, visit neighboring Batuu, and eat out-of-this-world blue shrimp. However, the most surprising aspect of this vacation is not the activities, but the price tag.
When the hotel opened in 2022, it was 100% sold-out for much of its initial months of operations, thanks to die-hard Star Wars fans with deep enough pockets to hop on board. However, looking at the 2023 booking calendar, there are currently very few sold-out voyages. This could be due to the exorbitant price, but it could also be because the biggest Star Wars fans, who would book the experience no matter the cost, have already embarked upon the Starcruiser or at least reserved their trip within its 11 months of operation.
Until now, there have been no public sales or discounts available for the Starcruiser. However, in a new promotion, Disney is effectively offering a discount on a vacation that includes a Starcruiser voyage for the first time. Instead of dropping the price of the Starcruiser itself, Disney is deeply discounting Disney resort stays around that experience. With this offer, guests can save up to $700 on a two-night Disney hotel stay immediately before or after their two-night voyage on the Galactic Starcruiser.
The offer is valid for most voyages between February 5th and September 30th and varies per resort. Guests can save $350 per night at Disney's Beach Club Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa or Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. They can also save $250 per night at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney's BoardWalk Inn, Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort or Disney's Wilderness Lodge. And, they can save $150 per night at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. These savings are steep enough to bring the cost of a deluxe resort down to that of a more affordable moderate or even value resort.
