Disneyland's ride-reservation service sells out for the first time ever

Disneyland and Disney California Adventure are experiencing high wait times for popular rides such as Radiator Springs Racers, Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: Breakout!, Space Mountain, and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance during the holiday season. In response, the previously free ride-reservation service, Genie Plus, has sold out for two consecutive days. Many parkgoers are willing to pay extra money to avoid the long holiday lines and avoid waiting, even as ticket costs and the price of Genie Plus continue to increase.

However, it seems that the demand for this service has been so high that it has sold out for two consecutive days as of Wednesday. This marks the first time that Genie Plus has sold out since its launch around this time last year. The popularity of the service, combined with increasing ticket costs and the rising price of Genie Plus itself, suggests that many parkgoers are willing to pay extra for the convenience of avoiding long lines.

Despite this willingness to spend extra money, it appears that there is still a limit to how much people are willing to pay. Individual Lightning Lane entry, which requires an additional fee separate from Genie Plus, has not yet sold out for Radiator Springs Racers and Rise of the Resistance, the two rides with the longest wait times at the park. This may indicate that some parkgoers are more selective about which rides they are willing to pay extra for.

It is important for attendees planning a holiday trip to Disneyland to be prepared for long lines or to be willing to pay a premium to skip them. It remains to be seen how much parkgoers are willing to spend in order to avoid the hassle of waiting in line.
