New Disney Park Policies - Removal of Smoking Areas and Large Strollers

Disney is attempting to maximize all the space it can get in preparation for the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy Edge.

Starting May 1, Guests will no longer be able to smoke in either park, Downtown Disney, or Esplanade. The removal of the park's smoking area in Disneyland was expected since it was located on the Big Thunder Trail, which is next to the entrance of the new land. This new park rule has been long awaited by many Guests who often use the Big Thunder Trail as a shortcut.

In addition to the smoke-free policy, Disney is also prohibiting "strollers that are than 31" (79cm) in width and 52" (132cm) in length." Disney is also banning stroller wagons, which have become more and more popular for families. These new stroller regulations are all efforts to alleviate the traffic flow and stroller parking throughout the resort.

Not only are these policies taking into effect at the Disneyland Resort, but also at Walt Disney World. While push-back on these changes is expected to be minimal, the changes should help the overall comfort of the parks thousands of daily guests.
