Join the Magic at the RunDisney Half Marathon at Disneyland

Disney fans, mark your calendars for January 2024! The RunDisney half marathon is returning to Disneyland for the first time in more than six years. The event, which will take place on Jan. 11-14, will include a 5K, 10K, half marathon, and a challenge race that combines the 10K and half marathon, which is roughly three-quarters the distance of a full marathon.

Participants are encouraged to embrace their inner Disney characters by dressing up in costumes or Disneybounding attire. As they race through the Anaheim theme park, they can enjoy live entertainment, music, and even character sightings. And of course, all participants will receive a Disney-designed race medal.

The last RunDisney half marathon at Disneyland was held in September 2017. The event typically attracts around 30,000 runners each year and includes a route through both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, including a trip through CarsLand.

The return of the Disneyland Half Marathon also means that the Coast to Coast Race Challenge will be reintroduced in 2024. This challenge combines races at Disneyland in California and Disney World in Florida.

Registration for the event will open on Feb. 7 for gold and platinum Club RunDisney members and Feb. 14 for the general public. If you can't make it to Anaheim in person, don't worry – there will also be virtual versions of the event that can be run in local neighborhoods, parks, tracks, or on a treadmill. Registration for the virtual events will open on Feb. 17.

Prices for the event have not yet been announced, but other RunDisney 5Ks typically cost around $100 and half marathons cost around $220. Challenge races range from $380 to $660. Head over to runDisney.com for all the info.

Get ready to lace up your running shoes and channel your inner Disney magic at the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend in January 2024!
