EarzUp Goes to Walt Disney World

Being as Disneyland-centric as we are, it’s hard to know what other Disney fans are talking about when they reference things like “Horizons”, or “Spaceship Earth”.  Now that Jason and Taren have returned from their trip to Florida to explore the OTHER Disney Park, we can now fit in with the cool kids as …

EarzUp Goes to Walt Disney World

But first …

Angry Bekah is in studio as Jason explains how Taren likes to save power by leaving the lights on. Taren get real obvious during feedback, then hits us with another Tarens Thinks.

Then we get to the heart of the matter, which is to review our trip to Universal Orlando to hang with Harry Potter, and Walt Disney World.  Warning: this is a pretty long show, filled with many ramblings, but we think it will provide you with a good idea of what to expect when traveling to Walt Disney World for the first time.

We do a fast run through Disney News, then hit the Fact of the Show, and we are done!

Welcome to Florida, where it's ... real hot.

  1. I was in WDW the same week as you all. Needless to say, we had a wonderful time as always. After listening to episode 51 and a few previous episodes , I don’t understand how you can trash WDW because you were unprepared and misinformed. That upgrade to club level juat sounds horrid! How dare them…Your continuous whining about the fact it’s not Disneyland has led me to remove your show from my pod catcher app. I suggest you keep your high horse in California and leave the “most magical place on earth” to the rest of us.

    1. Hi Cliff,

Thanks for the comment. We were as prepared as possible for our WDW trip, and had a great time. I’m not entirely sure where you got the notion that we were misinformed or unprepared, but it’s incorrect. Maybe it was my “God Florida is hot” comments. Perhaps it was the “stupid bus” remarks. Whatever it was, I think you are confusing commentary with opinion. It was hot there. That’s a fact. I think the bus system is dumb and the monorail should connect all parks. Another fact.

The “upgrade” was at Disneyland. We paid for the club level at WDW, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Not sure if you thought that was a negative or not by your comment but … that’s the clarification for you.

There was no whining that it was not Disneyland, we were making the comparison to Disneyland. That was the point of the show. And with any comparison, there will be pros highlighted as well as cons. I happen to think Disneyland is better than WDW. I’ll still go back there, but not for awhile. No high horse here, man, just honest comments. I’m not trying to be one of those podcasts that just love every Disney Park ever in the world of ever. We want to be real. And with that reality comes opinions. I thinks too bad that you are no longer listening to our show simply because you took some opinions the wrong way. But perhaps this isn’t the show for you then. I’m sure there are plenty of other podcasts out there that won’t offend you as easily, but where’s the fun in that? We want to be honest with our listeners and never say things just to get people to listen. Sorry we didn’t love WDW as much as you, but hey – more room for you there!

If you do decide to come back, we’d love to have you. If not, no hard feelings. And if you ever get to Disneyland, let us know, we’d love to show you all the reasons we love our park.

      Good luck, Cliff!

      1. Hi Jason,
I just listened to the Walt Disney World episode for the second time and still can’t understand why Cliff was so angry. I thought you guys did an honest comparison between the two parks. You were not bashing disney world the entire time as your episode has multiple lines such as “why can’t we have something like this in Disneyland”, “this is better than anything at Disneyland”, etc. You mentioned the uncomfortable humidity which is a real issue for folks not used to the weather. My cousin from San Diego visited WDW in the summer once and swore she’d never go during that time again because of the humidity.
Anyway, confused why Cliff became so upset/enraged. Maybe he’s just a miserable dude.
        Keep up the good work!
