After much speculation, Toontown is finally getting a new attraction! According to Disney Parks Blog, Mickey's Runaway Railway is set to open in 2022. It will be one of the biggest changes to come to Toontown in over 10 years.
This new attraction will be the first "Mickey-themed" ride at the park, which will feature Mickey's cartoon world. As Guests wait to meet the mouse himself, they can get a glimpse of Mickey's world by watching his cartoon shorts in his barn.
Mickey's Runaway Railway is already under construction in Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World and is set to open next year. WDW's version is replacing the Great Movie Ride, located in the Chinese Theater, but we have yet to know where Disneyland's version will be placed exactly and if it will replace anything in Toontown.
