Disney Cast Members Get the Job Done from Home

Working from home. Telecommuting. Remote work. Whatever you call it, many of us adapted over the past year to get our work done anywhere but an office. The Imagineers of Disney are no exception. Construction resumed in the Parks shortly after the gates closed and that happens on site. Custodial employees keep cleaning on site. Imagineers are a different story. These Cast Members get the job done from their home studios.

In a video released by Disney, we get a look inside the studios of a few of the talented Imagineers behind the transformation of Snow White's Enchanted Wish. You may recall the discussion about these changes from a few months back when Jason and Jeremy discussed their feelings on the ride and the designer behind it, Kim Irvine. Ms. Irvine is a popular topic following her role in the Club 33 addition and the recoloring of Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Say what you will about the redesign, it's cool to see Imagineers creating concept art and experimenting with materials in their home studios. Enjoy this behind-the-scenes glimpse! The discussion about remote collaboration and being specific with wording and requests rings true for any industry. This must really challenge creative workers who prefer sharing ideas on a much more intimate basis.

When Disneyland reopens, we will see quite a few differences to the park we left last March. Changes to Snow White's Fantasyland dark ride are nothing compared to the whole new land springing up in Disney's California Adventure! We wait with great anticipation, hoping that that we can someday soon return in safety to our favorite parks.

Catch up on some of our previous episodes! For more on Club 33, listen to this classic EarzUp episode. While you won't hear about the recent re-designs of the castles of Disney World's Magic Kingdom and Disneyland, you will love this episode that compares the two.
