We are all used to the Omnimover system in Disney attractions, but how about the Omnicoaster? In an event on Monday, Josh D'Amaro, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products, dropped some tantalizing hints about the newest ride system developed by Disney Imagineers. Simply put: we can't wait to ride this thing!
One of the major projects still getting attention in Disney Parks is Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in Disney World's Epcot. The second attraction to feature Star Lord's team is a whole new experience built in the ruins of Ellen's Energy Adventure. Josh stated that work is still underway but gave no firm date on opening. What we did get to see is some quick demo video of how the ride system works.
The Omnicoaster can glide along its track, but just like its Omnimover progenitor, each car can also rotate 360 degrees. Check out the demo video from Disney Parks Blog and we think you'll agree: we need it at Disneyland too!
